I really like this idea, you should share this to some of the ark Reddit groups to get some more voters if you haven't already.

I have been sharing it around there, just don't want to be too obnoxious haha.

Will probably save the further advertising for round 2 of the vote, if enough people vote it 1st, it has a good chance of winning, even if it isn't number 1 in the top 10! I don't think any of the more recent votes' winners were the number one spot in round 1 of voting

Gigantoraptor is a creature with a neutral temperament, but it will respect those who appear pleasant to its eye.

basic information:

Group: Dinosaur

Period: Late Cretaceous

Diet: Omnivore

Temperament: Neutral

Dossier:

Wild: Gigantoraptor is solitary, since whenever a male is seen without company it is because he is looking for a female to court, obviously he will defend himself from the creatures of the hostile burned land, instead the females will gather in groups waiting for the beautiful and spectacular courtship of a male specimen while they prepare nests with the vegetation of the area (there will be no eggs in the nests).

Despite the fact that the male is solitary, he will rarely meet another specimen of the same gender, unlike the females who are always in a group.

These creatures prefer areas with notable vegetation (despite being desert, if there is flora) since with these there will be their nest for the laying of eggs once a male conquers them in a spectacular way.

domestication:

Keep in mind that Gigantoraptor is certainly very large, so it will not have too many predators, so you will need honey to attract its attention, because this creature does not need to eat to tame itself, it needs you to show that you have very good taste visually speaking, a Once the animal poses to enjoy the taste of honey, you should show it the most beautiful and impressive creatures you have (that's right, only show it creatures that are pleasing to its sight), then I will leave a list of which animals you can present to it to improve taming of this dinosaur in x1 (note that you cannot repeat the creatures and you must wait 5-10 minutes to teach it a new creature):

Thylacoleo baby- 15%

Adult Thylacoleo-10%

Elemental Baby Wyvern-25%

Elemental Adult Wyvern-30%

Baby Gigantoraptor-30%

jerboa-15%

baby jerboa-20%

Rex drinks 20%

Adult Rex-25%

Adult Allosaurus-20%

baby allosaurus-30%

Giant Wolf-10%

Baby Giant Wolf-25%

Phoenix -90%

Once with enough patience and the necessary demonstrations, congratulations survivor, you have tamed a MALE Gigantoraptor.

So, how can you tame a female specimen? Putting her to sleep? Feed him behind her back? Give him dead creatures? Fighting alongside her? Well no, you will be surprised

The only way to tame a female Gigantoraptor is by making the male dance for her, he must be mounted on the creature and must coordinate to give the female a visual show, this process is very similar to drumming the mammoth, there will be a mini game in which you must be correct so that your Gigantoraptor can cut it with a majestic dance, be very careful, because if you make a mistake, your animal will stumble or make a mistake in the steps that are certainly the percentage of mastery and effectiveness. Once reaching 99% tame, the male will take his final step by opening his eyes to her majestic fan and the female will be tamed by such wonderful courtship.

Skills:

Get ready to be able to use one of Gigantoraptor's most dangerous abilities, because it will even be able to see Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus face to face. Both the female and the male will have different abilities for combat but the same for breeding.

Let's start with something of a lifetime, breeding, in documentaries we have always seen these dinosaurs in the desert taking care of their eggs in such a hostile environment, in the absence of incubators, both specimens will perform the same incubation functions in the eggs, and help in the care of the young, the waiting time for each service will be reduced, given that the Gigantoraptor can move its arms in such a way that a breeze can be made while below the eggs will be kept at an ideal temperature for hatching. hatching, also if the young are close to a couple, they will reduce their food consumption by 50%

In the intense Heat or the low temperatures of the Scorched Earth, Gigantoraptor will be able to fan you with its arms having a medium high range and it will be able to cool you and your companions in full heat wave, in the case of the icy night it is different, you will have to Being closer to your creature to enjoy the warmth of its feathers, both female and male can do this.

Now we are going with something more interesting and intense, the PvP fights. Gigantoraptor is an imposing creature and one that should not be taken lightly, pay close attention, both the female and the male will have different abilities that together are very dangerous on the battlefield.

Combat skills of the male:
In this case you must always be with your creature in his chair, the male has the great peculiarity of being able to hypnotize even larger creatures with his majestic fan, he will open it and move it at such a rate that it will give the illusion that the upper circles of their fans move clockwise and the lower fans move in the opposite direction. In order to subject creatures as large as the Rex or Giganotosaurus to this relaxation and hypnosis trance, they must be face to face against the Gigantoraptor, it is necessary to have your victims in front of you for 5-10 seconds (depends on the size of the victim ) in the case of small creatures it will be a state of insta hypnosis. Should you be lucky enough to subdue your victim, keep a Yutyrannus handy, as the target will be in such a deep state of trance and relaxation that they will take 20% more damage than even Giganotosaurus itself can. scared by the Yutyrannus. (Remember that the hypnosis pose will consume a lot of energy.) Your creature not only has the ability to look pretty, it will have such a grotesque and powerful kick that it will be able to stun and dismount the target for 5 seconds after having caused significant damage, this melee attack, despite being powerful, cannot be repeated very often. speed, and the claws on his arms won't be as strong as they appear.

