  1. You could try reporting the server via this link.
  2. I miss mining inside The Island volcano. You can still do it. But uh, the old way was fun. But hey, it's fine.
  3. I have the server setup for the next maintenance to allow structures to clip into the terrain on PvE. That should be good. Nobody asked for it before until recently, and we have no problems with it here. Will try and get it included on the settings.
  4. Okay. Let me explain something from reality. Say you're wanting to get away with breaking the law. What do you do? Stay under the radar. Now you get into trouble and get a record. Hmm, police might just keep an eye out for you and even track your friends. Oh my gosh, the police are bullies. XD Yeah, I hope you understand now.
  5. Better than a 0 minute warning and a huge boom as lightning takes your power grid down.
  6. This thread gave me a good laugh. It's proof that nobody reads the patch notes.
  7. Not sure if this will work. Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\BattlEye And run Install_BattlEye.bat
  8. Not sure if this will work. Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\BattlEye And run Install_BattlEye.bat
  9. This is like asking, "Why did Japan allow the 2011 earthquake-tsunami that happened?" Well they did try to stop it, they had walls up and evacuation plans. The problem is, it's a whole lot of water, and more than you can imagine. Kinda like how a ddos is a whole lot of data. Sure enough, if you can predict the type of attack, you can mitigate it from happening or lessen the impact. But inevitably, you have to deal with the fact that somebody can do a low orbit attack on your address and if a server cannot handle it, you are denied service. What are you going to do about it? There's only so much somebody can do about it. Long story short, it is not allowed.
  10. From hosting, I know that the servers use TCP and UDP packets. The TCP packets are usually guaranteed to arrive at their destination, but UDP is fast and forget. The UDP packets are like being on a Skype call. Any loss of data will be visible. They are designed to be that way. However, very likely if a loss of enough packets happens and the game is expecting them to arrive, it may hang on the game logic.
  11. Still putting the mod up. And I need to update this advertisement with a bunch of things. New pictures, and the new mod list. Etc.
  12. I need to put up a new mod on the server later today. It was meant to be already done, but real life keeps blocking my efforts. Oh well.
  13. On Unofficial, I just recover the character file and dump it back on the server it was lost upon. I have backups saving every once an hour. Not sure about how the official servers are setup, I am just a volunteer moderator.
  14. Not all pillars are a form of oppressing the weak and new. Sometimes, people want to protect the resources of the map that you may not be thinking about. Some dinosaurs for example, are tied to boss battles, and if they vanish from the map, you can't enter bosses on that entire map anymore because of new bases. Or just makes it silly hard to even get the resources because of the reduced number. I am just saying from playing the actual game, not all pillars are a form of bad play. Seems like this is a very grey area imo. The problem is, new players don't see the reason why something is done like it is, and thus complain about the land hogging. Not saying all pillars are put up for good reasons for the betterment of the entire map. Some people genuinely don't want a new base to appear right next to theirs for example. But, I have seen people pillar the beach where player spawns would appear, to protect against some new player building a huge base right where they first spawned, causing everybody else who spawns there to be trapped.
  15. Had to update the servers before going to work. Sigh, why always update while I am sleeping? I think I might have to get somebody on the other side of the world to have remote access.
  16. My AMD RYZEN Wraith Ripper cooler came in the mail. But it came pre-scratched on the front of the thing, which means that it is somewhat defective. But I figure once it's in a case, it should be dark enough that nobody will see it. If that is the case, why bother worrying right? Plus, nothing is perfect in this world so. Update! Here it is!
  17. So on my server, you can die and you have an hour to go get the body or bag. Anyways, this guy on my server figured that the time a body remains, is the same time on a bag you drop on the floor. So, the bag lasted 5 minutes and he changed servers quickly. By the time he came back, the bag was gone. Like as if the two are the same.
  18. Rarely happens on my unofficial. At least it's easy to recover them.
  19. How much system memory do you have in your system? What graphics card are you using? Are you playing on Windows 10?
  20. Haha, a guy who has a crap connection logged in today and said the connection is better than it has ever before. He wanted to know what I did, because one day it just changed and things ran really well. That would be the business line.

    The truth

Solutions that are not damaging to the game take time to build and implement. If it was easy, it would already be implemented.
