Happy Tuesday, Survivors! It's PC patch day and we've got two exciting things to chat about that we are currently working on. Structures Plus: Now that Extinction has been officially released, the team will be dedicating some time to the integration of Structures Plus. Pulling S+ into ARK's already existing structure system without causing issues with current structures is very important to us. There are also many features that exist in S+ that we cannot integrate into official servers without taking into consideration the impact on game balance. The plan is to integrate S+ on a feature by feature basis, prioritizing features that are compatible with the official game. We may integrate additional features gated by options for unofficials as time permits. Our first bit of integration starts immediately in today’s PC patch where we introduce the ability to pick up undamaged structures for free if it was placed in the last 30 seconds. You can pick up a placed structure by looking directly at the structure and pressing the interact key (E). This change will be included in the next patch for console, due later this week. Kibble Rework: Extinction's kibble setup (known as Augmented Kibble) was phase one of our kibble rework. We are currently in the process of assigning these new kibble types to all of the remaining ARK creatures across all maps. All eggs will be assigned a value based on the size and rarity of the egg. These sizes include: Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and Special. The eggs are then used in a recipe to create kibble of a coinciding value: Basic, Simple, Regular, Superior, Exceptional, and Extraordinary. This new system will make it so that creature kibble desires are based on the quality levels instead of specific creatures. We plan to introduce these changes on an experimental beta branch before letting it loose into the wild population at a later date. We’re excited to tackle this much needed rework! NOTE: These plans are subject to change.

Deinonychus Common Name: Deinonychus Species: Deinonychus magna pede Time: Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild By the time you hear the scurrying claws of the Deinonychus, it's often too late. Superior hunters, they leap from a hiding place and pounce on their prey. The Deinonychus is an agile climber as well, jumping from wall ledge to wall ledge as it seeks high vantage points to lie in wait. A hungry Deinonychus tends to be fearless and will hunt prey much larger than itself, latching onto a dinosaur's back with its sickle-shaped claws, then starting to feed before its victim is even dead. While it likes its meat fresh, a Deinonychus isn't above scavenging a carcass if no other food is available. Domesticated Raising a Deinonychus in captivity requires an ample food supply, as they have a fast metabolism to match their high activity level. The Deinonychus is also fiercely territorial near nests with eggs, even if the eggs aren't its own. This makes breeding successive generations a hazardous process. Unless raised from eggs, they cannot be tamed; the hunter instinct of a wild Deinonychus is so strong that it reflexively pounces on a would-be master. When will this creature make its first appearance on the ARK? Find out more soon! Maybe you guys could finally add the Vampire/Werewolf disease transformations you had planned for Fear Evolved in 2016. I had a source tell me that you almost had it done and working well but then scrapped it. Other than that, I loved the Dodo Rex/Wyvern Events you used to have, so more of that kind of thing would be fun!

There should be a way to separate the balances made to dinosaurs and game mechanics between PvE and PvP. Multiple balances have made PvE nothing but hard. Managarmr being a recent example, in PvE they're useless now thanks to the many balances made to make PvP better. Flier nerf was a huge change in PvE making fliers and transportation harder by forcing us to land since PvP was taking to the skies too often and the game tried to "ground" the fight

Am I the only person who think that the ark devs deserve a lot more respect then they get? And I bit more appreciation??? The way people comment on their twitter posts and page posts is just disgusting!! Show them some respect. You obviously enjoy the game as your still playing it. Yes it's buggy yes it's glitchy but come on guys!!! It's a HUGE online game with A LOT of things going on in the game! i don't know the littlest thing about developing games ... but I'd imagine it isn't easy!! Especially a game of this size ! With structures and creatures that I'd imagine require a lot of mechanics? I think we really need to lay off them and show them how much of a great job they are doing! Yes they make mistakes ... they maybe make a lot of mistakes but I bet they don't ever rest until they have fixed their mistakes ... their constantly on the job ... it's not like your average job where you go home and forget about work till the next day . No no no .... I'm sure ark never leaves their mind and they are always coming up with new ways to make gameplay better ... a lot of their bug fixes and improvements go unnoticed to the average player but A LOT of work goes into this game daily . START APPRECIATING IT . You guys are doing an amazing job. Keep up the great work

