  1. Had to share. I got a good chuckle out of it. A bug for sure but thus is the life of an ark player.

  3. Wildcard broke with their own COC acc to structure spam on PVE. In the past player complained about pillar spaming in important spawn areas that safe the spawns. Now i see those players are building trails all over the map! In the past Wildcards Admins also wiped all those spawn saving pillars, declaring it was structure spaming and now WC gave players the opportunity to spam trails, that is completly senseless!

  4. Please notice me Ark senpai, we need the in game store! Please take advantage of my wallet size and give me all the bpearls i can buy! Also, island PVP is the tits! All the people going to SE have made Island PVP like one of those 90's TV shopping sprees where you get the shopping cart and go crazy for 5minutes. All this free loot!

  6. Are you serious? open servers for mods but not for ORP and HARDCORE! Ever since ASA was published we asked for it, do you prefer mod servers? do you care about your players? why did you open a suggestions section if you then ignore the 2 most voted ones?

  7. Wait... you launched Omega PVP servers? The mod isn't meant for PvP, you can literally be immune to other players. It's going to lead to so many complaints from people that think it'll be fair lol. I'll keep the popcorn handy.

  9. It hurts my brain to think about how complex this game is, the work the developers likely have to put into it to balance everything & not break other things while delivering new content. You developers are appreciated!

  12. Guys, this is plum ridiculous.... Yall have got to tone this thing down, I can't even type items that are IN GAME into filter boxes to make quick inventory adjustments.... I cant type "the" or LOL... even "Code of Conduct" is censored... Cant type COOKED MEAT or even capitalize vault names like "Fiber" or "Thatch" and most other common and completely PG and PC words... We need a way to disable it per player, make it default at log in... IDC, but allow us to disable it completely, once in game... Something has got to give on this...

  13. Devman, I'm fairly new to Ark, and I have many complaints already, because I truly WANT to like the game. The concept seems very cool, the execution....well, I guess it could be worse. Unless we're talking about the chat filter of course.... Note: Devman, it is very important that you understand how much I mean every single word of the following..... FIX YOUR CHAT FILTER NOW!!! LIKE RIGHT NOW!!! This is INSANE. Surely this had to go through some sort of QA before being released, right? Fire whoever was tasked with ensuring that the filter wasn't 💩. Heck, you might even be able to sue them for damages it's that bad. I have never, EVER, even remotely seen such a horrid filter in anything, be it game, or website, or anything. You have without a shadow of a doubt set a record for worst chat filter. Now, I understand that you're very proud of your accomplishment, but let's not forget what the goal is here. MONEY! You want money, right? I'm quite certain that you do based on the price of your DLC's. Now, what if I told you that your chat filter was SO BAD, that it was costing you sales? BECAUSE IT IS. I have Ark through GamePass, but I was thinking of getting the Tall Tales DLC, because choo choo! But I'm not wasting my money on this game while I continue not being able to communicate with anyone! You really don't seem to understand WHAT A BIG F'ING DEAL THIS IS! This is not a minor bug or annoyance, this is nearly game breaking. It blows my mind that this hasn't been fixed already. Like how can you release update after update without addressing this??? And I don't wanna hear "Its microsofts filter" because no other microsoft game does this. I would be embarrassed if my name was attached to this circus of a filter. Just take a look at the game industry. Look at all the flops released in the last couple years by big name studios that didn't listen to their customers. Then look at the games of the few studios who did listen. Those games set records. Don't be another studio that's so out of touch with their customers that they can't see what's right in front of them. FIX IT!

