Xbox Nitrado Private Server - Ragnarok (PVP/PVE mix) Accomplished very little last night. Had no energy after work. Hopefully, tonight will be different. Still waiting on friend to do his part of stuff, so I can do mine. Not exactly fair if I do everything and he gets to just have all the fun. But enough whining. I managed to harvest a bit of metal and feed the dinos.

Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Ragnarok and Aberration. Started of by doing a bit of farming on Ragnarok. Needed to get some more supplies together to transfer across to Aberration. Crafted up a industrial grill, forge and chemistry bench. Crafted up a bunch of behomoth gates to go round the base too. Mind wiped so I could craft up new custom recipes to transfer over to Aberration so I was not reliant on transfers for food. Got all the supplies into the obelisk and finally remebered to transfer a bulbdog too. Jumped onto Aberration. Took a Spino to the public teleporter by portal and downloaded everything I had just transfered, and got back to base. First things first I just had to spray paint the entire building black, cant put up with the glare much longer. So much better now, although I need to paint the door a different colour as I now struggle to find it. Might have to paint some accents on the structure, maybe cyan, blue or even red, its just too black lol. Installed the grill, cooker and chemistry bench. Leaving the forge in a vault for just now untill I can decide what to do with it. Then started putting down the behomoth gates, going along the lake shore first. Just about ran into a basilisk while scouting out where the gates needed to go. So I ran back to base to grab the 3 spinos. Decided not to grab a spy glass to check its level. When I coaxed the snake out the ground, I saw the basilisk had a red glow, an alpha.... oooppsss. So I charged in anyway throwing caution to the wind. Of course the inevitable happened and its poison gas killed me off my spino. Ran back to where I died to find the 3 spinos and also my freshly transfered bulbdog still battering away at the snake. Lol come on bulbdog you can do it lol !. I was amazed it lasted that long. Just before the spinos dealt with the basilisk the bulbdog finally died... oh well at least I still have the spinos. Thats enough excitement for one evening. I think the next stop is to continue building the perimeter wall and also either tame up a doed and anky here or more than likely I'll just transfer some across from Ragnarok. Of course I'll also need to tame a roll rat.

Only logged in shortly. Got volunteered to help the sister in-law move.. noticed my buddy brought over two of his white bears from Rag so I bred up a nice imprinted bear for my new ab toon (my other bears there arent imprinted to me) and did a quick resource run then logged. Before that messed around with a wild Sarco.. im going to have to find a high level Aberrant one, they look fun after the TLC

If the roller coaster stops would it still be fun? i wanted to do some solo-ing last night so I could close off our fence. Twenty seconds after logging in, in the middle of the night, a theriz wandered up and killed my son’s dodo. This set off a bloodbath that left a total of 9 tames dead: among the corpses was 5 Dilos and a new female trike. It took the death of another trike for me to get the rythym of the knock back down. By the time I was ready to log off (which was way too late for a working man) I had tamed 8 new Dinos. Got a breeding pair of dimos ( shout out to Aushegun and others who take time to help the new guy), gathered my first two fertilized eggs, and finished the fenced yard. Finally planted the special veges, and am anxious to see if the son is as apathetic toward fake gardening as he is with real gardening. The carbo I got seems superfluous now. I was going to lvl hp and use it as bait to tame a carno or some other man-eating beast. Thoughts?

Well i never. following on from the above. Went on last night, ready to have nothing left. Turns out, our casual gamer had not even been on once! But randomly, an old tribe member from when we were on the server years ago logged in to the server and found he was still in the tribe and everything has been saved. was like a breath of fresh air. did a good meat run (4 brontos and a alpha raptor standing next to each other was a good start) and made everyone happy then logged off!

The wife and I played a lot today. Started out feeding all the tames, then decided we wanted a Wooly Rhino. Already tamed a high level Male Terror Bird, so we went out hunting for a high level female. Scoured the entire map and found only high level males... We returned to base to regroup and as our base came into view, I noticed a Rex walking around our perimeter. Spyglassed him and he was a level 150. Since we were rigged for taming, R and I decided to tame him. Knocked him out and he had the worst stats I've ever seen on a Rex. Killed him and made some more Megalosaurus kibble. Went out hunting for a high level Male Theri. Found one, picked him up and dropped him in the taming pen. Knocked him out and started taming. R accidentally hit him three times fighting off a pego that somehow glitched inside the walls. Killed him and returned to base. Was crafting up tranq darts when R ran inside screaming "There's a Giga in the base!!!" I climbed the ladder to the top of our workshop and hopped on Electra (Lightning Wyvern). Flew towards the Giga and laughed as I realized my brother T was returning from a meat run on Aralakh. He hopped off and we sat around the fire chatting for awhile. Decided to go kill death worms. Found two and killed both. Have enough horns now to tame a max level Mantis. T and I went hunting for a high level female Terror Bird again, while R went hunting for a high level Mantis. Both searches turned up empty and we met back at the base. On her way back, R spotted a Alpha Rex, so we all jumped on Wyverns and went to kill it. T on Dracarys (Fire Wyvern) R on Smaug (Poison Wyvern) and myself on Electra. Made short work of the Alpha Rex and returned to base. Showed T the green and yellow Giga in the highlands, he really likes her so he's decided to tame it tomorrow. Already named her Packers. It was getting late so we all logged shortly after returning from the Highlands.