Ahoy Survivors, Jeremy and Jesse here! You might have noticed the announcement today of a new MMO game called ATLAS developed by a sister team of Studio Wildcard, named Grapeshot Games. Jesse and Jeremy together are now leading the development of ATLAS at Grapeshot, while continuing to creatively supervise the direction of ARK. Grapeshot itself is comprised of some original ARK team members as well as many new hires and operates as a separate dedicated dev team. The Wildcard team meanwhile has grown developing ARK and Extinction over the past year, led by Lead Programmer Chris Willoughby and Senior Producer Colin Tennery, and have been doing an excellent job bringing fresh ideas and QoL improvements to the game. As we work together with Chris, Colin, and the rest of the team, Wildcard will continue to support and expand ARK over the years to come bringing new features, fixes, and expansions into the game. Grapeshot meanwhile will grow in a direction oriented towards the operation of the persistent MMO service that ATLAS is, while both games will share technology and infrastructure improvements to complement each other. We’d like to thank everybody for their long-standing support, love of ARK, and enthusiasm for survival games, and we look forward to the adventures ahead! Keep on surviving, Jeremy and Jesse Co-Creative Directors of ARK and Co-Founders of Studio Wildcard

You have got to be kidding me that you banned one of the most popular youtubers of your game for having built in a spot on the surface of abb. GTjack3d has played something like 10k hours of this game and never once been a cheater and this is his reward for being great for your community and giving you god knows how much free advertising? This is got to be one of the single dumbest things you've done. and that's saying a lot for someone who's been around from the beginning because that list is long. This is not an area that was intended for building? well who's fault is that? Was there a sign or something there saying that? Are your players mind readers? When rag added that puzzle cave it was also not intended for building yet you didn't code it that way which is 100% YOUR FAULT. Yet when you did the same thing on rag you gave people warning to move and didn't ban anyone..why is this any different? Seriously i can't believe that you guys think selective enforcement of the rules is a smart thing to do.

I've been making event mods for quite a while. People generally want: To decorate their bases (without grinding for materials -- the first Christmas forced everybody to fight for Santa drops for days, just to build a single Christmas tree) Fight new monsters (Dodo Rex, Dodo Wyvern, Zombie Dodos, etc) New ways to get cool loot (Santa drops, etc) New dinos and new items, such as Flying Brooms during Halloween (like I've done in ARK Hallows Eve, etc) Feel free to look through my mods for ideas. I submitted these for sponsorship, but there didn't seem to be any interest for some reason. ARK Hallows Eve: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1167006915 Dynamically generated Graveyards which have: Erie smoke clouds with custom suspense music Randomly generated gravestones that can be searched, revealing a custom skeleton monster or an admin-configurable loot chest. Flying Brooms Multiple types User-configurable Glowbugs that flutter around the broom, to make it easy to find at night Can fish while on the broom Speed and flight/ground abilities are fully admin configurable Can be picked up and carried in inventory after you land Skeleton Costumes for Players Candy Baskets (Randomly gives "Trick" or "Treat" candies. Tricks make you do something silly, and Treats give you buffs) All the holiday skins/decorations that are fully resizable Clown Balloons that pop when you hit hard objects. Can be used to apply Torpor to teammates, so you can put on a clown mask and jump your friends Custom music player for the Fear Evolved theme music etc, etc Autumn Feast: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1207997302 Added wild Turkey spawns. Turkeys are tamable and breedable. Build the special "Double Barreled Poultry Pulverizer" (shotgun) to hunt birds Insta-gibs Argents, Terror-Birds, Dodos, and Turkeys When a bird is shot with the gun, no XP is given, the bird explodes in a poof of features, and it drops a custom "Bird Carcass" Pluck the Bird Carcass for Feathers (used to craft skins, such as the Chieftain hat) Deep Fryer Placed plucked bird carcasses in the fryer, along with veggies, and craft Autumn Feasts! Autumn Feasts can be placed on tables, and contain a certain number of Servings based on the size of the bird used Players can place plates on tables, and clicking a plate will pull a Serving from a nearby feast. Clicking the plate again will eat the Serving. Eating Autumn Feasts gives you a "Stuffed - Digesting!" buff, which slowly gives the player food/water over time as they digest. It also increases their insulation stat slightly, because they're fat now. Holiday Delight: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=822564503 Added all of the Winter Wonderland decorations back into the game, and added some new ones. Players can build and sit on a custom Santa Sleigh for fun/screenshots Custom music player (Holiday Delight Wreath) plays the WInter Wonderland music The Snowman has been overhauled to produce snow in the area, and all of his sockets have been overhauled to allow every helmet in the game to snap to his head. Holiday Stockings have been fixed to allow player names The gift-wrap present has been updated/fixed, and now include custom sounds/effects when opened etc, etc