  14. Short version : Tame low, Breed High. ---------------------------------------- I Am just getting back into playing after a long break but I would think that taming hasn't changed much while I was gone. I used to play on Official 432 (The Island) a long time ago, The person there who taught me to play never bothered to tame high level dino's, He found it to be more effective to tame low/mid level and level them up putting points into stats you want the high level dino to have, then breed them, take the offspring and do the same thing until you had high level dinos. This gives you high level dino's with the stats you want. It takes some time that way but it's much easier in my opinion than trying to prep to tame a high level alone, plus you should get a better dino. For example, we would tame a Rex, put points into Health, Weight, Stamina and Mele, once it and it's mate were maxed, breed them, then put points into the same stats of the offspring, rinse and repeat. Once we had a high-level offspring they would have better stats in those area's than any we could tame at the same level, especially if we managed to get the bonus' while raising the baby. Often there was nothing that spawned on the island that the final rex could not take. That said, it's been my experience that there is no "one size fits all" strategy for taming, if you give more info about what dino's and what kind of problems you have, it might help people to guide you on how to get better at taming it. If your playing on a server with experienced players, they might be willing to help teach you better strategies for taming the dinos your having problems with.

  15. Welcome back sunken survivors! There was a lot of quizzical activity in the past two weeks, literally! The TSW AMA was full of some amazing questions, and we thoroughly enjoyed answering everything you asked us! We've organised all the questions and answers we gave into this scoop, so you can (maybe) find out something new you didn't know about the project. In addition, NISIS is back casting his magic spells on Ambulocetus, and we've got an amazing WIP of its saddle design to show off! Keep reading to find out more! If this is your first time diving into the deep end, we are a dedicated team of individuals who are looking to spruce up the ocean biome in the same way that Scorched Earth offered a unique, biome specific challenge to survival. New creatures, resources, structures, items and more, all set on a huge custom map, we're looking to give ARK's oceans the TLC they deserve! The main goal is to bridge that huge gap between early and late game ocean exploration, and make it much more viable and more fun to live a life beneath the waves! This is unofficial content and is only related to our mod. It is in no way related with the official game and its content releases. Let's dive into the scoop! AMBULOCETUS TLC PROGRESS That water puppy is looking very well dressed! NISIS has started work on Ambulocetus' saddle design, and it's well and truly shaping up to be something magnificent! We decided early on (as you can tell from the concept art) that this saddle should have a bit more life to it than your average vanilla saddle. The days of plain brown leather straps and seats are gone, say hello to the new hotness! ANSWERS FROM THE AMA After 2 weeks of time, and 22 questions worth of answers, it seems there's a lot of things that you want to know about TSW! Below you can find all the answers to your burning questions, organised neatly into related topic sections! Protoceratops! What does it do, where does it spawn, etc. Our loveable little ceratopsian will most likely be spawning on Scorched Earth/maps with deserts until the TSW map drops. Protoceratops' main niche on the TSW map will be gathering fruit from trees (these fruits provide Aberration mushroom style buffs when eaten). They're also excellent at using their animalistic instincts to predict the weather! However, to give them functionality off of their native map, they'll function like truffle pigs, gathering increased amounts of rare flowers and rare mushrooms. We also got a few questions about combat ability on the little guys. Protoceratops is intended to be an early game mount, so expect more early game damage output and tankiness. While it's still very early in development, it will most likely be like a more agile, less tanky Trike! What went into creating the TSW Team? How do you decide who gets into the team? How would I make a modding team myself? This was a fun question! For the most part, a lot of the people in the TSW team got in thanks to "right place, right time", including me! However, when it comes to adding more team members, that tends to stem from what the project needs most. As we've said many a time, we desperately need some animators and devkit coders, so right now that's what we're looking for. When it comes to making your own team, it's important to consider what you can do yourself, then get someone to help fill in the gaps! For example, if you can do art and 3D modelling, you'd want someone who can animate and code. It's less about team size and more about diversity of skills, though we do have quite a large team to make sure we're covering all our bases when it comes to modding for ARK! However, the most important part of making a team is to make sure everyone gets along! In the TSW team, everyone hates each other! Seriously though, behind the scenes we're basically like a big weird family. All of us are super passionate about the project and just generally really enjoy each other's company, and that makes creating this mod even more enjoyable What creatures are next? How do you decide what's coming next? As mentioned previously, our current plans are to port over the fish from ASE, then start work on Proto. In addition, we have Ambulocetus' TLC coming up too! When it comes to deciding what creatures we add next, it's down to "mysterious brain goblins". Unironically though, we do have a more loosey goosey approach to what comes out next. Since snappin is our one man army when it comes to coding, the most important thing for us to consider is to avoid burnout for him and