  1. I need a name for these. I know no one reads them but a name would still be nice. Welcome to the BBC Big Bob Champions This guide is on the easiest task in ark- slaying the alpha dragon. There will soon be guides on the caves, don't worry. For this, you need 1 dino. 3 would make it easier because of mate and pack boost, but 1 works fine. you also need wyvern milk (very annoying I'm sorry.) The dino, is just a deinonychus. no fancy saddle. in terms of stats you just need 10,000 health (way lower works, but safety is nice) and 1500 melee. you can get away with 3k for health, but you would need a good bit of practice. You want to take your deinonychus and just start running. be very careful to watch your stamina. jump whenever the dragon sends a fireball. when she sends her minions, try to kill as many as you can. after this she should land. drink your wyvern milk (dein and player) and attack on back foot. the dien is small enough to not get hurt. DO NOT JUMP WHEN THE DRAGON IS LANDED! this will activate the deins pounce, latching to the beast. this drains tons of stamina and allows you to be hit. repeat this section until the dragon is dead. Now, the reason this works. You may have noticed where your dein was attacking the numbers were low, but in the middle of the dragon, the numbers were in the thousands. this is because the dein inlicts a bleed effect, much like that of the giga, allo and thyla, except this one works on bosses. for those unaware, bleeding effects do damage based on the creatures maximum health. the deinonychus does 0.3% of a creatures health in damage over 7 seconds. nothing special right? Except this bleed also stacks up to 5 times. with each bleed starting and ending slightly later than the previous one. assuming you have 5 bleeds going at once, you would be doing 1.5% of the creatures health over 7 seconds. this still doesn't seem like much, so let's add some more math. trauma. school. burning. vietnam. run. RUN. Helena? I'm afraid. every second the deinonychus does 0.2% max health per second. still not enough? that's 1944 dps for the alpha dragon. a therizinosaur(the dino most people use for this fight) does 52 base damage. theris attack 1.2 times per second. this means they have a base dps of 62.4. if we give it the same melee as our dein (1500%) it does 780 per hit, or 936 dps. but we can be like most parents, wait for the theri to find someone then punish it, give it an unlocked window, have it sneak out, and only support the child if it's what we want. of course the dein doesn't need protection. he just dives in between the legs and starts chomping. of course I mean the dragons legs and the protection is the deins saddle. get your mind out of the gutter
  2. ***I AM FULLY AWARE THAT FEW PEOPLE ARE PLAYING ASE ANYMORE, BUT I WILL KEEP MAKING SIMPLE GUIDES. SO GO SUCK A DUCK IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!*** this is a strategy many already know, but my guides are for the noobies, so back off. to pull this heist off you simply need a parachute and enough movement speed to outrun a deinonychus (not always required) this can be done 2 ways. 1 way needs a grappling hook and a crossbow on top of the parachute, but is much safer for the first strategy, you simply run to the nest when the deins are distracted(only works near a cliff or ledge), grab an egg and jump off the cliff/ledge. deploy your parachute. now when the diens follow you, they run off the cliff, but can't reach you. then you float to (hopefully) safety. the next strategy is very similar, but you don't take the egg first. instead you try to attract the deins. they should play an animation to indicate you have their attention. then you run off the cliff and parachute, but before the diens reach the cliff, spin and shoot your grapple at the lip. then pull in. the deins should jump right over you, allowing you to check the nests to see the levels. these are the strategies I use until I have the power to obliterate the deins. thanks for reading, good luck, and go suck a hesperornis.
  3. Thanks once more. My friend and I just started a server, and we are always disappointed we can't get our fav creature, but we finally got to properly tame a bloodstalker. How do I give you reputation points?
  4. Thanks so much! I tried it and it does exactly what I need! In my new fjordur playthrough I just got a bloodstalker. I realized it should be ok that I know where they spawn, because I always look at the wiki before taming stuff anyway.
  5. I believe it is just the island...I transferred to fjordur as part of a challenge, and everything works there! Thanks for helping!
  6. *****PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REQUIRES YOU TO OWN THE FREE DLC FJORDUR OR VALGUERO***** I normally don't like to post guides that require other maps, however this strategy is too good to not talk about. You simply need to get many deinonychus with good stats, breed them into a super army, and fight the dragon(good saddles may be required) The reason this works, is because of their bleed. Deinonychus has a bleed similar to a thylacoleo, however the deinonychus bleed works on bosses. That's all! Thanks!
  7. Thanks for all the feedback, I'm aware of the 2x2 with ramps leading into it, I didn't realize that works with theris though.
  8. To make this simple trap, there are 2 ways. 1 takes 4 stone dino gateways, and 2 dino gates. 2 takes 4 stone dino gateways, 2 dino gates, and 6 stone foundations. For the first method, place down the 4 gates, with roughly the players width in between. Place the gate on the first and last gateway. You should now have 4 gates, in a straight line, forming a tunnel with the ends closed. Next open one gate, attract the theri and once its in, slip out the hole you left in the side. Finally, go around and close the open gate. For the second strategy, first place the foundations in a 2x3 arrangement. Put gates on the 2 snap points in the middle, and the 2 on the edge. They should all lead into a straight line. Then it's the same as strategy 1! Please let me know if you have any feedback!
  9. Here are 5 tips to quick start your game. 1. Tame the moschops you find on the beach. They gather lots of fiber, thatch and berries early game. They can also automatically gather from bushes if set to wander. 2. Burn as much wood as you can, try to always have 1 campfire running, even if not cooking anything. That charcoal will be useful later. 3. Using a Bola and your fists, tame up a few dimorphodons. These make great body guards and meat gatherers early game. 4.do not be afr
  10. This is a short guide on how to make a relatively effective element farm. Please note it doesn't produce element directly, it instead makes element dust. The first step, you will need to tame some tek parasaurs, the higher the health the better. Next tame a therizino. Level melee fore more resources, or weight so it can run longer without you. Next set up small chamber, about double the length of your theri. Don't put a roof on. Next, build relatively high directly above the chamber, and put your male tek parasaur in the very middle of the open space at the top. Fill as much as you can around the male with females, so that their backsides face into the chamber. Set all the parasaurs to mate, the theri to aggresive and add some air conditioners. ***THIS IS NOT MY OWN, THE CONCEPT WAS INSPIRED BY SYNTACYT***
  11. This is a very simple and cheap megatherium trap. You will need: 111 metal/scrap metal 30 cementing paste 10 fiber 15 hide Turn those into 3x metal billboards and 1x large bear trap. Now onto the easiest part of megatherium taming, trapping it! To build this trap put 2 metal billboards at roughly a 90 degree angle, then the bear trap in the middle. Once you lead the megatherium into the bear trap simply put the last billboard down to complete it. When your done it should be a triangle with the big sloth in the middle.
  12. Ok... I specifically didn't want to use the ini files...I still have nightmares of when I made a minecraft mod pack, and I didn't like having to spawn the creatures in, because it just doesn't feel the same as normal ark.
