randomblanks
Hello all! First time poster, slight noob to the game. I'm playing the Scorched Earth DLC (cause I fell in love with those Jerboas) single player, and I sometimes split screen with my partner. We went out hunting for raptors today, and I managed to tame a (Wild level 25, tamed 31) black female raptor with a glowing orangey-reddish cloud coming out of her. She's no bigger than the other raptor we found, and there was only two, so it can't be a pack boost according to the wiki. I don't think she's alpha but idk what else would cause a glowing cloud. Below should be a pic of her with the cloud, her next to the other one, and the other one displaying no cloud. We have all expansions and dlc so it could be something about that. Huge sorry for the camera quality, I dont want to deal with the hassle of screencapping a ps4 and sending it to myself. http://i.imgur.com/SCkCgXv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fVHBSAY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tN0PqbD.jpg
d1nk
You used regular knockout methods or console commands to tame?
FlyinJapman4
If it's not a pack boosted Raptor, then it's an Alpha and you're not supposed to legally tame those. You can tell if it's an Alpha if it's bigger than the other Raptor.
Royalstar
Only explanations I have are that you either used console commands on an alpha raptor (they aren’t tameable legitimately) or it’s a pack boosted raptor. In the first case, it should be noticeably larger than a normal raptor, and in the second case it should only glow when you vocalize (i.e. hit r3 while riding it), and the other tamed raptors nearby (the wiki says 2 or more) should glow too (in a different color). How exactly did you tame it?
randomblanks
Yeah i just used tranq arrows and meat. There was only one other raptor around when I found her though so I wasnt sure if pack boosted

choroni
Some regular raptors sometimes have the orange glow coming off them in my single player game also. Even my tamed raptors occasionally have it. I have been curious about what causes it. It isn't a mate boost, because I've seen it on raptors of my all-male pack as well as my mixed gender group. The highest level of the pack is the alpha.
