  1. It takes the same amount of time. Its more so if the dino is either in a dangerous area and theres a chance it might die, or you are feeding it something with a fast spoil time like raw prime, so your not wasting resources. You starve it for as long as it takes to tame it then dump all the required food at once and it eats it all at once and tames. Last night we hatched an aberrant spino egg for my wife to replace the one she lost yesterday morning. This morning I searched for a high lvl female bary but gave up after 15 minutes. Then we decided we should continue work on the "rex factory", and got maybe half the walls done. By saturday we will have about 15 rex eggs to hatch so i need a good spot for them. Here is our progress on it so far. I hope to have all the walls and roof done by the weekend. I plan on putting s+ glass walls on the side facing the snow and a glass observation deck on the roof for watching for drops while we sit in chairs afk raising babies. Eventually it will have a fenced in area for all the full grown rex. Of course it will be outfitted with a dozen or so fridges for meat and berries and turrets/plant x on the roof to keep the badies away when we take the little guys for walks. This area is a hotspot for argent, rex, allo, sabre and alpha spawns. This weeks plans are to finish this, find a female bary, and start pumping out rex

  3. Hey Survivors! Welcome to the latest edition of the Community Crunch! Community Stream Roundup #1! On May 10th we had our first Community Livestream. Thank you to all of those who attended and participated! The community team had a lot of fun and we hope you did as well. If you weren't able to catch the stream you can watch the video-on-demand on our Twitch page or by clicking on the video below. The stream began with a brief round-up of community news from Jen. ZenRowe then introduced us to two mods during the Mod Showcase: Anzah and Immersive Taming. From there the community team introduced a special guest, GGFizz, who is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer known for his impressive building skills in ARK. Zen and Jen challenged Fizz to a building contest to see who could build the best dinosaur using only ARK building materials. Ultimately the Twitch chat decided the Doedicurus built by Fizz was the winner, beating out the blue Dodo by Zen and Jen. Running a bit overtime we jumped into the showcase section with Chris. Here we displayed some of the amazing ARKworks created by the community that you sent to us via email. We even chose our top favourites to receive some prizes! We're very excited to see that this first stream was a success and our next community stream will take place on May 24th. We hope to see you there! We are accepting any type of ARK related fanart to be featured in the showcase section of the stream and entries are always open. This can be drawings, videos, builds, ANSEL screenshots, handmade crafts, anything ARK related! You can submit your ARKwork to our streaming email address: arkfans@studiowildcard.com Be sure to follow us on our Twitch page so you don't miss a stream! twitch.tv/survivetheark The Great Migration #3! Once again it is time to remove some of our lower population legacy ARK servers on PC, Xbox, and PS4 from our Official legacy network. Over time the ARK population has migrated from legacy to non-legacy and in its wake left many servers with low populations for 0-1 players in a significant amount of cases. Here is a quick breakdown on how this process works: Taking Down Low Pop Servers With calculations based on sustained player-count as well as popularity of game mode we will be removing lower population legacy servers, most of which retain a 0-1 player concurrent population. These servers will be taken offline on June 12th. Any existing server that is not considered a low pop server and is not taken down at this time will still exist on the Legacy network. Legacy servers will continue to remain on a separate cluster from the new cluster, which means you will not be able to transfer anything between Legacy servers and the new servers. Servers Up for Deletion Below is a complete list of the LEGACY servers that will be deleted come June 12th. You have from now until then to move your belongings onto a server not present on this list. Please click one of the links below. They are separated by platform (PC, Xbox, and PS4). Most Popular Servers To avoid players having to move again in future, we're publishing the most popular servers across all platforms. These servers are the top 30 most active Legacy servers on each platform and are ones most likely to be safe from any future server removals. PC: Xbox: PS4: How To Move Servers If you are unfamiliar with the process, you are able to upload your items, creatures, and player through the Obelisk terminal, supply drops, as well as the Tek Transmitter. Survivors are advised to use Cross-ARK immediately to relocate their belongings onto a server that is not included in our take-down list above. Allocation of New Servers Our new method of onlining new servers has been through what we call "FRESH" servers. These servers are added to the main network but have downloads disabled for a period of 60 days. After 60 days that restraint is removed and they are officially joined to the main network. We plan to online set of Fresh servers on a monthly basis for all platforms so stay tuned for more information on when new ones will be added if you're looking for a fresh start. Server Saves of Deleted Servers We will make the save files available as soon as we can. We will host the PC files which anyone can download and then you are welcome to re-host the save file for your own use. We'll include a link to where you can download server saves in this post when they are available. Nitrado will also be able to provide the saves for use on Nitrado servers for console, as they have done in the past. Upcoming New Speciality Servers! Speciality servers are alternate game modes for ARK that last for a short period of time. Each new theme will bring on a new set of challenges different from that of servers currently available. However, these seasonal servers will wipe and change theme after a determined period of time. We're looking for input from you today. We've set up a thread and we'd appreciate if you could drop your suggestions into the separate thread below. Changes will revolve around edits that can be made to the existing config. These types of changes can include many things like: tribe/alliance size, anything related to dino stats and taming, server rates, etc. If you have a game mode that you think would be fun to play be sure to leave your comment in the thread: Mod Community Updates! Zen here with another addition to the Wildcard Workshop tutorial series where we look at adding config options to mods. You'll find it's easier than you expect but there are some rules to how it works. Files are also included in the tutorial post if desired. As a reminder, the Mod tutorial contests have been extended to be full month submission periods and the awards have been doubled, so there is not a new contest starting this week. The current freestyle contest is still accepting submissions until the end of the month. Xbox Sale! ARK and its expansions are currently on sale on Xbox during the ID@Xbox Game Fest sale! 4. Aberration - modded single player: It’s a full house. So, I still haven’t found a place for my offsite facility, mainly because I got distracted by my main joy in Ark, breeding. I decided to take a break from the featherlight mutation pursuit, and instead hatched a round of dimorphodons. Four eggs, five jet black birds...no mutations, but that’s okay. I moved them out and tried again, and currently have another five jet black juvenile dimorphodons. Some day I will get a color mutation. Some day. My two adolescent wyverns are sitting at around 95%...they should be finished today or tomorrow. And, I realized my hoard of shoulder pets had something missing, so I spawned in four jerboas and immediately bred a fifth - my first jerboa baby, who hit a jackpot with a health mutation, but again not a used color region. I really do have abysmal luck. Fun fact, jerboas alert on earthquakes like they do for electrical storms. And I also found a satisfactory female otter, and therefore took one of the dragons and ate the entire river several times over to gather fish. I accidentally ate a few otters and it made me sad. ? But if I wanted to breed my otters I needed a boatload of fish, because one of the Ark quirks I find most inconvenient is the way carnivores of all sorts favor fish over meat, meaning otters (and my pelagornises in other games) have to be inventory fed because I hate the water in Ark and want to spend as little time as possible messing around in it. And sure enough, my first juvenile otter is sharing the trough meant exclusively for her with every other carnivore in range. It’s a massive pain. But she is adorable and Aberration’s extremely friendly, shallow rivers mean I don’t have to submerge to keep restocking, so I can cope. That totals out to nine babies on the nursery level right now, and I’m going to wait until these little bundles of joy are matured before I add more. I’m thinking it’ll be another couple of wyverns and four more dimorphodons...and I might pursue more jerboas since I was handed a valuable mutation on a silver platter.

