    Titanomyrma

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Titanomyrma Species: Titanomyrma parvagigan Time: Paleogene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: Titanomyrma is one of the smaller creatures on the island; A frightening thought, when you realize it is the size of a dog. A hive-minded herbivore, Titanomyrma usually goes about it's business unless provoked. When attacked or threatened, it releases a chemical which alerts all Titanomyrma in a large range to help fight the aggressor. I've seen two varieties of Titanomyrma: Drones and soldiers. Drones are smaller, faster and land-bound, and they harvest for the hive. Soldiers are larger, slower and have wings; They defend the hive. If Titanomyrma is akin to other hive-insects, there must be Queens too, but I've yet to encounter such a variant. Domesticated: Because of its hive mentality, I've not seen any successfully tamed Titanomyrma on the island yet. Fortunately for lone survivors, separated Titanomyrma can be easily picked off for a small supply of Chitin among other valuable natural resources.

    Procoptodon

    From the album: Dossiers

Common Name: Procoptodon Species: Procoptodon vivencurrus Time: Plestiocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Reactive Wild: The first marsupial I've encountered on the island is the Procoptodon vivencurrus. Standing nearly three meters tall, it is also the largest jumping creature I've ever heard of. It is a fairly peaceful herbivore that only fiercely attacks if aggressed upon. One of Procoptodon's most unique features is its pouch. Unlike many pouched marsupials, Procoptodon's pouch is relatively dry, and has little in the way of sticky or oily fluids. I assume this is good for the joey, but I have not figured out exactly why yet... Domesticated: Procoptodon's dry pouch makes it an excellent beast of burden that can carry far more than other creatures of its size. But more importantly, many tribes use it as a two-seater transport by having a secondary rider nest in the pouch. Since this passenger doesn't have to worry about controlling the Procoptodon, the pouch-warrior can focus on firing his or her weapons.
  3. Concept Art Bonus Coloring and Color Regions 0: Body 1: None 2: Secondary shell patterning 3: Neck 4: Armor and beak 5: Armor highlights/patterning (Note: This submission has gained some popularity, which I do appreciate (#SpinToWin). With that being said, Please me ask for permission before using my artwork for Meiolania, as creatures tend to be resubmitted or showcased for these votes. You may submit Meiolania with your own idea in a future vote or showcase this creature, but either ask me for permission to include this concept art, or create your own art for the creature. Thanks.) Dossier WILD This lumbering giant is truly a sight to behold. Among the largest of the non-dinosaurian reptiles present on the ARK, Meiolania grows much larger than its distant, more common relative Carbonemys. With a reinforced shell, large cranial horns, and a bony fanged beak, Meiolania's appearance alone is enough to deter all but the largest predators of its habitat. Any unfortunate aggressors that do attempt to make a meal out of this creature will be met with the realization that one, the nigh bulletproof hide and indestructible shell of the animal isn't exactly the most pleasing to eat, and two, getting bitten by its razor sharp beak is even less pleasant. This also presents a few challenges when attempting to domesticate the animal. Not much happens when you shoot a tranquilizer at a wall, so expect similar results when attempting to tame Meiolania in a similar manner. DOMESTICATED Only the tribes that manage to domesticate such a hardy animal can truly grasp just how tough its carapace is. Meiolania is seemingly an immovable object in combat, and takes a serious amount of brute force to injure it, though is just as if not more susceptible to hazards such as gasses. Another drawback being, quite obviously, its mobility, though it's no surprise that a multi-ton stem turtle wouldn't be the best candidate for winning a race... or would it? Well, one survivor in particular designed a specialized saddle for Meiolania, of which is equipped with rocket thrusters and a platform connected using a gyro for stabilization. When activated, Meiolania tucks into its shell and begins spinning at rapid speeds. Its smooth underbelly allows the creature to be propelled with ease, not only making Meiolania rather speedy, but quite literally turning it into a mobile fortress of doom, capable of crashing into enemies and structures alike with unparalleled force. Introducing Meiolania Meiolania is an extinct genus of herbivorous stem-turtle that lived in Australia throughout much of the Cenezoic period, and is most recognizable by its two backward-facing head horns. While the animal's name means "Small Wanderer", the one in this submission is quite the contrary. With a size comparable to that of the game's Trike, Meiolania would be one of the largest non-dinosaurian reptiles in the game. Spin To Win The star gimmick of this submission, Meiolania's saddle would be equipped with rocket thrusters, while the platform you stand on uses a gyro to prevent the rider or potential passengers from spinning. Meiolania would be capable of tucking into its shell and spinning as extreme speeds (at the cost of gasoline), effectively turning it into a living Beyblade. An extra thruster attached to the top platform of the saddle moves the creature forward, but it acts much differently to a regular moving creature. Meiolania can be propelled in the direction you are facing, but it takes a bit of time to accelerate, and isn't very controllable, making Meiolania a much more reckless foe in combat, unique to the standard attack button spam most tames utilize. Meiolania can also be shot forward in a short burst. It has a cooldown and burns through Gasoline quicker, but can help with stabilization or makes the creature all the more deadly when ramming into its opponents. New, Realistic Knockback and Ricochet Physics The faster you crash into something, the more damage you deal, the less knockback you receive, and the more knockback the foe