Where is the Ark Digest Q&A ?

Ok ive waited and ive waited and still no Ark Digest Q&A. I understand that the devs have been hard at work creating new content however the last Digest was posted on FEBRUARY 4th thats nearly 3 months without any answers to some great questions. Will the devs even be able to answer these questions now that they have been building up for so long.

Its like your letting the work pile up, at first its easy to sort but the longer it gets left the harder the task becomes, and the more i start to think there just going to open a new thread, asking for new questions and so many of the questions im looking forward to being answered will simply not be reposted.

@jat Can you please ask jeremy to take a look at the Digest ???

It is probably since so many people want the nerf fixed they have to spend all their time doing that. If people stopping worrying about the nerf they might actually be able to do a Q&A

I don think its that, they said the nerf/buffing is only changing the values of a few lines of code so takes next to no time to implement. I get they are looking to see if they have the balance right but that only takes reading opinions in the official channels. I understand that they maybe busy but not releasng an ark digest for 3 months seems unjustified to me. Someone said the digest has got nothing to do with the getting to end game content to me before, and they are totally wrong it has much relevance to the end game, what if somone had a miracle idea or a perfct fix to a problem, this could be implemented before the game even releases, it could also ease alot of the gripe players face with the way the ark plays out.

I remember Jat saying the next Digest will be "extra juicy". I bet the next Digest will come after the next update is implemented.

Yeah i saw the same post but how long ago was that said? He replied to my other thread but this is dated 28th March so still over a month old.

Unfortunately, this does come down to timing, not just work related obligations, but other things can show up too. The Digest is typically covered by Jeremy and the live team (but he is the key) on Fridayish/during the weekend as during the week he's working on getting the game to 1.0, though lately our weekends have been packed from both a work and from his own personal POV. We've had to deal with a major version patch, followed by critical issues, combined with gdc, and then returning from an event - you're always playing catch up (plus he's actually been out of the office for the last few weekends due to family obligations + medical). We will be doing a Digest, soon hopefully, but right now our focus is on getting this update wrapped up.

This was before the update 256 released which is what i think he was refering to but that was released april 28th so do we have to wait untill update 257 now or even 258?

I love his use of the word "Hopefully" ? Jat i love you buddy you've answered alot of my questions and you do a trumendous job but please have a word with jeremy from me and tell him to pull his finger out?:)

I get you. And I don't think that the Q&A is not important and if I made you think that then I apologize. It is very important. The thing is with the backlash they got, they will be taking their time with v3. I don't blame them. They have to decide how much they can put back in without going against the initial idea too much but at the same time try to appease everybody. That will by no means be an easy goal to achieve.

I know that people have some good ideas and I have seen a lot, but I just think wildcard needs to deal with the flier nerf, not the players. People have even had good ideas as far as the nerf goes but they have been drowned out by all of the hate and insults. I really don't blame them for not talking about that.

now if you are talking about ideas other than the nerf that people have or questions that aren't about that, then I am completely with you. That's also because there a lot more important things than the nerf going on right now. Either way I get you. It just depends on what questions or ideas you were talking about as to whether I agree with you are not. You didn't put you questions in there so I didn't want to assume what you were meaning beforehand

Not posting Digest for last 3 months is unacceptable. The point is, maybe they will post digest after this patch, but the amount of question getting answeared would be really laughable comparing to over 22 pages of questions. Instead of answearing the important one such about AI overhaul they keep avoid answearing, we would get answears for very trivial questions.

do you know how long it takes to answer 'No we wont.' 157000 times to the same 'will you revert the flier nerf' question? i imagine it takes a pretty long time.

on a serious note i havent seen an ETA on the digest, so they arent breaking any promises. id love to see some questions answered but if they have more important things to do then by all means let them do it :)

I do agree that sometimes the answers given are vauge and some of the questions are not what most of the playerbase want answering, but the person asking that question wants his/hers question answered just as much as you want yours answered, it simply opinion on which one you care most about in your case its the A.I overhaul but others might feel its the boss's overhaul or getting mods like S+ on console. Im simply looking for an answer any answer wil do Yes/NO even Maybe-So is acceptable to me at this point lol At this time there is 26 pages and 642 questions this just seems unfeasible to actually read and answer that many questions properly, to me its like a teenager not doing their homework and the more it builds up the more they dont want to do it.

