Some info to clarify a few points: Of course all the Official Mods/Maps will be free. The intent is to give back to the community and get more great ARK content integrated into the official game on PC and Consoles The Official Mods/Maps will all function in singleplayer, etc. We will be hosting & maintaining Official Servers for all the Official Mods/Maps. Because of The Center being added as an Official Map during the Mod Contest now, it will shortly be removed from the Mod Contest competition placement and the next entrant will be moved up. I guess the sheer size of Valhalla is what may have put people off. Feels like The Center is a compromise but I'd still take it over the tiny Island we've had for almost a year now. Hopefully the mods will keep new players interested, and not be over thrown by the constant grindfest. Anyways, with the Mod contest going on, I guess I figured they'd put some of the cool attributes into play. Easier to platform proof these ready made community add-ons that have been already tested and have a feedback, than to risk it with a new idea and start developing it from scratch. +1 for anything that spices things up.

Hello Survivors! We’re back again with another announcement straight from PAX East 2016! We told you that there would be a lot coming this week, and a bit of everything for everyone and we’ll be true to our words. Studio Wildcard is proud and excited to announce the ARK: Official Mods program. What this means is that we’ll be able to take a step further when working with Mods and begin integrating them into our Official ARK System. We will be launching this program starting with The Center Map for Xbox One and PC in May 2016. Designed by community member Ben Burkart, The Center adds an over-the-top, fantasy-themed map that doubles the size of the current game and is more varied than the original ARK map, with tons of new biomes, dungeons, floating islands, end-of-the-world waterfalls, massive ancient ruins, along with other wonders to explore and secrets to find. Drawn completely by hand without any auto-generated content, The Center is a massive increase in the game's official playable content and is free to both PC and Xbox One players. Following that we’ll be working hard to introduce more of your favourite mods to the game with Primitive+ (already an Official Mod on PC). In the case of Primitive Plus, players are challenged to use only wood and stone without the benefit of advanced metals to create weapons such as guns. A whole new set of items and detailed new mechanics focus the player on 'primitive' survival, which fits snugly in the world of ARK. Primitive Plus will be playable as a functionality mod on all official ARK maps. We really appreciate and value the hard work and effort that goes into the mods from the community and will do what we can to help, this new program is another step we’re going to take to ensure that modders get all the support they need and are recognized for their contribution and efforts in ARK! Now I face the dilemma of having to decide if I want to start my dedicated over on the Center map.

I am one of the ones who is confused as well. I play on PC. Will The Center be an official server listed on our Official List, when it is released? For instance, right now you can choose, The Island for every single type of server. After May will we see The Island AND The Center as choices? Also, if Primitive Plus is going to be an official mod, will we see Primitive Plus PVE servers and Primitive Plus PVP servers as separate choices that we can play on The Center? These choices will be listed just like the Official Server listings now? If that is how it will be... OMG! It will be like a whole brand new ARK game.

I want to tel @Jat And @Jen and the rest of the Ark team i cant tag directly, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ,THANK YOU! I had a sneaking feeling you were going to be putting this on Xbox and when i seen not only the Center map as well as Primitive Plus..... WOW! I actually gave a shout snatched up my wife and son (who both play ark as well) and played the Youtube Video 4 times analyzing everything LOL! so excited. i want to say to the other members of the community we need to be grateful to the Ark Devs for not just allowing such a great game but remember its a treasure that we get to play it early for cheaper. get to experience the development of such a amazing game and we actually get to help build it by making suggestions to the Team. The more we support this amazing team the better the game gets. and finally to the Mod designers of The Center map Mr.Ben Burkart and The Primitive plus mod. I'm looking forward to primitive plus. In my opinion, the more the game makes me feel like a caveman, the better. I would like to see blowpipes added.

To be honest this reboots my entire interest and experience, new map twice as big to replace the stagnant and the primative+ looks great BOATS and HO...er.. cannons!

Really great job guys, you're really innovating games on consoles, first console commands now mods. Can't wait to see what happens, keep up the good work

Very, very true! (: I'd be perfectly fine if The Center was the only one to make it, but Valhalla would certainly be perfect for Official Servers, as many people complain about lack of space for new and old tribes to build on.

Wow! Definitely very excited for The Center. I've been dying to get it on Xbox One! So if we'll be getting fan favorite mods... I wonder if Valhalla will be coming soon as well?

There are two mods on the horizon for Xbox One players. The first one will be the map known as The Centre, coming in May, and the second one is the Primitive Plus mod that will be coming at a later date.

I saw the comments and the only think i can say is.....STOP THE CRYING!!! Bunch of babes...selfish people! The game is already released on XBOX is been months, they are also updating the game! Now on the first announcement of something for PS4, they cry like babes, "we should get it first because we support"! PS4 player who have been waiting for play this game cannot play until the release! I bet that, if they post something about SOTF releasing first on XBOX they will all be smiling!! This is just a feature of the main game, that once again, XBOX users already have, and are crying about it!

Oh my lord! They've said that it WILL be coming to Xbox one. What's with millennials these days? Thinking everything is owed to them and over reacting if they feel slighted. You are not getting screwed. Then theres the part of where you are essentially participating in a beta and complaining about bugs. Content will still be added, things will still be optimized and polished.

They have to get the PS hype train going. This is a good strategy! I'm sure it will be available on Xbox too. Don't get year knickers in a twist, just be patient.
