Patently false. They've just recently shown redesigned supply drops, for one example. Not sure why you cling to this narrative that everything is going to be 100% the same and WC aren't bothering to make any real improvements.

Dont hold the Mae's sky and land prowess against it. Its faster then any wild creature in the ocean too.

I also see that no one has mentioned the Diplocaulus AKA the living scuba suit. Super easy to swoop down and pick one with an argy so you can carry it to a safe place to tame. Then you never have to worry about scuba again. Taming on foot is possible but they spawn in swamps so theyre prone to getting massacred by gators and such. When pumped with oxygen its a one stop shop. You could go on underwater cave runs literally naked with these things. Not even a saddle required. Add some speed and you have one of, if not THE fastest swimmer in the game. Not kidding these things dip, as the name suggests. When I had my underwater tek base on the center official pvp they were my go to transport in and out ( before Fjordhawks).

Fair enough. Im sure WC can afford to keep a handful of servers open for Ark 1 on old gen but from a business standpoint that doesnt help to push people onto the new game.

Maybe you were undisciplined with the sheer amount of tames you gathered. Maybe they had enough of your army of 50 dodos that they told you to downsize because its lagging up the base. Sounds like a tame intervention to me

While I somewhat agree, you cant play ps4 forever. It's outdated. Ark has run on the old consoles for 5 plus years already. If anything this upgrade is overdue. The way they've handled the ASA upgrade is clearly a cash grab for Snails pockets, but the upgrade itself is warranted especially with how much of a departure from the established formula Ark 2 is shaping up to be.

If you've been eyeing a new console anyway, I cant recommend the ps5 enough. It's a big jump from ps4, even when playing ps4 games (Dayz is a great example). I could never go back to ps4 now. Cant wait til all these Ue5 games that have been in development over the last couple years start finally dropping.

Sorry to my ps4 bros but it's about time. Ps5 is what, 2 years old at this point? Time to start pushing gaming forward and that simply cant happen on woefully outdated hardware.

Breeding is tough when trying to keep your footprint small. I use a sky quetz for breeding.

Yeah whenever I go to watch a YT vid of Ark and see that the guy is playing in potato mode I immediately shut the vid off. It's so cheap.

Determination. Nice. It's really hard to hide indefinitely but not impossible. I think I've finally found a permanent spot but it took literally years and countless wipes. One thing you can do is hide a base long enough to at least scrape some good gear and animals together, then stash some away for a rainy day so when the inevitable raid comes you arent starting from scratch. My go-to stash is preserving bins in bushes underwater that are not right off shore but are easy enough to swim to naked. No one has ever found my underwater stashes and I've been doing them for the last 3 or 4 map releases. Actually that probably wouldnt work on the cancerfest that is Ark on PC due to the aforementioned ini files. Oh well.

My server, 209, has been down since yesterday. I'm now missing the 2nd day of a 7 day event. I know there are many many more servers like mine. Surely there will be an extension to compensate those who cant play, right ?

Lately the lag has been really bad. Wasnt like this on launch, but over the last few days the game has been just about unplayable. Bounced around a few servers today just trying to find something stable enough to play the Survive the Ark mission to no avail. DDos, duping, or just bad server performance on the games end ? Maybe all three at once ? I don't know exactly what the cause is but I know what the result has been - me shutting off the game within 20-30 mins of turning it on. Not exactly what you want to see in the 2nd week of the delayed DLCs launch.

Build in metal. First thing I did was convert my crappy little temp shack to metal and hide what little valuables I was able to amass yesterday in a bush box because I'm sure even w a semi hidden metal house I probably still got raided overnight.

Dont think you can chastise people for having no patience when we've all been waiting since DECEMBER for this dlc. They tweeted just last night that everything was on track for release today. Bit of a joke really after delaying it a week at the last minute already. They're just supremely unorganized and it borders on being unprofessional when it occurs over and over and over again. People have every right to be aggravated and short on patience.

Fact is they shouldn't be running into major game breaking bugs when they've already had an extra 5 months of development time to work on Gen 2 on top of the 4 months they initially had since CI released in Aug of last year. You'd think the last few weeks before release on May 26th would be spent putting the icing on the cake, but it seems to me the cake is still being baked even this late into the release window. It indicates to me that Gen 2 probably still isnt in a polished well running state, but the clock has run out so its basically force the thing out the door for better or worse time. I really hope I'm wrong and I'll gladly eat my hat if Gen 2 is smooth and stable come Jun 2nd.

The mana ban is one of the few bright spots about gen 1. Would make me so happy if they extended it to gen 2.

Sadly doesnt look like we're getting much underwater content in gen 2 especially with an entire biome dedicated to it in gen 1.

A water/air mount would be absolutely flipping amazing. UFOs can do it so why not space whales ?