What I was trying to get at was you can make this in 90% of all spots big enough for a small base with the use of cliff platforms. You will have no problem makng a 10x10 or 15x etc breeding pen. Theres atleast 5 different spots for big bases (multiple 10x+ buildings) along the fertile river biolume edge (the walking path side) Each side of the fertile to biolume waterfalls have nice big base locations with charge nodes and whatnot. Just walk around with 100 thatch foundations and throw down some. 15x15 squares to get an idea of how big the areas are Edit: the actual area i built the castle was right between both waterfalls, in a valley on the edge. The actual castle was on the cliff edge to biolume and I couldve built a base that size on the ground there as well but wanted a cliff base

Think I know where you are then. Hopefully, that would be great. ? I do know some parts of the map, like parts of the river network and the route down through blue and red to the drake trench, but the maps just so cavernous for me to get my head round it lol

Where about have you set up on Aberration ? I have no idea whos who or where on the map yet.

First of all --- once again welcome to ARK! where bloodbaths can occur in an instant. As you are no doubt learning, building an enclosed area to keep tames safe in usually a priority. It is tough grinding, but well worth it in the end. I personally just make a square/ring of dino gates. I don't even bother with fences anymore. BUt just my preference. Theriz are bad ass, and I normally avoid them, unless mounted on one of my toughest dinos. (Rex, allo pack, or Wyvern) Glad to hear you had luck with getting Dimorphs! They hatch and mature pretty quick, so be ready with food to feed the newborns. Plus the more imprints you can get on them, the tougher they will be. Regarding the turtle .... perhaps you can level up HP on it, and use it to tank for you, while taming sharks... or the carno. But make sure you level it up high. Otherwise taming is usually easier if you can lead a dino to a trap. one easy variation, is to build a box 4x4 with walls 2 high, and put ramps all around it. Use door ways for some of the lower walls, and install doors as well. Then when you see a dino you want, take a shot at it, get it to chase you up the ramps and into the box trap, then exit out the door and proceed to shoot it from safety until it is KO'd. of course make sure the dino is to big to go thru the doors, and too small to walk over the 2 high walls. I suggest NOT putting the trap next to your base, in case the angry dino doesn't fall in the trap and instead turns on your other dinos. But part of the fun of this game is trial and error... learning what procedures you prefer. Good luck!!

couldn't agree more. shame there is not a holiday option or something that stops the timer for 2 weeks or so. Would say most of the people with kids have holidays around the same time. makes it awkward. But it is only a game end of the day ???

What consitutes a "decent sized breeding area" to you? Theres a lot of flat open spots around and even a few not-so-common (up on cliffs in Fertile, Mushroom forest, cliffs of blue etc) If you are creative and use cliff platforms you can make almost any area flat and extend the cliff edges by placing them flush with the ground. Last Ab server I played was able to make a 40x30x30 castle ontop a cliff no larger than 5x4 by using 8 cliff platforms clipped close in another

First question. Yes. Seen a few tek stegos and a fair few tek raptors have mauled my face off. The tek dinos should be on all maps where their respective counter parts spawn. Second question I have built in the Fallen Nexus. On the South Eastern shore of the lake. Built in the exact same spot in my last play through with my tribe. Its a nice safe spot, usually... apart from a stray crab or two. Third queation. To be honest I havent a clue. Other people probably know more than I do, I only know a few areas of the map well. I guess it depends on how big you would like. Glad you enjoy the read. I like sharing my experiences and love to hear about others storys too. Wish there was more of it on the forums. Surprised anyone understands what I say half the time because I seem to post when I am uber tired and half asleep plus the phone doesnt help and I just word splurge... lol

Three questions and a statement. Are there Tek dinos on Aberration? Where are you built on Aberration? I am a big time breeder, so usually my first concern is figuring out where I set up my breeding area. Do you know of any decent sized areas on Aberration that would allow me to build a decent size breeding barn? I have to say, since I returned to reading the forums and playing Ark, I have really enjoyed reading what you do.

Got home last night from my business trip and crashed. Woke up this morning and ran some errands. Now, it's time to dust off my Xbox and play some Ark! I'm off until Tuesday, so the wife and I should be able to get some quality play time in. Except Saturday, College Football kicks off Saturday, so I'll be occupied with gameday festivities every Saturday until the season ends.

