Is it just me or do they always mess up after a x3 event and put it back to the original x1 rates? It seems all this week I have had 8 wood from a tree, that seems real low, like it's supposed to be x2 from release rates but a year ago we wasn't getting 4 wood from a tree. I think that's why it seems like a grind on x1 after an event because they mess it up and put it back too x1 original not the current x1

It's just you.

They can't mess it up. I don't understand how difficult it is for people to understand.

The setting they change is this: HarvestAmountMultiplier=1.0

When they do an event they change it to 2.0, or 3.0 depending on what they are giving. At the end of the event they change it back to 1.0.

There is no way they can change it back to the original 1x rates unless they change the value of 1.0 which they don't because all they do is increase/decrease the value of HarvestAmountMultiplier=.

LOL yeah probably right,

But in my head they have harvestamountmultiplier =2.0 for standard rates since it was doubled and when an event happens they put it too 4.0 or 6.0 for x2 or x3 and then after the event some noob puts it back too 1.0 which is the original rate from when ark started.

Probably not true but it sure as hell feels like it sometimes.

It can be confusing, but yeah when they doubled the rates permanently they basically changed the value of 1.0 which is the best way to make the change to the base game. People just need to understand that 1.0 =/= original 1x.

If we didnt have solo players like me who else would mega tribe players like you have to pick on besides the beginner tribes

If the game implemented the changes I mentioned earlier I would be all my saving Ive made in full time work that the games population would double, only a game like ark with such a great concept could survive all the duping, bugs etc that have plagued it since day 1.

Lots of wrong here.

A) i don't play PvP. One of the multitude of reason's I don't play is because despite how much time I put into this game I understand I wouldn't probably be able to dedicate the time needed to PvP successfully. It's called knowing you and then working within in that.

B) My enormous megatribe recruited it's 3rd member 2 days ago. A guy who mostly plays abberation so is going to be primarily a crafting character. So lets break down my tribe size since i began playing Ark in March. the number is members. 2,3,2,4,5,3,2,1,2,3,2,3. That spike at 5, woo.

C) My current tribe mate and I both work full time jobs though I have an altered schedule of 12 hour shifts back end of the week. He works 8 to 12 hour shifts during the regular work week.

D) I've been with my current tribe member since June. In that time using the regular rates plus the bonus events plus working our full time jobs we have raised and imprinted 100% 4 Giga's, raised probably upward of 500 Rex's with most receiving 80 to 100 percent imprint, raised at least 20 Yuty's, 30 Theri's, and 100 Quetzal's that all received 70 to 100 percent imprint. 95 percent of them before the 8 hour imprints. What about the 70 percent imprinted ones? We made the conscious and adult decision not to sacrifice sleep. It's a decision that can be made.

In conclusion;

The rules of official are the rules of official. Just because they don't suit you does not mean they are wrong. It means they are wrong for you. Thousand's of other players function very well within the current rule set in all game modes. They either spend an abnormal amount of time, their choice and right, become part of a tribe, the way the game was designed, or make do with what they can and don't expect to be a mega power despite not being able to devote the time and resources a mega power does.

Ark is not a socialist experiment. There should not be equal footing. It is a survival game. It is based for you to conquer and dominate and that is mostly done through numbers and time.

If you can't accept that then official rules are not for you. i have never seen another game have so many people cry out for changes to the rule set. See how silly this ounds:

"Hey can you make Mario jump higher because some times I mistime my jump and the turtle hits me?"

"Hey can you make people spin slower? I keep getting 360 quick scoped."

"There's too many zombies in one area when I get past round 50.They kill me every time. Reduce it!"

Those game makers would not change that and despite certain tweaks they deem necessary (like 8 hour imprint timers) the base rates and game of Ark is very manageable for a large portion of the player base.

I’ve felt the same. Probably not a rate issue, but small tweaks to dino gather efficiency. I’ve notice my delicate theri collecting less silk over the last couple months, even without an event. Not seen anything in the patch notes though.

I dont see any personal difference between pve and modded servers.

Ofcourse you would not have a problem making sacrifices to your outside of ark life when you know most likely these investments wont be lost, and that the time is  a safe investment into something you love.

As someone who works full time like yourself, i dont see normal rates on pvp as a risky investment im happy to make, while on 2x I do, thats just how it is for me and what keeps me in the game. Everybody is different

and people have the right to complain however much they want if like me, they invested into the game before full release, we are the ones who invested into this business, and people who invest in a business have a right to be heard

especially now that there are issues still going on after official release which they said would no longer happen, duping.

and to combat dupers they put a timer on xfering that forces people to literally leave their well deserved items in the ob for some other fellow to pickup.

Ive also seen people blatantly duping on my server and when we messaged the bloke he even laughed and admitted to it

like i said before the concept of the game keeps the game alive not how theyve responded to the bugs, just my opinion, maybe these things are impossible to fix so i do sympathize

I agree with most of the comments here, PvP is way hard as a solo player. I have limited time to play (full time job) and 1x rates are too much of a grind (that why I play PVE.  Also the dino nerf that happened was a huge hit to take as a solo player (thanks to the mega tribes that server wiped everybody and thus led to tons of complaints that the dinos were OP). Off topic I know.  I think WC needs to do a better job at posting when events will happen, they are good at telling us when they did happen, but who cares about that.  Anyone know when the next breeding event will be? WC??

one thing to think about, all those big tribes you guys like to complain about probably have fridges full of fert eggs ready to hatch the moment we get a breeding event

so get taming an army of lystros and dodos for when your server hits dino cap

but what really bugs me about events is every time we have one it's guaranteed that we'll get the message that the server is going down in 15 minutes, usually while i'm taming something

why can't they do that mid week?