receives. Knockback is all determined by your base knockback and drag weight, the foe's drag weight, the foe's knockback, and the speed you are traveling. The faster you hit a wall or unbreakable terrain, the faster you will ricochet off of it. This makes battling feel less like button spam, and more like an actual Beyblade battle, and the presentation could be amplified extremely well through Unreal Engine 5 of which ARK: Survival Ascended will use. In-Depth Info Spawn Location Meiolania, being one of the ARK's tougher herbivores, often resides in areas with harsher climates or greater quantities of carnivores. It can be found along Ragnarok's desert rivers and canyons. Taming Meiolania is a more mid-late game tame, in a similar progression tier to Rex, Bronto, Spino, etc. To tame Meiolania, you first must battle it. With relatively high damage, armor pierce, and a significantly high natural resistance, Meiolania is difficult to take down without a larger tame or available explosives. When Meiolania drops to a certain health percentage, it will withdraw into its shell, akin to the Doedicurus. While withdrawn, Meiolania takes even less damage from creature attacks and completely deflects bullets. However, it's much more vulnerable to explosive damage and hazards. Poison Grenades in particular do heavily increased torpor to Meiolania, which can be used to knock it out. From there, it will require its preferred kibble or berries to feed. Attacks/Controls Bite - Primary (RT/Left Click) Meiolania extends its neck to bite the target, as a snapping turtle would. Has very little startup and damage comparable to a Spino, but with less AoE and a bit more cooldown. Can harvest bodies, but collects everything but meat from them. Also harvests fiber, berries, and primarily thatch from trees. Bypasses saddle armor. Withdraw - Secondary (LT/Right Click) Meiolania withdraws into its shell, granting it a 75% natural armor towards all affected attacks, and increasing health and stamina regeneration. Takes significantly more damage from explosives and torpor from Poison Grenades in this state. Bullets completely deflect off its shell, and auto turrets will not target it. Creatures will lose aggro after a certain amount of time, giving up their attempts to take Meiolania down. Rocket Spin - Tertiary (RS/C) whilst withdrawn and with Gasoline in Meiolania's inventory Meiolania begins spinning at rapid speeds via activating the thrusters on its saddle, damaging anything that touches it. Press again to stop spinning. This ability cannot activate underwater. Accelerate - Primary whilst rocket spinning Activates Meiolania's top thruster attached to the main platform, allowing for forward propulsion. Takes a bit of time to reach full speed, and not very effective at turning, but Meiolania's collisions will deal more damage the more it has accelerated. Meiolania will skim on the water's surface while spinning. Let go to stop propelling with the thruster. Rocket Boost - Secondary whilst spinning Using the same top thruster, Meiolania will launch in the desired direction with a short burst of speed. Helps with handling and collision damage, at the cost of burning through Gasoline quicker. Inspiration/References Bowser's Whirling Fortress - Super Smash Bros. Blastoise's Rapid Spin - Pokemon games/show
  4. (Rough doodle by Me) Pentaceratops, a massive ceratopsian with an even larger head. High health and high damage, this beast of a tame would allow its rider and anything behind it to go unscathed from the front, but remember to watch your rear as you would still be exposed to enemy attacks. Its heavily keratinized face allows P. imperialis to take little to no damage from attacks to its head, making it the perfect frontliner for a siege on a base or a boss fight. Along with this Pentaceratops could have a taunt like that of the magmasaur, drawing aggro so allies may finish off targets. Ability 1: Stance change As the name implies, this would be a stance change. Think something like how Amarga can change its spikes. These stances would be shown via a change in color on markings on its frill. Defensive Stance: Pentaceratops lowers its massive head, blocking incoming damage for the rider and any tames behind its massive frill. While in this stance its movement speed is greatly decreased, while its turning circle is reduced greatly, allowing it to keep its head to the enemy. Damage to the head in this stance would heal Pentaceratops for a fraction of what the damage value was, so keep that in mind when fighting these beasts. While in this stance its attacks would deal increased knockback and decreased damage, letting it create space for allies. Offensive Stance: Pentaceratops swings its head forward, its massive beak and horns ready to attack. In this stance Pentaceratops deals increased damage, but also takes increased damage, so use it sparingly. Movement speed in this stance is increased, with its turning circle being increased as well. Neutral Stance: No stat changes, base wild stance. Ability 2: Back Kick/180* swipe Since Pentaceratops woud be fairly vulnerable from behind, it only makes sense that it should have an answer to this. While in Defensive Stance, Pentaceratops would have a back kick. This attack would deal very little damage along with moderate knockback. While in Offensive Stance Pentaceratops gains a 180 degree swipe, this ability would have a significant cooldown as the drawback of offensive stance is the very wide turn radius, but would allow for Penta to get a pesky rex on its rear end if needed. This attack would deal heavy damage and perhaps apply a wound to the target. Ability 3: Taunt Pentaceratops lets out a loud roar, stamping its feet on the ground and shaking its massive frill in a threat display. This taunt would function like the magmasaur, drawing aggro to Penta so it or its allies can finish them off. Other Proposals; AKA Stuff I thought of but am iffy on Stomp: Would function like other stomps in the game, dealing high damage and some knockback. Indimidating roar: Much like Yutyrannus, this roar would scare off animals the same size and smaller than Penta. Platform Saddle: Maybe give it a platform saddle, I can live without this though.
