This is an award given to Survivors to celebrate the amazing structures you build. These bases are judge based upon a number of different factors such as their creativity, uniqueness, how fun of a base it is, the difficulty of building it, the functionality it provides and much more!

The ARKitect for Community Crunch 34 is..

Dinodiner by Sie

Looks like a great place to grab some grub! Congratulations Sie :)!

We'd also like to give a special shout-out to the following Survivors as they are the runners up for this week!

Valoule’s Kame House

You can check the full album out here: http://imgur.com/a/IF3Jn

FataL1ty’s Millennium Falcon!

Mortuari’s Inca Pyramid!

DNrexned’s Daed-ARK-lus

[FeC] Westmin's DodoRex Monument

This is an award given to survivors who have created beautiful work of art for that week! As always, the artwork is not being judged on the quality of the screenshot or the graphical settings used, but instead what you have managed to draw and produce in game.

The ARKArtist for Community Crunch 34 is…

It’s a tie!

Gotta give Sie another round of applause for their Dinodiner’s artwork!

And a shout-out to Okim too for his Jousting Pachys!

We'd also like to give a special shout-out to the following Survivors as they are the runners up for this week!

±’s Dino Forest

Thank you for all the entries this week guys! Congratulations to all our winners and if you’d like to take a look at what all the survivors submitted, you can do so here:

Workshop Spotlight!

Extra ARK!

Can you introduce yourself to the community, and let us know about what it is that you are currently working on?

Hey guys! I'm Oblexive and I'm the creator of Extra ARK. I'm 22, live in Australia and when I'm not working on Extra ARK or playing with my super cute floppy eared bunny, Bambi, I run my own cabling business. I'm also studying various IT courses on the side in hopes to change my career within the next few years. I've always loved modding and game making and once I started on ARK I couldn't stop. There were a few versions of Extra ARK before I decided to release it to the public, which I must add I never intended. I just figured others may enjoy what I had to share. Extra ARK takes all my focus and I'm not currently working on any other projects.

What types of things do you have planned in terms of Extra ARKs core-features?

Extra ARK at the core is a mod that adds additional structures. I've always intended to add to ARK what I felt it lacked when you are building a base. I want people to be able to have an idea of how their base will look and be able to bring that idea to life. Be it convenient storage or a massive hatch in your roof for your Quetz!

What was your favourite and most difficult piece to add to the mod?

The hardest addition is a toss up between a few things. When I began I started adding things I knew I could do easily but I got to a point where I wanted to push myself and learn what I could really do with the Dev Kit. I began working on the Stone Battlement which taught me alot. I enjoyed learning and so I pushed to see what more I could do. It's not that the Stone Battlement was complex I just didn't have the knowledge but once I got that down packed I began to apply that to new structures and ended up creating the Double Doors, Trapdoors and Hatches. I think I have spent more time on perfecting the doors than anything.

As you've added quite a few extra structure pieces to the game, is game balance something you consider and if so - how do you figure out the direction to take, or are you aiming for this mod to appeal to more creative players?

I do take balance into consideration, especially if the community mentions something as I want Extra ARK to feel as though you are not using a mod.

Tell us more about your experience with modding. How are you finding the process so far? How are you finding working with the ARK Dev kit?

Although I had no prior knowledge of the Unreal Engine or the ARK Dev Kit, I found it fairly straightforward and easy to wrap my head around. I'm enjoying the process and it will be really interesting to see how the Dev Kit changes over time.

What is your creative process like when adding an extra item? Do you look for ideas from the community or has this just come from playing the game and being inspired through your experience?

Everything I added to Extra ARK has come from playing ARK and not being able to accomplish what I want. My Dad who is also a massive ARK fan doesn't know how to mod so we would quite often talk about our ideas and what we felt ARK lacked until I decided to stop talking about it and actually do something about it. My Dad has been a massive help to my creative process and if the community ever has anything they'd like to see added to the mod I am always keen to hear their thoughts.

What has the feedback and response been like from the community so far?

As far as I've seen, feedback has been good. Obviously when I make a critical mistake like remove everyone's storage containers people are going to get a little upset which hey, I did too. Honestly though I am overwhelmed with the positive feedback of the community and how much everyone is enjoying the mod. I never expected so many people to use the mod let alone like it.

What are the long-term goals for the mod? Are you planning to continuously update it and do you have any upcoming features planned?

I will be working on this mod for the foreseeable future. I am really enjoying it all and if people enjoy what I make then that's just even more motivation. I can't see myself abandoning this mod unless I totally lost inspiration and motivation but I can't see any sign of that. I probably work on Extra ARK more now than ever. I do have a few more structures coming in the next update.

Do you have any tips for upcoming modders on what they can do when working with UE4 and ARK itself?

All I can suggest is that if you were like me and didn't have much of an idea about the way the Dev Kit works then head over to the Modding forums and just read everything. Work your way through the tutorials sections, watch the UE4 videos on Youtube and you'll be making mods in no time.

Is there anything you’d like to end with before wrapping this up?

I just want to say thank you so much for this opportunity and to everyone that has been using my mod and the guys over on the modding forums, I love you all! It's an amazing feeling and great motivation to continue to do what I do knowing people love what I make. Now I just need to figure out a way to make this my job ;)

Thanks a lot Oblexive! Hope to see some Extra ARK Crunch entries next week!

Valoule didn't link his album in the entries thread which is linked below all the submissions, so I provided a direct-link to that - the rest of the submissions can be seen in the entries thread, including albums provided by you guys :).
