on next community crunch: a rock

Cool tree. Still not buying ASA for a variety of reasons. And even though most of the naysayers have left this website, you can still see the utter loathing for your recent decisions on steam forums and all over the internet. And I can see you're not interested in changing your tone at all, so I'm probably gonna dip out after this community crunch as well. But I'm not trying to be negative for negativity's sake, I really have enjoyed Ark and I'm trying to give constructive feedback. But ignoring the larger community is not going to work well for you. I unfortunately expect ASA and Ark 2 to backfire unless you change something. There have been plenty of suggestions to save face and earn back the community's trust offered to you, and I think it would only be redundant to repeat them here. Until then, goodbye Ark, goodbye Wildcard, my friends and I will keep playing unofficial or single player, but I don't know anyone at all in person who has actual plans to buy ASA. And those interested in Ark 2 have been turned off as well because of these recent decisions... myself included. You've lost trust in a lot of people, and I think that's the most important thing a company like yours can have. I expected plenty of bugs and delays, but I at least trusted you to try to fix those, come out with a fun product, and try to respect the people who keep you in business. But now, you don't have my trust at all, and I can't trust you enough to ever buy further products from you. Heck look at the steam charts, you've lost 20k players in just a few months. Anyhoo, enjoy your new landcroc, peace out my bros.

Hello, I am thrilled. The difference is serious. I am already so curious about the more. When I imagine what you will do with all the cards, as well as the animals. If I can't play ASA... I already envy the ASA players. Please please please rework the saddle of Anky so that the poor animal can breathe well again.

The amount of complaining from this community about everything just amazes me. Why do people need to complain about absolutely everything? Every week people find something to complain about. The fasola looks amazing and I voted for it, because, in my opinion, it was the best submission. But honestly, if we ended up with a little spider or a giant beetle or whatever, I would be happy and excited. I believe that's the appropriate response. It seems like most of the individuals in this community are extremely entitled and implacable. Wildcard doesn't need to remaster and improve our beloved game. They don't need to make Ark 2. They don't need to expand the amount of dinos we have. I have never played another game that is as consistently updated as much as Ark. Wildcard has given us an amazing game. In my opinion, it is the best game ever made. If you're pessimistic about everything, my recommendation is to not play Ark and go on to another game. No one likes to hear your persistent complaining.

To anyone out there complaining about servers being shut down. Things come and go that's just how life is you cannot expect that something will last forever. Wild Card knows what they are doing. So grow up, stop complaining about a pointless video game and do something with your life. Can't wait for the release of ASA keep up the good work WC.

Really enjoying watching the devs slowly dismantle there long build up of the original and loyal community memebers that gave you there hard earned cash. And now we get the big SLAP most of us were prepared and seen comming. Ark has been dieing for about 2 awfully slow years. So most loyal memebrs new the inevitable was gonna come and we truly aren't to upset about it. It's just how you brainless devs have dropped everything on us. You say things and then retract the statement or just blaitly don't say anything at all Lets be honest here wild card is prolly going broke They seem to struggle with just getting out (CONCEPT) drawings. I don't hope to see the game get back on two feet I'd greatly enjoy from a distance watching this game implode on you goofy devs.🫡

Can we get some support for the moa?!? It would have been such an interesting addition to the game, and is already available ( our at least a smaller moa is) for the pc guys as a mod creature from atlas. Maybe they'll add it on their own if we keep talking about it. Although I guess we can add whatever mod creatures we want once ASA comes out and console players can use mods, whenever that happens.

While Fasolasuchus wasn't one of my top picks, I'm glad it was not Giga #3 (Maip) that won. I'm actually ok that the fasolasuchus won. I'm just hoping it's not just a PVP juggernaut and actually has utility role like how the anky does. Poor Giant Moa bird though. I guess no one likes the idea of a scorched earth version of the ostrich.

I think most people don't care so much about the updated foliage, and it might just be because I'm an artist/developer, but I'm pretty happy they're updating the old plants. There's a very noticeable difference in quality between old foliage and new foliage, especially on Lost Island and Gen2- going from those maps to The Island or The Center is like going back in time, graphically. It's irked me for a while so I'm actually glad they fixed it.

