  1. Hey guys, where do I report a server outage? 😂😂😂

  2. TEK creature variants and Cryopods will not be available. Cryopods/fridges were the single best QOL ever added to the game, so much so you made it so they could be learned on every map. Not including them at the start is the dumbest decision in a long history of dumb decisions by WC/Snail and shows you really don't care about QOL and it was only added to reduce tickets on your end and not about the player experience. You can keep your bad decisions and I will keep my money. Thanks for making this an easier decision for me.

  3. You can recover and upload it to SP. Check out my guide. The topic of pillars is in another topic, but I doubt it would be resolved. I was in Ark from 2016 until the last day. And for your information, I have dinos in my cryobals from the first days of my adventure with ARK. You are so used to balls that it will be difficult for some people to play. In large tribes and close-knit groups it goes relatively smoothly if you have a strategy, if you play alone or, like me, with my wife, it is quite a challenge to keep, for example, a gigantus child and, even more so, to complete 100 % of print. That's why I don't want to go through this again. I have devoted 22,969 hours of gameplay to ASE, almost 8 years. And now this is what I have to pay to download my dino collection to SP, and there are exactly 10,400 Dinos. Including 1 dino from the first day of the ARK adventure. So far, no one has robbed us (our 12 servers) and we refreshed them every 3/4 days during this whole time. Unfortunately, ASE stole 945 days from me in total. I don't regret it, those were great times. But when ASE closed, WC/SG somehow freed us from this work. I probably won't BUY ASA, I'm not interested in investing my time again in starting the game over again just for a cookie with more sugar. And here I also want to thank the players for such a great time spent in ARK, thank you on this forum for such great conversations, observations, etc., but above all, ARK is the players, without them this name would not exist and I would not have met so many wonderful people, forum and in the game itself. Once again, many thanks to all of you, you were the ones who built what we have today. The WCSG only gave us "engine" Thank you. P.S. And I can only download ASA for my collection when it hits my board for free xd

  5. What an emotional day it was for us Ark players. You guys really did close the servers with grace and it was very much appreciated by us who spent long hours over the years building up our little worlds. Just wanted to thank you for that, it really shows how much you guys care about us ❤️. Looking forward to ASA and what's to come 🙂

  6. Looking forward to no longer purchasing the game! I don’t understand what is going through their heads. No cryoes, no movement speed levelling, no steam crossplay on launch, removed mutation cap, like what????!? I’m literally in a discord of 30 people discussing this and all 30 of us aren’t buying the game anymore 💀😂💀😂💀🥸

  7. Well the day has come. Ive played this game since 2016, active the whole time. But all i can say is good riddance. Good riddance to the lag, good riddance to the random crashes, good riddance to the woeful lack of maintenance on official servers, good riddance to the arrogant way you've treated official players, most of which 'were' your most dedicated long term fans. But mostly good riddance to an inexperienced, incompetent poorly managed developer who's only claim to fame will ever be they got lucky with 1 game. Then because of said inexperience, incompetence and poor management did nothing but ruin that game. And obviously the inexperience and incompetence continues, no other developer openly expects people to pay for them to learn how to use new tech. What a joke, this is the 2nd time youve charged players for an 'unfinished' early access game essentially expecting them to not only test your product but then wait patiently for you to fix bugs. Like we did last time. Well not this time. Fool me once....

  8. Wildcard, you killed the heart of the game when you refused to give us any option to save our tames and progress to single player, instead forcing us to pay through the nose if we want to save years of work. So many players have left in disgust at how you've handled the shutdown. ASA will be the same old bugs and glitches, just with a shiny new coat of paint. May all your office chairs sprout thumbtacks and the floors turn to Lego, so you can experience a fraction of the pain you've put us through. May all your desks get loose screws and suddenly collapse.

  9. Removing movement speed is crazy! Can the game just not handle it? Or do you think your doing us a favor, bc you are not 😭

  10. This is good to hear. I do hope that this new theme still keeps recognizable ARK tune - the tune in almost every map theme. It is iconic of the game and while I hope for a new ASA theme, please PLEASE keep that tune!