Rest in Peace SMO ALCON, Ark Devs, and Ark Social Media, I have reached out to Wild Card a few times over email and messenger, but my requests turned up nothing so far and no responses so I figured I would try the forums. My tribe mate of 3+ years and nearly 5,000 hours has passed away from Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was only 17 years old when he passed. We are on Island Server 46 Official PVE. We have been setup there since the server opened 3 years ago. One of his last requests was for a Laptop so he could play games like Ark while hospitalized. We setup a GoFundMe server wide and reached enough people to get him the funds to do so. Unfortunately, he passed away a couple weeks ago. Pictures of his character sleeping in a bunk bed in front of a transmitter were even used at his funeral as seen in the attached image. SMO was his character name and he loved Gigas. I have fridges full of his podded Gigas of all colors. He even named the base GigaCity. He was an amazing guy and some of you may even have interacted with him as he was a heavy trader on the forums. We on server 46 would like to host a Giga March in his memory where we will run around the entire server with his Gigas following us on ours. All that I ask from the people of Ark or Wild Card is assistance in locating a means to let this Giga March lead to something greater. Maybe a non-profit organization donation, Cancer foundation donation or children cancer hospital donation of some kind. We could have multiple servers run Giga Marches and twitch stream them. I am open to anything and anyway to try and make a difference for future cancer patients. They could be gamers just like the rest of us, but struck down so young by a terrible disease. Please any ideas, mediums or ways to let this turn into something greater would be greatly appreciated. We will miss you SMO.

ARK: Community QOL Catalog ARK: Community QOL Catalog The ARK community catalog is a list of proposed changes from the community and the design team. It's an universal list that the design team will work off of when prioritizing work. This is not meant to indicate that the items listed will go into the game. What is a quality of life request? It's generally considered a minor tweak to something that will result in a major convenience. What's the point of this list? Being a gamer, I realize it's hard to realize what the development team have and haven't seen. This isn't meant to replace our traditional methods of raising concerns and requesting changes to the game. This is a visibility and awareness initiative. If something isn't on this list, it's very likely it's not on a radar. I believe there's some value in knowing that as a gamer. What about bugs and requesting new content? This list is meant to encompass quality of life requests. While that term may be subjective, this isn't a list that's meant to contain new game additions IE: Add 3 Man servers. It's also not meant to be a bug list IE: Fix Manticore landing. While we may benefit from a list that's dedicated to those things, that's not what this list is meant for. What should I expect to happen? What I'd like to do next is have a session with the design team and begin indicating things we aren't going to do. That will leave us with a list of things we'd actually work on. From there, I'd like to indicate when we begin working on an item off of this list Will you keep adding to this list? Yes. I'll only be adding new quality of life requests to this sheet though. There's no update frequency at this moment. What are the statuses? Complete: We've completed and deployed the line item Archived: It's an item that has been seen/discussed with the design and development team New: It has not been seen by the design and development team Queued: The development team likes the idea and will prioritize it to be included in the future. Not Considering: The design and development team has seen the line item but will not be adding it. Why Google Sheets? We have internal systems that we use for project management, and rather than adding another system for them to manage (Trello, etc), I'd rather keep it simple and straightforward for the moment. In addition, we have a forum that I'd prefer to utilize over Trello. If this is something that is sustainable, we'll look at different ways of integrating this into the forum. What do I do if my request isn't on here? If your request is a bug, a new addition to the game, or not generally considered to be a quality of life request, it won't make it on this list. If it is and it's not listed, it'll get added in time. Ok, enough.. Where is it? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oMHjs3UiR2OwvUn0V6QQogL4uT0XRtxrua8Gs6mFa5M/edit#gid=0