Not to mention.... What would the lizard even do? Bear trap? Who the hell even uses those? Golem killer/tamer? Again, who even uses those? This is just going to be yet another predator for the PvP crowd who's never touched anything not an official server a day in their whole life (and likely never will). Other modes exist, why can't we get a creature hat's only useful in PvE or Single player for roleplaying reasons? Or just for doing something for fun?

can you give us more info about official saves import, especially for the poor console players that are frozen in a limbo of uncertainty along in the same ocean of sadness with PC player? Also what bugs are you going to fix? instead of exploits that don't matter so much for private clusters, you should focus on gameplay issues (missions, carchao taming bugs, giga spawns ruined by carcharos spawn bug), especially for single players, as long for server stability (gen 2) or just simply put it on github

While I love the winner, I would have much preferred the Ledu by leaps and bounds. We absolutely need more herbivores, and I too tire of so many carnivores.

YES! Although Fasalo is a bit much for my taste, I'm happy it won! Congrats to this big beastie from the late Triassic! I'm honestly excited to ride it. Maybe it'll improve Golem taming.

Adding on, ASA's going to have better AI pathfinding... meaning a following creature be they tamed or wild won't get stuck as easily. So being fast and maneuverable will more than likely be a well desired trait for anyone travailing on land less they desire their slower tames become raptor food.

Oh no! Voter fraud! Democracy has failed us, best to just let the wildcard staff pick a name out of a hat, or better yet not add any more creatures until after ASA is released, so they can get on with their jobs and stop wasting time.

The thing with the first vote is people get their friends to come along to the forum and vote up submissions whether they still play the game or not or even if they don't play at all. This means you get a lot of people voting just to help out specific submissions. The issue then comes with round 2, often getting those same people to come back and vote a second time for the exact same thing usually results in diminishing results. Therefore the results of round 2 look very different from round 1.

WC or SG what are you going to do about the broken game your trying to leave us Xbox one/ PS4 players with. As I have stated before. I don't care about ASA game play yet what are you going to do ABOUT to ArkSe being buggy. Cutting off why gameplay. Servers not working right etc. Why is another company saying Ark 2 wont be til 2025? Why is a game we already have going to cost so much. When it should be priced cheaper. Stop stale mating and give us facts

I rekon they should. It wouldn't make much sense for them to go and redesign everything down to the trees but not at the very least update some of the creature designs.

Okay not what I expected but at least the faso is something different. I personally would have liked to seen the moa, I mean a giant prehistoric ostrich in the desert? C’mon that’s goes together like Snailgames and cheating. Oops did I say that? Ok the tree is definitely a nice change from old to new, but for crying in the mud we are 3 months from ASA launch, supposedly. We had more idea of the stuff we we’re getting in Gen 2 at 3 months out than we do FOR AN ENTIRE GAME REMASTERING!!! So far we have a creature vote, a tree in UR5 compared to UR4 and a difference supply drop design, 3 MONTHS FROM LAUNCH OF ASA!! Hell we had screen shots, trailers and content that was being put into Gen 2 at this point. Better grab the gear and dump the clutch on these reveals WC, because the longer you take the more community you loose that will be that much harder to get back. The server population is scarse at best right now, the want to log in and refresh things or even play for any length of time isn’t there. We definitely need more on the plate than little morsels of stuff. Time to drop a top sirloin steak on the plate Wildcard. There’s nothing to be secretive about, we all know what ASA is, what’s waiting for us and what the game is going to entail. We just been through 8 years of ASE, ASA is just upgraded. Get us hyped up, get us to WANT to go out and do what we have to get it. Give us a real teaser leaving us foaming at the mouth for more, and sorry a tree is cool but kinda falls a couple yards short of our gaming tickle spot and is more or less disappointing. Now here’s some things I’d like to see (and probably a few more of us): New building materials/structures/mechanics trailer Useless creatures get a use again (flyer speed, herbivore self-defense etc) Complete separate balances for PvP and PvE, FROM THE START! Fixing bugs associated with different weapons and tools Making some engrams learnable on all maps(incubator, whips, net gun, unstable element) Also being transfer timers were instituted to combat cheating, which should not be needed if there really is a viable anti-cheat system in place. So GET RID OF THE DANG TIMERS! Also let us be able to start boss fights through the transmitter. Thats just the top of my list, there’s more I’d like to see get fixed but that’s at the top. The biggest thing is Wildcard, ya guys gotta get something out regarding ASA be it gameplay, screenshots or content that makes us wanting more and can’t wait to get our hands on this upgrade. Don’t disappoint us WC, it’s do or die for you guys.