  11. Thank you. For giving us ASE, for acknowledging how shutting down the ASE official network is significant but doesn't mean the end of ASE, and, of almost equal importance, for the ASA Q&A.

  12. NO CRYOPODS LOL Servers will be tame Capped in the 1st month of people playing, it will be like Gen2 all over again. and the best part........ everyone get ready for the joining server failed messages "server is full" XD

  13. no Cryopods at launch, no info at decay time improvements, still 255 insane mutation per stat.. give us ASE source code :V hints: on unofficial mutations aren't a problem: usually insane breeding factories are not allowed and difficulty levels al already changed by admins and mods.. really you are missing the opportunity to improve the official servers.

  14. Finally, the Shasta. Nice dossier - I gotta give you guys credit there. Cool Q&A - I'm sure it might help a few people out. Best crunch since many months ago, though that's not saying a lot 😋

  16. You fool they have mentioned very little NEW info the rest we KNEW since the first few months of ASA release news. The new stuff cryopods ... and no doubt all the QOL dinos and other stuff that made new players lives easier, plus mutation cap (kinda) annnnnd what else? oh oh oh did they mention we can ping and zoom the minimap in though ... ooohhhhh shiny /cough a MOD already had this ....... But dont worry in less than a YEAR they have REWRITTEN the codebase when the entire game took years just to get where it was PLUS years of ongoing patches / addons etc HARDLY any of the FAQ / notes whatever you want to call it is 'new' info and the bits they did mention xplay / xsave (lol) is WIP ... the rest was already covered .... all you had todo was READ the other CC's we had at the start.

  17. So when there is an exploit, console/windows players get to abuse it for much longer and even get an early warning before it gets fixed. Nice. But overall it seems like some thought went into the problems that come with crossplay, so not all bad i guess. Nerf rhyniognatha. There shouldnt even be a debate about that, it is so obvious this creature shouldnt be in the game as it is in ase. While youre at it, nerf all the other op creatures that came with other maps. Good. This is extremely disappointing. It was my most anticipated change for asa. The (nearly) unlimited mutations are ruining the games balance. I made a suggestion here with more details and reasons. Oh you´re still working with an anti cheat? Crazy! But seriously, you couldnt get on top of cheating in the slightest for the past years, i have never seen such rampant cheating in any other game. It takes some more than this little paragraph to convince people that you actually come up with working anti cheat systems. Maybe start with acknowledging how bad it is in ase. Give us more details please. This faq was a surprising and nice change of communication, thanks for that but we need more of that before launch. Including a list of game modes/servers that will be available. I would personally like to see some kind of classical mode (not seasonal and ran by stinky snail games) without all the stupid op maps and without all the stupid op creatures. Furthermore id like to see orp-clusters again, possibly with improved orp-system like i suggested here. So you didnt want anything to do with all the ase-related dramas anymore and decided to just stay quiet, and now want to start "fresh" with asa? Kinda puts you under pressure now... And as i said, please dont wait for asa launch to give us more details about the changes you´ve made.

  18. The movement speed changes aren't good for many reasons, but I think for the ARK devs the worst reason is going to be design scope. Removing movement speed will create numerous problems than it will solve, adding more to their workload. Not only will there be many implications in PVE, such as quite literally not being able to jump far enough to complete jump puzzles or being able to run away from any dinosaur on the beach for example, it will have many more implications in PVP. Just wait until PC players are sniping crossplay console players who are running around at a laughable 100% speed. Join and spectate MTS arena for 5 minutes and you'll understand the futility of removing movement speed. It'll make players significantly weaker than dinos and have less counter-play against them. Knocking people off dinos will be the meta as players will not be able to run away, dodge, or get back on their own dinos. It will make PVP less vibrant and have less strategic/tactical depth. Furthermore, cheating remains an issue and cheaters will become even more powerful as aimbots will be even stronger against slower players and players will have less options to deal with it such as running behind cover/line of sighting. Movement speed helps newer players significantly more than it helps the old. It is their only defense and the only way they'll have a chance against some of us who have been playing for 5+ years. Now you can dig your feet in and attempt to completely redesign the game, adding 1000s of hours of development time in order to constantly fix the issues that arise or you can go with what you know that already works. This is better for the existing playerbase, it gives newer players a chance against the old and it will allow the devs to move on to ARK 2 in a timely manner (which is where big sweeping design changes like this should be instead of a remaster). At least consider a cap of 160-170% which will remove the outliers and hopefully mitigate whatever reason you think these changes need to be implemented for.

