  2. No one knows yet, ARK2 is nothing but vapor and promises at this point. Having said that, the history of computer games and the history of WildCard would indicate that a computer that's at least good enough to run ASA will be the minimum to be good enough to run ARK2.
  3. I could see having a couple of species that are specific to a single map that form their own mini-food-chain, but the idea of having specific meats as a general addition to the game for many species is unnecessarily complicated. Being required to have many different types of food in troughs sounds like time wasting micro-management of resources. The last thing I want to see in the game is having tames die because we forgot to farm meat from some specific target species.
  4. I don't know of any mods that do this - then again I have not looked for a mod to specifically do that, so take my answer with a grain of salt. Having said that there are two solutions available to you: 1) you can configure spawn point using the .ini files, information on how to do that is on the server configuration page on the wiki. 2) you can use console commands to spawn in gachas. If no one else knows of a mod that does what you want, at least you have other options available.
  5. I didn't include any math in my previous post, but I think @banggugyanguhas done a great job of demonstrating why I asked if you were absolutely certain about the time. I don't want to give the impression that I'm arguing with you, per se, I'm as curious about this as you are and, quite frankly, I'm doing a reality check on myself to see if my knowledge of the game is lacking or misinformed in some way. I agree with Bang when he says, " I don't see how you could possibly be killing gigas with a rex at this level." I'm not specifically arguing that it's impossible, I mean it quite literally when I say I don't know how you could be doing it. The reason being, it simply doesn't match up with that I've learned and think that I know. If you are indeed consistently and reliably killing gigas as you say, it would be great to see a video or a screenshot (from near the end) showing it. A picture is worth a thousand words, it could be informative to see what it looks like in your game when you're doing this hunting. Also, do you have any mods or custom settings on your server that could affect your ability to hunt gigas with a rex? I remember from other threads that you're running your own server, but I don't remember anything about how you might have configured your environment.
  6. Why did he feel the need to give such condescending questions? Look at the context of the whole thread, not just one post.
  7. If it's not covered in the CC then they haven't published it. Are you under the delusion that anyone here has psychic powers? Since you can get to this web site I'm assuming your google works just as well as everyone else's.
  8. Have you read the most recent Community Crunch, you can answer most of your own questions just by reading it.
  9. Nope. You're making up a fake argument because you think it sounds good. A 6-person tribe on Officials will have just as hard a time, and get just as much destroyed, as a solo player on small tribe servers. Nope again, the only one here that doesn't want to understand is you. Ummm, what? Yeah, that's exactly what it means. If he's right about it then it definitely means he's not wrong. Nope. Still not true. You're making up a fake argument and hoping that people fall for it. Nope. You're too busying having a tantrum to listen. We'll see how that works out for you.
  10. Nope, you already lost, because WildCard is not going to do what you want.
  11. Yeah, made a mistake and misread something. I thought you were asking for help for solo players on the "Small Tribes servers" when you were just asking for help for solo players on a standard server. So, take everything I said and multiply it by more. A solo player should never, ever expect to be able to hold their own against large tribes, that's just foolish. If you play solo on a standard PvP server then you have to expect everything bad that will happen to you.
  12. As far as I know, no one knows that answer to this, I don't believe WC has said anything about small tribes for ASA. Unless they do say something, you should assume it will be exactly the same, because ASA is going to be almost exactly the same as ASE. Remarkably little is going to change, they have to get the game published on a short deadline and if they do anything other than port the game to UE5 then we should all be greatly surprised. So one highly motivated person should be able to hold their own against 6 highly motivated people. 1 person should be able to tame as many dinos as 6 people. 1 person should be able to harvest as much as 6 people. 1 person should be able to do as much damage as 6 people. 1 person should be able to fight at 6-1 odds and still "hold their own". The simple answer is, no, that's basically delusional. If the 6 person tribe was lazy and inexperienced then yes, you should be able to hold your own. But if you're one good player vs 6 good players then it should be obvious that you're going to lose every time. Please understand, they're not going to fix anything before ASA gets released. They might fix some things in the future, but they don't have time to do anything other than migrate ARK from running inside of UE4 to running inside of UE5. If there are any improvements to ARK those improvements are going to be built in to UE5, but there won't be any changes to game balance or any of the core game mechanics of how ARK works. This is not a new game, it's not a rewrite, it's not different, it's only being moved from UE4 t oUE5. Why do they need to do that? You're not playing on a "solo tribes" server, it's as "small tribes" server. When you join a server that's intended for 6-person tribes then it's only common sense to assume that they're not going to have a lot of good spots for solo-duo-trio tribes, the tribes are supposed to be 6-people, end of story. Mind you, if you want to suggest that they should have some servers for solo-tribe PvP, that's understandable and if that's what you want then you should suggest it. But it's rather silly to expect them to make a small tribe server better for you because you want to play solo. They're not supposed to understand it, because that's not what the server is for. Have you ever tried playing basketball solo against 5 people? It doesn't go well for the solo player. Have you ever tried to join a bowling league and bowl against 6-person teams? That doesn't go well either. So why would you try to solo ARK against 6-person teams, that doesn't make sense. If you choose to play small tribes then it's your responsibility to understand you will always be outgunned and be willing to accept the consequences of that choice. Make friends with 5 people.
