    ARK Stream Returns!

    At 1 PM Pacific Time on March 5th, members of the ARK development team will be hosting a Developer Livestream on our Twitch channel!

    Our Community-focused livestreams went over well with the community so we decided to restructure slightly to bring even more members of our team into the mix! We invite you to join us from our Seattle office as we discuss the latest developments with ARK.

    In next weeks' stream we will be showcasing and discussing our biggest addition and change to the game: the Structures Plus and Kibble rework.

    We'll also be allowing questions from you--the community--in a live form Digest. We invite you to leave your ARK or development related questions in the comment section below and we will be selecting an assortment of your questions to answer live on stream.

    Structures Plus (S+) & Kibble Rework Beta Closing!

    This week is the final week to participate in the open Structures Plus and Kibble Rework beta before the testing period closes to the public. If you have not tried it out and/or given your feedback regarding the changes we invite you to do so! Please check out the post below for all of the information on how you can get involved in play testing this beta.

    Mod Community Updates!

    Get your mods ready, sponsorship program applications open again on Friday! We will also be announcing a couple of new sponsored projects next week!

    We're making some adjustments to what has been our focus for sponsored projects. Going forward we will be looking at more small scope projects as well, instead of only the large scope projects like we have been up to this point. A result of this adjustment is that you will begin to see more projects with shorter-term sponsorship's making their way into the program and, by proxy, a somewhat higher rotation rate leading to more opportunities.

    We want to encourage everyone, no matter the scale of your projects, to apply for sponsorship during each application period. Even if a project isn't selected during a given application period it helps me to keep a finger on the pulse of everyone that's interested in being sponsored and seeing how your projects and plans develop.

    Upcoming Server Maintenance!

    On February 27th beginning at 12pm EST we will be conducting a small maintenance on a portion of our Official Servers. We expect maintenance to last for approximately 1 hour. Below is a list of all affected servers.

    Evolution Event!

    Survivors on all platforms will be receiving a special Evolution Event perk this weekend! It will be active from Friday the 1st of March at 1 PM EST until Monday the 4th of March at 3 PM EST. All Official Servers across each platform will be undergoing this evolutionary change which includes:

    • 2x Harvesting Rates
    • 2x Taming Rates
    • 2x EXP Rates

     4th of February is the 2x running the whole year and we still have no date for s+ at least let bloggers like loaded crysis know a ETA or something thank you wildcard

    will the center be getting any tlc. and what is the next BIG project for ark other then the kibble rework and Structures Plus ? will it be more tlc pass a new map a new dlc  some new addation to older maps ? isthere a list of thing wildcard hoping to bring to ark this year.

    How difficult would it be for y’all to maybe make the Titanoboas have even a slightly boosted egg laying rate?  I’ve been sitting with mine for literally 7 hours and not gotten one egg, and that’s with the Ovi boost.  Since they are one of only two eggs used to make the Extraordinary kibble, and arguably the easier of the two to attain, it seems like a major flaw.  Also maybe an Oviraptor that can pick up eggs would be amazing!

    Dark and Light is getting an "engine reconstruction" as well as an added layer of character/dino/item transfer protection before their 1.0 release. Will Ark be getting these changes shared with them akin to ATLAS/ARK sharing functionalities together?

    I am a little worried, but I guess more confused. How will our unofficial server be affected when the S+ update becomes official and we are already running the S+ mod?

    Can you please fix the Titan music?  It plays for hours after the Titan is tamed/killed.

    Will you fill the plot hole in your story in ark which is  the scorched earth ascension that explains the missing gap in how the player gets off the scorched earth ark and enters into the aberration ark before you make and launch a dlc or sequel game that takes place after the events of the Ark dlc Extinction?

    A way to solve that problem is to add in the intro and defeat music scores for the titans into the game, so that way the game can program itself to end the music.

    It's been asked in the past, but do you plan to add a proper scorched earth ending/ascension for those who are seeking a conclusion to said map? Thanks.

    We still have a ton of bugs in the beta that still need fixed, are you really going to just push it to live and hope for the best?

    The kibble rework isn't finish yet as some creatures don't have a kibble yet and some eggs are in groups they probably shouldn't be in. And we just got the changes to imprinting a week ago and that has problems.

    As for the integrated S+ we have snap point problems, modded S+ not working, and structures switching between modded and ark versions randomly on map load.

    In regard to kibble rework

    It seems rediculed that the extraordinary kibble can only be tamed from rockdrake, wyvern or hesperonis eggs.

    for people playing on only one map, on official or for those on private dedicated or single player only playing on one map or small clusters, hesperonis golden eggs are difficult to obtain due to there randomness in nature and there are various scenarios and situations where people on consoles (no mod support) or PC, will not have access to wyvern or drake eggs and therefore will have an extraordinarily difficult time taming a thylacoleo with kibble, which is something that has almost became one of the important must have mounts, 

    I'm aware as a development choice making thyla harder to obtain because of there over use but you also need to consider that for imprinting Dino's it is the hardest kibble by a large margin now

    I've noticed that sitting beside them doesn't help, I just stay active in base and keep checking back every so often for eggs. Oviraptors do pick up eggs if they are not weighed down

    Also a swift punch in the head as you run past seems to do the trick.

    In the past Sunday, i found a 125 reaper queen got her down to 2k hp, she grabbed me and buried away afterwards but i didnt get the embryo. Is this a bug? 

    Ps: my shinehorn was far away enough not to affected the queen with charge

     

    Also are we getting new tek saddles/structures that we were promised like the wyvern tek saddle?

     

    Also if you guys do SE ascension cutscene can you also make bosses for the center and ragnarok? The center doesnt get many love and ragnarok despite beign a beloved map, i think that unique bosses would make they even more enjoyable to play

    i believe official s+ is like vanilla s+ items. If currently in unofficial vanilla stuff have that 30 sec timer to take back and it works then i believe no conflicts for your s+ mod.

    Question for the developer stream:

    Is scorched Earth going to get Ascension? Right now it's a very lackluster map in terms of end game with just fighting the manticore, and it doesn't have any Ascension cinematic despite it being a main map.

    Is S+ going to work with primitive plus with all the different building types? Is primitive plus going to get any new love as there are only a handful of servers on Xbox?
