Community Crunch 305: Lost Island Transfers, Map Updates, and More!

Can't wait till there's a community crunch where they're like 'Guess what xbox unofficial....we're bringing back bee hives...'

The only item of any importance in this whole crunch was the date for opening Lost Island transfers. No EVO event, nothing else of any importance

Disappointing there's no evo event, but apart from that what did you expect or want them to say?

"We're expecting this patch to be a significant download so consider this a heads up in advance!"

A--..Are the others NOT considered large? I'm scared.

well, something about Fenrir being a 4th confirmed creature, I don't think WC mentioned that here yet.

All I see is a huge fix that will probably create havoc and break the game even worse than it is now and I also see no evo event yet again I can honestly say it is a huge disappointment. I can honestly say that I believe the devs has stopped caring about ark and the people that play it 

I hope you guys have a good St Patrick holiday event planned with all these Evo events not happening. All PVE needs is an arena where people can fight dinos and bet safely. Loads of dinos grown for nothing needs a reason a duel arena would be that reason. As long as both parties agree on the type of duel or battle outside the open world it should be safe. No open world PvP with being transferred to a boss arena like area is perfect. I want to grow dodos for fights without being wiped

I don't use Discord anymore so I won't be sharing any of mine for this, but I find the Stories idea sweet  As the end of Ark The First inexorably approaches (slowly, VERY SLOOOWLY, but surely) for the release of Ark2 in 2043, I feel nostalgic about a lot of the stories, big and small, that have happened to me in the game, and I love to hear the stories of other players. For many of us with hundreds or thousands of hours (half of them spent on updating the game  ), Ark has been a big part of our lives, so there should be a lot of great stories to fill the Community Corners even when there's nothing to announce, like the past couple of weeks.

...Or for when I have to leave the PC on for 12hrs for the giant update you're promising. Could we have one hint about something coming in this update ? You need to tease us more about these things !

I'll be a nice thing to have for ARK2 too ! Especially if there are tags that allow us to browse them easily, which for now is not very important, but over time will be. At least to find art by creature ?

(and I wouldn't be mad at a way to browse stories as they are added, too... That would be an incredible ebook or coffee table book to gift to a fellow survivor, also !)

Another week of console bugs going unacknowledged for months ...great. Be sure to Buy Ark 2 though right?

Can't believe there's no evo event again... I'm getting tired of it.  2x weekends will help.  But noooooo it's ridiculous. Game still has bugs too and idk it's just stupid. 

I don't get why, every week, people moan about no Evo event. Shouldn't Evo events just be occasional special occurrences, not a weekly thing ? I mean, if you prefer slightly boosted rates, which is ok (each to their own), there are plenty of unofficial servers which cater for any rate requirement you want. If you prefer to play on official servers, you know the rates you are signing up for.

This is just my opinion, don't troll me for it .. Peace

Because it's human nature to complain or be disappointed about something when something is given to you then taken away.

I can guarantee you now, that if the Devs increased base rates permanently by 2x (again), but didn't do EVOs at weekend, people would still complain at the weekends, even though every day is the equivalent of an EVO weekend. That's a fact, because it's happened twice before.

I doubt it would happen again, only if they would chose to exclude breeding from that or maybe after release of ARK2.

Farming ressources on non Genesis Server or Abberation for Metal, is just a hastle. Even with Stryder it takes way too long to farm a good amount of ressources. Lets take Metal on Island as an example, you probably farm less in 60 minutes than someone on aberration in 10 Minutes.

And tbh except farming dedis full of ressources and breeding some color combos - there isn't anything else to do anymore. All major Dino are at top stats, even some Gen2 Creatures. People have thousand or hundred thousand tek stored, because its faster to farm for tek structures than farming for stone.

 

People chose to rather build and maintain a Gacha Tower for element than raising dino to do bosses - Because in the 4 days a rex takes to raise, you get more element through that gacha tower than doing 10 bosses after those rexes are ready.