  19. Why no Halloween event with launch in end of October? It would of been perfect timing and a good way to start up Ark ascended.. Also why stop leveling movement speed for players. Having points put into Movement speed was very important for some of the gen 2 missions on alpha difficulty. I hope gen 2 missions will be rebalanced so that they are possible to complete. Please be more clear with your explanations wild card!

  20. I like most the balancing changes. But no player leveling movement speed? Should be capped at a certain % instead of no leveling at all.

  22. Fr bro it's like they don't even think just do, how do they expect consoles to run UE 5 with massive land bases with tame cap. And the no cryos means once again slaving away for hours constant meat runs just raise 1 baby and for it to die

  23. there are some good things in this, some bad. My main issue (and i hope i'm wrong but...) is this feels like a giant rug pull. Like you are working as hard as you can to cobble something together for some screenshots and a short trailer. then hoping as many people as possible buy it day 1 before all the videos start coming out about what a broken, buggy, god awful mess it is. I might still buy it, but if i do it damn sure won't be on day 1.
    3 points
  24. So we won't get any trailer until the day before or the day you actually release ASA in other words, which is just typical of wildcard.amd if you had not let snail games WASTE your money from ASE then you would be in a better position than you are now considering that the game has made the best part of 1 billion dollars for you....oops them which they just wasted away on failed projects and have even beged nitrado for a loan as they can't afford the server cost's.and now there selling more of there shares as they have wasted the biggest part of that loan as well....

  25. So yall mention doing your best to put a stop to hackers, but what about Snail Games abusing their power on official servers? With how much the community has exposed them for it you would think this would be addressed with the QnA.

  26. RIP Ark. It's been fun 8 years, but I don't think I will have the strenght, energy and time to start all over on your official servers. I still think it would have been more sensible to launch ASA and have it run paralel with ASE for a bit, so people get used to it and could migrate to a more polished version as at launch it will be a mess, before shutting ASE down... anyways farewell, survivors. and good luck