Providing a fair, fun, and safe environment for everyone is something we take very seriously here at Wildcard. Building an enforcement team was the first step to making sure that people can enjoy ARK without fear of cheating. Since the introduction of the enforcement team, we've noticed a considerable improvement in the overall quality of life of those playing on our official servers. In severe situations, like someone meshing or duping or spreading information related to such, our first instinct is to try and take action with the intention of preserving the integrity of our official server network. When someone is banned as a result of our Code of Conduct, there is an appeal process that allows for a fair review of the situation. There are always two sides to every story and we want to remain impartial and hear both. Any issue that violates our Code of Conduct is subject to a fair appeal process. When things land in the gray area, our first instinct is to do whatever is in our power to prevent abuse. Upon further review of the situation involving H.O.D Gaming, we felt that it was not deserving of a permanent ban. Videos showing exploit techniques are admittedly a gray area when it comes to enforcement, which is just one of the reasons why the appeal process exists for bans. Several changes each patch are aimed at fixing exploits but the methods that are used are continually evolving; as such, we are always trying to improve our procedures when it comes to situations that affect the player-base. We use these situations to take a look at our internal process and identify areas where we can do better or provide more clarification. There are established methods for escalating exploits to the development team that exist to prevent the spread of information to the general public. The more widely known an exploit is, the more likely it is to be exploited. In these instances you should file your report on the SurviveTheARK website. You can find the link to report abuse or bugs under the support header. We want to make sure that everyone can enjoy their experience on our official network and will continue to take exploit matters seriously. As always, we value community feedback and encourage you to share it with us. Thanks for your continued support and passion for the game! Team Wildcard

Hello Survivors, Today we have some important news regarding the launch of ARK: Extinction on console (Xbox and PS4). After careful consideration, we have decided to move our release date for the console release of Extinction to no later than November 13th. This change does not affect the Steam release of Extinction, which will still be available for purchase on November 6th, at 10am PST. We know this news will come as a disappointment to our console survivors, but we believe that this extra time will result in an improved experience for everyone who plays Extinction on console. Thank you for all your patience and support - we know that Extinction will be worth the wait!

So basically, there’s four new types of kibble which are various tiers of enhanced kibble. You use medium sized eggs to make the first (anky/trike/stego size) large to make the second (allo size) and extra large to make the last (bronto/rex) There’s also a fourth made from special eggs like titanoboa, golden hesperornis, and presumably rockdrake/Wyvern/basilisk eggs as well. If this system completely replaced the original system, with creatures having kibble quality preferences based on their size/value as a tame, it would immensely help reduce the problems with the current system because you only need to farm the eggs of four or so species rather than dozens.

