    We’d like to start off by giving a huge thanks to all of you who participated in ARK’s first ever Twitch Con! Whether you attended the show, tuned into our streams, or took part on social media, we are grateful for all the support and engagement!

    For those of you who didn’t have a chance to catch us at the show, or watch the streams, worry not! We’ll be using this post to recap the news that went out, as well as sharing some of our favourite moments from the show, as well as details to where you can watch all the livestreams.

    Tradeshows are always special occasions for us, as we always want to take the chance to show off something different for our fans, and this was no different. At this event, we were able to present the first ever glimpse of our upcoming expansion pack, ARK: Aberration. 

    For those not familiar with ARK: Aberration; survivors will find themselves waking up on a derelict, malfunctioning ARK with an elaborate underground biome system, where they will face exotic new challenges unlike anything before: extreme radioactive sunlight and environmental hazards, ziplines, wingsuits, climbing gear, cave dwellings, charge-batteries, and far more, along with a stable of extraordinary new creatures await within the mysterious depths. But beware the ‘Nameless’: unrelenting, Element-infused humanoids which have evolved into vicious light-hating monstrosities! You’ll uncover the ultimate secrets of the ARKs, and discover what the future holds in store for those strong and clever enough to survive!

    Over the course of the weekend, we had many of you come to the booth and check out our demo, as well as having the demo-experience being streamed by your favorite influencers.

    During the event, we also had some very important news to announce, starting with the most important piece of information, ARK: Aberration will not be launching in October 2017. The expansion pack has been delayed by some weeks due to some necessary development work needing to be done. It will be coming out this year, with more features thanks to feedback we've received from our demo.

    Aberration is our best piece of work yet, there will be a ton of new content, features, creatures, and a vast explorable map for you to enjoy. We know waiting sucks, but it won’t be for long, and we’ll be sure to do it justice by providing you with a high quality expansion pack.

    In addition to that, we’ll also be releasing new skins for our season pass holders. They will shortly be making their way to PC, PS4 and soon thereafter on Xbox. You can check out the new cosmetic goodies here:

    The Reaper Helmet, depicting the frightening visage of these dangerous behemoths that roam the Element-infused depths and irradiated surface of Aberration, and the Bulbdog Mask, representing the cheery demeanor of this loyal ward against the Nameless.

    Structures Plus Official Integration!

    We were also very excited to announce the Official Integration of the Sponsored Mod, Structures Plus (S+)! A long time favourite of the ARK player base and known as the ultimate building mod, S+ adds a range of functionality to ARK’s building, through the use of new structures, changes to core building/structure systems, additional features and more.

    We’ll be working with the creator, Orionsun, and begin carefully integrating his mod into the game. Right now we’re still in the conceptualising phase, deciding which features we’ll be bringing over, which will be locked into custom settings, how we’ll be implementing it, and there are important factors we’ll need to consider regarding the mod and it’s impact on the balance of the game etc. It is a very large and in-depth mod, and we want to ensure that we get it right. 

    Collector's Edition

    The Collector's Edition of ARK: Survival Evolved is now available for purchase without the game or seasons pass included, for those who already own the game. Thanks for your patience on this, and we're excited to finally get those items out to you guys:

    Xbox Rentable Servers Update

    Xbox Rentable Servers may not be launching later this month as originally planned. The update which allows players to connect to these servers is currently being held in Microsoft certification. They have noticed an issue which has so far only occurred at their offices, and due to regulations, remote debugging is not possible. In order to address this we are flying out our engineers today to work with them on the issue directly. Unfortunately, this is going to hold up the final build for a little while as we work out the problem with them, and it will then have to re-enter the certification process. We expect that the update will be available in early November, and we will do our best to speed up the process as much as we are able to.

    Am I the only one that thought the gliding suit would look more realistic rather then steampunkish? Still props to the idea but not big on the skin of it.

    Then I don't know what sessions are that you are referring to. I only know of those linked above.