the rest of the team. It's also why we don't say too many release dates in regards to updates and new content. At the end of the day, we're just a dedicated team of ARK fans, so we try to keep things more fun and casual so we don't stress ourselves out. While we can't make any promises for what's coming next, expect creatures from ASE to be more likely than entirely new ones. As we've been saying half to death, our need for animators is a massive bottleneck, so we really need those before we can start work on the new creatures coming to ASA. How will <insert upcoming creature here> work? What're its stats, abilities and so on? With the way we design creatures, we don't tend to know exact stats until later in the development process. We also don't want to make promises on super specific mechanics in case we are unable to code them in due to limitations in the devkit. However, we tend to base power levels around similarly strong vanilla creatures, tuned up or down depending on their niches. However, all of our upcoming creatures will be tameable! We always found that being unable to tame some creatures in vanilla was really sad. Everything on the roster will function like a proper pet/mount/war-beast! What's the map going to be like on ASA? Will there be ruins? How will building work? Etc etc. First off, how big is it going to be? Simple question, simple answer. Most likely, it'll be a bit larger than The Island. In ASE, the map was comparable in size to a deeper version of The Center. The ocean won't just be a border to the map, it'll be an interconnected habitat full of life, far more interesting than the 100,000 Megalodons of most other maps! Another change from the ASE branch will be redesigning how Scurvy works. We may even end up removing it. Another exciting part of TSW for us is sharing the story behind the map! We are working on this behind the scenes, and can't wait to use ruined structures, like the Sunken City, to do a bit of environmental storytelling! In most cases, much like vanilla ARK, these ruins be able to be built and lived in, allowing for some fun RP opportunities. We aren't ready to show anything involving this story, as it's still heavy in development, but we're very excited to see you uncover the mysteries of TSW! In terms of building, it'd be dumb to have you guys wait all the way until vacuum compartments before you can live under the waves. Henodus is an excellent early game option, but for a more permanent residence Coral tier structures are going to be your go to! These living buildings will be oxygenated by our native Plant Species O, a giant alien kelp that produces fruits filled with air. Again, we're not entirely sure how the mechanics will work in game, but we are planning to have a singular Species O function like an oxygen generator for your whole base. We may end up having to make it more of an AOE like the Henodus though. We want Plant Species O to spawn in the wild like Z does. You'll be able to collect seeds from them to grow your own, or even build directly on top of a wild one for a quick and dirty home in the deep blue! There's also a bit of pressure to your way of aquatic life thanks to... uhh... the pressure! As you go deeper, the crushing darkness of the deep sea can kill! These zones will function like the radiation zones on Aberration, meaning you'll need to be well equipped to explore them, but you won't be punished for starting to dip your toes into the depths. Also, just like Ab, some creatures will be immune to the effects of these areas. Originally, we wanted pressure to be a slowly increasing debuff that restricted creatures to mostly their native depth levels, but decided against it. Realism is great and all, but when it gets in the way of a fun experience exploring a map, that's not worth it! Finally, no map would be complete without bosses! We've got <redacted>, <redacted> and <redacted> planned as our big bosses! Sorry folks, the bosses are going to be staying secret for now. We're still deciding on if they'll be world or arena bosses, but we do know that we want players to be able to bring almost anything to fight them! A lot of the team agrees, it really sucks breeding up a cool creature, only to be barred from using it in a boss fight because the game said so. What about ASE? We've said this one before, and we'll say it again. We'd love to keep both versions of the mod updated, but with snappin as our only coder that's just not possible. We're focusing our efforts purely on the ASA branch, as that's a lot more promising for modding. What about the future of TSW? Any new creatures planned? ARK 2? Other projects? As it stands, there will be no more unique creature additions to the creature roster. Our project is super ambitious already, so we can't fit more creatures in the pipeline. In terms of other projects similar to TSW, there's nothing planned at the moment, but that's not to say that it isn't out of the question. Same goes for ARK 2, we'd much prefer to finish everything we need to get done for TSW in ASA than jump ship another time, especially since we know so little about it. COMMUNITY CORNER We should start calling this the community chasm, because most of the time it's a big hole with nothing in it! Only joking around of course, but if you do have anything you'd like to share, please feel free to send over some screenshots, artwork/fanart, videos or anything in between! There's a submssions channel in our Discord, or you can tag us @ARKSunken or with the hashtag #sunkenscoop on Twitter! That's all for this edition of the Sunken Scoop, thanks for tuning in! Hope you're excited to see more of Ambulocetus, and thank you for submitting so many questions to the AMA! Come vibe in our discord if you want to see more TSW! Have a wonderful timezone! If this is your first time seeing TSW, check out the links below to find out more! Please note that if you want to play our mod, you need both the map and creature mod active. 16. For torpor my server just worked around it by lowering the levels they spawn at and raising basically every other stat, so say a level 20 has the stats of a level 60 but still has level 20 torpor.

