So what you are saying is, why bother hyping up the final map as they no longer need new players to the old game. That's fair I guess, although I would imagine that they would want to keep the current player base happy and satiated until they try and sell us Ark 2.  Point being, it's the same old, same old with Studio Wildcard, the information in the crunches is crap most times, there's never any real meat to the process of developing, the progress, it's fluff, simply fluff that does nothing to keep anyone truly interested and enthusiastic.  That's my point.

I agree, many of us have been playing this game for YEARS and it's never gotten any better with content releases, never gotten any better in many aspects of the game and it's development.  As a paid up customer and enthusiast to the game in general, when things don't improve or don't measure up I take to the forums to voice my opinion and express my frustration. It's therapeutically helpful to me personally, so I really don't care who hates or loves it, although the likes on the posts are nice to see.  Point is, fan boys are fan boys, and opinions are opinions.  We're free to express ourselves and even if someone doesn't agree, getting into a posting war seems a little ridiculous lol.   Most of us are veterans, and as such, we've got years of pent up aggression and irritation over the shenanigans' the studio has thrown our way over the years, some handle it quietly and stew, others get it out of their system so they can throw up their hands and say "F it" and move on.   May is a long way away after a long delayed wait, it's a highly anticipated release that most of the community have been very patiently waiting for, so frustration and irritation are naturally going to be something the studio is going to have to contend with.  Personally, I'm trying to remain at least a tiny bit understanding, but I do feel like the reason this is being delayed again isn't because of Covid but because the team is being split up to focus on Ark 2 with a skeleton crew developing on Gen Pt 2 and that has me a little unsettled as I feel that being a customer who already paid for it, I'd rather get what I paid for before being asked to buy something new.

The covid thing is BS. I guess WC has been experiencing a pandemic since 2015 because this game has ALWAYS suffered from delay upon delay upon delay.

What a cop out for their inadequate planning and managment.

This is Wildcard.  They can release it late *and* broken.  Just like they did with Extinction, after most of them snuck off to work on Atlas.  Now they've got Ark 2, which I'm guessing is the *real* reason the DLC is months and months late.  They were too busy making that cinematic  for the Game Awards instead of finishing the first game.

Expect ARK II to be delayed atleast a year or two.... along with bugs that will take another 10 years for them to fix if they follow the same development as they've done this far.

Also someone said something about making ratholes earlier, I don’t think u realize most ratholes aren’t intentional, they are just weird places where static meshes have little gaps.

First of, they never said to finish it, they said umm polish, I belive was the word, and two, they promised this before covid hit, which not only has the problems of worse internet, communication, worse computer systems, not being hooked up to the same network, and personal problems, cuz they are people. Not only is there an adjustment period till you can restart work, you will probably working at significantly lower effectiveness. Like 30% worse. Combine that with a mild persisting overestimation and the want to make their last, biggest DLC yet be high quality, and doing other large things like TLCs and events. And most likely the DLC with the most unique and complex creatures, abilities and environments(meaning it takes a loooong time to figure out how to make it do said abilities, providing lots of confusing roadblocks) and the largest map yet. So I think they have quite a good reason for delaying twice.

Also no. It is not comparable. It’s more like the ice cream man has to fly a drone from his house with trashy internet. And the drone is slower and less obvious then the truck, making it less effective.

When it comes to wildcard, they are a fairly decent company who actually cares about their game and doesn't try to realese a half-assed dlc just for the sake of releasing it. They actually bothered to listen to feedback from their comunity (no matter how much you insult them) to try and improve game for your sake as the player, they're not going to be the ones who are going to be playing the game and yet they're going out of they're way to try and make the game a better experience for you as the player.

Look if they were a money grabing company like any other than they would've already released the dlc and not cared what you had to say, but here they are wasting their own time and money to try and make sure that you actually enjoy the game.

So please stop whinning, it gets really annoying having to look through the comments and mainly seeing hate comments.

Well it’s possible to by ark 1 for 10, or ark and the 3 old Generation DLCs for 20$, when it’s on sale, so u may be in luck.

Ark was originally made by 15 people or so with meh experience at coding and development, and made in about 2 years I believe? Ark 2 I think we are going with 4 years before relese with 42 experienced developers who know what their doing, not only that, on a new platform, with more abilities and optimization. I believe ark 2 will have better graphics, less lag, less bugs after a bit of EA, and be developed quicker. Especially with a cleaner code.

Poglin, missions outside map zone are two instances recently, changes to cryopod today to display color regions and be cleaner(amoung other things) taming UI, Homested update, any other integrated mod stuff(large examples being The Center, Ragnorock, Valagrue, Crystal Isles, I real like I’m forgetting one, is that just me?)

Doesn't change quality, just speed of development. And I think previous listed reasons outweigh that, they will likely learn from at least some of their previous mistakes