    Really sad it got delayed as I was looking forward to getting it this month (as I am sure a ton where) but I really hope its more amazing because of the delay in the end.

     

    Gah wish I had that kind of extra money for the collector addition, I want it so bad lol. Ah well.

    I really hope this time you guys will release enough servers so people get a chance to play and have some space. Cause the amount of pve ragnarok server we had was ridiculous, and some asian servers so they get a spot where to play  as well and it does not become "player vs pillars"

    People need to stop overreacting about the servers i mean whats so important about it, the way i see it, is that servers are a place where jerks and trolls hang out to ruin people's day. P.s love aberration cant wait for it, I understand delaying it we dont want a bunch of bugs and glitches in a DLC that people payed money for.

    I’m happy you guys wrote a paragraph about the delayed Xbox Nitrado servers but your could have at least made it known, not the excuse of “It’s in our news article” when confronted about it.

    If it weren’t for Nitrado personally emailing me about it, I would have never have thought to look.

    You guys put out tweets all the time about less important stuff but some how neglect to mention something that will affect a lot of people.

    Edit: The news article should be better titled.

    The way you see it is simply one way of looking at it. The reason many people want servers is because we want to host our own, with friends. One of the (many) benefits of this is it'll be away from the trolls (and lag, tame caps etc) of official servers.

    Many of us aren't even playing the game now, we're just waiting for the servers to become available.

    Given that the Nitrado ones are delayed, I don't even want to think about what impact this will have on the Play Anywhere version :(

    Common Wildcard. You are Officially released Now. At least Once can you keep to your Word. At this point your coming across as compulsive Liers. You say it's coming out this year now. I'm going to bet we won't see it until January 2018 at the earliest. Sigh.

    Aberration looks gorgeous as well, you guys outdid yourselves on the awesome biomes! I hope we can bring aberrant variations to,the island!

    It has nothing to do with 12 year olds whining over an ETA. It has to do with they missed pretty much EVERY date they ever set (including the release for the game itself) and wait till last minute to throw in a little paragraph where not many people read. Didnt even take to twitter when they know lots of people prepared for the 25th.

    Are you referring to the official servers or the Rented ones?

    Exactly. I stopped playing months ago until the xbox rented ones are here. But as i saw in another thread, if they dont get here soon before the other major games get released (new COD, PUBG, etc..) wildcard will lose tons of players.

    They tried to hide it but knew they had to say something. They made a little update in a spot where barely anyone would check. I also found out from nitrado and also found the paragraph about it in that article FROM NITRADO. There was no reason not a single employee could send out a tweet. Its disgusting.

    on pc and ps4 yes. Not on xbox, this is what everyone is mad about. Well you could host a dedicated server but you need 2 xboxs they run like crap and crash and rollback 24/7. And if you have 10+ players or if a single person tames a bronto its unplayable.

    And yes official servers are full of mega tribes, trolls, and alpha tribes who are dictators. This is why rented servers are wanted so bad

    I think everyone is willing to wait for a quality product to be released HOWEVER what we are sick of enduring is the repeatedly missed dates. You have missed every release date you have set for yourselves since July of this year. You even gave a very ambiguous 31 day windows saying Abberration would come out in October. Now you're saying yet this year?

    Who on your staff is coming up with your release timeframes and why haven't they been fired yet for being consistently off by 2-3 months!?

    please, please please stop setting unrealistic timetables all you do is piss off your fan base when you fail to meet the dates you give us.

    When Jen said a " surprise was coming that begins with A and ends in an N" i was praying for "ATTENTION" to the maps that already exist. Maybe be less interested flying around to events that will be just another showcase of broken promises and more interested in ACTUALLY delivering said content ON TIME FOR ONCE.

    they shouldn't announce any new DLC or updates UNTIL its passed CERT.

    WC reminds me of Heihei, that cokerel in Moana. Unable to remember mistakes and keeps on swallowing that stone or walking into the side of the raft not learning from the first time round
