Sleeping bags...why can't we pick them up? The one item actually designed by human kind to be a mobile bed, and we can't move it...but if you want to pick up your house piece by piece, no problem. 😂 I would also vote for a faster decay timer on sleeping bags, like maybe 24 hours. That would help caves look like caves again and not a teenager slumber party.

A baby's ability to hold weight when first born is very limited. This limits how much food it can hold. So in the beginning you must stay close and constantly feed it a few pieces at a time. As it grows it will be able to hold more food, and you can walk away for longer periods of time. It won't eat from a trough until it is 10% mature. If you have new babies and you're logging out for a couple hours to play something else...they will die every time.

I think the event is better than it was before. I like the concept of gifts under a tree. However, I largely chose not to participate in any of the reindeer games this year as the competition for presents falling from the sky as well as killing dinos to move the naughty/nice meter was as fierce as I have ever seen on a server. Our server was often without many wild dinos because so many people were running around on gigas eating everything in sight. Finding high level event dinos to tame was nearly impossible. I spent most of my time breeding and raising babies. Looking forward to next year though when people are spread out a little more between the maps. Xmas event was not enjoyable for me this year.

It should help when other maps come out. Players can finally spread out a little. Yes, structures will be on both as people move back and forth....but player counts on individual servers will go down. Waiting in the Que might be a thing of the past soon....I hope.

I think they'll wow us with more 1.5x rates. However, after lag and roll back is factored into the equation it will be closer to 0.75 rates. Happy New Year. 🎉

Yesterday I hatched some eggs in the morning. Said I had about 4 hours to first imprint. 7 hours later I was still waiting to imprint. It's a joke. What's the point of advertising special events rates if the lag is soooooo rediculous that it doesn't matter? Game is crashing more often in these last few weeks than it did in November. I thought things would be getting better. Not worse. Anyway, I put the babies away and logged off. All my other tribe mates hardly play anymore because server instability. We've been hit hard with crashes at the wrong time. Lost a team of rexes in a boss fight and some favorite tames while caving...along with hours of grinding mats for saddles. It has been emotionally crushing the last few weeks. Bad things keep happening. Bought something else to play for awhile. I might try again in another day or so to see if it's working. Fingers are crossed that things get better, but I gotta say, my grip on Ark is loosening. 4 years in Ark, can't do another 4 like this. Sorry. Product needs to improve.

Yep. I tamed one on ASA. And it will be my only one until they fix it. Way too hard to see anything and took way too long to accomplish.

@AngerFish, I play PVE as well and unfortunately it is a reality that some people prefer to take things from others rather than do the work for themselves. It is what it is. I prefer not to build huge warehouses, so I often just patrol the area with a trike. You should be able to use the knock-back effect to push any enemy Ovi raptors out of the area. Having a parasaur will help ping the enemies and make finding them a little easier. It only takes a few minutes but might save you the hassle of building a fortress.

Is there something in the server list that gives you this information or where would I go to see the current number of tames on my server? Because the official PVE server I belong to has not hit said limit. This would be good to know and watch as we get close. Or, did your server hit the limit and you are making a wild statement out of frustration thinking all others are also at the limit?

On Xbox, you can depress one of the thumbsticks while in your inventory to turn item labels on and off.

Did nothing today. Still waiting for console and it's really feeling like it could be awhile yet. I'm not holding my breath for "early next week" or even Nov 30. So I think I might load up ASE again for my fix. I haven't played since servers went down and don't know if unofficial is still a thing, but I'll check that option. Otherwise it'll be SP. If anyone has a suggestion for a good unofficial Xbox server...let me know. Thanks.

I don't think they've SAID anything to contradict December release for Scorched Earth....but you're free to read between the lines all you want. I'm okay with them focusing on releasing the Island to all platforms first. And fixing bugs/ issues like server stability second...before turning their attention down the road. SE can wait imo.

Preparing for Xbox release. Today I watched videos on breeding and mutations. Not as good as playing, but it is something. Thanks to all the YouTubers putting out videos and letting us follow along with your journey.

I'm an Xbox player and getting ready to start my journey next week with my friends. I heard official servers were nearly unplayable (too many crashes, wait-list for getting in, over crowding when you did get in, pillar spamming, etc). The people putting out the videos are either on SP mode or unofficial servers so it's hard to see "official" game play. 1. From those still playing official PVE, is it getting any better after the reported fixes I keep reading about? 2. With what you've learned and seen in the last two weeks... what advice might a PC player give to an experienced group of Xbox players for next week on official PVE? Thanks.

I welcome the challenge of no pods. I like rules that make games harder...for the fun of it. Ark is a marathon anyway. Enjoy it. Stop complaining. Roll up your sleeves and figure it out. Strategize. Use time wisely. Position yourself for success. Build two bases to spread out the herd. Breed on weekends. Tribe up and take turns babysitting. Build a community on the server so you don't all breed rexes. Specialize and trade. Think smart. Survive. You can do it. Good luck.

I thought there was a mod on ASE that made oceans more clear. I'm an Xbox player and don't know for sure...and haven't looked through the new mod list yet to confirm but you might want to look at the list.

@Stewbawl good points. Don't forget water mounts for those caves too. 100 dino limit will be tough for sure. In the scenario you just brought up for a tribe of 4, it may be necessary to split into two tribes of two...and form an alliance. Especially as you think about bosses. One boss army of rexes doesn't always work. Might need a second army of therizinos to fight dragon for instance. Many people also prefer megatherium for spider. It might be possible the limit is temporary until they get server stability under control. That does make some sense to me. Everyone knows how laggy the game can get when you fly over a mass breeder's base, even when server is good. So I'm actually ok with a limit for now. I guess we can't keep all the cute babies we find 😂

I've been watching lots of videos and you're not the only one experiencing extreme hot/cold. I don't know if it has anything to do with difficulty setting or if the game was designed to be more difficult this way. It is a survival game after all. I like it getting harder this way 😉...look for an otter.

Don't need ptera to get argy. Lots of ways to get them. One way is build a trap near argies and use yourself as bait. Stand near trap entrance. Shoot one with tranq dart. It will aggro on you. Lead it into trap as you run out the other side. Walk around to shut door. Done. Make a saddle before you leave home so you can fly back.

I can tell you spent some time putting your post together. You bring up some valid points. But it's stuff we all know. I am an Xbox player, haven't even been able to touch the game yet...and I know all that you complained about. it's amazing you think they don't already know all that, and your post just comes across as a big rant/complaint. Sorry if I came across harshly. I don't fault you for wanting a better game. However, I get tired of complaining if it's just complaining. There are places in the forum to report bugs. If you list them here it doesn't go anywhere. It's just a complaint. The game is new. They are working on it. Improvements are made every day. It will get better. Be patient.

Yah. Understand the whole OCD thing. Are you SP or playing on official. That might make a difference for your option to use commands. Beyond that, I'm an Xbox player and won't be much help with PC commands. Still, I would just walk away as tough as it might be.