  13. No one knows for sure. They haven't published any game play videos nor requirements. Having said that, probably the answer if yes but you might need to adjust your settings lower than you currently play ASE.
  14. Even with UE5 being multiplatform there is still at least a little bit of work that is needed to run a game on each platform, especially a larger game like ARK. It's possible that they might be able to roll out on consoles at the same time, but I wouldn't count on it. The contract they signed with Nitrado only specifies PC, so obviously they're going to focus on PC first so they can meet that deadline without paying any extra money if they can help it. In theory it's not that hard to publish a game to multiple platforms, but when you look at WildCard's history there is usually a surprisingly large amount of time between their PC releases and the other platforms. WildCard might surprise us and do consoles at the same time, or even very soon after PC, but based on their history I wouldn't count on that happening, there will probably be a time delay.
  15. Download to a PC yes. The servers run on regular computers on WildCard's server farm, and they have to be downloaded to a computer to run. If you have a spare computer you could use that as a dedicated server or you can play on your PC in local/host mode. The thing you can't do is download it to a console and play local/host on a console.
  16. It seems like you might be joking, but that sound is how they let you know that you're taking a picture. It's meant to be the same sound that your phone uses when you take a picture.
  17. That is a weird looking elephant standing next to Gomphotherium. Also, when did she dye her hair blonde?
  18. Panthera tigris philosophicus, a rare but important historical species.
  19. However, basic logic says that it's a real possibility that can't be ignored. The two companies had plenty of opportunity to negotiate, it's pretty darned reasonable to assume that WildCard negotiated the deadline to be only PC in order to give themselves wiggle room on the console schedule. And for a change, I'm not saying that to criticize WildCard. Lots of companies have a staged rollout doing different platforms on separate schedules. It has nothing to do with reading comprehension and everything to do with drawing reasonable conclusions based on WildCard's stated difficulties making UE5 work combined with the fact that consoles are conspicuously omitted from the schedule in the contractual agreement. It's not like either company just forgot that consoles exist, they're not dummies, it's pretty obvious that contractually agreeing only on the PC release was a deliberate choice by both parties.
  20. If I had a dollar for every time I died tired...
  21. My take is that the level of a giga in the wild doesn't matter much, they're all giga's. The day that I learned a Lvl 25 wild giga could easily kill my perfect tame Lvl 150>225 giga with 25 post-tame levels in melee is the day I realized that they're all dangerous. I'm going to play devil's advocate for a moment, are you sure, like absolutely certain it was less than a minute or did it jut feel like less than a minute because you were caught by surprise when you died? Perception of time can be a funny thing, especially when you're in a fight for your life. Also, using terrain to reduce the number of bites the giga gets doesn't help if they bite often enough to keep the bleed going, it's not like they need to hit every time. That AOE range of 8-12 vertical and 8-10 horizontal foundations can reach your mount more often than it feels like they should. This comment specifically, "The giga was doing something like 30 pts of damage per bite which seemed about like the others, but my rex's health was plummeting fast." makes me think that it was hitting you often enough to keep the bleed going, and the fight just lasted a little longer than it felt like it was lasting.
  22. I've been warning people for years, never trust a dead gallimimus.
  23. If you want your base on Fjordur to be ok, you will have to periodically transfer back to Fjorder to renew the decay timers. Mind you, you don't have to stay on Fjordur for long, all that matters is that you go back and make sure that your base rezzes back in so you can see all of the pieces and parts. The moment your base has rezzed back in you can go back to the other map again. The stuff owned by players in ARK has a decay timer, the amount of time depends on the type of object. If you stay away for too long your base will start to decay ( the pieces just disappear *poof* ). There is also a timer for animals, even if they don't starve eventually they disappear just like buildings and other objects, but I don't remember how long that timer is. I think the current timers are as follows: 4 days for thatch/small utility structures 8 days for wood/adobe/electrical wires 12 days for stone, 16 days for metal 35 days for Tek
  24. Translation: You're afraid of an honest discussion.
  25. That's what we should assume. WildCard is going to be pretty desperate to get ASA published to PC as fast as possible, so it only seems logical that they're going to put consoles on the back burner until they are able to roll it out to PC.