  5. Name: Saichania Species: Saichania chulsanensis Temperament: Neutral Tameable: Yes Diet: Herbivorous Description: The Saichania has very thick skin that even polymer rifle bullets can't get through, it's the distant cousin of the Ankylosaurus but unlike its farming cousin, it's more for defense against most projectiles in ark. Ability: When Saichania's ability is activated, its spines start to grow and start to glow causing it to take a buff of 80% less damage from projectiles only and also reflecting projectiles back to their source and is also immune to net if his ability is active, but if it is not active the network will be able to paralyze him Ability 2: It begins to spin its tail for 2 or 3 seconds and when it hits it stuns the Dino, how the forward charge of the trike Requirements to activate your first ability: In order to use the Saichania's first ability, you need to have beer in your inventory. Taming method: In order to put Saichania to sleep, you need to use cannonballs or catapult ammunition and eat vegetable cake. Extra Information: Saichania's first ability can return any ammo that exists in the ark except nets, catapult ammo, ballista ammo, rocket launcher missiles, fire arrows, cannonballs, and harpoon ammo. Projectiles that the Saichania reflects will return to their point of origin with a small exception for turrets and tek turrets, if a turret is firing at the Saichania its bullet will bounce back to the player in sight or a dinosaur but it will be missed. will give the player more priority than an enemy dinosaur. And its mount, I thought it would be a good idea for it to be under the Saichania as if it were the gacha mount or also to be on one side of the Dino like the amargasaurus mount but with a reinforced cabin just like the andrewsarchus mount.
  6. Name: Argentinosaurus Huiculensis Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Dossier: Argentinosaurus is a tyrannosaurid sauropod accustomed to life among members of its own species, which means that it is more than prepared to face packs or groups of creatures that seek to disturb the peace of the enormous sauropod. Don't get to close if you don't want one of his legs on you. The Argentinosaurus Huiculensis specimen found on the ARK is slightly larger than usual, being the herbivore equivalent of the two largest predators on the ARK. Argentinosaurus has the ability to disarm coordinated attacks by dealing a strong whiplash with its tail to the enemy creature, causing enormous confusion and making it impossible to distinguish between a friendly creature and an enemy creature. Tameable: yes Rideable: yes Breedable: yes (same time as a Quetzal or Yuty) Abilities: -Primary attack: Just hit with one of his front legs (the leg who moves depends if the objective are at right or left) -Secundary Attack : Argentinosaurus will put in his back legs and charge a devastating hit with his front legs (while the creature is in his back legs he could move his body in 360° like the Spino) -"Pack predator counter" or special Attack : When two or more Argentinosaurus are in a same group the higher lever will be able to make a whip tail attack (like a pack leader buff) this will turn in a "rage effect" the first enemy predator that he hits for 10s, similar as the Giga Rage (this effect will make the Dino turn back and attack any thing in his visual camp, including ally creatures and riders, this ability was a cooldown of 80s). This "confusion" or "rage" effect can be activated on any carnivore creature. Armor: When Argentinosaurus gets a hit will auto activate his armor, this armor are the equivalent of a metal wall (hp10k). This very strong armor protect the Argentinosaurus from bleeding attacks and reduce the received damage in 20% (except proyectiles, explosives, turrets). This armor is an adaptation for his wild life style it means that his armor are not prepared for modern weapons. This armor can be destroyed/disabled with explosives and tek munition (turrets, tek rifles, tek grenades, etc). And only can be regenerated after 10min with no damage revived, if Argentinosaurus gets hit his armor regeration will stop. This armor could be represented as a blue light that covers the Argentinosaurus body with some shards of armor to complement the "illusion*of an armor Domesticated: To tame the Argentinosaurus fist we have to show our dominance. First we have to broke his armor, then reduce his health to 50% or less and then fire him with tranq darts until he gets unconscious, will need a great amount of it so prepare yourself. It is important to know that this creature needs to stay close to other Argentinosaurus for at least 1 hour every 48 hours, if these requirements are not met, the probability that the Argentinosaurus will not pay attention to your commands will increase. (commands such as attack, mate or follow) If this point is reached, it is enough to bring the Argentinosaurus closer to another member of its same species, after which a 2-hour countdown will appear, if the Argentinosaurus remains accompanied during this time it will once again be obedient to your orders. Saddle: (CONCEPT IN THE COMMENTS) Argentinosaurus platform saddle will count hit a protected "cabin" for the rider and a turret in the middle for the saddle that can be used by another survivor, this "cabin" protects the rider from being dismounted (as the Andrewsarchus). Can be learned at level 95 and will have a cap armor in 75 Wild lvl 1 and lvl 150 stats: HP: 5500 - 15000 aprox Stamina: 300 - 1200 aprox Oxigen: 400- 800 aprox Food: 6670 - 15700 aprox Weight: 800 - 2300 aprox Melee: 100 - 270 aprox Speed movement: 100 - 100
  7. The Dracorex is a new Creature to be introduced in Ark Survival Ascended. This Creature is roughly the size of a Utahraptor and has unique skills and abilities unlike anything you’ve seen before, I have decided on the Dracorex as my Creature submission to add some more variety among the Dinos. We have only the 1 Pachycepholosaurid in ark and it’s pretty.. lacklustre, This new Beast and its taming method and abilities are in my opinion some of the Strangest and coolest that there is! Additionally, The Dracorex’s name means “Dragon king” what better nickname for a creature introduced in a fantasy map? Habitat: The Dracorex Can be found Both in and outside The Dragon Trench on Ragnarok, Either inside the trench itself, or around the outer area of the Dragon trench often appearing in pairs or by themselves. Diet: These Beast are Herbivores munching on any berrys and seeds. Temperament: Docile, they’ll chill out with you and won’t attack, unless provoked by attacking them, their friends or by stealing their eggs. Taming method: this is where the fun begins, and where the name, “Dragon king” starts to shine, to tame a Dracorex first you must find and isolate one from any other nearby Dracorex. Then. You must drop a Wyvern egg of any of the 4 Core elements Fire, Lightning, Poison, ice, The Dracorex will then Smash open the egg by ramming into it, Destroying the egg and absorbing the element of the dragon egg through its many horns on its face. The higher level the Egg is your Dracorex smashes the Higher its Taming bar will rise. Taming effectiveness is determined by how much Damage Your Dracorex has sustained, so keep it safe! Depending on what type of eggs you let it smash. and how many of them for example 6 poison Eggs and 2 fire eggs then your Dracorex will gain the “Poison