Dear Devs, I love your game. I play it way too much and I've been playing it since the very beginning. I actually just checked on Steam and noticed I have over 1000 hours on it and cried a little bit. I think the game you delivered at launch is incredibly fun, immersive and has been much improved with Early Access. I write this so you understand where I'm coming from and take it as constructive criticism with the goal of improving the game I love. With that in mind, please take a few minutes to discuss internally the fog mechanic as it is implemented right now. I don't have a problem with the concept of fog. In moderation, it adds to the atmosphere of the game, provides variety and even some very interesting situations, especially in pvp. The problem I see is in its implementation, and it's twofold: First, it makes the game look awful. Ark is, at least for me, an absolutely gorgeous game. I am fortunate enough to be able to run it with all settings maxed, and the scenery sometimes is breathtaking. Looking down atop a high mountain watching waterfalls and entire forests with foliage moving with the wind while dinosaurs roam about and light rays dance around your field of view is a joy to behold. You guys did a fantastic job with that. And then 3 times every single day I'm not able to see anything because there's fog - essentially endless smoke that makes everything look terrible and replaces the breathtaking scenery you've worked so hard to build with a greyish/brownish smog that you have to stare at for 10 minutes doing nothing. Second, it happens way, way too often. On my server at least, it happens AT LEAST 3 times every single day. Sometimes four. I've counted five once before I logged off in disgust. It makes no sense. There's never 4 fogs in a day, ever. In fact I got so annoyed by it that I decided to research fog frequency for you. So to help your analysis and hopefully successfully complete my personal crusade against this terrible mechanic, here's a study of the prevalence and behavior of fog in the real world: https://www.researchgate.net/figure/242592499_fig2_Figure-2a-Annual-average-number-of-dense-fog-days-at-National-Weather-Surface-Airwaves You will notice that even on very foggy areas, there are only 20 days of fog per year. Compare this to 3-4 fogs per DAY on Ark and you can see how it would have a detrimental effect on immersion. Now obviously I realize that talking about realism on a game that involves your person being abducted by aliens, thrown into a zoo of sorts and have you shoot dinosaurs in the face and then force feed them meat/berries/mushrooms/poop so they can do your bidding forever and help you kill a giant arachnid and a poop-throwing monkey is utterly ridiculous, so let's discuss it in terms of game mechanics instead and avoid me some embarrassment. Instead of a subtle, beautiful effect that would enhance the beauty and atmosphere of the game, perhaps present only in lower terrain, fog as it's currently implemented is simply show-stopping. You can't do anything because essentially the scenery is replaced by smoke. It starts abruptly and ends abruptly. There's no difference between regions with and without fog. The whole island is covered in it. For some weird reason, it seeps even inside my base. You can't do any exploring, or anything rather than being indoors or around your base, for several minutes. You could argue: "oh but it's challenging". Well, I'm not sure about "challenging". I don't recall a single instance where I was killed by fog. I can recall several instances where I was very annoyed by it. This is not "Ark: Fog Evolved" or the island of Lost (OR IS IT?! the plot thickens...). If you'd be relying on this outdated game mechanic to provide challenge to this game, you would have bigger problems. Let's be honest then. The fog is horrible, and when you have to stop what you're doing 3-4 times per game day because of it, it's just frustrating and annoying. Not challenging. Just annoying. And it's particularly a pity on such an otherwise beautiful game world. I'm pretty sure the root of the problem of frequency was the recent implementation of a 50% chance of fog every time it rains. I'm pretty sure it's also raining more than before as well. So add 50% chance of fog with rain, with increased rain frequency, on top of the overall chance of fog without rain, and you get to where we are: fog 3-4 times per day and a rather irritated girl on the other end. My suggestions to solve the problem: Decrease the frequency of fog. Make it more relevant by limiting its occurrence. Heck, maybe lengthen the duration of the fog, but make it much rarer. This would have two effects: increase the strategic value of fog and dramatically decrease the annoyance factor. It would be more of an event when it happened, but happen less often so it's more relevant. Ideally, make fog a gradual effect, that starts very subtly then slowly creeps in, then slowly fades away. It would give players warning that it's coming, and it would be much more natural. If you could make it vary in terms of altitude, that would be great as well, and also have the added bonus of making it beautiful to watch, much more consistent with the beauty of the rest of the game. Obviously Im not sure this is feasible or what the performance cost of doing so would be, but I leave it as a suggestion. At the very least, give us players control of the frequency of fog on our servers via ini settings. If for some reason I cannot fathom you are happy with how fog works on official servers, at least unofficial servers would have the option to tailor its frequency to their personal preferences. Thanks for reading this very long winded post about something as exciting as fog on a video-game. If you're a player, I commend your patience and level of boredom. If you're a developer, 1. I love you for the game you've made, 2. please fix fog Thanks

