  2. This has always been normal for ASE, twins and triplets have identical mutations. I don't know for 100% certain that it's normal in ASA, but considering that the vast majority of the code in ASA is the original code from ASE imported into UE5, my educated guess is that it's normal for ASA also. I'd be pretty surprised if this was something they chose to recode, doesn't sound like something important enough for them to spend time & money changing.

Sorry guys but Cryopod work is still in progress. They used some "magic" flags for the compression before doing zlib and we're still trying to work out the meaning of these to get the raw format we expect to parse. I'll have an update out as soon as we have something reliable and consistently readable from all cryo data.

  5. I have no idea if the devs even read these but I thought I would try my hand at posting an idea. Currently resources in ark ascended work by having individual timers. This puts more stress on the servers and on your system in single player since they have to keep track of every individual node and its timer. This performance hit is probably negligible but it's still there. This also means that on single player resources in hibernation won't respawn unless you are in render. My proposal? Have resources respawn based on a schedule instead of a timer. For example at a certain time or day in game, all resources of that type on the map will respawn. As long as they meet the requirements to respawn (not to close to structures or players.) The schedule can be similar to how aberration works where certain resources will be slated to respawn on certain days for servers or certain times for single player. The exact values can be adjusted as needed, but the general consensus I came to was having the values for single player be these. Single player: Bushes: 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, 18:00 in game everyday. Trees, rocks, silica pearls: 12:00 and 00:00 in game everyday. All endgame resources such as metal, obsidian, crystal, black pearls, and element: 00:00 in game everyday. Cave loot drops and deep ocean crates: 00:00 in game everyday. For official servers the values could be these. Bushes: 12:00 in game everyday. Trees, rocks, silica pearls: 00:00 in game every day. Endgame resources: 00:00 on days ending in 5 and 0. (5 in game days between respawns) Cave drops and deep sea crates: 00:00 on days ending in 5 and 0. How would this work for single player and private servers? In the main menu where you customize your server settings you will see resource respawn schedule instead of respawn interval. Underneath this will be a list of every resource in the game as well as 2 numbers, time in game written in military time. And days, which is how many in game days you want it to take between respawns. The 2 numbers together will decide on what day and at what time that resource will respawn. For example if you set metal to have the values of 00:00 and 5. Then you will have metal respawn at midnight in game every 5 in game days. (Days are counted from 0) I know this is a lot to read so thank you to whoever took the time to read this and please give me your feedback in the comments.

  6. I play on small tribes with a small group of friends, we all have full time jobs and one of us has kids. Finding time to play the game much more than an hour a day can be tough sometimes and as you know small tribes pvp it takes a good amount of time to grind out and defend a base worth while. To help us from getting raided we have lived on a quetzal at the sky border it allows us to progress in the game and to even do bosses without having to worry about getting raided every day and loosing tames. All the new rules to cryopods I had no problem but the no cryo fridges on saddles really stops us from progressing any futher than a couple pts and argys

  8. Hi, i'm struggling hard with the new german Dino translation. The names are stupid like hell. Please stop that and change them back to the originals. I've played ASE after launch. I can handle the original Dino names. I don' t need stupid Google-Translations like Raptor -> Raubvogel or things which aren't even translations like: Argentavis -> Silber Anky -> Anomoulous Phiomia -> Phhhemie and there are many more. The best thing is, the saddles aren't translated... Please undo this BS! Greets Bonzai

  11. I literally took a vacation from work to have time to play your scam of a game. On Christmas morning, your game crashes because I threw a cryopod. The save gets corrupted & I lose over 200+ hours of work. After I recover the save & login, I find I have been kicked from my own tribe & my own turrets won't let me into my house. All on single player for Christ's sake. I could've been doing something else with that time. I could've been playing a different game. do you feel comfortable contributing to the fall of society like this? I want my 45$ back

  12. I’ve had this for weeks but it’s got far worse in the last day or so. Why can’t wildcard just acknowledge it and tell us it will be fixed. It’s killing my enjoyment of the game and I play it a lot

  13. Simple, really. Just like with cryopods, it's the act of taking away something long enough to "build hype". So when it's finally released again, they can re-market it as "amazing brand new feature(s)!" and people won't bat an eye.

  14. The real question everyone should be asking is not "how can we get around this," it's why won't the devs even acknowledge the problem or give us assurance that they are trying to resolve it. Ignoring the problem and not talking about it, Wildcard, only gives rise to dissension, disgust, and displeasure with your product. I'm not sure why any of us, your loyal customers, continue to support you!

  17. That's what wc's done since forever. Now me personally; I don't like cryopods and don't use them, because I don't like or use anything tek tier in Ark cause I don't want a sci fi game when I'm playing dinosaurs. BUT; this terrible kinds of decision making is what wc's done since always. They disabled speed on flyers in A.S.E. (Cause people in pvp were whining about it.) They disabled flyers being able to fly in caves in A.S.E. (Cause people in pvp were whining about it.) They increased damage dealt to structures in caves. (Cause people in pvp were whining about it.) They've disabled speed entirely now on A.S.A. (Cause people in pvp whined about it) They disabled the ability to force-feed knocked out players to keep them from dying and respawning. (Cause people in pvp whinned about it.) And tons of other decisions; including the Giga nerfs and now the Rhynio nerfs. For some of this from a server stability standpoint, I kinda understand. But, wc has always introduced cool new things into their Ark game, and then either taken them away or nerfed them to the point where they aren't immersive anymore or are just plain terrible; because someone in the pvp area of the game complained that it was too difficult to deal with. Well, isn't that the point of a "Survival Game"? To overcome the difficulties through determination and creative means? I mean, they introduced Alpha Creatures because people said the game wasn't challenging enough anymore; and then they nerfed Alpha Creatures to the point where they may as well not even exist anymore because people said they were too hard. Sure, no-one wants to get knocked out in pvp and caged and force-fed so that you can't escape. But, what happens in real life when you are captured by the enemy? It was immersive and entertaining and created great stories even if you were the one that someone captured. That was the point! Gigas were big scary murderous bulldozers. That was the point! But wc always waters down their game till I start to ask myself; what's the point?

  18. I don't think it was a good idea to make this WW event competitive, especially on PvE. Like, why are we competing in a race to get to drops from Raptorclaus first? It'd be alright, if everyone attending a drop got their own loot! This has been my first experience playing this event (I never played it on ASE) and I was genuinely excited to experience it, but upon learning that it is basically a 'whoever grabs it first, wins', like your standard drops and seeing the individual material cost for the event items, I pretty much lost all interest. Completely missed the point of the holiday; people totally fight amongst themselves for gifts under the tree(!) The only interesting thing about this event, is the mechanic in order to get the Krampus Skin and the skin itself - that's literally it. My recommendations? Let everybody get their own loot from drops. Make it a community celebration thing open to all, not just a competitive race amongst flyers.

  21. Wildcard, why dont you add option, when is event Like this or anykind of event that we can change players name?? We get boring from started name or even make a mistake on begin and name stayed human 😂😂 (Like me) but dont wont lose progress on official pve. Thanks

  22. Hey, was just wondering if this didn't get added as I don't see it in the structures pane/grid in 5.0.0.7/8 Not a big issue, just would be nice to see when structures were placed down for disputes etc. ^^