Element” and Become a “Poison Dracorex”. With the powers of a poison Wyvern, it can blast Poison clouds from its horns. With the powers of a fire Wyvern, it basically becomes a living Flamethrower, with the powers of an Ice Wyvern it can Freeze Oppenents with a steam of cold air from its nostrils. And With the powers of a lightning Wyvern can shoot a stream of lighting from its horns. the basic idea of the Dracorex (Dragon king) is that it can basically mimic the powers of the dragons, but in a smaller and more compact body, making this Dino Really useful for base defence and cave Exploration and once tamed, you can let it smash any more Wyvern eggs by enabling “Egg smashing” in the Behaviour section, where it will smash any Wyvern egg in a nearby radius. Upon smashing say, 3 eggs of any element of your choosing it will change the Dracorexs element to match the eggs it has smashed, so your not locked into any 1 element once tamed. in terms of speed, the Dracorex can run roughly as fast as a Smilodon or Raptor, building up speed as it sprints, stamina barely drains as it sprints too, so it can easily go long Distances. Once you’ve reached top speed, you can use the Primary attack button to instantly destroy all obstacles in your path, Trees boulders you name it. The Dracorex is also able to use this Headbutt to deal major damage to Structures, it Can Damage up to metal grade, through it admittedly won’t take too much health out of metal structures. But anything Stone grade or below and your in for a bad (or good) time due to the Dracorex’s status of “Dragon king” it takes Half the amount of damage from All Wyvern/dragon attacks. (Including the Dragon boss) additionaly, when riding the Dracorex all wild Wyverns will ignore you unless provoked. The Dracorex also does Double Damage to all Wyverns, Rex’’s, Gigas and Charcaradontosaurus to solidify its place as “King” And you can ride around on the Dracorex without the need for a saddle. But you can Craft “Dracorex armour” from Wyvern bones. Which can be Harvested from dead wyverns. This Armour is bone Like in Appearance and Reduces all Damage from all creatures and players. but like Player Armour it has Durabilty and will need to be fixed with more dragon bones once Damaged or broken. The Dracorex also comes with “Recoil” effect, Similar to Kentrosaurus, where attacking it from the front will cause the spikes on its face to damage all those who make contact. Baby Dracorex will have the same element as their parents. If you breed a lighting Dracorex and a fire Dracorex, you’ll get a Fire/Lighting Dracorex. Which has both the powers of a Fire and Lighting Dracorex. With you being able to choose which elements you want to use while in the Radial Wheel either while riding the Dracorex or when just opening the Radial wheel when standing next to the Dracorex and looking at it. Please Consider this Herbivorous Powehouse to be added to ARK! We need more strong Herbivores and I think the Dracorex is Perfect for the job
  8. Wild: If there is one Dinosaur That i would describe as the perfect mother to all creatures, its Maiasaura makuahine. This Hadrosaur is a very caring creature to all of the babies of the ark even those of carnivorus predators. Maiasaura will care for any baby creature as if it was her own forming a bond that would last a life time!! it would even go as far as to defend any baby dinosaur should there one be in danger putting its motherly instincts at full force against the babies attacker. it bonds with any baby whether they be wild or tribe raised making some tribes let Maiasaura raise their babies to gain her trust. Domesticated: Maisasaura is a must have for tribes in need of raising large amounts of baby creatures for their tribe. Maiasaura will naturally imprint on any baby creature of your tribe feeding it and imprinting it as it grows!! Babies that Maiasaura fully imprints will also be slightly stronger that babies that survivors have imprinted making Maiasaura an absoulute neccessity for tribes who want to raise the strongest tames!! Abilities: Left Click: Thumb Jab Right Click: Bite C Key: Motherly Call: Calls any babies wild or tamed to Maiasaura. This also decreases the amount of food babies need to eat for a period of time Passives: Feeding: Maiasaura will feed any baby dinosaur in a radius as long as she has food in their inventory Imprinting: Maiasaura will imprint any creatures in a certain radius. Any baby creature that is fully imprinted by Maiasaura will be much stronger than survivor imprinted creatures
  9. The megacerops is a prehistoric rhino closely related to a horse surprisingly, which has been found by many palaeontologists over the years. It had a pair of blunt horns unlike our present day rhinos. So why have another rhino in ark? Well the woolly rhino is well as the name suggests woolly so I think it would be nice to have a variety of non woolly and woolly rhinos and for right now the paracer is the only thing related to rhinos, like how ankylosaurs are related to stegosaurs, plus the game needs more mammals so I think this would be a great addition to ark. Size: the megacerops was 2.5m tall and 4.6m long compered to the woolly rhinos size being 1.6 tall and 4m long Sorry I could not find an accurate size comparison of the woolly rhino. here is some pictures of the megacerops. Taming method: to tame the megacerops you must sneak up behind it and feed it berries or superior, exceptional or extraordinary kibble then you have to ride it, hunt down and kill carnivorous creatures to gain trust (omnivores can work) and once you kill enough you have your very own megacerops. Abilities: the megacerops has a wide variety of ability's which is listed here below. (1) a standard headbutt. (2) a charge dealing high damage to players and dinos. (3) when the megacerops uses this ability it tilts its head close to the ground and starts running wile it does it scoops up rocks from the ground with its large horns and after 10 seconds a small bolder is formed (the bolder begins to form when you start the ability) that weighs down the megacerops but can be launched dealing high damage to players, dinos and structures, if you charge into a player, structure or dino the bolder will break and deal more damage than the standard charge (the larger the bolder the more damage it deals but the less range it has). (4) megacerops will slightly crouch while tilting its head to take further reduced damage to the head by 30%, making its total reduced damage 45% to the head when crouched. (5) megacerops will passively take reduced weight for metal, stone, obsidian, crystal, flint and rockets. (6) megacerops will passively take 15% reduced damage to the head from projectiles. (7) when lower than 20% Hp the megacerops goes on an adrenaline rush and gain red eyes similar to the gigas rage mode, which kicks the rider of and makes the megacerops take 20% reduced damage and deal 15% more damage. while active the megacerops will deal damage to you, your tribe and your allies if you get to close to the attacks but it will focus on taking down anything that deals damage to it. Farming: the megacerops is efficient at gathering wood, thatch, berries, fibber and fungal wood and is decant at gathering cactus sap, rare flower and rare mushroom. Saddle: the megacerops has a standard hide saddle as well as a metal saddle which has a rocket launcher attached to it. I hope you like my submission .