Allow an option when placing or once placed to toggle show range on troughs this way we can place Dino's around them or litter our base with them and not have any Dino's out of range. The mechanic exists with Dino leash or Tek generators, just needs implementing into the radial menu for troughs

It's that time of year again, ARK: Survival Evolved is celebrating it's 4th birthday today! It's been FOUR YEARS since we first entered into Early Access on Steam. Hard to believe it's been that long, isn't it? From humble beginnings waking up naked on the beach to saving planet Earth from giant roaming Titans, it feels like we have done it all. And we have loved each and every moment of development, meeting you at events, hosting streams, and watching your content. Thank you so much for all the support you've shown us over the last 4 years. The past year has been a busy one for us. With the help of our vibrant community, we have been able to achieve quite a lot! Today we're taking a look back on all that's happened in the world of ARK in the last year. Things started out strong with the release of ARK on mobile! For the first time survivors were able to hold ARK in their hands and play on-the-go. If you haven't tried ARK on mobile, you can check it out for iOS and Android. Later in June we launched our ARKaeology event, where survivors were greeted with new stunning dinosaur skins and dig sites to unearth dinosaur bones and goodies. With the announcement of our third expansion pack ARK: Extinction coming later in the year, June was also the first edition of the Extinction Chronicles which included the TEK Rex as well as the first piece of corrupted armor. July, August, September brought with it a new TEK dinosaur each month, and one piece of the corrupted armor for survivors to collect. Our modding contest was launched in September, awarding big cash prizes to support our talented ARK modders. October was the final Extinction Chronicles that brought with it the TEK Quetzal and the final piece of corrupted armor to complete the five piece set. In October we participated in TwitchCon and gave influences a sneak peek at the Extinction orbital supply drop game mode. It was the first time survivors were able to get their hands on anything to do with the expansion pack. In November we participated once again in the Extra Life campaign raising money for sick kids charities. Together we raised $76,000+ over the course of our 25 hour live stream on Twitch. On November 6th ARK's third expansion pack ARK: Extinction became available for players to experience! New titans and bizarre element-infused creatures roam the desolate planet Earth and gave players a totally new experience unlike anything before. At the end of November, ARK became available on the Nintendo Switch! December borught the holiday season and with it, the return of Raptor Claus who had a new guest along with him this year: Gacha Claus! Romance was in the air during February with our cheeky Valentine's Day event. In March of this year we were finally able to get the kibble rework and Structures Plus into the hands of players under the name ARK: Homestead. April brought with it the return of Eggcellent Adventure, an event in which players must collect eggs to decorate and craft skins and holiday themed items. In May we announced our most recent mod contest, which just opened for entries! If you're a modder, definitely check out the mod contest and you could possibly win big cash prizes! Last but not least, Snail Games’ open world, voxel-based sandbox survival game PixARK launched for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One & Xbox One X, and PC on Steam this May! Thank You! On behalf of everyone here at Studio Wildcard, thank you for joining us on this journey and for being an awesome member of our tribe! We don't plan on slowing down any time soon, and the year ahead is shaping up to be another great year for ARK. We hope you join us. Keep on surviving!

