The fact that people don't want to dump money on crap doesn't make them poor or unemployed, it just means they got other priorities. And brains.

It stops being merely a cosmetic pack once creatures exclusive to the pack are added. Not skins, creatures. Unless they can be claimed by people who haven’t purchased the pack this opens the door to far more predatory p2w features and microtransactions. Prior to this the game’s system was merely a case of ‘buy the map and get access to all the dinos on it’. Now there’s a chance that it’ll be ‘buy the map and get most of the dinos except these exclusive ones that we want more money for’. How on earth has this managed to escape you?

On official servers the 1x rate is incredibly slow, to the point that the game has most players minimally logging in until the next event or micro-managing their time and it's difficult to enjoy hatching and rearing. Wildcard has also continually had to address this issue, and "eventually" increases rates as players leave, or complain. On ASA official, our issues are performance based, predominantly, with horrific rubber banding, frame drop, crashes, lag, etc - and ethical with players exploiting pve for pvp like tactics, like theft, turning off generators, kiting dinos to other players bases, pillaring, and blocking entrances. Adding 1x causes all of this to be a bit overwhelming, and it feels like Ark has become a "full time job" and not a game. Even in huge 8 hour stints on the game, I find myself with having to cryo juvenilles and babies over the course of days, and having very annoyed friends and family and co-workers at my constant worrying about "feeding the dinos". It's embarrassing. But also humiliating. As I've paid money and unwittingly joined during a turkey and Christmas event phase to start my ark experience, I feel duped. For perspective I'm a design lead and am examining my experince from UX and data perspectives. The time requirements as a single player who lost two tribemates post holiday events, are a bit overwhelming. It currently takes over a week to raise a single dinosaur. Is ark planning on supplementing my income or hiring me to play their game? Or should I log off permanently and keep my job and social relationships? I am confused as a responsible adult why a game thats supposed to be fun, is so punishing to mine and others time? Is there anyone at Wildcard that can explain the logic behind 1x as official rates? That why a single person should spend two to three hours just gathering metal to make a 4th of what we were previously? That why a single saddle blueprint being made once requires 20 to 40 hours of real world time to gather for? I'm unable to attract new tribe mates under these conditions or have the prior tribemates return. I have a reasobaly sized friend base in gaming, and not a single one of them is willing to play this game on official in its present state. "I do not have the time to spend on official servers, until wildcard changes its rates permanently" was the general feedback of the 41 people who did respond to me personally. I look forward to your response, insights and explanations about 1x rates. Tl:dr In short the 1x rate is not that enjoyable. Of the 70 people on server NA official 5258, no one is enjoying it and I was repeatedly told "wildcard doesn't care. They always do this and then eventually raise rates. Just cryo everything and log in once a week and log back out until events like us". Thanks for listening.

Everything takes too long from taming to farming and even mating when there is no event the way the game is being designed makes it so you basically have to make Ark your life to survive or compete with any of the Alpha's we already did that on the first Ark maybe make it more competitive make it so people can breed, farm and raise quicker 3x should be the normal speed and during events should be 5x-6x.

Like ButchX3 youtubes, he is not afraid to show that playing ark is called getting arked for a reason - especially if you go in blind! Finally got my PC rebuilt (even then epic is just too buggy), then got the crazy idea to build the cliff up above herbi island - using my stegos, trikes and anky to clear the hill. That jungle is thick - few swipes and they are full and there is dead dilos and raptors and ticklers. I grabbed a RPG fantasy map of a keep, drafted with thatch foundations and quickly realized doing double walls (old school D&D 5' walls) and double height was going to kill my stone capabilities. So took things back to single and got the stone walls and wood roof mostly done, but there is hundreds of stone foundations I gotta make! Going to need crystal as finally getting into iron age after taking a squadron of ankys up the sw hill. So ButchX3 videos is Inspiring me to tackle caves - and being I am at original ASE EA rates (.125 XP and 0.2 tames) I lack all the ascendant drops he had. Just lost my max ptera after getting wiped by a Barry after getting suckered into a yellow drop. So I have been building up a mutant breeding operation (using SP rates and cheated in tek binoculars) using the normys either as hide/meat or expendables chain gang. My anky gang is bright green and pink makes them easier to see!