  10. The mantellisaurus is the iguanodons larger cousin , mantellisaurus size is almost up to the Allosaurus size . It would seem the mantellisaurus would seem to have 2 tendril like whiskers at the end of it's snout , kind similar to a couple other creatures . (I'm talking about the whiskers you would see on a catfish or an Oriental dragon) . I believe it uses these tendrils to search for foods . Mantellisaurus spiked thumbs seem much thicker than the iguanodons spiked thumbs , well thick enough to break apart rocks . It is very useful in gathering Flint but very little stone . Mantellisaurus is tamed by passively feeding it corn believe it or not
  11. Diet: Herbivore Behavior: Neutral Dossier: Wild: Megalonyx is a gentle ground sloth that lives throughout the forests and tundras of this Ark. But don't be fooled by its gentle nature. If provoked, the Megalonyx will relentlessly defend itself with its long, sharp claws, swinging them in a wide arc in front of itself. The Megalonyx can also has a wide arsenal of abilities such as picking up creatures and slaming them into the ground, throwing volleys of small stones, and a powerful spear tackle. The most formidable ability in the Megalonyx’s arsenal is the ability to enter a defensive stance, standing on its hind legs and raising its front legs defensively like a boxer. If hit, it will retaliate with a powerful counterattack. Domesticated: If you manage to tame a Megalonyx, you will find yourself with a powerful brawler at your disposal. Clever use of the Megalonyx’s block and counter ability will allow you to take down even the strongest of creatures. The Megalonyx can even deflect projectiles with the counterattack, even bullets! Alas, the Megalonyx will stagger if you attempt to block a Guardian or Overseer’s attacks, absorbing the damage but being incapable of counterattacking. The Megalonyx would be slightly larger than a megatherium and would live in forests and snow biomes throughout Ragnarok. Taming method: Attack the Megalonyx and get it to enter its blocking stance. When it is in its blocking stance approach it and feed it, which will give taming and have it exit its blocking stance. Repeat until tamed. Abilities: Requires a saddle to ride. Left click| Claw Swing: The Megalonyx swings its claws in a wide arc in front of it. This attack has powerful knock back and inflicts deinonychus-style bleed. Good at harvesting wood and fiber. Hold Left click| Spear Tackle: While holding down left click, a bar above your hot bar will start to fill. If you release when full (it charges fast) the Megalonyx will do a spear tackle forward, dealing 2x the damage of the claw swing. Right click| Block Stance: The Megalonyx will stand on its hind legs and raise its front arms defensively like a boxer. If it is hit, it will swing its arms down in a counterattack, dealing extra damage based on how powerful the blocked hit was and has powerful knock back. If a melee attack was blocked, it will take 90% reduced damage from the attack blocked. If a ranged attack was blocked, it will deal no damage to the Megalonyx and the projectile will be reflected at the shooter, this includes spines, arrows, and even bullets! You cant walk in this stance, but you can turn to face different directions. If you attempt to block a boss’s or titan’s attack it will stagger the Megalonyx and it will not perform a counterattack or reflect projectiles, but it will still reduce the damage taken by 90%. The Megalonyx can stay in block stance for 10 seconds before being forced to leave it. Hitting the button again will end the ability prematurely and make it return to normal stance. The block stance has a 20 second cooldown. C| Pickup Slam: The Megalonyx will quickly reach out its arm and grab creatures up to a thyla’s size and proceed to slam them into the ground, dealing about half the damage of the claw swing and applying a debuff that reduces their damage and movement speed by 50%. Ctrl| Stone Throw: The Megalonyx will grab a small stone off the ground and throw it with about arrow like velocity and range. The Megalonyx must stop moving to use this attack. Can continue to throw stones repeatedly if Ctrl is held down. I hope you like the idea. I made sure the Megalonyx was not too similar to the only current ground sloth in Ark, the megatherium. Reply with some suggestions to improve it. 12. Hello surviors i would like to introduce you to the Eotriceratops. The Eotriceratops is a strong mid game tame but could also be used later game. This ceratopcyan is larger then more famous counterpart the triceratops. Unlike the triceratops this creature dosen't have as much bulk despite being larger, but it is made up for with the Eotriceratops increased damage. WILD - When wild the Eotriceratops is a calm and gentle creature but if you get on its bad side they'll be hell to pay. The eotriceratops will remember your survivor and when spotted will go out of its way to ruin your day. When in its herd of 2-4 they have a increased defensive bonus that scales the more eotriceratops are in the herd, the defensive bonus you gain stops increasing at 4 eotriceratops. With this buff and their good memory if given