  5. So, Rex-Force1 (RF1) is finally ready. They have their new MC saddles, are in the 20k to 25k HP range, and melee is 500 to 550. I named them Rex1, Rex2, etc., because I has creativity. Lenny decided to help by painting the number 5 on Rex13, number 16 on Rex2, and a picture of a slice of pie on Rex 3. Luckily, I was able to catch him when he stopped to snack on some purple dye, so I only have a handful of confused Rexes. (One slightly troublesome Jerboa for sale, will air deliver via cannon if within range.) Now I just need to take care of the Yuty, Rex Boss position. My green yuty, Hulk, is only mid-level, so I need to find a high-level female for some zug-zug. (I'm talking for Hulk, not me!) I'll probably have time for that over next weekend, though, so we'll see how things go. I still need to learn how to best use a Yuty in a boss fight, but I can't imagine that will be too tough to get a handle on. And then, it's on to Gamma Charlotte.

  6. Helped out others on the server mainly and then continued working on my Pirate Cave public build. Funniest moment was flying down to the desert on Ragnarok to pick a Kangaroo with with my Argy to take for another tribe to tame up after selling him on the idea of using the fast, mega jumping Kanga for berries instead of a slow Trike. I got to the desert, took quite some time finding a low level Kanga - all seem to be 130-150 and don't think the guy has time to tame up a high level so wanted to grab a lower one for him. I eventually spot a level 60 and go in for the pick after resting to regen my birds stamina and once picked up I start heading north over the desert/mountains and back towards the volcano area to drop it off for him... ahhh ohh, ahh ohh, ahh ohh.. darn I didn't bring a canteen and I'm slowly dying from dehydration. My mind throws me back to Scorched Earth and I head towards the mountains, keeping my health topped up with a couple health brews I have but still miles from water - I let the guy know I might not make it as dehydrated and the response is calm and well thought - "Why don't you fly towards the shore?".. doh! of course the desert on Ragnarok is surrounded by a coastline. I bow my head in shame and sling a right turn towards the coast where I take a drink and continue my journey. I ended the evening building fences around the top of my cave so that I don't get anymore surprise visitors dropping in (Carno nearly wrecked me and the other guy on one visit dropping from the land above). I was then going to pull down my breeding "tower" (behemo gate height box) and make a workshop and stables but got distracted and instead bridged the islands in the cave to start working on my fishing deck area. Will try and get some pictures together when it is more complete.

