  • Community Crunch 211: Winter Wonderland 4

    Winter Wonderland will be returning for the fourth time on Tuesday with all new presents for ARK survivors.  The winter-themed holiday event begins tomorrow at 10am PST for PC, XBOX, and PS4 and will last until Tuesday, January 7th.  All maps will receive Winter Wonderland and all its content including RaptorClaus and GachaClaus, however only The Island will have a visual winter theme.

    One of our most notable helpers, RaptorClaus, will be back to drop off holiday gifts filled with loot, event items, mistletoe, and lumps of coal for all those naughty survivors.  You'll be able to catch RaptorClaus flying across the skies at midnight (game time) on all maps.

    GachaClaus is also returning to help RaptorClaus spread the holiday cheer!  GachaClaus will be roaming all maps in holiday garb and sporting holiday-themed colors. He will be accepting your coal and in exchange will gift you holiday themed items, or you can trade in your mistletoe and coal for a chance at event items. weapons, armor and a brand new event item, Chibis!

    While Winter Wonderland is active, you'll have a chance to collect over 50 ARK chibi pets.  ARK chibi pets are cute miniaturized versions of the creatures you have become familiar with in your travels across the ARK universe.  Chibi's pets can be leveled up by killing specific alpha creatures and in return, you'll be granted additional player levels .  Some chibi pets may be harder to find so you'll have to visit GachaClaus and RaptorClaus to find all the chibi pets!  Can you collect them all? 

    Winter Wonderland Event Notes 

    Initiation of Winter Wonderland:
    Can be manually activated with: -ActiveEvent=WinterWonderland launch parameter
    Increased rates to 2X Breeding (mating interval, egg hatch speed, and maturation)
    Increased rates to 2X Player XP
    Increased rates to 2X Harvesting
    Increased rated to 2X Taming
    Added Event-themed wild dino spawns
    The Island has been given a makeover with a winter landscape and foliage.
    Coal and Mistletoe can be obtained from Raptor Claus gift drops
    Raptor Claus:
        Will spawn at midnight and drop gifts across the island.
        Gifts some special items like holiday structures, some skins, color candies, and chibis.
    Gacha Claus:
        Spawns on all maps
        Placing coal/mistletoe in the inventory of a wild Gacha Claus will cause it to grow crystals.
        The crystals have higher quality loot and a chance for chibis

    Chibi Ugly Sweater
    Red-Ball winter hat
    Gray-ball Winter Hat
    Purple Ball Winter Hat
    Reindeer Antlers Hat

    AT THE TIME OF THIS POST, TAMING WASN'T PART OF THE EVENT!

    Why no 2x taming? At least for this one event. I love the 2x breeding don’t get me wrong but I’d love to tame my favorite creatures without wasting half of my day.

    I wonder if the chibis are breedable, doubt there is an ice titan chibi but a magmasaur is not to bad at all.

    y no 2x taming we just had this in the last event. 2x taming would help out the beginners and people who ain't in large tribes

    Can we please have an event where we get purple 31 on more than just one color zone? =\  Purple would have been a fine winter wonderland color.  I'm excited about the chibis though.

    Can you please address the characters lost during the latest server roll back!

    i’ve had a ticket in for a week now with no response. 

    First it was a LOCKOUT timer so I left my character in the ob and got off...

    Then you rolled the servers to “help??” Some players right after I get back on and download to my server causing my to loose my only character...

    now I can’t even get a “we’ve received your ticket and will get back to you in approximately ...” letter...

    All week... crickets...

    Babies... dead...

    generators... running low...

    imprints and ob... gone...

    ticket... submitted...

    all week... crickets...

    This is just soo much fun! I have no idea what a Chibi Pet is but it sounds so much fun to collect them all. Merry Christmas Wildcard!!!
