  1. Hey Survivors! Welcome to the latest edition of the Community Crunch! The Community Crunch is where we share important things going on with ARK, as well as host contests and showcase creations made by the community! TLC #2 Preview - Parasaurolphous! Everyone's favourite early tame, the Parasaur, won't be receiving a visual update but will be receiving some handy ability upgrades to make it more useful for beginner survivors in TLC #2. The Parasaur has found its voice in the form of a loud vocalization capable of notifying the player of surrounding danger and is even able to scare away smaller creatures when doing so. The call can be separated into the same categories as other creatures with a type of "turret mode" as well as the call can be done on command by the player, just like a roar. Have issues with annoying Pegomastax or Ichthyornis stealing from you constantly while you're just trying to stroll down the beach? Got a Raptor pack hot on your heels? Have a Parasaur tag along with you and when of these pesky critters gets too close, your Parasaur will keep them at bay. While riding your Parasaur, the Parasaur can send out a kind of echolocation that gives the player notice of where enemy players, tames, and wild dangers are around them, even when they are out of line-of-sight. In combination these abilities make the Parasaur a very strong ally during those early days on the beach and ongoing. They are able to alert survivors when someone is trying to sneak into their base by acting like a living tripwire alarm! On top of these new abilities the Parasaur will also have increased base carry weight which will allow it to carry even more of your belongings as you explore the Island and try to find your way around the ARK, and the ability to attack while running which it previously was not able to do. Here are some other in-game images of what you can expect next week! What's Coming Next? Now that we've shared the changes to the Parasaur that wraps up what is coming in TLC #2. The patch includes the Sarco, Spino, Argent, Raptor, Trike, and Parasaur, and is looking on schedule to go out early next week with a console release planned for mid-April. We will keep console players updated about more accurate release dates as we get closer to submitting patches. Going forward, Wildcard is will be consolidating our patching process on PC. We will be leaning heavily on regular Tuesday (or Wednesday if needed) deployments unless critical fixes require patches outside of that regular patch day. These will become collective weekly bug patching updates rather than separate updates for each bug fix that in the past resulted in multiple patches a week. After TLC #2 is released we will also be turning our focus more directly on to bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements in the weeks ahead. There are some issues that have been brought to the attention of the team by an artistic movement created to highlight the issues that affect players negatively the most. In tandem with development on TLC #2 these issues have been documented for future analysis, and after TLC #2 is released we will begin investigating and addressing these issues as one of our main focuses. 3. It's quite dark compared to other Marvel projects. It's a harrowing story that just happens to involve super powered individuals. As long as you can accept that these powers could exist I think you'd enjoy just for the story itself.

  4. Impromptu boss fight last night. I get home and my alliance members ask if i want to run one. I check my raises troughs and I love when dino's go adolescent. Only one trough (they are tek troughs) is empty despite 4 Quetzal's and a Yuty raising. That means i don't need to go on a meat run since I still have back up meat in the fridges. I tell them yeah I'll run. I ask if someone else can run a Yuty tonight as I want to introduce a Theri or two into the fight. one Theri was ready. 21k hp, 700+ melee but the other Theri was at 21k hp with 691 melee. I ran it around the preserve a little but didn't get enough xp for another level. I did run a Rex around that was on the brink and got him a level to get him to 700+ melee. So I sat the Cyan 414 melee lady out of this fight and brought in the Theri and the new Rex. No losses in the fight, but quite a few dino's beat up. Tank Rex's are definitely going to be needed for Alpha. No way these Rex's can fight those Golem's and survive. The rag fight takes a certain skill set the other fights lack so i do appreciate them. Dragon did get my Theri down to about 1/2 hp when i was right underneath it but I was able to back out, force feed it one cake and then pop back in and got the kill. So much more maneuverability on a Theri. i did get blasted by a dimorph once, all the rex's were on passive at the time so a quick neutral whistle ended that but then you need to remember to whistle passive again once the Golem's pop up else they will go after them and that's how they get stuck and beat up on them. It's a back and forth with that because you're whistling attack target when the mantiocre lands then backing out and patrolling the edge of the arena waiting for the manticore to land again. Riding a Theri's biggest draw back i can see is more likely to get hit by Dimorph's (may need to up my armor. I run high end Ghillie right now but maybe some of my riot gear with a calien soup is a better idea. i'll test it in a fight) and i don't feel particularly safe jumping off to shoot the manticore between his devestating torpor attack, a griffin hitting me, or an errant rock throw. On the back of the rex, i feel since you stand on his back it probably suits you better to being able to remount. One of my rex's also got the manticore kill in this fight. 65 more element for the vault. I'll probably start making my own tek behemoth's soon to add to the flyer barn if we keep doing a few boss runs each week. Then down the road i think I may build an underwater base using the Vacuum compartments. After the fight I did a quick meat run just to top off the one trough that was empty. I loaded up some items for my island server including the Rex BP. I need to farm hide on that side. I loaded up some hide on Rag and that was a pain. Only enough slots for one saddle at a time. I also loaded up 3 more Rex's to take there. I think I'll take 15 total Rex's over there. I don't plan on running more than Beta monkey fight at most. That's good element and my Rex's have the stats and saddle to be able to handle that. I ended up calling it a bit of an early night (I am a marvel diehard and am trying to finish the new season of Jessica Jones which is my favorite Netflix series. Action goes to Daredevil, Brutality to Punisher, but Jessica Jones is by far the best storyline). I logged this morning mated the Yuty's (been slacking on mating and stockpiling eggs while raising and running fights), imprinted the Theri's which will finish up this morning (93%, suitable) and quetzal's, ran the desert drops (only 2 and only stuff for the grinder) then hopped to my island server to place a fert Anky egg in the fridge for my buddy over there. i forgot I left it in the argy last night so didn't want it spoiling (wasn't sure on spoilage time). Tonight I think 2x will be going when I get off work so meat grind, Argy mating, Argy hunting will be on the docket. I think I'll pop all the Argy eggs I have tomorrow after work and see if I get the final stat combination. If I do and it's a female it'll give me a chance, by hatching them tomorrow, to hatch the next set when she finishes up before I go back to work and try to get an all stat male to breed. Then again, maybe they want to run another boss fight and I'm not going to say no to that. lol