  17. Hi, I am trying to find out ways to adjust or change some mechanics. I want to make my game more challenging and realistic. I either want to make use of Mods, change the game ini's or look for ways to mod some things in myself... So if there arent any ways to change these things. I would like to know if there are some good tutorials to mod these changes in myself. Im looking for options to change: - Torpor infliction of animals, or rather the amount of torpor/poison a creature can handle. - Change what you can and cannot craft/repair on the go. Like (cloth) armor or even bow. You are going to need at least some additional tools or a table/stool to make these. You cant climb naked into a tree and come down with a bow... - Changing the size of my character model and dinos, You can change it with the ChangeSize command, but its not permanent and glitchy. Also if you change your own size, its like you bend your knees and then say: Look how small I am - Remove saddle engrams for birds and other dinos. I tried it in the game-setup-menu, but they keep comming back, and for some reason they even just unlocked themselves 0.0 - The base movement speed of dinos. I want to play around with this. Make Birds faster, Dung beetles slower, Ankylos faster and Pegomastax slower... Am I on the right forum? Or are there good suggestions about other forums?

  19. That's not how it works, all patches on every game that is multi-platform has to get permission/certification from the corporations if they want that patch on those systems. It's like passing an inspection that makes sure it's "safe" for their platforms (has no chance to compromise it and/or basic stability testing). Every game out there that wants each platform to have the same version (and not different) goes through this. This is why most games take extra days/weeks/months after PC to release the same patch on consoles. So in this case, the holdup is directly on Sony/Microsoft taking forever to approve the game changes. I know you're being facetious, but naturally that's not how it works either 😛 Ever since UE4, the game can be directly upgraded to newer Unreal Engine versions henceforth. They just decided to monetize it, but I totally get the joke (at least I hope it was a joke) or any worries some might have from this lol.

Nevertheless i can play only on orp serv cause my time play is irregural if i play with big tibe on off pvp I can't have and move forward with a project. if i play solo or with little tribe we can survive on off pvp. soo orp are the only way for players like me. i have played on eu antiraidoff 5 since 2019 until it's wipe. and yes we have somes trouble with orp abuse... but we can play and have fun keep our base i don't undestand why we don't have the orp off on ascended... this clusteur are really liked i remember when Gen two are release this cluster (eu antiraid off5) are full. Regulirement 200 players Distributed on all 11 maps.

  23. dear mod developers, I ask you since you are now running the game, could you create mods that allow you to play in PVP ORP and PVP HARDCORE so maybe WC will add servers for these modes like the omega mod?