time to prepare the eotriceratops may lay siege on your tribe in order to settle a score in an envision type event. TAMED - When tamed the Eotriceratops are very loyal and noble creatures that will risk their own life in order to save their master for they see them as part of the herd. The buff they receive in the wild still applies to when tamed, making them a formidable ally for your tribe and with the ability to dig up the ground and pick up boulders and fallen logs and use them as weapons to fend off foes makes them a strong offense dino. The Eotriceratops will also have a stomp ability where they rear up on their back legs and slam back down in a powerful attack that blows back opponents and stuns them briefly. And with the passive ability called "Protection" You are protected from all those dismounting creatures such as the Microraptor or Thylacoleo. When immense danger is uppon its master and the eotriceratops is below 6% health and almost dead it will pull the agro of the attacking creature, fighting till the end in order to save its masters life. TAMING - There are two taming methods for the Eotriceratops one being where you passively feed it honey because these big creatures have a sweet tooth. But feeding it honey will also send it into a hyper frenzy and it will try to attack you in order to get more honey from you. The second method is you have to jump onto the back of the eotriceratops and try to tame it down by showing your dominance almost like the equus or andrewsarchus but to do it this way you must kill the other eotriceratops or they will attack you off and ruin your taming. CREATORS NOTE - Even if i dont get in top ten i had a fun time designing this creature to help the survivors conquer the world of ragnarok and i hope you all had a fun time reading it!
  13. Dossier Species: Styracosaurus Fortitudo Wild: I have heard tales of the Styrachosaurus during my travels through the desert, and having encountered a heard of them in the wild I can safely say that the stories are all true. This ceratopsid, despite being smaller than Triceratops, is remarkably strong and hardy! I've seen a juvinile dislodge a fallen rock three times its size to unblock a stream, knock over tree for a morning snack, and even overturn a small house just to get to the roots under the foundation, nothing seems to slow this stocky creature down! Even local predators seem to stay clear, out of fear of getting gored on its enlongated nasal horn, or perhaps this animal's mere presance is enough to encourage them to give this otherwise docile herbivore a wide berth? Domesticated: They may be short in stature, but their high weight tolerance and strong will make them ideal companions for hauling resources through the hot sands of this hellscape. Their spiky horns are a natural repeleant for smaller predators, and even if a battle was not avoidable it is more than capable of holding its own. The only downside to taming a Styracosaurus i would say, is... Cleaning up the mess after said battle. Be it rain, sun, or sandstorm, Styracosaurus is loyal to the very end. Taming: Interstingly, the styracosaurus in the wild is surprisibly shy around humans. But they can be swayed with its favorite food of Cacti. although you can knock it out if the need arises, though Survivors have seen much more sucess simply by hand feeding the animal. Just don't make any sudden moves, less you frighten it away. In game: Yes I know there's already a Skin (and a mod) for Styracosaurus. But Two things. Firstly We don't know if the model for said skin is even going to be in the remaster, or what skins will make it over at all for that matter. And Two, I'm yet to see any word that Kraken will port over their mod to the remaster. and even if they did we still got issue one to deal with in the fact we might not have the OG model to work with anymore. So I'm making this suggestion for the vote (doubt it will get far, kiddos don't like herbivores). My idea for Styracosaurus is for it to have an absurd amount of weight reduction, As I'm not entirely sure if anything in Scorched earth has it... and if there is then there's not many of them. It will also have a Charge attack like the Trike, but ublike our three horned friend, Styracosaurus will inflict bleed instead of knockback. This will become more potent on larger foes, and because why not it can also stack. It will be ridable, but the majority of its stats will be less than that of trikes, even being smaller in size. And as the dossier suggests, it's a passive tame, it will feed on cacti (or just the sap if not possible to add a new plant) to soften up to the one taming it, but survviors can't run or have too high movement speed or else it will scamper off, it CAN be knocked out (and tamed though such means like the diplo) but it will aggro if attacked. Also, I'd like to add that we have only TWO ceratopsians, in a game that has an unhealthy obsession with carnivore submissions that either "HAVE TO BE BIGGER THAN T-REX luls", Are identical to another creature, or already ARE a well known modded creature. We already had like 4 carnivores added in a row, let the veggi eaters have a turn in the spotlight.