To release your creature from the trance of an enemy Gigantoraptor, you must make it lose more than 60% of life so that its fan loses its beauty, even so you must remove your animal from the battlefield as quickly as possible, because after having been in a state of total relaxation will end with a feeling of insomnia, he will be clumsier, weaker, slower and will take 30% more damage.
Why should I risk Gigantoraptor on the battlefield to mesmerize a target? Because his hypnosis is not limited to one, he can subdue more than 10 targets in that state as long as they are face to face with Gigantoraptor, plus if you manage to subdue each victim more than 3 times for more than 10 seconds, you will be able to steal it in the middle of combat, so it's surviving, you can steal more than 1 creature if you manage to hypnotize them 3 times.
How do I know how long Gigantoraptor needs to be able to mesmerize enemies?
Creatures that do not command respect or small and medium will be called hypnosis, such as Thylacoleo, Carnotaurus, Wolves, etc.
Creatures that command respect, that is, large creatures, will take 5 seconds, such as Rex, Allosaurus, Paraceratherium, etc.
Very large creatures like Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Rock Elemental, Elemental Wyvern, and Brontosaurus will take 10 seconds to fall victim to this state.
Time is short because in tribal warfare a lot can happen in 5-10 seconds
Female abilities:
Its physical appearance does not matter much in conflict, it will be more aggressive and faster, first, unlike the Wyvern, its powerful arms will be able to flap so hard, without noticeable fatigue and it will not stop until it is completely tired, this flapping will raise l sand and salt from its surroundings and will slightly cloud the view of enemy creatures and riders, giving an environment similar to sandstorms. Unlike the male, her wings are not as strong in the same way, but she will be able to attack and stun with her powerful legs with more speed and rhythm.
In combat BOTH will have an ability in common, medium and small creatures can be subdued at their feet, they can be stepped on so hard that you must release it as quickly as possible, because the pressure will be so high that your animal will experience a drowning sensation, and it will die very quickly.
I hope that with this you understand that Gigantoraptor is a danger on the battlefield.

Thank you very much for reading, I accept criticism

  • GeonGC changed the title to Gigantoraptor Erlianensis- The fan of war

(Completely unbiased) This is my favorite submission in the top 10, I'm a huge fan of cassowaries and avians alike, I remember I had a project back In the 6th grade where I had to make a clay model of two of my favorite animals at the time and I'm not even kidding about this! I chose the Cassowary and the Axolotl, pretty coincidental i find a axolotl profiled fellow with a cassowary based submission, story time aside I think this animal could be good from both a PvP and PvE aspect ofcourse it's mother like tendencies being good from both sides I find to be one of the more defining parts sort of like a branching out what oviraptor could've been. It'll be unique enough from other theropods to make it not feel in the same vein as another "Chomp Chomp bite" dinosaur",  furthering from combat and more on environmental while I would like it in a more tropical style map scorched earth fits it as the desert is where its more commonly depicted in science and media, (I've been on a disorganized tangent for a solid minute lol) I have an idea for the submission not utility wise but purely about the fun usage of it, maybe it can have a sliding mechanic, being able to strafe and skate on the dunes slopes?

If this dino manages to outvote Moa in the final round, I'd be happy regardless because I love chickens.

I’m definitely hoping for the Gigantoraptor outvote myself haha (as a totally unbiased source)

I also love the Moa, but there’s quite a few submissions I’d prefer over it. It’s a really solid pick, but especially when it comes to Gigantoraptor v Moa, Gigantoraptor feels like it has a LOT more end game staying power with the imprinting and combat abilities.

Moa itself is still a strong concept though, so may the best bird win!

these ideas arent really fit for a singular map, if these ideas were added into the game it would be for more than 1 map at least, i feel like wildcard arent looking for utility dinos for scorched earth but more scorched earth specialised dinos, made only for the map, the idea is great, but not for this vote

I’ll have to disagree there. They never said the ideas had to fit the map, just that the choice of creature was appropriate. Gigantoraptor itself is known for living in arid environments, and while the abilities aren’t desert themed, the struggle of breeding is something that happens on all maps no matter what. If anything, if the abilities were kept the same (which is highly likely since WC keeps the general vibe of the submissions preserved in the form of at least some shared abilities), it would make Scorched Earth an even more invaluable map to go to since you’d be able to nab a creature that vastly improves the breeding experience (imprinting isn’t skill based, just time consuming af)

Additionally, a large trend I’ve noticed is that almost every large creature mod adds in a creature that can imprint on babies. It seems to be a niche that people sorely think needs to be added into ARK, and that’s what Gigantoraptor provides.