I'm SO HAPPY that the Jumper spider didn't win, I'm sad that the Gorgonops or Gigantoraptor didn't win, but Falso was in my top 4 (I chanced the Miap). But this thing looks like a descendent of the magmasaur, I hope this thing is as strong as a magma or has a platform saddle or has a special ability or can bury itself in sand. Anyway, this creature will be awesome, we need more lizards. The last one we had was the Magmasaur and the one before that was the Megalania that doesn't fly or glide, not counting drakes, wyverns, dinosaurs or synapsids (mammal-like reptiles) as lizards, a new lizard will do us good. As for ASA, I'm excited!!!! I was mad when it was first announced to be a different game, but I was still gonna buy it(and partially resent it), no resentment now. I am mad at ppl who ditched the game because of servers closing or the game having a price, I understand pve players with all the work you is gonna be destroyed, I've dealt with it in other games. But Ark 1 has ran a good life of 8 years. I've watched since early access in 2015 being played by the Gaming Beaver and Poet Plays and played since official release in 2017. But it is time to wave off ark 1 and tame many Sky Giga and look toward the horizon of ASA and Ark 2. ASA will be a better Ark with all the same stuff but have better detail and new tames. I will buy ASA and play it and learn the new style of ASA survival.

I don't think showing a remade tree asset is going to be a very convincing sales point for a $60 game we already paid for.

while i'm fine with the winner being fasa, i feel like herbis need more spotlight tbh. I was really hoping ledu would win or at least get high on the votes but of course it was the least voted.. I would LOVE to see an apex herbi or just any at all really, to me i feel like they have the capability of having more uses than carnivores

Nope, 105 is the basic level limit with nothing added. 105 base + 5 chibi + 10 runes + 10 explorer notes + 15 Overseer + 15 Manticore + 15 Rockwell + 15 Master controller + 15 Rockwell Prime for a grand total of 205 levels.

We need to vote on abilities too. Or at least ONE of the abilities among several. Based on submissions once the creature is elected, ideally. So that it forces any new community creature, even if it's yet another carnivore, to be more interesting than "it kills Gigas" or "it farms more meat than that other creature that farms meat" or "it does bossfights". We already have creatures that do that. Plenty.

I knew the Fasola was gonna win, this community can't resist a carnivore ! Hopefully it's not just a meat farmer like the Carchar... and it ACTUALLY is uniquely useful in PvE too, not just PvP. Very happy for Nyrandil, it's a fantastic map with a lot of creativity, and it deserves the support. Its creator has been working hard on it and IF (big if, obviously) it were to become a free DLC, I really wouldn't be mad at it. Lastly... Noone doubts that WildCard can create assets. The same way we know you have artists capable of amazing concept art. The problem is, you want us to pay for an UPGRADE that is mainly a matter of performance and gameplay. If you can't tell us about why it's something we NEED, something that fixes our issues with Ark as it currently is, something that actually offers novelty... then what is the point of teasing us ? Especially when you're supposedly three months from release ? ("supposedly" being the operative word here) Players are customers, not kids you distract with colorful pictures. I don't mind the pricing or anything like that, but you have to deliver more than "look, this tree has better leaves !". At the very least let us get involved. Tell us how we can suggest QoL improvements. Show us a livestream of one dev working on something interesting that you feel comfortable letting us see (or letting us see being worked on). Disclose the details of a specific improvement that's mostly finished. Give us SOMETHING other than this. The way you communicate with us is so bad. So, so bad. You need to revise your PR policy. It's the worst thing coming out of your studio, at this point.

Which Is why I suggest WC just flat out ban carnivore submissions for all remaining votes. because at this point it's the only way we'll get ANYTHING new and interesting.