  29. As we stand on the horizon between the ending of an era and the dawn of the next, we'll take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary journey we've shared. Your exuberance, sense of community, and the vivid tapestry of experiences you've woven in the world of ARK: Survival Evolved have truly brought our creation to life. You’re the beating heart of our “little” dinosaur game. Some might consider the upcoming transition a bittersweet occasion punctuated by a sense of loss and sadness. We feel otherwise. Unofficial ASE is in great hands. Yours. But, as one chapter concludes, another unfolds – and again our stories will mix with yours to create something greater than the sum of two parts. Remember, it's not farewell, it’s “see you real soon” with more ASA news, reveals, gameplay and, ultimately, the launch of ARK: Survival Ascended near the end of October! So, Survivors, thank you for eight incredible years and here’s to many more. With heartfelt gratitude and dino-sized enthusiasm, The Studio Wildcard Team Download in full resolution Species: Shastasaurus carmentellum Time: Late Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Curious This odd variant of Shastasaurus seems as curious about humans as its distant relative Ichthyosaur. It sure got my attention when one of these sea monsters swam up to have a look at me! Luckily, its bulk turns out to be worse than its bite. Shastasaurus has weaponized the ultrasonic chirps it uses for echolocation. It can focus those sounds into a tight cone that disorients prey, or widen the effect to blast apart a school of fish in a concussive wave. Taming a Shastasaurus was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I brought along some Ichthyosaur pals to entertain their larger cousin while I scraped some of its itchy barnacles off with a sickle. From then on, I had a gigantic escort in deep water. Some tribes manage to kit out their finny friend with a periscope, torpedo bays, and even a cargo hold… Those Shastasaurs end up looking like something from the old kids’ cartoon with cavemen who turned dinos into cars and submarines! Hey Survivors! We’re going to recap some of the information we’ve shared regarding ARK: Survival Ascended in this crunch, along with touching on some topics that haven’t been covered and expanding on some that have! If you’ve been following along for the last few months, you might already know some of this information, but we’ve seen a lot of questions lately, so let’s start with the basics before diving into some of the more frequently asked questions from the community. IF YOU ALREADY KNOW ABOUT ASA, FEEL FREE TO SKIP THIS BIT :-)... What is ASA? ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA) is a next-generation remake of our beloved ARK: Survival Evolved, harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5. When is it launching? The launch is just around the corner! We’ll reveal the launch trailer screenshots and set the game live at the end of October. Where can you play it? You’ll be able to play ARK: Survival Ascended on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5, and PC (Windows/Steam). Why are you doing it? There are various reasons we’ve decided to take this approach. One is to refine the development team’s skills on UE5 and how far it can be pushed for next-generation titles (ARK 2).. Another factor is for business reasons. Developing a next-generation sequel while no longer releasing paid expansion packs has proven difficult for our Studio’s long-term survival, so we need to continue generating revenue while we develop ARK 2. And finally, the ultimate reason: whereas ARK2 is being designed as a Souls-like adventure, we want to provide the community with an evergreen classic-ARK experience, one that can continue to grow over time on a cleaned-up code base, leveraging new technological advancements not only in the industry but also what we’ve been working on with the ARK Franchise as a creative whole. How are you leveraging the new technology? Another question could result in quite a mouthful of a response, so we’ll try to keep it simple. Here’s what’ll be coming with ASA: ARK’s codebase has been rewritten, and its artwork recreated by hand to take full advantage of Unreal Engine 5, including its Lumen and Nanite systems. Advanced graphics features such as dynamic water (Custom FluidNinja integration), complete interactive physical foliage, and more systems to create a beautiful, immersive, next-generation experience. Cross-platform Modding: we’re working with Overwolf to provide an industry-first cross-platform modding experience, where mods created on PC are delivered directly to your consoles from a custom modding backend and in-game user mod browser. The modding capability for creators includes using the full power of Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprint, to create anything, any kind of new content or gameplay, within ARK. Full Cross-platform Multiplayer New content, QOL improvements, balance, and gameplay changes, including but not limited to: Over time we’ll be releasing 11 Brand-new creatures (More than any previous DLC expansions) New mini-map system (pan, zoom, pings, etc.) New structures (display cases, smaller TEK Teleporters, building pieces) & major building-system overhaul New Gameplay Items Dynamic navigation mesh and creature pathfinding overhaul (AI pathfinding) Total UI Revamp Photo Mode New camera systems for players and dinos, with the option to revert to the old systems. New Player Character Assets with Revamped and Improved Customization Gamepad virtual-cursor UI input system New Dino-Manager system (view the real-time status and track-locations of all your creatures at will through one unified menu) … and much more! A key thing to remember is that ARK: Survival Ascended will include all its previously released DLCs and maps in its remastered