You’ll notice that the dragon spawned invisible. The tames were being set on fire, but no where to see the dragon. Plus the tribe on our server is built in easy and hard under water. Maybe that could be the issue..? Either way a nice roll back would be nice to help. I’ve heard we’re not the only tribe that’s lost everything to this glitch.

Hi As you claim most people dont want better rates in ark ascended then please explain why all pve official servers have gone dead since the event has finished showing that people that actualy play ark and not pretend too play it all leave the game as it is way to grindy i mean having to wait for 2 days watching timers tick down on a giga egg is pure reduculace and so why you claim most people dont want an easyer much less grindy game we have now is false as the stats proove you wrong Many people on the official server i play on have left the game as no meat can be found to feed your tames or raise dino not enough resorces on the map literaily nothing to do in game apart from watch timers tick down most dino can not be tamed eather meat is so difficult to obtain as there is not enough dino on the maps to feed 10 tribes never mind the 70 tribes its supposed to feed timers for 1 giga egg to hatch= 2 days that if its not stolen using the oviraptor 9 days to raise 1 giga if you can actualy find one to tame and breed and find enough meat to raise it As wild card assume that this super grind will ultimatly keep us on the game longer is having the opposite effect and making people leave the game as it is boring with nothing to do in game but watch timers tick down What fun is that if watching timers tick down I dont think you even play ark as nobody gets fun from watching timers tick down constantly or if you do you could have saved yourselfs cash and bought a watch as this game is not worth playing as it is its to boring grindy and like a full time job not a game

ya it does work like that ... there buggy game an you lose weeks of everything an you get a sorry.. an if you continue to complain get a forum ban ... try with tickets ... you get ignored tickets.... you try talking with the community devs in discord you get ignored ...... so ya...... you wont be compensated ...... but hey now you have a reason to grind out 124 saddles a new yuty an 19 rex maybe 18 and pig.......all on 1x rates ... and maybe in 2/3 weeks maybe a month you can try again an roll the dice..

Unlucky, this bug has been exisiting since months and still not fixed so sad. I had the issue in the Acension boss too when the overseer turned into the dragon and then went invisible. Lost everything

Yup, all very valid points wich I also often mentioned in the past, my comment was more on the ASA situation and the old DLC's are included so far. I also kind of mellowed on that for ASE since I got friendly tribes providing me with striders, maewings, incubators and shadowmane breeding left-overs until I finaly paid to win myself into Genesis just before Lost Island dropped... In my defense: My partner made me buy it, I agreed on condition I was allowed to also buy Mad Max or Metro Exodus or something like that. Not a bad deal, right? In my opinion PvE and PvP can be judged same: On PvE shadowmanes were used to push people off platforms to rob their bags when drowned or killed by wilds, spacewhales were used to bluescreen people to drown them or just simply bully them away from the server. PvE has more naughty trolls than PvP since many PvE players are easy victems that don't know how to deal with unseen enemies while honest PvP gives more options to get even. But back on topic: This new system is a new level of P2W, the packs are no longer cosmetic only like the tek skins on ASE. I'll wait till the "definitive final complete edition" with all skins, dlc's, adventure packs and bug fixes. That will most likely be included in Gamepass for PS7.

All you guys complaining about the frontier pack: are u Poor? Unemployed? The pack will sure be around 10-20 bucks All of u Play hundreds of hours in a fkn Game u paid Max Like 50 bucks for stop crying and buy the pack. Or simply stop crying. It is so ridicolous

Followup on using seagulls: it's not clear if they actually aggro on the microraptors or not, because they take so long to hunt every compy in a mile radius that they can't keep up. Either way they're not good for screening. No big deal, just a pet project.

As I exsperenced during the winter Wonderland and Turky Trial event, the x1.5 rates feels like the sweetspot-rate for me (especialy as solo player) for official servers. It's not to much and not to less and it feels more compatible with real life. Timer fitt better etc. Would it be better to rise rates to x1.5 permaently and make it x2 or 2.5 during events? What do you think?