  5. So jealous! What a beautiful wyvern, and your first at that! I hatched out about two dozen lower level Wyvern eggs this weekend, looking for colors I like. (I already have high levels of each type) So I popped a virtually all-white Ice Wyvern like yours, a bright blue and white Ice Wyvern, as well as a beautiful Poison wyvern, that had bright Green trim with white wings. So I was busy raising them, and trying to get all the imprints since they were lower level eggs, to make them at least a bit useful. I was in the 50-60% matured area with all of them, when my tv screen flickered, then did it again, then finally all was quiet. I'd lost all power in my house! Seems about 50% of my town lost power. (Mind you it is winter and about 10 F degrees outside) Well minutes turned to hours, and finally, about 5 hours later, we get power back. I turn on the PS4, and after going thru the screens telling me that the PS4 was turned off incorrectly (duh!) I finally enter the game, but as soon as I do, the game crashes! I shutdown, and re-start the game. finally I'm back in and I am frustrated and bewildered to see that all three of the Wyverns I was raising are now back at around 30% mature... but the frustrating part is that they are now all TOTALLY different colored, and look exactly like the full grown Wyverns I already have. Gone is the nearly white "Snow Storm", the Blue and White " Hypothermia" and the bright green and white "Toxic". Replaced by boring colored version of themselves. Not wanting duplicates of what I already have, I followed the suggestion of @yekrucifixion187 and used one of my adult wyverns to kill them off and gain the XP. Pretty bummed by that issue, and not sure why they changed color, but can only assume something was corrupted when I lost power. A bit later, I hatched about a dozen more low level wyvern eggs, and getting no good colors; I started killing them off. I was just about to kill one with my pike, when at the last second, I see it is a level 155! How did that get mixed in with the low level? Oh well, I'm not going to waste a 155 level, and even though I already have an adult 155 level Ice Wyvern "Celtic Frost". I decided to raise this one as well for back up. I was doing well imprinting it, towards 100%, when I when out on a meat run. I had my cell phone timer on, so I could get back for the imprinting. But while collecting meat in the redwoods, my timer went off, telling me I had 30 seconds to get back to imprint. Off course at that very second, a damn microraptor knocked me off my wyvern and my Wyvern took to the air to attack them. By the time I could move, my wyvern had moved off and was hovering off in the distance and would not come back even when called thru a spyglass. So I used the luxury of PS4 Single player, and I "Flew" up to grab my Wyvern. I flew as fast as I could back to the base. I get there, and the baby was already looking for imprint, and of course wanted to walk with me. Well just like my last wyvern this one takes about 1 minute of walking to finally trigger the imprint. But by now we are at 98% mature, and only 91% imprinted. Oh well, I guess me and 100% imprinted Wyverns is never going to happen. I then spent the rest of the weekend building up my main base located near the center of the Ragnorok map on the big butte near the bridge. I must have spent 18 hours this weekend grinding and building this new base, and it turned out pretty dang good. (Wish I had S+ on PS4). My final task over the weekend was beginning the migration of the majority of my tames from my first base in Viking Bay, over to this new center map base. Step one was a 10 dino train of 4 Rexes, Trike, Piggy and 4 Allosaurus. It took some doing and we had a few set backs, but the Dino Conga Line finally made its way up an over the oil node mountain, across the bridge and to the new center of the map base. I think I will call it "Base Big Butte". Cuz I like big buttes and I cannot lie! Finally about 11pm last night, I filled up the food bins and called it a night.

  6. I put an outpost at the Devourer Artifact on Ragnarok. 72 pillars to the bottom of the sea. The support pillars around it aren't supporting. So I'm going to make another one but this time put the pillar in the middle of a stone foundation with surrounded by other connected foundation. Hopefully that will give me the support needed to expand the top 72 floors up.