form and will have its own content roadmap. This will include new story content for the game, its own gameplay/QOL changes, new DLC, seasonal events, and more (some things we’re not quite ready to talk about yet!) Alrighty, it’s safe to start reading again! Q: Will there be a preorder? Get access to the game early? Exclusive Content? Pre-loading? We aren’t planning on making ARK: Survival Ascended available for pre-order. You can purchase the game towards the end of October when we reveal the trailer and related media. There are no plans to allow anyone to access the game early; you will all have access to it at the same time, and no intentions to release exclusive content only available at launch. As we intend to set the game live immediately when it’s ready to purchase, you cannot preload it. Q: Tell us more about Crossplay? How will that work? Okay, so we will have a 3-phase system for rolling out crossplay. This is because it allows us to iterate more rapidly after launching a fresh title and makes managing our operations much less complicated, allowing us to deliver you a better experience. Also, we’re waiting for updates on the engine/plugin side to enhance the experience further ;). Phase 1: Launch - Time Frame: October TLDR: Crossplay will be enabled for Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and PlayStation 5. Crossplay will not work for Steam PC at launch. Why? Frankly, when we launch the game, we’ll have to patch a lot because you’re going to find things we missed or break the game in ways we never identified, and we’d prefer to be able to patch the Steam platform very quickly to resolve these issues. Once the game has passed the launch hurdles and has entered a more stable state, certifying builds on other platforms will be much quicker, and so, at that point, we’ll look into enabling full crossplay. We’ll split Official Servers between the respective ‘crossplay’ platforms. We also intend to host some servers that are crossplay only between Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 to keep out the PC Master Race folks (namely, so you stop asking us about it on Twitter (X) :)) Phase 2: Full Crossplay - Time frame December (This is a Wildcard ETA ;)) TLDR: Crossplay is now enabled for ALL PLATFORMS. Meaning Steam can play with Xbox and vice versa. At this point, we will be at a stage where the game can fully enable crossplay for all platforms. So we'll be merging the PC Steam network with the specific "Xbox, Playstation, and Windows" network. What this means is that we’ll be aiming to patch all platforms simultaneously and keep them running on the same version, and it is at this point Steam users will be able to play on the same servers as their console friends directly. This applies to both Official and Unofficial servers, but don’t worry; we’ll still have a separate Official network online that is restricted to just Xbox and PlayStation users (without PC)! Phase 3: Cross Progression - Time frame: 2024 Cross Progression isn’t going to be enabled with Full Crossplay because we’ll need to integrate some forthcoming updates to the Epic Online Services system. We don’t have an exact timeframe for that because it’s out of our control, and the integration may take some time. Plus, we’re still working out the kinks for how we intend to enable cross-progression for existing accounts, so we’ll share more on that later. Q: What changes have been made to servers? So we’ve made a few changes to servers, first of all we’ve increased the stasis-replication range for structures (significantly) and dinos, by about +70%. This means you’ll be able to see them from further way before they “de-render”. Additionally, we’ll be making use of instanced rendering for all our structure tilesets (think building pieces), meaning bases are going to run a lot better! At the moment, we’re still keeping the servers capped at 70 players. With a lot of the other changes we’ve made, we’ve had to make some trade-offs and right now the tech (nor hardware) isn’t quite there yet to increase the slot cap much higher. We’ll be evaluating this over time and see whether we can increase it as further engine upgrades and optimizations' come through (either via Epic or us). Of course, player-run unofficial servers can increase to 100+ players, and that is highly viable if they reduce the stasis-replication range or lower the maximum dino counts. Q: What content changes have been made for Day 1? Caves, Rafts, Cryopods, TEK, Giant Squirrels…? This is a hot topic, and we wanted to clarify our intentions, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some things have slipped through the cracks. Generally, we intend to release content based on the map it launched with. It doesn’t matter WHEN it launched; for example, the Rafts will be available on Day One and the Rhyniognatha on The Island; however, TEK creature variants and Cryopods will not be available. We have done a pass on caves with some balance adjustments to choke points and improved the caves' internal appearance. We were hesitant to make dramatic changes to cave balance as, while the meta in ASE had flaws, we didn't feel a complete overhaul was wise. Between these changes and other adjustments throughout the game, we expect to see some shifts in the meta players create. We plan to monitor the impact of these moving parts in the hands of thousands of players and pivot as needed post-launch. Honestly, there are a fair number of changes on the gameplay side: Overhauled Building Disabled leveling of movement speed on creatures and players on Official Network (Unofficials can change this via config, of course) -- we see the conversations, we already did it a while back 😜 Small Dino QOLs Breeding Changes This one sounds scary, we know. Our Product and QA teams were freaking out about it, but generally, our intention hasn’t been to change the strength of creatures