Kayvoss
In your opinion what is the best way to farm metal? I've seen many different ways to, but I don't know which is the best. THanks
Oli4
Ab: Crab+anky in blue zone Other maps: transmitter/obelisk/drop to transfer to ab to mine metal there

In my opinion, Ab is the best for farming metal. Crab+anky in blue zone with an industrial forge. I then move the refined metal to my base in mushroom forest with a Basilisk (Basilisks weight stat is impressive). If not on Ab, I prefer an Anky with a flock of Argys for carrying raw metal back to base. This allows you to hop around multiple locations with relative ease. I once used a Paracer with forges on a platform saddle so that I had a mobile forge, but I became tired of moving him. He now sits alone in a wayward forest on the Island. Obviously, in both cases you want an Anky leveled in Melee to increase your yield per metal rock.
Monde
I use the Carry Anklyo to the mountain with a Quetz. Mine till Quetz is full and go home. The BEST way we had, in a previous life was a base on Pillars high enough that they dont interrupt the spawn. Anklyo on a lift down to the ground mine the nodes and back up the lift to the forges. Once the metal is refined you can collect on a Argy. Worked best on the Snow Mountain in the North.

Kayvoss
Currently, I'm on Ragnarok and I have my base in the plains. As of now, I'm using an anky and an Argy for metal, but its really slow and I don't get much in one run. Any Tips?

choroni
On the island, single player, I leave an anky on wander on herbivore island and fly my argy over anytime I need metal. I have other alternative spots for metal as well, but none other places that I can safely leave an anky .
Baklap
I always use one argy + anky on the island. Fly up the mountain, harvest all the pure nodes and fly back down in about 15min with almost 5k metal. Now we have started on abb.. crab+anky in the blue zone

banakeen
If you play on ragnarok having a boat with a bunch of forges on it can be good because you can go around the island in the SW of the map and smelt all of your metal that way.
Smartcore
Argent + anky + whip. Overburden the hell out the anky and use a good weight argent to carry the anky back, leave all the metal on the anky. I pick up the anky and move him node to node. For nodes close together i use the whip. The spots i have i get an easy 5-10 k metal a trip. WizardNuuk
40 minutes ago, Kayvoss said: Where is this hidden metal cave? I assume Monde is referring to the ruins on the top of the hill at coordinates approximately 57 19. There is an entrance/exit at the base of the hill, but it is likely easier to find if you climb down from the inside first.

Soldier905
Get a good hauling argent with a few argents on follow with a anky , it will out perform a quetz by miles as the quetz doesnt have the metal weight reducer on it and the argent is faster . Kawarriorking
A breed argy and a breed anky is still the best way for island solo metal gathering. If you have a team then quetz/anky is best for on the island. I have done quetz/anky solo but I think it is better to have the argy to deal with aggressive dinos and it's easier to pick up drop off the anky and move it around. My island base is by air about 1min from a rich node area and about 3min from the volcano so I can get both spots and be back to base in 20min for 2-6k raw metal, 1-3k ing during the week and double on weekends. BlackACE
If your on the island, there is crystal hill (has rich metal nodes). It is very near to the south zone one and as long as you have an argent and an anky you can get there easily. Going on foot is dangerous though cuz there are raptors and alphas spawn frequently. It’s good for single player but not pvp. Nothing but pachys and parasaurs spawn on the top of the hill though so the hill itself is safe. You can also easily set up a forge without upsetting the spawns as well. That way u can take twice as much home. Lycan187u
Quetzal\gasbag/anky the best since gasbag is encumbered quetzal takes no weight?...to add aswell tek pants\chest piece also can move 300 or so stacks
Oldster
And the next tier is placing a high level argy and anky at metal locations with forges nearby and a bed. Fast travel to each, load forges, when done start flying argies home and back with ingots as they finish.

BlackACE
Literally look anywhere on the mountainsides. The desert and metal cave are the best though. Compact way is argy anky, but efficiency is quetz and anky. U can fit multiple ankies on one quetzal

Axirpy
Definetely the Karki + Anky method on Aberration for me. I have my base at the entrance of the NW surface and it's really worth it, also super safe.
