CUR8Y
Hello All, Maybe this has been discussed before but Im going to ask anyway. Does anyone know what level your own rex would safely need to be to take down an alpha rex? I.E would your owned level 200 rex take down say a level 20 Alpha rex? Just keen to know so I dont loose my rex taking on more than he can chew so to speak. Thanks C U R 8 Y
Jason2017
It depends on the saddle if you're taking on a high level one, if you're on Rag then use a lightning wyvern for rexes and wyverns if they're trapped well enough in a metal trap
DavidPlayz
Me and my Tribe took a level 50 Alpha Rex with 2 imprinted 200+ rexes easily. If you can get it stuck with 2 rexes it is quite easy.

Topcrayfish9234
Imprint on an argy and get its' health to 3 or 4 k and then bank melee into it till you get 700 I kill every alpha except alpha wyverns with my argy and let me tell you I love my Roxy she is my baby and I put her against all kind of odds except w vern those things scare the crap out of me
Gunzor
Have you seen the dodo trick? drop a dodo and it will not be able to eat it. sit outside of aggro range and hit it with fire arrows. It will fix on the dodo body and not be able to eat it. Until it spoils
slowe
ice wyvs are the best way to kill alpha carnos or alpha raptors because there ice attack slows them to the point where they won't even hit you nor will you take damage, i don't believe the ice effect works on alpha rex's though so i wouldnt take one on alone with an ice confidently, the level of your rex is not going to matter so much as its stats, imprint and saddle when going after an alpha rex, but i would definitely bring a few rex's with me to help attack it if i did go that route
KrakenOverlord
step 1. Get to level 99 - nearly level 100. step 2. Put ALL points into melee step 3. Get a battle axe step 4. kill everything
oScottieHo
The alpha dinos are not really that bad, took a 130 alpha rex down with a paracer yesterday, all be it a raised one.
nursejosh
A strong wyvern can kill any alpha raptor or carno, and most alpha rexes too. Especially if that wyvern has high level health and melee damage. Always a safe bet to attack Alphas with your wyvern, that way you can fly away if things get too hairy. asouth1126
Yeah I like to use terrain to safely attack alpha rexes with wyverns

ArianaGaming
Hello @CUR8Y, I got a 550 melee. However you can do it by using the terrain with any level Rex. Alpha Rex is super fast so once you attack you need to continue your attack, no retakes. So position your self in such a way that you can go backwards up a hill with your no level Rex continuously attacking the chasing Alpha Rex- If it runs off you just stop and retake some stamina and the alpha will return. The lower level Rex you have the more the alpha Rex will run off. Prepare yourself for a long fight. This thing will never loose aggro on you if you are still alive that is. Be aware that WC is changing the AI from time to time. Mysteries mysteries. Have some kind of backup plan just in case. It can be sleeping bags, a metal pillar that can be aggro substitute or why not a trap in metal as it can be used for other large creatures as well (two metal high wall should be enough 2x2x2). Your Rex must be on Neutral if you need to use your Rex AI in the fight (jump off and right back on again). Just keep calm during the fight and you should be just fine keeping the high ground. Above all HAVE FUN. Regards, Ariana
gilgamesh9
Good idea to soften the alpha rex up with bullets from a high place that it can't reach, then hit and run tactics with an argy to finish it off.
StegoUK
I would say as long as it has a good saddle, hp and melee thoroughly around 500 to 600 melee then you should be able to take it on.
Zachhynd
it can but if you got to escape its gonna be rough fight make sure you watch your stam and make sure you have a good saddle and stats on the rex.
RyanH719
Should be fine as long as melee and health are boosted a decent amount. At least a journeyman saddle would be perfect too but not necessary