  14. Wild living in the grasslands of ragnarok lives a behemoth of a creature about as big as pacer if not a little taller the Columbian mammoth is truly a sight to behold. large and certainly in charge the Columbian mammoth can defend itself from most threats including an adult rex. Columbian mammoth despite being herbivores seem to have a gene to enable quick healing meaning many large bulls i find have scars from surviving attack from predators unlike other herbivores of the ark Columbian mammoth see humans as threats and will trample them on sight which makes very difficulty to research and study them without have an angry 22,000 lbs of mammoth charging at you. despite this temperament to survivors they don't seem to mind the company of other herbivores long as they mind there space. Domesticated-one crazy survivor had an idea a sort of phiomia suit to blend in with the other herbivores and get close to the Columbian mammoth to throw down food to gain its trust once it is feed enough it will know your not a threat and allow you to take off the suit however don't get too close as they tend to not enjoy find a spy in their herd. once tamed tribes finds a a excellent war mount able to go toe to toe with the like of rex and stay in battle for a decent amount of time as well. some tribes increase the deadly of these brutes by giving them armor and towers to do even more damage in combat. Columbian mammoth bellow causes creatures to gain incased armor and fight for longer. thes creature are worthy for any warlord or tribe looking for a large defender for your tribe
  15. The massive goose-relative is a force to be reckoned with. Boasting high health, water buff and speed, and a simple passive taming, Diatryma is a perfect early to mid game mount. In real life, Gastornis was a titanic herbivorous bird from Europe. Think dodo and terror bird combined. It had an extremely powerful beak, perhaps for breaking food or fighting off predatory creodonts. DIATRYMA Species: Gastornis parisiensis Time: Early Eocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Aggresive Wild These large flightless birds rival even the Therizinosaurs is herbivore ferocity. At a glance, the diatryma cam be confused for the terror bird. However, the diatryma is not only larger and herbivorous, it also seems to show many similarities to ducks and geese. Domesticated These birds are surprisingly effective on the water, where they spend much of their time. They aren't as home in the sea as Pelagornis or Hesperornis, but they can still paddle along at great speeds. On land they are relatively slow and cumbersome. They male for nice tanks though, due to their bulky build. Diatryma beaks are extremely powerful. I've estimated that it could crack a coconut. This is actually not surprising for an herbivore, as ceratopsians possess bone-crushing bites as well. --- In the Wild - Diatryma spawn in around redwoods, coastal waters, and occasionally jungles. In the wild they aggro onto any carnivore that attacks it, and anything from Raptor tier or higher will want to eat this goose. Taming - The diatryma are passive tames, but with a twist; they hate you and want you dead. They have an aggro range slightly larger than a Theri's. When you approach, don't bother with ghillie or crouching. When aggroed onto a player, to will run (or swim) up and preform a set of screeches for about 8 seconds. Only in this time, you can quickly feed it and rereat from its aggro range. To slow, and it will truly aggro and tear you up. When it us ready to feed again it will start stamping its foot (or doing backflips if in water), so keep an eye on it from a safe distance. Process must be repeated until tamed. Riding - Diatryma require saddles to ride. It's saddle is unlocked at level 50. Food - The Diatryma is of course herbivorous. For taming it can take Superior Kibble, crops, or berries. It can harvest corpses when tamed, however. In the Water - After touching water, the Diatryma will get a 30 second Hydration Buff that operates like a Spino's, giving buffs to speed, damage, and health regen. The Diatryma is a speedy water creature, but retains an oxygen bar. Thankfully, it has very high oxygen, so in most cases you won't need to worry about taking this duck for a five. Tank - This creature has average/low speed and turn radius on land. It's high health stat for its tier of creature makes is an ideal tank for fighting enemies from Dilos to Allos; its melee stats are reasonable as well, not pathetic like some tanks. Appearance - The Diatryma is around twice the height of a survivor. It is very bulky as well, a bit like a Theri. In the wild its feathers are usually dull colors like brown, reddish brown, black, or dark grey, with little variation. Their eggs are Medium-sized and are colored blue with black specks. Ants - A hidden ability; the Diatryma deals double damage to Titanomyrma and Rhyniognatha. They are also immune to poisoning from the two.
  16. Good afternoon, survivors! After stumped on what to do for this contest, me and a fellow 'Retrosaur' loving friend have imagined the perfect counter to that pesky airborne virus that plagues the safe zones of every map.. May I present the wonderful, splendid looking and immaculately moisturized hadrosaur.. THE ANATOSAURUS! This is a concept of how I imagine the Anatosaurus to look like. Forum restrictions have butchered the quality though so apologies *A full dossier of the Anatosaurus is a work in progress* The Hadrosaurs are a family of dinosaurs that I hold close to my heart, and as an enjoyer of older depictions of these animals I thought that ARK could really do with another duckbill in its roster - and especially one with a twist like this.. Dossier Common Name: Anatosaurus Species: Anatosaurus hiruphagus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Omnivore Temperament: Neutral (Aggressive towards bug repellant) Wild: An oddity amongst its relatives the Anatosaurus behaves in a manner completely unlike ARK’s other ornithopods. They are native to the steamy swamps of Ragnarok’s southern quarter and possess an amphibious lifestyle, spending their days happily grazing upon aquatic vegetation and occasionally dousing their slimy bodies in mud to protect against the harsh sun. Coincidentally this behavior also acts as a form of medication, covering over open wounds and cleaning them of debris. This however is largely irrelevant, as at full maturity an Anatosaurus is too large to fall prey to predators with the exception of a lucky Sarcosuchus. Herds of Anatosaurus will often slumber peacefully upon riverbanks, their unique odor attracting droves of flies and other nasty insects. It is to be noted however that whilst a predominantly herbivorous creature an Anatosaur will never pass down an opportunity to devour its favourite treat, leeches - a craving that swamp dwelling survivors have learned to use in their favor. Domesticated: Due to their apparent disdain of bug-repelling gel, the act of taming an Anatosaurus is one fit for only the most daring of survivors. These