Whilst I do agree with this to some degree, I feel like most ark players are gravitated twords carnivores due to mass media like Jurassic Park making them out to be bloodthirsty awesome bro monsters. People forget that herbivores can be equally as amazing. Need I mention hippos, elephants, and rhinos? Banning them completely is a bit irrational though.

Can we please BAR carnivores from all future votes? We've had like eight in a row at this point.

yes, biggest problem is accessing the filesystem, sadly. That's the biggest problem also preventing mods to work easily on console (and that's why we have bloatware calling overwolf doing this passing all throught the meaningless junky sony and microsoft certification processes ) was thinking, I may try doing the opposite: loading a switch save into a pc build :v

That's a strange leap to make. We're talking about completely different operating systems on different hardware architectures. They are more than likely far more different than they are the same.

You are forcing your player base to purchase a game they already own, once again, just because you constantly see how passionate we are about said game and you think we all will. Coming out with this CC and changing the price is completely missing the point. The price isn't what people are upset with. So, let me spell it out for you: - This was said to be a FREE upgrade that would port over our ASE saves (characters, dinos, etc.) - You are losing a decent portion of your fanbase who can't upgrade to next gen consoles because of cost, much less purchase ASA. - You are sunsetting Official servers that people have grinded HARD on for 8 years. I seriously doubt anyone that works at Wildcard plays the game as hard as most of us do. Do you realize how much work goes into stat mutations for a tame that takes TWO weeks to raise?! Or how much work it is to find the Explorer Notes on EVERY. SINGLE. MAP. so you can max out your character? And we're all just supposed to accept losing it, starting over and paying to do so. - You have made it public, as per this quote, "We also recognize that ARK 2 has some pretty significant design changes from the original game, which may not make it as appealing to everyone ", that you realize Ark 2 is not going to be a success for everyone who enjoys ASE. And yet.. we are being forced to lose what we know and love. This is the biggest middle finger to all of us. If you know the majority of your fanbase is not in favor - what are you doing? Either keep Official servers or streamline Ark 2 to be similar to Ark 1. - There has been no real apology. No accountability. No claiming responsibility for Jeremys statements. No real communication; just this sloppy, disappointing Crunch. - There are plenty of games that have and will upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 that are NOT charging their players to upgrade. So, why are you? I can answer that, actually. You are being run by a greedy company called Snail Games. Who, by the way, will only continue to lose money because you are headed down a path with many losses (see their current stock price, as an indicator). The excuse of "it would cost resources and time" - your players would pay for the port. We'd donate, you'd hire people to help. It's a simple fix. Which is a horrible excuse to begin with - Fortnite did it without any data loss and it was completely free. - Console players do not want cross-play. There is enough issues on PC alone, there's no need to intertwine them and make everything 10x more complicated. - Given the state that ASE is in and how your team just abandoned updating and taking care of it, why should anyone want to financially support ASA? It'll be the same buggy mess, just with better graphics and mods. It was already admitted that your team is inexperienced with it, so we're supposed to believe it'll be mastered and a full, playable ASA will be available at the end of August? And we have to pay for it, again. Whose to say you won't wipe those servers once Ark 2 finally drops? - There has been a petition going around with over 5,000+ signatures on it petitioning for you to keep Official servers alive. This is 5,000+ people who have dedicated their real life time AND money into your very, very flawed game for YEARS. We have supported you all of this time, we tell you what we want and you continuously choose to ignore that. Prim+, broken. No skins on Tek suits. Stingy with Evo events, even now when the game is literally ending in four months. Lag, rollbacks, losing characters on transfer, exploits, randomly getting kicked out of your tribe, boss fight issues, teleporting issues, anti-meshing issues. The only thing that ever mattered to Wildcard was PvP - the rest of us got the short end of the stick, every time. The sad part is that this list isn't even exhaustive and I already know this message will never actually get read. Even in the small chance it did, nothing would change. This was essentially a way for me to vent my frustrations and express that I, personally, will no longer be supporting Studio Wildcard, Ark or Snail Games. This is basically my goodbye to a game that I've loved for a long, long time. Rest in peace.