Survivors, We wanted to give everyone an update regarding the lost character situation on our official servers. A change we made last week resulted in some players vaults to be destroyed and items to be lost. Once we realized the extent of the issue, the decision was made to rollback the Official Server Network. Widespread rollbacks are something we actively try to avoid due to the complications and unpredictable results that can arise from doing so (duping, lost characters, lost progress, etc). It’s not a common practice or occurrence that you as a player should expect. However we realize in extreme circumstances, like last week, there will be times when a rollback of this magnitude is inevitable and the best course of action for us to take. While our goal is to prevent rollbacks from being a necessity, the recent events have highlighted opportunities we have to improve on our rollback processes in the event that it’s needed in the future. Whenever there are in-game issues like rollbacks that have affected your character or items, our Customer Service support team is there to help. After submitting a ticket, a GM receives the request and reaches out to schedule an appointment. Tickets are addressed on a first come, first serve basis. Under normal workload, a GM is able to respond to a ticket within a couple of days. Due to the influx of new tickets related to this recent issue, the wait time has significantly increased. For this, we apologize. We realize this is not an ideal situation and will look at ways to improve that experience for you. It is important to note that currently GM’s must make in-person appointments to address a large portion of the tickets and coordinating with many different players can be a monumental task. Going forward we’re looking at additional ways for Customer Service to be able to address some tickets without needing to meet in-person which will allow for faster turnaround times and a more efficient process overall. The Customer Service team has made this incident a priority and are responding tremendously to the influx of tickets. We all realize how important your characters and items are to you. In light of the increase in tickets due to the rollback we implemented, we will be disabling the auto-decay timer for PC and XBOX on the official network temporarily to allow more time for Customer Service to address the ticket influx. As this affects server performance, this is a one-time exception that is being made considering the circumstances. Once auto-decay is re-enabled in a months time the timers will resume and you’ll need to log on to prevent your structures and tames from auto-decaying. We will give a weeks notice before turning back on auto-decay. We know our community invests a lot of time into their characters, dinos, and items. We apologize for this inconvenience and will work diligently at improving our processes going forward. - The Studio Wildcard Team

As a PvE player myself, you don't speak for me. I use the cryo greatly. I want to continue my Yuty line in the future but currently have other projects. Boom, cryo'd. I have some Basil's to sell but market is currently down. Boom, cryo'd. Added bonus, I can sell them to players without water transmitters on other servers now without having to find a drop or borrow someone else's transmitter. We all know Ark happens so I'm currently raising 20 more boss Theri's. I'll cryo them and if I lose some of my current team, I'll have their replacements ready to go without hurting tribe or server cap. That's just tip of the iceberg. So many uses. These things are great.

I firmly believe, that since the kibble system is a core mechanic, it most definitely should work on each server in isolation, since there are several reasons for people to only want to play on one map, not to mention it will also mean any combination of maps in a cluster is still working. The current kibble system fails in this regard. The problems: Golden eggs are in their current state classed (by me) as unobtainable with regards to making more than just the odd kibble. That means The Island and The Center really have no feasible way of getting Extraordinary kibble. As for the other maps, what I gather from the forums is that Wyvern and Rock Drake eggs work ok and as either of these is present on all the other maps, I guess there isn't much of a problem there. However, I don't know how feasible obtaining these dinos is on those maps. Another thing is the low amount of dinos creating exceptional eggs on Scorched Earth and Aberration or All the dinos without any preferred kibble. The names are too confusing! Basic and Simple are pretty much synonyms and indistinguishable, same goes for Superior and Exceptional Solutions: 1. First, I'm quoting @Eldar Seer since I believe that is a sound suggestion: Another solution could be to change the mechanic for Hesperonis to lay golden eggs so that they lay regular eggs every so often, just like all other dinos, but if they are allowed to hunt, they are guaranteed to lay a golden egg after a certain amount of fish killed, or an interval. But pretty please lower this interval in that case. Here, I'm assuming the devs aren't interested in adding dinos that can be bred into the "Special Egg" bucket. I'm not too fond of the above solution as it's still a hassle and only a minor improvement... another way of solving it would be to bump Yuty eggs to "Special Eggs" since they use the Extraordinary kibble anyway and the idea seems to have most dinos prefer kibble from their own egg level. Of course, a Giga could be bumped as well as they're rarer. 2. Bump the Megalosaurus or the Spino? 3. Give all the dinos that don't have a preferred kibble or special taming method a preferred kibble. That is: (Arthropluera), Compy, Lystrosaurus, Manta, Microraptor, Moschops, Oviraptor, Pachyrhinosaurus 4. Change the names to Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large and Special Kibble. To help visualise this, I entered some data into a spreadsheet: The lists of what kibble a creature's egg creates and what kibble the creatures prefer, is copied from the PC patch notes and the list of what maps each dino can be found on is made by myself by looking at the wiki's list of creatures for each map. This is where I'm most likely to have gotten something wrong. Please let me know of any errors in the data!

