  1. They improved (not fixed, but improved) the lag from egg farms by streamlining the kibble tree, not with cryopods.
  2. Not really, tame caps were their proposed solution to lag from dinos. Cryopods were more of a quality-of-life addition to the game. Where do you get that idea? The game will still be played on computer servers with limited power and resources. UE5 isn't some sort of sorcery that magically fixes problems caused by computers existing in the real world. Not really to this also, a significant majority of people liked the addition of cryopods and prefer the game with cryopods in it. Now that I agree with, but it wouldn't help anyone on Official servers.
  3. As darkradeon has proved, that's not true. Now returning to your question: Dododex is beautiful for some things, but it's not a wiki, it isn't supposed to be a wiki and was never intended to be a wiki. But for the information that Dododex intends to provide, it does a wonderful job. Fandom was, and still is, much MUCH worse than wiki.gg regarding data collection and privacy. Even if they were current and up to date it would still be a horrible site. Fandom is a horror show unless you use script blocking and ad blocking. These are among the multiple reasons that the wiki left Fandom and migrated to wiki.gg. Just about everything else on the web is out of date. There were lots of fan pages, calculators and other tools for ARK when it was new but people stopped maintaining them over time. In summary: If you want a true wiki, there is no good alternative to wiki.gg.
  4. If there's a problem it only exists on your computer - on both of my my computers, and on the computers of other people in this thread, plus members of my tribe that I've asked, every link & menu works exactly how it's supposed to. This looks unique to you. "Spawn_Locations" and "Spawn_Map" are two different things. Spawn_Locations is for characters, Spawn_Map is for creatures. If you are going to "Creature Spawn Maps" > "The Island" and it's taking you to the "Spawn_Locations" page, that's not happening to other people, there's something wrong on your end. 1) The first page you showed in your original post is titled, "The Island/Spawn Locations" https:// ark. wiki. gg / wiki / The_Island / Spawn_Locations As already communicate to you by more than one person - That is the map for character spawn locations. When I click on the down-arrow next to "Content" it shows a list of all the character spawn zones, which is exactly what it's supposed to show. 2) The second page you showed in your original post is titled, "Data Maps" https:// ark. wiki. gg / wiki / Data_maps This page contains multiple sections including: a) Resource Maps When I click on The Island it takes me to "Resource Map/The Island" just like it's supposed to. https:// ark. wiki. gg / wiki / Resource_Map / The_Island b) Explorer Maps When I click on The Island it takes me to "Explorer Map/The Island", just like it's supposed to. https:// ark. wiki. gg / wiki / Explorer_Map / The_Island c) Creature Spawn Maps When I click on The Island it takes me to "Spawn Map/The Island", just like it's supposed to. https:// ark. wiki. gg / wiki / Spawn_Map / The_Island If you click on "Creatures" you can type the name into the search box
  5. Well yeah, the OP was complaining about that also, "Kinda annoying that they dont bother to speak english".
  6. Maybe you need to pay more attention to what "international" means, what it doesn't mean is that everyone is obligated to use English. It was valid to complain about pointless comments, which have been explained by GP so they now make sense to you, but complaining that people "don't bother to speak english" is a narrow and parochial way of thinking. If WildCard made it their policy that these forums require English (as some games do) that would be different. But they haven't done that, therefore any language is fair game. Google translate works just as well for you as it does for Spanish writers and you have the freedom to scroll past any posts you can't read, no one is forcing you to pay attention to them. ARK is an international game, with an international audience, and WildCard does not have any language policies for these forums, they have just as much right to post in Spanish as you do in English.

    Dino Spawning

That's not how animals live. Most carnivores, for example, are solitary or live in small family groups and they don't just wander all over the world. Lots and lots of animals (both carnivorous and herbivorous) are territorial and live their entire lives within their established territories. There's a reason you don't see wandering herds of llamas running through North America, packs of tigers wandering through Central Europe or flocks of penguins running through the middle east spawning baby penguins everywhere. Sorry but no, it would be much less realistic. Most species tend to live in specific biomes with movement into other biomes usually being very slow, evolving over a period of many years or even centuries. Some species can quickly adapt to being transported into new biomes, but most species don't do well if this happens.

They already exist in the game, you tame them and use them for auto-farming resources (doed, anky, castorides, etc.) Harvesting dinos and defender dinos are not perfect, but even if WC decided to add human NPC's they wouldn't be perfect either. If WC wanted to make auto-harvesting easier and more useful they would have already done it, they're not going to replaced dino auto-harvesters with human NPC harvesters. This is ARK, not Conan.
  9. The game you're looking for already exists, it's called "World of Warcraft". Dinos? Check (16 and counting https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Dinosaur) MMO? Check. Story? Check (lots of stories). Missions? Check. Cut scenes? Check.
  10. You're actually missing a step there. Nothing will transfer from ARK 1.0 (ARK Survival Evolved) to ARK 1.5 (ARK Survival Ascended), which is what they are supposed to put out in a couple of months. Then, sometime far in the future when ARK2 eventually gets made, if it ever does get made, nothing will transfer from ARK 1.5 to ARK2. So you're right, but even more right than you realize, because everything is going to get erased twice, not just once. Correct. Once ASA (ARK 1.5) is released in a couple of months (maybe) everyone will have to do everything in ARK all over again from scratch. New characters, new tribes, new dinos, everything. WildCard is pretending it's a new game even though it's not, and part of that pretense is making everyone start over again. You're not missing anything, it's for very short use.