PS4 - Private Nitrado server - Ragnarok Haven't been on for a few days, so I jumped on and first made sure everyone was fed, while doing the meat run, I came across a amazing looking event 100+ Tek Stego, and to no one's surprise, took it back to tame. Checked in on the breeding pens for my ravagers, and got a new burnt orange body color mutation, and then bred a couple of my color ravs together ... got a Cyan body with a Purple spine, with a blue spine, and with a yellow spine. Also have neon green with variety of spine colors. Really hoping to get a yellow, pink, black, or albino body mutation soon. Saw a 135 & 145 Rex pair running near the lava area, and the 135 is an event Red and White male.... might tame him later, the 145 is white female, but I already have one of those. I saw a couple event colored 135 + Allos, so might be taming those up soon too. However I think my next plan of attack, is to transfer many of the Tek Stegos and event colored dinos to my SP game, so I don't need to worry about then starving this fall, when I take some vacation time to hit the woods for bow season.

Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Aberration Aberration Day One. Been looking forward to the season server on the cluster rotating to Aberration. Realy have missed Aberration and I am glad to get back on the map. Needless to say I died alot. Mostly trying to find and get to a loot drop to access the stuff I had tried to transfer from Ragnarok but to my disgust it turns out all the loot crates need to be level 35 to be accessible. Oh well not to worry, means I get to enjoy early game aberration for much longer. The main goal of this play through will be to get stuff like rock drakes and reapers for the main Ragnarok server. Would love to get breeding pairs of all the light pets too. Ultimate goal would be to take on Rockwell but we shall see how it goes. So I started to progress. Got a small starter shack down where I plan to build my main base. Going to build where I built on my last play through on Aberration, its reasonably 'safe' with good access to river rocks for early game metal and a gas vein nearby for when I can get a gas collector down. Died alot trying to make sure the place was reasonably safe from aggressive dinos, but eventually managed it by kiting the larger stuff to territorial herbys and just arrowing the smaller stuff to death. Got a forge together and enough metal to craft up metal tools. Then spammed wooden foundations to level up quickly and to map out where the main structure wil go. Got to about level 31 before logging of for the night.

Had a goal last night, grind for my grinder (hah) Before I started I wanted to flesh out an expansion to my base, an area to house the grinder and future Tek Replicator and whatnot. I have an area beside my main building that I extended via cliff platforms, demolished those and made two metal cliff platforms for the future crafting room base. Snapped a side room ontop and just placed a few walls and foundations for now, snapped electricity all throughout then went off on a big metal / material run. Started off getting a few thousand paste from dams, then back to get my ankys and quetz for a giant metal run. Hit up the whole canyon for metal, ice cave, volcano for crystal and obsidian cave for .. obsidian. Got back with over 6k worth of ingots and made 1400 polymer. My tribemate and I figured we needed a desert outpost for easier crystal, access to the desert and whatnot. Took my wyvern t the desert crystal cave, real neat if you havent been there. Then we scouted out a spot and I went back to make my Grinder. As soon as that was placed, with some storage vaults, ground up a few thousand wood to level up a few tames. I also gathered everything for A Tek Replicator. This weekend maybe if @DJRone89 is up to it I can convert some of my element shards to element in his replicator? Plan to make most of the useful Tek this weekend in preperation for Aberration and general badassery

The Island My Coworker had no time this week. So i feed the Dinos and build a 2nd floor on the Mini Cabin from 4 x 2. Crafted some Pillars and placed them towards the country. The first 30 Meter i could only place them on the 4 walls apart, there are to many pillars at the beach. But after the 30 Meters i could expanse in both Directions. So we will be able to make a nice base. In the House we have now 2 female Dodos and 1 male. I tamed more Dilos. Now there are 2 female and 1 male. I hope i can tame here 20 Dilos. I want a good Dilo Egg farm to tame much Aberration Ankylos. Aberration Found at the Weekend a Red White Level 85 Basilisk. I tried the taming with 4 Stone Gates again. This time i knew i had to wait 3,30 Minutes for each Rock Drake Egg to be eaten. He ate 4 Eggs and was tamed. Boring to wait but one of the easiest tames if u sit on a Rock Drake and let the eggs drop next to the Basilisk. The few bites u get from the Basilisk dont knock the Drake out. Then i tamed 2 x Level 85 Crabs (will use them on other Servers as Transporters). And tamed a Level 130 Crab. The 14 female Carbonemys drop enough Eggs at the week so i can tame every Weekend more Crabs. Must be 19 Crabs at the Moment. I think i have a taming problem again. Tamed 2 Lystro cause they are red. From my favorite Tribe i traded a normal Ankylo, still no one has Aberration Variants. But the Ankylo has about 400 Melee, much higher then my 250 Melee Aberration Variants. Until i get good Aberration Variants i will breed him so i can use them on every Server. Cause i think i will play in Future a little bit more on the Island. Dilo Farm and maybe Fighting some Bosses. I want for my Aberration Char the Tek Troughs.