Yeah but posting it once in the ark digest so everyone can simply quote them would be alot easier for everybody.

Also i know there is no eta on the digest its the fact of how long its been since they posted one. Would you be happy if there was no in game update for ark for another 3+ months and when you questioned why you just got a responce saying theres no eta so thats fine and dandy?

"to me its like a teenager not doing their homework and the more it builds up the more they dont want to do it." Pretty much what Wildcard is doing right now. AI overhaul and Bosses overhaul are the same thing. Due to prmitive AI of all ARK creatures they cannot make enjoyable boss battles that requires skill to defeat the enemy, not ridiculous amount of imprinted dinsoaurs to have more damage and hp than the boss has in the end. Heh, the dinosaurs AI makes me mad, I cannot stand watching dinosaur trying to walk through the rock over and over again.

I don't think console players will ever get mods. Maybe the ones that was added as "Official Mod" like The Center, but nothing more than that.

Next Digest will contain answears to trival questions I bet, because they will be easy to answear and then they will be able to say "Yey!, you see? We talk about community concerns with our playerbase perfectly".

Ok well hopefully voicing your concerns like this will make the devs especially jeremy sit up and pay more attention to some of the playerbase i understand both sides but there has to be some middle ground for both partys.

On one hand answering everysingle question with an exstensive answer is impractical, but on the other choosing the "easy" to answer questions with a very vauge answers is equally unacceptable and usually leaves more questions than it does answers but i suppose in their eyes its building mystery :S

they have literally stated they wont revert it multiple times in multiple threads and people (who im 100% sure of read it) still ask for a revert. the ARK community is either extremely dense or has memory loss and just runs around in circles. i doubt even stating it in a digest or sticky will silence these people :)

and yes i would be, i dont expect the devs to owe me anything. i play their game to test it, if they want to wait 3 months with releasing new content its their right to do so.

And with most content already out and only a couple more content updates left, digest may not need to be as often as it was as it was a way for them to gather ideas.. if their idea is mostly formed,  no need for a weekly or even monthly digest.. same with updates.. after game is released fully,  updates will slow wayyy down.. My guess is the whiners will cry about that too..

exactly. we will see what happens but the devs never promised us bi weekly digests. it was a gift and privilege but people started seeing it as an obligation. the only way wildcard should owe us insight in their plans is when we are shareholders. but we are not so we should appreciate the things we get.

what is taking so long really?

Oooh, I don't know. Maybe they're focusing on finishing the game, instead of taking time off to read through questions. Most of which are already answered. I swear, every time they host a livestream QnA the great questions are drowned in a sea of silly questions, like "Will optimization come?" we already know it will. "Will you redo the kibble tree, it's so dumb!" we already know they will. "I lost my babies, fix your game!" they're trying but your impatience won't let them. "Will this gear, dino, structure, etc. be added?" maybe.

The Digest might return once they've got all their core features implemented. They did them weekly during their long stretch of "what should we actually add to the game". They're developing towards a full release but still taking in great suggestions. So maybe once they're done with 1.0.
After all, at least 50% of the best features in-game were once community suggestions. Breeding, a massive part of the game for many, was community suggested. I have no doubt they'll get back to wanting to hear from us and give us feedback.
They do however have quite a big list to pick from already.

Yea they are super busy, plus we've had a lot of medical stuff to deal with until recently and some weddings we couldn't get out of etc. All that personal stuff put him behind schedule and took up the extra time he would have use for things like the digest etc... He's super focused on patches at the moment, so digest is lower on his priority list.

I love the game he has created and just feel passionately about it. Please get well soon jeremy ?

Yes I'm his spouse.  Actually he's not sick, the issue is mine. We've been having to travel out of state to see specialists after we went through our 4th miscarriage in a row. I totally understand you wondering where the digest is. I would be asking too! But yea he's so busy right now that I hardly see him, so I think he just can't find the time yet to answer questions. :)