  7. The top 30 list is not helpful. As most are ragnarok servers and most (if not all) are at a taming cap. How about a top 30 per map?

  8. I am also an active player on 33. We have a friendly, helpful community with thousands of hours of time invested. We have many long time players, and some amazing buildings. WC is asking us to move to already overpopulated and capped servers. We can rebuild, but we cannot rebreed special long running lines of dinos, recapture our special holiday tames, and certainly cannot move them to overpopulated areas. it's disheartening to have to keep starting over. Please leave 33 up and running.

  10. 1) We cant upload or dl via drops in SP. Also, if u want to say.. do island bosses brood is at green, ape at blue dragon at red. Its stupid. 2) Theres two griff attacks, the ground pound which is just head face first into the ground and the swoop claw (most dmg) i just use right trigger but the trick is to be in 'woosh' animation as you fly past said dino you attack. Ill often do ariel battles with griffins, you only need to be in woosh animation to hit. The trickiest part is staying in animation while flying past not hitting ground. How do you fly on griffin if you are going long distance? Think of it as a glider and constantly go down and up 3) I havent figured either.. i bet it only works on dodos, light pets and dilos 4) 76.

  11. PS4 - Single Player - Ragnarok So my character is still in the Single Player world after I transferred over some dinos from the private server. So I decided to tame a few oviraptors, to help with the egg production. Took forever to find one, and after searching all the areas I thought one should be, I was nearly back at base, when I passed over one. However it was on a small ledge, and I was having trouble with the wyvern picking it up. But finally got it, and tamed it up. A low level male, but for Oviraptors, I don't care about the level. I then went back out to search for another, as the dino pen is too big for one Oviraptor's range. (I have 1 dozen Spinos, and 20 some REXs, plus allos and a few others in that pen.) So I finally end up over at Viking Bay, and my starter base. SO I decide to check on the Bronto I tamed the day before. and while doing this, I get some kill messages, that my Species X plants had killed a Ptera, then trike, then pego, then Oviraptor! Well crud that sucks. So I figure since I'm at Viking Bay, might as well farm for black pearls and regular pearls. So I take the two sharks I keep in the bay jsut for this reason, and we kill all of the lobsters and get a nice batch of black pearls. Then we take off into the pearl cave, and gather up a few thousand. I am heading back out, when I get a BSOD (blue screen of death) and I have to re-start. When I start up again, I am in the water away from Viking Bay, with my Wyvern hovering above me. So that means I lost all of the pearls I had just harvested, due to the game rollback. So I quickly fly to the Viking Bay base, and search intently for the Oviraptor that was killed the first time around. Finally I see it, and after a few failed attempts, I pick it up and take it back to my Big Butte Base to tame it up. Well this one is a level 100, and it has very high Food level. So the starve was taking forever, but according to dododex, I still had 7 minutes before the torpor was over. So I ran around collecting some eggs and as I am walking back to the taming pen (with over 2 minutes left on the torpor timer) I hear the Oviraptor noise. Sure enough, the damn thing woke up on me. Arrrgghh! So I tranq it again (3 shots with a ASC crossbow!) and this time I just dump in the eggs I had just collected (rexs and spinos). Well about a minute later, the thing stands up tamed! I didn't check, but can only assume the food level had not re-charged, and it was still starving. This was female, so going forward, I can just breed the male and female, instead of wasting eggs taming wild ones. I called it a night after that, as I had to be at the office early today. *** Here are a couple NOOB questions from a guy who has easily 2000 hours into the game *** ? 1) I see people posting about uploading dinos at beacons/drops. But I can't find that option in my game. Is that a feature not available on PS4? 2) I still cannot figure out how to get the Griffin to do the dive attack consistently. about 99% of the time I just land on the ground. What PS4 controls buttons are need to do the diving attack? 3) I cannot figure out how to get the TLC argy to pick something up with it's beak. How can I do it? 4) How much wood can a woodchuck chuck, after ARK gives it TLC treatment?

  12. Picked up a non BP Ascendant REX saddle on Ragnarok the other day. Think it was a double red drop on the ice mountain just in from pirate bay.

  13. Play as a Dino, i.e. Primal Survival ceased development a long time ago, that was known ages ago that it had stopped. So many people every week complain that there is no breeding event, then when there is a breeding event people complain that it is only 1.5x instead of 2x and then people complain it wasn't long enough when usually Evo Events only last Fri to Mon anyway. This is a good example of people never being happy with whatever they are given.

