From the very inception of ARK, we were amazed by the passionate and dedicated community that quickly formed around the game. Your enthusiasm, unwavering support, and invaluable feedback through thick and thin, and ups and downs, have played a pivotal role in shaping the ARK experience we know today.

We'd also like to acknowledge the exceptional talents that comprise our team, who pour their hearts and passion into every facet of their craft. It is their boundless creativity that has brought our game to life and fueled its continued evolution.

As we stand at the threshold of new horizons in the ARK universe, we fondly reflect on the journey we've shared over eight remarkable years. Rest assured though, the ARK adventure is far from over. ARK: Survival Ascended, ARK: The Animated Series, and ARK 2 await!

Thank you, Survivors, here's to the years to come!

ARK_Live_Rhyniognatha_Heading_G.png

Discover the Rhyniognatha, a super-sized creature with a set of unique abilities. From producing quick-hardening resin to being capable of carrying large objects around your base, these versatile creatures provide an unparalleled enhancement to your tribe's defenses.

The Rhyniognatha has landed on The Island and Lost Island! We are overcome with excitement but also nostalgia as we welcome our last and final creature to ARK: Survival Evolved.

As you might have already noticed, we made a few changes to Rhyniognatha since you last saw the dossier. You won't need to slay Arthropleuras to gain its TEK-disruptive ability, and it can now stick itself to creatures or cargo and carry things around your base!

Happy birthday, Ark. By 8 years old, you're supposed to have reached the age of reason, I believe ? ;) It's gonna show any day now.

Oh, I thought only story Arks were getting new creatures, this is an interesting turn of events...

I hoped for an explanation about why the Rhynio was added to two maps (The Island alone would have made sense to me, but why Lost Island too ?), but that's all the explanation we're getting, I guess ? I should get used to being explained nothing in this community *large gesture at everything* but nonetheless I keep hoping.

The actual anniversary date and two months out from August yet here we are with no real ASA info drop yet for players, admins and modders to prepare for this supposed incoming massive release that will change the game's foundation forever. This new creature is hype tbh but I can't help but feel a tinge of disappointment. Just to see the crunch delayed a day which is uncommon and to be this close to ASA, with everyone counting down on the Discord just to see no real news, no trailer or date yet.

Until next week 😿

I can understand the disappointment.
I had also hoped for a little more.

On the positive side... the new critter is for ASA.

So at least a little bit about ASA.
But yes also I would have been more pleased about a picture, such as structures or weapons look like.
The animal is certainly not modeled yet, so it is not expected that it will be shown. But at least the beetle, would have been interesting, so as UE5 model, even if I find the as usual again completely overpowered. (Too bad that he gets the armor ability automatically added and no sacrifice in the form of Arthros demands. But this is now normal. Everything rather as simple as possible. )

Or a tiny info, what new game-changing comes in Asa would have interested me very much.

Patience... you really learn it here.
6 days, then is the next crunch, whether I then stay up until almost 6 o'clock in the morning... I hope it is not necessary.(Have another time)

At the latest when ASA comes out we know then what and how much is different.
But I doubt that ASA comes out on time.

As cool as the Rhyniognatha is, I'm kinda disappointed that the Final Content Update for ARK is just the Rhyniognatha, personally I was kinda hoping for like a Final TLC for some creatures or maybe making some creatures breedable just to end the game on a good note.

Absolutely. All communications up until the release of the patch yesterday said "INCLUDING the Rhyniognatha".
Not sure a TLC was a reasonable expectation (...although I had it too), but maybe some breedable creatures indeed, a few fixes, maybe a couple of building pieces that weren't included in Homestead (still hoping for the half-walls at the very very least), stuff like that. In hindsight that was idealistic.