 

Almost all PvP Modes have higher rates 24/7 so why not atleast giving their majority of players higher rates on weekends? Performence isn't a reason, since Gen1 and Gen2 server are like sh*t even without events.

 

So what reason is left? Stubborness - Yes. I remember when WC tried to give us an Evo Event with better crops, higher recipes and such things. They got such a hard poopstorm they changed it on day 1. They've been sulking since then and we've got less and less Evo Events, especially Evo Events with breeding. (Evo events on first year of corona not included)

 

But as ced always says "You're getting heard!" - Yeah no...not regarding evo events or other things.

Lets take RMT as an example, there's an "auction" site where you literally can shop dino and such líke things on amazon. WC should have enough influence and money to take down said site or atleast make them stop providing a plattform for ARK stuff.

Ok I can get behind the Ark stories myself.  I have quite a few like everyone else, but I don’t u discord so I probably won’t be sharing too many.  One that is a good one is how my old legacy tribe from server 68 escorted a Juvenile giga from the middle of the swamp to the far northeast corner of the island using 7 full grown gigas and 4 battle quetzs, that was fun! Lol.

Now on to business, number 1:  We will probably not see to many evo events before eggcellent adventure event(Easter).  Personally I would like to see the rollbacks and crashing of servers for no apparent reason be resolved first before we get another evo event.  Gen 2 servers go from crashing and rollback once every hour-hour and a half, to rolling back every 30 minutes, if not more.  Evo events tax already unstable servers.  My question is, will console be getting that update?  I’m positive will but WHEN?  If it’s quite large for PC, I’m rather scared what it’ll look like for console, but most of all, I HOPE IT FIXES SOME SHHHTUUFFF!!!

My pc took long enough on the normal  download. I’m scared.

time for u to address the ps5 enhancement upgrade, is it coming or is it not? At this point we just wanna know, not knowing and having hopes up is just the worst. :(

That's what I've been saying for weeks now, but some people apparently take it as a weird point of pride to stay in official while simultaneously remaining blind to the fact that fussing about how they want an EVO every cc flies directly in the face of a core aspect of official. It's an event, enjoy it when it crops up if you can but don't act as if its mandatory. If you genuinely can't get by in official without evos then don't play official, simple as. Additionally people need to stop implying that the devs are somehow malicious or neglectful of the players just because rate boosts aren't a constant. At worst they're inept at fixing core issues with the game itself, something they need to work on. But constant derision in lieu of actual criticism runs the risk of turning the devs into the kind of people that these guys insist that they are.  I mean I'm not sure about anyone else, but I know that I atleast would struggle to love a fanbase I had if every time I tried to say something I got hit with a deluge of comments that can be boiled down to some iteration of "your product sucks and I think you dislike us because you didn't give us the free thing we don't need".

There are loads of reasons why people insist on playing nothing but official, and I respect every single one of those reasons...... with the exception of one......

That one being when people state they play Official because they want to the play the game the way the Devs intended. Now this reason on its own is fine, but then when the Devs don't intend on doing an EVO event they complain. Which rules out the original reason for playing on officials.

By all means if someone genuinely enjoys the way official is then that's their right. But you're striking a really important  point here by bringing up the intention of the devs. The second that a player says they want to play it "as the devs intended" they forfeit the right to complain if the developer intends to withhold something nonessential to the running of the game. 

Once you put control of all in game resource functions in the hands of the game developers then that's that.

Can I just make a comment, all the new maps and dinos are great. But could we get an upgrade/expansion on the homestead/s+ mod for vanilla/console, that would be lovely. Like glass dino doors, upside down sloped walls, furniture, half walls, stacking foundation, etc and maybe through in some stuff from the eco mod, maybe some plants and trees for plots, more decor type stuff

Hey when are we gonna get some news about the ps5 enhancement. I don’t normally try to rush anything but it was announced a year ago and their has been barely any talk from wildcard about it. I know a lot of people that would get this game or come back just because of this update. So please try to get some information about it out soon. 🙏
