The Oasisaur is MASSIVE. And it flies/levitates ? And it has a... private lake ?! I'm gonna stop you RIGHT THERE. First of all, don't install sh*t on my computer that other players make without my consent, simply because we play on the same server. Just as a rule. And second of all, there is no way that one player deciding what others have to install in order to render a base will backfire, ever. As we all know, noone in this community is toxic. There will not be rule-breaking content, there will not be attempts to slip in a virus of some sort, nothing of the sort. We're all happy unicorns in the garden of Eden.5 points

So still no comments or fixes for single player saves? This is just bad comedy at this point. Games saves have been a thing for 40 years, yet somehow it can’t be done consistently on ASA. Really sad.4 points

Yet it stopped at simply buying the map before. If buying packs for Dinos becomes a thing and players can’t access specific creatures without buying a pack regardless of having the map things get real out of hand real quickly2 points

I guess we know why SE was pushed back now, to get this new dino into the frontier pack. This is a joke. This massive flying base isnt a cosmetic item. You cant call this a cosmetic pack anymore. Guess we shouldn't have expected any less from Shi and snail. Obviously we dont know the specifics of the Oasisaur, but it certainly seems like its going to give people a pretty big advantage on a dry wasteland type of map like SE. That is the exact opposite of what a cosmetic pack is supposed to be. Didnt take Shi long to introduce p2w elements into the "cosmetics" pack to force those who want to remain competitive on a server into buying it. If something like this is in the very first pack, I imagine its only going to get worse down the line.2 points

Yeah, I was unaware of all of the issues that it still had. I didn't bother checking out of impatience. Now I regret it. It's really sad how we're getting utterly screwed over by something that ought to be fixable and a huge priority. But I guess people were right.1 point

Packs should just be cosmetic skins that you can buy. Unless this new Dino is available for free for everyone, it just becomes pay to win. My daughter just bought Palworld on her pc, to me it looks like playing an easier version of Ark with cartoon characters. So I can see a big population of Ark players moving over to that game if they have an Xbox or pc.1 point

We know nothing really about the new creature but I'm dreaming it's mainly a PVE thing and it will create an instanced base, like we have in Fallout 76. When the player logs off the base and all it's contents disappear from the world too until they log on again. This would be awesome for performance on PVE servers - yep, I know, totally dreaming but yeah, that's what I'd like In reality it's prob going to be more like the megachelon, eagerly anticipated, everyone tames one, then any benefits are nerfed to the ground after the PVP crowd get hold of it and break pvp....again. Still looking forward to getting one though.1 point

If we have to pay extra for another dino I think I'll move on to another game. It's gonna break the game and it's not gonna be available to everyone and once again we right back to an uneven playing field1 point

Hi wildcard before having all these plans for arks future with concept off new dinos and mods how about you fix the base game more than a quarter of our offical pve server we are on have quit due to bugs and glitches that shouldn't be in game a good friend I made in game quit after getting messed 4 times doing a metal run on volcano a few more quit after dragon flew out of render and we timed out problems getting off tames and there's so many more can you try fix the game you got and not add more to it until its fixed thank you1 point

yeah still no talk about console... i was hopeing this chrunch would shed light on this but ofcourse nope...... yeah i like the other things explained and the new creature comeing to a another buy pack but like come on no mention again of Asa's Bug/glitchs particularly with the game not saveing and thus Not playable. >.> and there is absolutely no excuse for this still to be a thing for like a month now, and i get not everyone plays on xbox and others have mixed thoughts on how Asa is right now wether yes ofcourse for some the game works mostly flawless however for others the game is still messing up and still heavly flawed.1 point

I think it's more than just paint, I was trying to draw an example. It will likely be more than that like meshes and textures, my point was this sort of thing has already existed. You do raise good points. To be displayed on your screen the assets need to be on your computer in some capacity and that could bump into local laws. I saw my fair share of distasteful sprays in counter strike back in the day... There really needs to be a way for individuals to disable this, and for dedicated servers to turn it off.1 point

Thanks for explaining, I wasn't aware how it worked. Ok if it's a paint, it's not so bad. I still don't like the idea of things installing without my saying so just because I'm flying near a base or running into someone (like, some countries have laws about specific imagery that is illegal to be in possession of... when stuff wasn't downloading on my computer, the laws of my country didn't apply to other people's bases, but now they kinda do). But it's not as bad as loading actual skins, as long as they're temporary files and not just piling up in a folder just because I once tamed a Megalodon near a decorated raft, or something XD1 point

Both official and unofficial appear to benefit from this technology once it's implemented, according to the paragraph above. The way it's written seems to say that nothing is downloaded ON THE SERVER SIDE. But there is a download ON THE CLIENT SIDE, since they do say : That makes rule-breaking behavior hard to moderate. If you're on a server where racist content is forbidden, and someone makes, I don't know, a Confederate flag outfit... then admins have no way of blocking that rule-breaking content since it doesn't even pass through their server.1 point

Yeah... I thought it'd be a reskin of an existing creature. Like, say, a Hadrosaur with the same abilities as the Iguanodon, for instance. You have a cool unique tame with custom sounds and animations, but it doesn't give you the upper hand. Wonder how creatures are going to be "acquired", actually. The Oasisaur can't possibly be spawning only for you to tame it, you know what I mean ? That'd break every rule of an online game if no other creature but you can perceive it, and it can't be killed while you try to tame it (that thing is as large as at least 5 Wyverns, it would make no sense !). But on the other hand, it's not like owning the pack immediately gives you as many of an OP creature as you want, of course. So I'm quite note picturing how it'll work. Say you're the only one on the server who has bought the Frontier pack, can you unclaim the Oasisaur for someone else to claim it ? That's how it worked in ASE... (sidenote : the lovely dino-selling con artists will love this) Or does it disappear the minute you unclaim it, risking for some pretty nasty incidents ? Can it be cryo'd and captured during a raid ? Am I crazy or was that never explained ? Same as the premium mods' practicality never being explained ? Like, is it possible to see what premium mods are on a server before loading it ? Who is even paying for it between the server owner and the players ? Did I miss something ?1 point

Oasisaur seems kinna OP... And the fact that it will potentially be tied to the paid Frontier Pack is kinna ridiculous and just makes these packs p2w. The paid packs shouldnt have anything more than cosmetics imo.1 point

Guess no Evo event, it's bad enough the whole .5 boosted rates xbox and ps5 got were taken away. All u gotta do is look at base tours to see how far behind console is from steam. Glad im building and raising tames just to get rolled by steam on the 31st and watch asa take a nose dive in active players1 point

I'm surprised we still haven't gotten an explanation on why the Gigantoraptor has swapped with Shastasaurus for The Center map. The Oasisaur is pretty cool tho, I wonder if it will also produce resources similar to the Megachelon.1 point

Personally, I would keep taming more tek rexes until you get the stats you want before you start breeding. Doing a breeding program takes a lot more time than taming some more until you get the stat you want, breeding prematurely is a waste of time. Just my take.1 point

The fact that this moving oasis flies is BAFFLING to me, its absolutely STUPID. would have been better if it just shambles along the ground then partially submerses in the ground to park it as a base. How TF can ya justify something so OP as a flying base on Scorched, where flying is already limited?! And how in the hell is it gunna work for folks that DON'T Buy the pack?! how can anyone even remotely fathom a flying base that only certain players are gunna see or interact with being balanced?!0 points