In that case play single-player and just use admin commands to spawn in what you want. It has never been necessary "to spend the next 2-3 years breeding and having no life". ARK has a ton of faults, but lack of flexibility is not one of them. Asking for the game to be P2W makes no sense and wouldn't make anything better.

now I was thinking, the auto-cosmetic download and possible bloating of servers, could be a big issues especially for console players that have limited mod storage capabilities (especially PS5)

Yet it stopped at simply buying the map before. If buying packs for Dinos becomes a thing and players can’t access specific creatures without buying a pack regardless of having the map things get real out of hand real quickly

And some people questioned me (even on this very forum) when I have previously stated: That was exactly what they hoped for. And it worked (marketing off of impatience especially from taking ASE away), very sad to say. Edit: as for your follow-up saying it's a cash grab- yup, exactly. Thus while I still choose to remain on ASE (even though ASA was gifted to me for free!)

Yeah, I was unaware of all of the issues that it still had. I didn't bother checking out of impatience. Now I regret it. It's really sad how we're getting utterly screwed over by something that ought to be fixable and a huge priority. But I guess people were right.

First of all, why and how are you actually acting surprised? Second of all, you wrote: "What is the point of buying a game that you can't even play?". Well, why did you even buy it in the first place, after months and months of blatant warnings from majority of the community? Third of all, "I want to stop crapping on the game and WC but at this point? I'm very tempted to get a refund." Welcome to the party, a bit late though lol. Tons and tons of players beat you to the punch long ago, and even since have never stopped crapping on it either (did you think they did it for their health?). Soo many of the ones who were indeed "suckered" (sorry to say) have actually in fact did indeed get a refund. Quite easily, actually. Lastly, you are here begging for the same things to happen, that people have been begging from them for literal YEARS. Smh. Especially "fix the game please". Lol. All they did was try to "bury" the old brokenness by releasing a shiny "new" version with the same bugs (plus a lot more) to "replace" it. Packs should just be cosmetic skins that you can buy. Unless this new Dino is available for free for everyone, it just becomes pay to win. My daughter just bought Palworld on her pc, to me it looks like playing an easier version of Ark with cartoon characters. So I can see a big population of Ark players moving over to that game if they have an Xbox or pc.

I guess we know why SE was pushed back now, to get this new dino into the frontier pack. This is a joke. This massive flying base isnt a cosmetic item. You cant call this a cosmetic pack anymore. Guess we shouldn't have expected any less from Shi and snail. Obviously we dont know the specifics of the Oasisaur, but it certainly seems like its going to give people a pretty big advantage on a dry wasteland type of map like SE. That is the exact opposite of what a cosmetic pack is supposed to be. Didnt take Shi long to introduce p2w elements into the "cosmetics" pack to force those who want to remain competitive on a server into buying it. If something like this is in the very first pack, I imagine its only going to get worse down the line.

ehhh not exacty, for example in ASE I didn't have Genesis and therefore I didn't have access to Strider and I found myself in situations where I went to some places to collect something specific (for example the Fjordur cave for NonameVenom) and while I was picking the first node here a Strider passed over me which completely ruined my journey, in the time in which I had collected 2 poisons that Straider had cleaned the entire cave. Is it pay2win? I couldn't classify it.. If we want to give a PVP example, without Genesis (worse if I only had Ark with only TheIsland) I wouldn't have access to Shadowmane-Astrodelphis-Astrocetus-etc. and also to some structures like Ammobox etc.. is it pay2win? maybe.. In ASA the maps and their resources/dinos will be accessible to everyone in the same way, but when a new map is released that I might not want to buy but that map contains some animals or weapons OP and you buy that DLC you are paying2win ? Between you and me, I think that in Ark this concept is a bit controversial to judge, in PVE I can enjoy the game to the full even without purchasing any package that would create advantages so in my opinion I would completely exclude PVE from this discussion , while in PVP I don't think we can talk about P2W until we can buy something like "temporary immortality" "paid protections" "statistical advantages" etc. etc. that can put any player in a situation not accessible to the opponent without having to pay in turn just to get on par, the addition of Dinos/objects/weapons/resources via a new map is almost at the limit of the concept but each of those However, things can be obtained by anyone who is capable of conquering them through beaten or defeated opponents (therefore through your skill and without a payment behind you) they are not advantages that can be obtained exclusively through payment. All of this is obviously just my personal opinion.