    1) Why all the yelling, are you mad? 2) WildCard has consistently said, right from the beginning, that they're not going to have NPC slaves in ARK. If they want to add an NPC that will do something automated for you, it's going to be a dino not a human.
  12. True, because that's not the page for dinos or resources.
  13. Judging from the history of the Community Crunch, ARK2 will consist entirely of concept art with no actual gameplay involved. Now that's alternative to alternative.
  14. No, unofficial servers are owned by their owners, WildCard has nothing to do with them.
  15. Points pretty much tell you the whole story, and more points are better. If a stat is important (like HP for soakers, or HP + Stam + Dam for fighters, etc.) then you want to start your breeding with at least 40 points in that stat. On our private PvE server we are willing to start breeding for boss fights if an important stat is at least 34 points, but you care about more than just boss fights. If the PvP on your server is serious then you're going to be breeding for mutations, which means you might as well keep taming until you get at least 40 points in the important stats before you start breeding. Basically it comes down to time - how much time do you want to spend taming animals, hoping that you get lucky stat rolls, before you start breeding. It's almost always more efficient to do a bunch of taming so you start your breeding pool with good stats, because that means you'll spend less time breeding for future mutations. But conversely you don't want to just keep taming things forever hoping that you'll get 50 points in a stat, it's hard to get that lucky. So my opinion is 34 points to start breeding for boss fights and 40 points if you're breeding for PvP.
  16. I would never run ARK on an external drive, you get better response times & better data throughput with an internal drive. I can think of plenty of games I would play on an external drive, ARK is not one of them. Just my opinion. Having said that, I'm guessing that you moved from and internal HDD to an external SSD, thinking that you'd get better performance that way, so it's understandable that you tried it. But even with an SSD I would only play ARK on an internal drive.
  17. Here's one man's opinion: When in doubt, invincibleqc is right. He's not perfect, but honestly he's given so many right answers he might actually be the most-right-answer person on these forums. If someone shows data (or especially anecdotes) that seems to prove him wrong, I'd start by questioning their methods and assumptions, chances are darned good that hey did something wrong. I'm not saying he's 100% correct, but the smart money bets on his answers.
  18. No, it's notifying us that it does a good bit more than that. In addition to third party stuff (like Google Analytics, Steam, Youtube, etc.) they also gather information for their own purposes. And, like so many sites, they're painfully vague about what they collect and what they use it for. For example, "We automatically collect and store certain types of information about your use of the Sites or Games." "Certain types" is one of those catch phrases that means, "We're not really telling you anything, but we're pretending that we're telling you something. If you don't question us it can mean whatever we want it to mean." Or, "We might receive information about you from other sources..." So, anything from anywhere, if they feel like it because again they're pretending to tell us something but in truth haven't told us anything about what this really means. Having said that, their policy appears to be pretty standard, their policy includes the same lack-of-information that we get from nearly every other privacy policy, because our privacy laws are garbage. And, to be fair, most people give away tons of information about themselves on the internet without thinking twice about it. The chances are likely that @PeachSalad(and most other people here) gives away much more information on the internet than wiki.gg wants. And it's probably true that that Freedom Games & wiki.gg are not doing anything unusual or insidious. However, it's wildly inaccurate to claim that they're only telling us about Google Analytics. Their policy makes it very clear that there's a lot of data going back and forth between them and third parties, just like most other web sites do.
  19. Sounds like maybe you enabled something like this accidentally. https://www.bytesin.com/tutorial-use-steam-music-player-inside-outside-games/ Yeah, that's still a possibility, but if your anti-virus and/or anti-malware can't find anything then it's more likely you enabled it accidentally while doing something else. I mean, obviously it could be malware, but if you can't find any evidence of malware then it wouldn't make any sense for something to sneak on to your computer and only do this one thing that's both funny and harmless. That's not really what malware people do.
  20. Do you have siblings or roommates who are good with computers and like to mess with you? Something like this maybe? https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5838-change-event-sounds-sound-scheme-windows-10-a.html
  21. Well, we do seem to have more people disconnected from reality now than we did 20 years ago (see above: election deniers). But regarding someone being unhappy because they didn't get what they want in a video game, or some other non-important thing, it's always been there just as much as now. Like you said, human nature.
  22. Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the participation trophy era, it's always been with us. Look how many people there are who vehemently criticize the concept of participation trophies but who somehow fail to understand their candidate lost the last election. The Venn diagram between those two demographics (participation trophy deniers and elections deniers) has an incredible degree of overlap.
  23. Yes there is, it wasn't popular enough. That's how something gets into the top 10, by being more popular. Just because you liked it doesn't mean other people have to. People have the right to like or dislike whatever they want to. You have the right to like the spider, other people have the right to dislike it. Down votes are just as valid as up votes. It's just as important to know what people dislike as it is to know what they like. Yeah, that's how voting works, because obviously. There is no issue, you're just mad because your choice didn't make it. Welcome to voting.
  24. Yeah, they know that no matter what they say the people who are angry about ASA being a scam will start replying with questions, complaints and accusations, so they've chosen to just be silent rather than face the music.
  25. Do you understand that "game time" and "forum activity" are two different things?