but to make the implementation cleaner. Previously, mutations were based on a creature's wild stat multiplier, and now we’ve given it its multiplier. This has led to some creatures receiving some buffs/nerfs in particular stats, but we intend to rebalance this over time as we evaluate their roles in the meta. We’ll want your feedback on that :). We have NOT FIXED getting more than 20 mutations, but we removed the 255 cap so that servers can specify a cap. We’ll leave it as is for our Officials (255), but it’s open to adjustments. Of course, these examples don't cover everything you can expect to see redesigned in ASA. We could wax lyrical about the environment, water, sky, and how adorable wild babies are...but we'll let the game speak a thousand words really soon! Q: Character Creation Overhaul It was paramount to our art team that we overhaul the Character Creation system for ASA so that characters looked less survival-jank. And we successfully did that….but then we decided to say screw it and allow you to mess with all the bones and scalers anyway. So yeah, you can make something that feels nice and polished, or you could choose to make a character of questionable proportions that looks like it belongs to ARK: Survival Evolved (but next-gen). Q: Is there new Gareth Coker music? Sorry, in main menu, can't hear you over the new Gareth Coker music Q: DLSS, RTXDI, and FRAMEGEN. We’re working very closely with Nvidia on all the things. They’re actually in our game code themselves, doing all the things. You can read more about these systems on their site: https://blogs.nvidia.com/, but our goal is to launch with as much as we can or have it shortly after that. Q: Unreal Engine 5.2? Why not 5.3? Unreal Engine 5.3 is a relatively recent release, and we’ve been keeping up with all the changes that Epic is working on. It’s too soon for us to integrate it thoroughly, and quite frankly, quite risky so close to launch. For now, we’ve decided to cherry-pick some things from 5.3 that we like (such as Navmesh improvements, as well as the landscape), and over time, we’ll continue to upgrade the entire engine to 5.3 and beyond. Q: GAMEPLAY WHEN? You will 100% be able to see the game via a trailer/screenshots before you purchase the game in October. Not getting any more specific than that Q: What about cheaters? We will still be working with an anti-cheat for ASA. We won’t be sharing any more information about Anti-Cheat as it doesn’t benefit anyone to do so. This anti-cheat will also work cross-platform, and we intend to create more systems to use in our live operations to battle against cheaters… which, again, we won’t talk much about because it’s better if we keep that close to our chest :). We’ll be doing another bounty program with ASA, so you can look forward to making some money while making hackers cry as they lay in bed alone, with their parents disappointed in them. Q: The Survival of the Fittest 5.0? So, we’re going back to the name SOTF. It felt easier to say than TSOTF, but more importantly, SOTF will not be available at launch. We still intend to do it, but we’re putting all our time, resources, energy, sweat, and blood into remastering the game to make it as good as possible. After launch, we’ll be tackling remastering SOTF (as an in-game downloadable Mod) for a Winter Release! Q: With no SOTF, will there still be a queue? There will not be a queue system at launch, given that we intended to have it implemented with SOTF. We’re still weighing up the technicalities of implementing this and whether it’s worth it for the game -- depends on the direction we take SOTF -- but we hear the concerns about “queue botting”, and will make sure that it’s a server-side configurable that can be disabled (and will be on our Official PvP servers) as well as implement measures to prevent this (such as blocking from the same connection, hardware, etc). Q: Events? Extra Life? ASA Content! Yes, we’ll still be doing these. The first ASA event will be Extra Life, bonus rates ‘n all dat jazz, and then we’ll be doing our first content-related event in December with the launch of Winter Wonderland! And just as mentioned above, ASA has its own content roadmap, but it’s too soon to talk about that ;). Q: Creature Submissions, what’s the plan? Honestly, it’s taken us so long to get the Shasta dossier done because of the design and tech investigation required to ensure it was viable for us to create that creature’s abilities without destroying the game. It’s a challenge, but we’re getting it done. This kind of threw a spanner in our calendar for doing creature votes. We might take a break because voter fatigue is creeping in. Plus, once ASA ships, the meta might establish a need for different types of creatures, and we want to give you some time before the next vote to think about that. Q: Developer Q&As, blogs, vlogs, streams, etc. We have intentionally been very quiet the last year as we’ve worked aggressively on shipping ASA; once the game is out the door, we intend to do a 180 and will become more directly engaged with the community (we’ve been reading and monitoring throughout, trust). This could include more Q&As, streams, etc., but the general idea is that our quiet days are ending with the launch of ASA and then you get to see directly what we’re cooking up! Thanks for reading the Q&A, guys! It was great answering all of your questions. 30. lol, you don't need an early access and lie to listen community to discover that if you put hands on fire you get them burned. cryos are meant to make the game playable and not a time consuming tamagochi. bad decay time settings already ruined PVE experience (looking at you power cables!). Summed on no changes on mutations mechanics as well no real hint about fighting structure spamming and huge breeding factories, is just making ASA pve official already worse than ASE official before starting.