PS4 console user I would like to see a special slot added to all items that use gas for power. You put the gas in there, but it stays put, like a dino's saddle when you do a transfer all. So let's say you load up your Indy Grill with meat. You place in units of gas as well, and start cooking. Minutes later, you access the grill, and hit transfer all into your character. The cooked meat transfers back to you, but the gas stays with the Grill in it's special slot. The only way to remove the gas, would be to specifically select it, just like when removing a saddle from a dino.

Unofficial isn't cheating in game, it's only an alternative option for people who don't have hours upon hours, days upon days, just to get wiped. It provides a quicker option where you can have QOL mods that help you move stuff around, set turret options automatically, or just have fun with crazy mods. ARK is a game, and it's supposed to be fun; it just depends on a persons play style and free time they have.

I've done trading before, with some of the biggest traders in Ark. And there have been times when the trade was for a large amount of desired resources. Since there is a transfer limit of 50 stacks of anything at one time, and weight being an issue, sometimes using an alliance as a means of trade is the only reasonable course of action. In such cases I've been invited to an alliance to ease the burden of trading. Many people have and have been honest in their dealings. This is a fairly common practice in trading although going forward it probably won't be. You're right, it's not a bug. It's a horribly designed mechanic that can be exploited. And it's not ignorance about not knowing enough about the alliance system, it's being part of a community and how that community functions through a trade system that is also horribly designed. Instead of snarky comments perhaps show a little bit of freaking empathy for a person who just had thousands of hours wasted and potentially had an amazing game ruined for them. edit: Poppet, if they're still playing send my sympathies. Sucks it happened to them when they've always been fair and nice traders.

We have just deployed v286.104 onto our official servers and unofficials may now also update. There is also a client-side update that single-player survivors should download. An unintended issue with Element Veins being enabled caused some bases near veins to be destroyed. We will not be doing a server-wide rollback as a rollback could cause even more players to lose their progress and characters. However, we will be introducing 3x harvest rates shortly onto official PC servers to allow players to reconstruct their bases as quickly as possible over the weekend. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I admit deleting an entire tribe for just a gas pump being locked or a charge node built on is pretty ridiculous. It should just be that structure and put a metal sign up beside it with a message not to do said action anymore so when that tribe comes back to replace their node they will see it. Or you know, put a message in the tribe log or something i see zero effort being made to notify tribes individually what they are doing is wrong. how am i supposed to see a limited toast server announcment message like that when im at work all day and not playing? maybe i went AFK for an extended period taking a poop and didnt see it either? Sure these are limited cases but they do happen. if these things are going to have harsh consiquenses do us all a favor and put it in the main login screen news section. We dont care that aberration came out back in december. We dont need to know about extincrion chronicals anymore. Those news posts are no longer relevant. use the news post to communicate with your players globally because that is the first thing we see when we start our game is the main menu news screen. Or maybe that makes too much sense.