If only things had been communicated in a more clear way, it wouldn't feel disappointing. So many, so many issues the community has with WildCard would be solved by being more transparent. Not all, but a lot of the ones that lead to people not buying new sh*t...

happy anniversary! thank you for a great and encouraging update. looking forward to ASA. Please carry over our characters from ase to asa. I dont mind to lose my 42 cryo fridges of dinos or my hard won land and much loved fjorder base...last week gave everything away. could no longer bear to play on a dead map. most days I was the only one there.

Put my characters in data. now clinging on to single player. testing base builds. looking for that new bug... mosquito? Sent link of that fantastic video to my bro. got him excited again for new days and ASA.

hoping august delivers.

would love to keep my characters and their stats. please n thank you.

Happy 8th Anniversary, which is quite the milestone in regards to game being viable for more than a couple years.  Only a handful of titles can lay claim to have the standing success for the better part of a decade.  You are now in the arena with titles like Grand Theft Auto and Destiny with a few others that I don’t play and I know I’m forgetting.  Well was until April 1st.  I no longer log in to refresh my base and my tames have long since perished and my bases has been but a forgotten memory on the servers I used to play just about every day.  All the while trying to stay hopeful that you guys pull your faces out from between your knees and show us something WORTH the cost to jump into ASA, and like a father who has abandoned their kid, I feel less and less hopeful with every community crunch that you guys fall short on.  I’m sure that I’m not the only one who feels this way.  Yeah the bug is cool, but I don’t have the want to log back into a server or even single player to give it a try.  Ok we get that spotlight on the new creature coming to ASA, but it’s not enough.  Why is this so hard for you guys to understand?

IF, and I mean a big IF, you guys really have been slamming it hard on ASA, then there is MORE than enough information you guys can let out that would have no impact on “secretive content” that you guys don’t want to reveal yet.  Two months out and we have so little to go on to make our decisions to buy ASA or not.  Many of us are looking at not only spending money on the game itself but upgrading the hardware to run it.  Since money doesn’t grow on trees people have to save for that kind of expense or at least plan for it to be able to log into a fresh new experience on day 1.  If the history of dlc launches has taught us anything, it this.  It’s hectic and chaotic.  Not only are you trying to log in to an almost full server but then you’re trying to spawn in, get the basics and head to the base spot ya want.  We ALL know how perfectly smooth that goes. There are very important questions that I would like to see answered (and I’m sure others too), and those are as follows:

Are you going to release enough servers this time compared to ASE?

What bugs have been fixed compared to ASE? (I.e. weapons having to be cycled before they fire)

Are you going to spotlight new building mechanics?

Are we going to be able to have things like Maewings introduced to the island so raising tames isn’t so time consuming?

These are just some of the questions that run through my head that really does have a BIG impact on my decision to buy the game or not, and I’m sure I’m not alone.  There are other questions that you guys can answer pretty easily if you really have as much done as you say you do.  The best thing is, IT WONT RUIN THE EXPERIENCE OF THE PLAYERS BY LETTING US KNOW THESE THINGS!  Actually it would get us pumped up and excited and want to buy the game.  By what’s been going on in the last month or so that you guys STILL haven’t even acknowledged, you could use a little hype right now.  Two months until release (unless it’s delayed, which would NOT be the least bit surprised by at this point) and we literally know nothing about ASA other than a handful of things that aren’t really things that bring a lot of attention in the day to day of the game.  I’m not trying to downplay the work that has gone into stuff like the smithy, mortar and pestle, sleeping bag or the tree, but in my 7.5 years of playing I have yet to see a bunch of people standing around a smithy going “man it would be cool if they refreshed the look of this”.  That stuff looks great and I’m sure a lot of work went into it, but it isn’t enough.

I will end with this, the opening picture would make an awesome poster to hang on the wall lol.  Let’s hope we can get into the juicy stuff very soon!  Also LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT A SPECIFIC CREATURE FOR THE CENTER!  That map was the first dlc (out of the free and paid dlcs) to come to the game and is still a favorite for me and I’m sure many others.  It deserves its own specific creature!!