  31. Lol that’s exactly how players are gonna tell newer players to us veterans. Probably a few of us will be speed running the notes to gain levels but the difference is we know what to take into that fight. I’m hopeful that people are more respectful this time around with their bases, building in spawns and not having massive lag boxes for bases. Or hoping that WC will drop more than enough servers on release for we won’t get stuck with the “server full” message.

  32. Yes I know ... I WAS there lol but certain tribes box / squares mauled the official EU servers I played on clogging them to death with anything to max tames, events were even worse servers more down than up it was literally GL in raising on the island on PvE - yes I played 'soft-mode' but I enjoyed it. The newer players are in for a shock thats all i can say - no where to run just the island ... hehehehehe

  33. Oh WC *facepalm*, it’s nice to see that is some actual information in this crunch, like there should have been this whole time. Now for the critique, I’m sure most of us understand that this is a game that the whole point is for you to “figure out” how to survive, just like real life, but the less than intelligent decisions of not allowing leveling of movement speed and no cryopods is frankly depressing. I too have many years and 10k+ hours in this game and remember the early days before cryopods and it was straight up hell! Anyone who says “I’m glad there are no cryopods”, never tried walking 18 rexes or theris a yuty and deadon to an ob for a boss fight and getting them all into the portal boundary, nor tried raising tames with longer than a 10 hour handfeed, or tame something across the map that you need and have to walk it back to base and hope that it doesn’t get killed and ya waste 3 hours, narcs and kibble that it took hours to make and not to mention the time looking for that creature. I have, did and those days were the absolute worst times I’ve had in this game. The only thing that eased that was fast flyers and platforms on quetzs, then the flyer nerf came in and killed that method. When you guys introduced cryopods you opened a can of worms that you can’t put back in the can and they changed the way players play the game. In a way it does feel like you could care less about actual QOL. Solo and players with smaller tribes are at a disadvantage to bigger tribes just because cryopods won’t be there, thanks WC (sarcasm). Not to mention, just because ASA is on a new engine with the ability to handle server and render lag doesn’t mean that there won’t be a breaking point, and this game WILL find it the first time it logs in a monstrous 40w-60L-25H uncreative box of a base packed to the brim with tames. Why do people want to witness that? Why do players want to know what that was like? It wasn’t fun or enjoyable! You said that the reason we have to repay for ASA is because it has had so many changes to it from ASE it is essentially a different experience and game, and I ask this…..WHY IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS HOLY ARE YOU MAKING THE SAME STUPID MISTAKES YOU MADE IN ASE?????? With ASA you get a chance to correct your mistakes not do them over again, where I come from we call that blatant stupidity! I seriously hope that you guys come to your senses and not repeat the mistakes you made with ASE. Allow movement speed leveling (and put a cap on it, like I’ve been saying since the flyer nerf), enable cryopods. The addition of cryopods might be up for debate now but it won’t be within the first month.