  15. PS4 - Private Server - Ragnarok Really busy today here at work, so just a quick recap. Friday after a late day of work, I logged on and set looking for that 130 Easter Quetz .... well I never found it, but I did find a 140 regular Quetz and got that tamed up. The dang thing took FOREVER to KO. Not sure what the deal was, but it finally dropped. While starving it, I started putting up some spikes around it. Suddenly, I poop pig falls from the cliff above and right onto the Quetz. I look up just in time to see a Carno come flying off the cliff, and thank goodness I was sitting on my Wyvern. (After I had dropped the Quetz, I was so close to my base, I ran home an swapped flyers) So I walk the Wyvern forward a few steps, and the Carno falls on top of us instead of the Quetz. He then lands outside of the spikes. I quickly back up and the Carno decides to continue after the poop pig. WHEW lucky break. Soon it gets dark, and suddenly I noticed glowing eyes getting closer. I've never seen Troodons on this part of the map, but there were 4 of them coming my way. Just in time, I get my fire wyvern turned around to face them, and bring a rain of fire upon them! Another crisis averted. A couple raptors and sabres latter, and as the sun rises the Quetz pops up perfect. I put a platform saddle on it, and fly it home. It got good boost in stam and weight. So I immediately went on metal run along with my 145 Anky. Well the Anky got the worst roll on weight with each level going up like 12 pounds only . But with the great weight on the Quetz, we eventually got a bunch back and into the forge. Saturday: I then took the Wyvern out looking for another high Quetz with no luck. I recently decided to try the boss fights again, so I have been keeping an eye out for top level Daedons and Yutys. I spot a 145 Yuty, and try to set up a dino gate trap to lure it into. The plan is going well, when the Yuty side steps the trap and goes around it (while all his carnos get stuck in the trap) He starts attacking me on the wyvern, so I quick take to the air, to get away from it. Well the wide turning radius of the wyvern causes me to fly over the edge of a cliff, and the Yuty follows me over the edge. down into the river gorge. I find it on a patch of land with about 6 raptors and a carno. While I sit there trying to figure out what to do, the carnos from up above drop in, since I never closed the gate on the trap. So now this little heavily woods patch of land is full of baddies and I am out of trap materials (no S+ for this console peasant) I fly back to base and craft up another trap. Fly back to the Yuty..... and it is GONE along with all the carnos. Only the raptors are still around. I have no clue what happened, but assume they de-spawned? So back on the Yuty hunt I go, and I find a 150 Male Daedon. Which I needed because I have two 145 females, one of which is enormous points in food, and the other in HP. So I need to breed up a couple battle pigs. I drop the male into my taming pen. Knock him out and start to starve him. I run around the base doing some stuff, and eventually I check on the pig and it is time to feed it. So I dump in mutton and when I come out of my menu screen, I accidentaly punch the pig. ( ?FML) So he only tamed at 94% oh well. I also tried to find and tame female gallis for the imprinting kibble, but I accidentaly killed them all while try to tame them! what pansies! While looking for Yuty, I came across a 145 Dire Bear, so I get that tamed up, and then went out an tried to tame a giant bee. For some reason, all of the hives on Ragnarok are triple spawned or more. Meaning the hives are layers 2...3...4 on top of each other. Makes it impossible to tame a queen. So fed up with that glitch, I spawned in a Queen and followed her around until she tamed on rare flowers. While chasing the queen around, I saw a 145 Male Rex, so I return to find him, lured him into a trap (took forever, because he kept getting distracted) and then got him tamed up. Sunday: (after celebrating mother's day at my Moms.) I needed some pearls, so I flew to Viking bay, and built a tiny outpost. Tamed up a 145 shark and 100 Carno that were in the area, and took the shark to the pearl cave in the bay. Grabbed about 5k pearls and headed back to base. At this point I realized I needed to transfer some of my Easter tames over to my SP game, so I loaded up a bunch of them (mostly jerboas, a few pachys, argies and Ankys) and transported over to SP Rag game. Downloaded those Dinos, got them put away in the base. And then took one of my Wyverns out for tour of the map. Checking on the outposts and feeding dinos, collecting eggs, filling up beetles, harvest crop plots, etc. While at my Viking bay starter base, A bronto fell off the cliffs above right next to my base. So I decided to tame it for fun. IT was only a level 25, but will be perfect for farming berries to feed the herbivores I house still at the starter base. I also watch my 2 max level pegos that I put on aggressive and wander, as they killed to Trike! hilarious! Then I logged off, watch John Wick movie and called it a night.

  16. Wrong. The full release game rates are 1x. That’s the baseline. Any reference to prior adjustments during early access is irrelevant because it wasn’t released. So 2x evo Events are 2x of the base rate. Just because many people played EA, it doesn’t mean you can Consider current rates as “boosted”. They aren’t. They are 1x.