  27. What does any of that have to do with UE5? Heck, about the only thing WC said that was true about ASA is that it's running under UE5. Almost everything else they said was marketing lies or just good, old-fashioned lies. Those things happen with other games running under UE5 also, why would you think that UE5 would magically fix these issues? p..s. Just to be clear, I'm not defending WC, as I said above they've been dishonest about nearly everything about ASA. I'm just curious why you're complaining about the one thing that's true, that ARK was imported into UE5?

  33. So another week's wait or more for Bees? That's ridiculous. You might aswell open transfers for Scorched since you already let people get away with transfers through exploits. How is it that even basic things such as a BP rate fix or allowing bees to spawn has taken so long? You should check your reviews, the game we love is tanking.

  36. If you're playing single-player, or running your own server, that's really not cheating. Sometimes the game makes mistakes, or it could just be from random bad luck on the spawn points, and sometimes ARK just has glitches. Doing a dino wipe gives the game a chance to spawn everything fresh and maybe do a better job this time. If you just decided to spawn in the creatures you want, that would be cheating, but doing a dino wipe to give the game a chance to fix things is not cheating, that's just fixing glitches.

  40. I can tell by this comment alone that you buy NFTs. Micro transactions shouldn't exist, at all, especially if it means you don't have to play it. And it's not a popular trend to have micro transactions; it's a stain on the gaming industry because of people like you enabling greedy developers to ask for even more money "bEcAuSe OtHeR gAmEs HaVe MiCrO tRaNsAcTiOnS". Shame on you for being a pay whale, and go play Genshin Impact or My Hero: Ultra Rumble if you wanna spend all your money to instantly win a game instead of actually playing it. Here's a perfect quote about your little "opinion": "...What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

  43. I am like most people that play ark ascended pve official servers that wish for the timers to be halved breeding raising hatching ect ect The rates are also not worth our time as hitting an obsidian node and getting 6 obsidian per node is actualy a joke I understand this is a survival game but when the servers are full of 70 players and everyone wants or needs obsidian then how is 6 per node supposed to be sufficiant for all 70 players If the rates can not be upgraded then all things we have to make with those materials should not be like my mosar saddle that needs 50k metal to make 1 saddle that would take arround 6 months for me to be able to collect enough metal to make 1 saddle the bp has been thrown away as its completly usless I understand wild card wish for us to spend lots of time playing on ther game but these timers and rates are having the opposite affect and detering people from playing ark ascended Its also my oppinion that those who dont want the rates to be better on officail pve or timers to be cut down are dupers and massive tribes actualy selling ingame resorces for real cash and maybe a tiny few that actualy like the tremendouse grind As the servers empty of upto 75% of the people when the rates are stopped then that shows how many people want better rates as they stop playing as its to much of a grind I only play the game when the rates are increased now but would love to be able to play more just like the 75% of people that leave the game when the rates are cut

  44. We've just deployed a new type of server across the network (for the various game types) that we'll be referring to as "Expire" (which is what you can search for in the session filter). These servers will be online until 10 am PST / 1 pm EST on June the 1st. We're preemptively using our allocation for The Center to host some additional sessions that players can travel onto to farm, tame, and experience the Scorched Earth Gameplay. The same transfer restrictions apply in that you are only able to download your character, but you can freely take anything off. This is to help reduce load off some of the other servers, or provide players an option for those who just want to jump onto Scorched Earth temporarily. Please note that these servers will no longer exist after 10 am PST / 1 pm EST on June the 1st, so if you intend to use them remember to transfer your items/creatures/characters off before that date as nothing will be saved beyond that time period. 45. Any news whether native linux server support is planned for ASA? I know there are walk arounds by using docker etc, but i would rather see native support. I've been waiting for release of linux server files from launch and i didn't want to buy the game before that, so i wonder whether i should keep waiting or just completely forget about it.