  34. Ah i did forget 1 thing also, good riddance to mindless fanboi's like you too 'fool' lol. And i wont be buying asa, trust me, i havnt suggested others shouldnt either but i guarantee i wont be. Main reason is time already spent in game. I couldnt think of anything worse than starting again from scratch especially the way its being delivered. Island only and drip fed dlc, never. Only a 'fool' would. So instead of feble attempts to insult people maybe learn to respect other peoples 'opinions' in a forum for discussions

  35. Yea i really dont understand why the devs dont cap them properly. Dollie made clear they want to do something about the cave meta, but said it is a hard thing to do in regards to balance. Capping mutations would be one very important part in making that possible balance-wise. On top of that, it would help balance late game vs early game.

  36. Most of this is good news, but I am shocked and disappointed that you're not fixing the mutation cap bug.

  37. I went to a DIY store and bought a pickaxe and an axe, outside there was a playground where I beat up all the cockroaches and ants I found, I then collected stones and branches, I found a place to light a Fire but now I have to understand where the Pestles are bought.... as soon as possible I will go to the zoo to propose some exchange (hunting here is subject to a license). I haven't found any offers for building land in my area but luckily the apartment I live in doesn't seem to be built of straw, for now I'm going home before Decade. ((...hoping that whoever is up there doesn't follow WC's example...))

  39. Another Ignorant disrespectful PC player instead of gas lighting say something useful or be quiet and let the adults with serious issues about this game present their issues since you have no problems and you have access to you save files on PC and game runs smoothly for you . You need to stop gas lighting and move on.

  40. Not only PVP. I'm running my breeded Therizinos with 145,2% speed! Yes, it's 20 points less to anything else - but is SO good to rip through the map with them... WHY would someone do this to land Dinos? I can understand the fliers (i don't like it, but understand). But land ones? Everything will take double the time to accomplish! Well, maybe that's the idea: to take double the time to accomplish. A rubbish idea, but and idea.

  41. Just means players will find some other way to wreck the official scene. but we'll see, not allowing speed leveling means that smaller/faster mounts now have purpose again. (Also, the flyer nerf upseted people more than it did help, mods were even made to reverse it. You know you made a bad decision when your players make mods to undo a decision a developers made. Especially when back them most players hated PvP since the developers ignored PvE)

  42. I don't think the movement speed thing will be a permanent change, after all the way this crunch is written makes it sound like they are going to do a lot of meticulous tweaking to ensure the game is balanced and performs properly. On the other hand, Many don't play official so it is unlikely this change will affect them at all.

  45. Wildcard Do you thank the guys who bought the game last week only to find out tonight the servers were closing? This screenshot was about 2 hours before the servers shut down. You had the means to inform people officially and didn't bother. I uncryod all my favorite dino's this evening for a group photo but spent more time informing players on the server what was happening. These poor guys in the pic weren't the only ones who didn't know. Although i'm not happy and I feel sad the servers have closed, i understand it, but to make no effort to inform players through official means is totally sleazy. The phrase 'Don't bite the hand that feeds you' seems very relevant at this time.

  46. Wow I didn't realize you could mess it up this bad! People don't rember how terrible the game was without cryos, maewings, incubators etc, and no leveling movement speed? Do you just hate pvp? Because none of the pvpers care about ark 2, we wanted ark 1.5 but now you are making us not want it... Should have been a remake

  47. Please tell us, what is the price of asa, and whether we old players need to pay a high fee to own him. We were on the island map just now, and 70 players felt that we were being treated as idiots by you.

  49. Wow that is a lot of info. Thank you wildcard so much for sharing this info and even more thank you so much for making ASA I truly can’t express how excited I am for ASA and how much I appreciate you going though all this effort.

  50. The removal of the stat cap for breeding has me excited on a number of levels! SUPER smart move, especially since many hate official and typically play either on unofficial, on non-dedicated with friends, pr just play in single-player. Also great to see Config file editing isn't going anywhere meaning we can make our own spawns once new maps (and by extension creatures) get added. Shasta's also looking pretty neat, overall this Crunch is worth it's weight in gold! Thanks for the info WC team! Cya next week!