Hi wildcard before having all these plans for arks future with concept off new dinos and mods how about you fix the base game more than a quarter of our offical pve server we are on have quit due to bugs and glitches that shouldn't be in game a good friend I made in game quit after getting messed 4 times doing a metal run on volcano a few more quit after dragon flew out of render and we timed out problems getting off tames and there's so many more can you try fix the game you got and not add more to it until its fixed thank you

I think it's more than just paint, I was trying to draw an example. It will likely be more than that like meshes and textures, my point was this sort of thing has already existed. You do raise good points. To be displayed on your screen the assets need to be on your computer in some capacity and that could bump into local laws. I saw my fair share of distasteful sprays in counter strike back in the day... There really needs to be a way for individuals to disable this, and for dedicated servers to turn it off.

Let's be fair: It is not a complete unplayable mess. Some unplayabele parts are still missing.

ASE is still full of bugs that sadly now will probably never get fixed since they no longer support the game. Why would anyone buy ASA if it’s an unplayable mess. There’s going to be a lot of people like myself that will wait and see if the game improves before they buy a ps5 to play it.

Exactly, well said. Also I still refuse to play it, even though someone literally gifted it to me for free trying to persuade me! I'm sticking to running an ASE cluster that mimics Official. If I do go to ASA, it won't be for a long long time and all maps are out and perhaps bugs/kinks are sorted out (unless I decide to pop in and get all notes and that's it, before more map releases. Haven't decided).

Must be why I’m seeing more people come back to ASE, or they don’t like the new cryo system.

like the title says can we get better rates i try to play ASA for fun but this grind is not fun. change it.

I get not wanting to rasie baby dinos without maewings & that's from someone who plays solo. But It's still bull, if they can change this one they can change the rest, and tha doesn't exactly make me wanna vote on anymore from here on out. If not having maewings or something like them was such a problem they could've released Ragnarok before The Center, then they wouldn't have needed to change anything.

Exactly, then why have a game designed to require you to stare at a dino and structure your life around hitting 8 hour timers. 1.5x was the best setting for official. 1x is abusive/dumb gameplay and the only people that enjoy it are the ones that literally live in this game.

The Game usually kills me Anti-mesh, loosing all my stuff and Im nota doing Fking mesh!!! Just they think you doing some wrong things and just kill you with no reason. I was on the side of the volcano taming an new Argy and when I tried to jump on my own Argy I got stuck in the side of the Volcano. Then my screen went black and I was forced to respawn at my home base, naked without gear or anything in pocket. When I went back up to the Volcano as fast as I could fly on a Ptera, my home base is at bottom, nothing was to be found. No body, no bag, nothing. I lost 3 Tames including an 88 Rex, 179 Bary, and 179 Daeodon, and a baby 105 Allo that were all in Cryo Pods in my Pocket as I was taking them home shortly. I got the new Argy, level 20 with nice colors. But lost everything to get it, and I had purple, blue, gold gear too Is there any way to recover my items or am I just screwed? Please help. If you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. the server I play on is pretty unanimous in being glad the rates have gone down now. Higher rates = more lag. Also you don’t have to play like a full time job to get ahead on official (at least PvE) cuz you can trade with other people and most will help u build up if you have basic social skills. Not to mention farming and taming aren’t the only things to do. Between events my tribe usually spends the time grinding boss tributes and ele while raising stuff in the background, it’s all part of managing your time and organising yourself. Personally I feel that another permanent boost to rates would be a mistake and make official play worse, and many people agree with me. Sure, some people don’t enjoy it, that’s why those people shouldn’t be playing official, and go play singleplayer or boosted. As it stands for us who like a slower burn and grind, boosting official into the sky would just turn it into what every other server is, and would kill the game for us

If WC would increase the rates you still wont keep up with any Alpha tribes because they will also make more progress. Official rates are ok for me