Finally, if you look at some of the other top 10s, their abilities as a whole don’t really relate to Scorched either. For example, Moa, while sandstorm immune, is an incubator/platform saddle hybrid. There isn’t really anything desert-y about that! Only reason I didn’t add sandstorm immunity to G-raptor was so that it doesn’t look like I’m just cannibalising other high ranking submissions to make mine more appealing, but nothing is stopping WC from adding it themselves.

TL:DR, sorry for the wall of text, just feel like it’s important to say that just because the abilities aren’t solely focused on the desert, doesn’t mean they aren’t sorely needed in the game! Gotta argue my case for the concept after all, I really really want to see Gigantoraptor come to the game, and Scorched Earth is the perfect map for it!

Giaganotoraptor
Level 1
Damage 100%= 325
Energy 980
Life 60.000(base)
Oxygen 4500
Food 12500
Speed=Therizino
Weight 17,900 75% reduction in wood fiber, berries and sap.
Tame to tame this dinoz you must have one or more pegomastax because this dinoz will be aggressive and to tame it you must do it passively and to be able to approach it you must consume feathers from it which the pegomastax can steal up to 5 each feather has an effect which makes this dinoz neutral towards the player and its creatures for up to 15 minutes this dinoz would be tameable with giga hearts (8) lamb meat (160) sap (16) exceptional kibble (11) this would have an interval of about 40 - 2 minutes between food and food and once it is tameable it would have an interval of about 40 - 2 minutes between food and food and once it is tameable it would have an interval of about 40 - 2 minutes between food and food and once it is tameable it would have an interval of about 40 - 2 minutes between food and food. 2 minutes between meals and once it is tamed more than 60% of its feathers are no longer needed if it is hit by the player or any wild creature the taming is restarted if one consumes its feathers the theryzino, Barionix, Raptor and Carno will be neutral.
Tamed would keep his stats and each level he would increase a little more than a giga but in compensation he would have a panic bar which increases as he loses health and once he loses 25% he enters a state of panic in which he dismounts the rider and increases the damage received by 650% and the speed by 35% in this state he is completely passive and if hit he will run away.
In wild state it would have access to giganotosurian rage and a 75% damage reduction, both disappear after being tamed.

Abilities
This dino when killing megalanians lungscorpios titanoboas or basilicos generates biotoxin passively.
Basic Strike two hits of 325 damage each in a row pharmacies wood sap and X plants in addition to all types of meat, inflicts a holy of 6% of the target's maximum health for 6 seconds
Click secudary sweep 415 slows opponents by 15% and pushes creatures with a lower weight stat than yours
Tertiary bite and inflicts 515 damage this attack takes 1,5 seconds to reuse it can be used for meat gleaning and if the target has a bleed effect it inflicts double damage
Roar removes all effects such as bleeding, poison, burns etc. and reduces the panic bar to zero but also reduces the damage inflicted by 12% and increases regeneration by 24% for 1 minute.
This dino must be with food, health and energy above 70% to be able to reproduce and it will lose energy if it is not cared for by its owner (being petted) at least once every 3 hours the ideal temperature for its egg is -11 degrees Celsius.
Theryzinosaurs are passive and if you attack them they will run away but they will never attack this dino.

I think/thought the Gigantoraptor was a boring species to put in the game and had the same opinion about a nanny based creature but this suggestion is so well thought through and insanely high quality with even mentioning that S+ will take time to come to ASA that it has completely changed my opinion i still haven't decided yet but i might actually vote for it

Glad to hear it! I really tried to put as much thought as possible considering the creature is coming to ASA rather than ASE. Either or, since it's in the top 10 you'll eventually have to choose how to rank it in the second round. Personally, I'm hoping that your "good long think" (gonna have to do the same, the concepts are so strong this vote!) leads you to put Gigantoraptor as #1, for very obvious reasons haha!

i wish this was the most upvoted one if people want an egg nanny creature

The cool thing about these contests is, if enough people vote it as their first choice in the second round, it'll still win over the Moa! The second round is also anonymous, so people won't feel like they have to vote Moa because it has the most votes.

I still really like the Moa, but I do think my own concept would be a lot more appropriate for a breeder's friend.

Hello I am here to present you the Oviraptors bigger cousin, the Gigantoraptor, a Creature of giant claws and omnivorous diet, it stalked the deserts of scorched earth searching for bugs, eggs, berries and other creatures/food items to get its nutrients from.2080162076_GigantoraptorTemplate-min.JPG.d1a021bd274f1c08105cf3914c52dc41.JPG

This Creature was strong, as it could eat certain eggs, to get a boost in power, (depending on tier it would get a 2x-10x boost in melee for 5min) This creature would normally be neutral, if getting too close, it would mean death for the survivor.

To tame this magnificent Creature, you must first get it to roar, while it roars you must shoot its crest with heavy artilerry (Pump action Shotgun, Assault Rifle, or any fabricated weapon), where it will take less damage but will be stunned for a couple seconds, in which you must feed it (it can eat eggs, kibbles , meat and others, but what works best is eggs and kibble), doing this for multiple times until the creature is tamed to you