strengthened few have been documented allowing leeches to suck onto them and then wading around until one of the hadrosaurs is drawn to the scent. With one of the parasites latched onto their body the survivor will find soon themselves in the clutches of a hungry hadrosaur, eager to lap down their offering. It is a lengthy process, but by no means is it worthless. Once tamed, Anatosaurus can make for robust beasts of burden within the territory of a developing tribe. Their use as a mount both above and below the water allows them to be utilized in a variety of tasks, namely aqueous foraging and exploration. Whilst not impeccably fast nor strong the hadrosaurs are capable of dealing with a variety of threats by either being steered by their jockey to fight, or to simply flee into the nearest lake or river and make an escape. However the most notable service an Anatosaurus can provide is, oddly enough, its viscous saliva, the production of which can be manipulated upon the animal's consumption of silica pearls. This fluid can, in moderation, be used as a stand in for leech blood in the production of the lesser antidote - an item of high demand in populous areas. Due to the potential obscurity of the ingame dossier, I feel it is best to formally chronicle Anatosaurus' taming method and usage here. TAMING Not unlike recent additions to the game the method of taming an Anatosaurus is quite different than your standard "knock-out-and -feed" creature. The way the player goes about obtaining this buffalo-like beast is quite engaging, as it requires a fairly coordinated plan as to not perish in the swamp's murky waters. Anatosaurus is by default a neutral creature, however in the presence of a player wearing bug repellant it will quickly grow to become hostile. This is because in order to gain its trust, you must feed the hadrosaur its favourite treat - the disgusting leeches - and to do so you must let the parasites latch onto you. With a leech (or multiple) on you, any Anatosaurus within a certain vicinity will grow attracted and make their way over. They will then reach forward and pick up the player and pluck the leech(es) off of you, before dropping you to the ground and carrying on. The more leeches on you, the more the taming bar increases, and proportionally as does the cooldown between feedings. Similar to other passive tames if the hadrosaur happens to take any creature or player induced damage then the bar will reset, however their large size does make it so that usual swamp life such as Titanoboa and Kaprosuchus rarely bother going after them. They will be attracted to you, though.. STATISTICS Since it is ultimately the devs' decision in case I hit a stroke of luck and get voted through I will not be going over specifics in stats for the Anatosaurus. I will provide a rough estimation made by my friend for it's base stats and spawn rates however, but take this with a grain of salt. (Stats at Level 1) Health - 500 Stamina - 200 Oxygen - 400 Food - 2500 Weight - 300 (Spawns) Only in swamps with a rate of 1 every 40 minutes. Doesn't get targetted by swamp animals with the exception of Sarcos but will be attacked by other non-swamp life upon getting close to them. USAGE Anato is all around a fairly decent mount that will serve a middle game tribe quite well in the exploration department. Its running speed is slightly slower than fellow ornithopod Iguanodon, however it burns through stamina much quicker. In the water however the Anatosaurus is capable of swimming around as fast as the Baryonyx, and its stamina consumption is decreased immensely. As for combat, it is the epitome of average. If need be an Anato can defend itself from smaller threats and is by no means defenseless, but when it comes to a pack of Allos or other larger theropod it is best to steer clear. It is because of this reason that it is advisable to stick within a brisk sprint to a water source to make an escape if nescessary. Anato would also possess two mouse abilities; a simple arm swipe tied to LMB, and a pick up for RMB. Now, onto Anatosaurus' main three abilities; the serendipitous slobber, carrying and its skin care rituals. MUD BATH Being an amphibious creature it made sense to give this Anato the ability to coat itself in wet sediment to give itself the aptly named 'Mud' buff. Preferably requiring you to be standing on ground close to water, an Anatosaurus can be whistled to give itself a luxurious dousing of mud that will temporarily grant it a 50% resistance to bleed as well as increased healing. The buff will last around 5 minutes at most and have a 10 minute cooldown in order to even it out. This ability will give it just that little bit more protection out in the field, plus you cannot lie that it fits the whole rompin' stompin' aura that this hadrosaur emits. When mounted this ability can be activated with at default the C key, and will grant the player a temporary heat resistance buff - the perfect dino to cool down on a hot summers' day! One thing to be noted however is that this mud coating will wear off as soon as you enter water. This is to encourage land exploration with the buff active. ANTIDOTAL SALIVA Have you ever logged in to a server only to find the spawn zones plagued with beach bobs spreading Swamp Fever to every last person who enters? Ever wished that there was a way to make the tedious process that comes with making the antidote.. A little less so? Well, those days are no more with a tamed Anatosaurus in your tribe! Due to living in one of the most revolting places known to man the Anatosaurus has grown unbothered with the mere concept of infections, and its craving for leeches has made it immune to the nasty pathogens found in the parasites' systems. It is because of this that the hadrosaur is a living cure for the scourge of Swamp Fever. It's bodily fluids are revered by tribes due to their medicinal properties, and its saliva in particular, which can be harvested from a tamed Anato's inventory roughly 10 seconds after feeding it a proportional number of silica pearls, which is placed in the hotbar and fed with "E". The cooldown is short, about 30 seconds. It is to be noted that high level Anatos require more pearls whilst low levels require less, so fairly standard. This saliva can be used as a substitute for leech blood in the recipe of lesser antidote vials, making the Anatosaurus an impeccably useful tame even long after its days of exploration are over in an apex level tribe. CARRYING Tying in to its use as an exploration mount the Anatosaurus possesses the charming ability to pick up smaller creatures and even certain structures in its webbed hands and bring them along on your escapades! Of course there is a limit for both, with the largest creature able to be carried being the player, and for structures it is the small item box. This means that the Anato would be useful as a means to set up temporary camps along your routes, or even assist in the moving of small tames and storage from one base spot to another. Whilst (hopefully) self explanatory, I thought I'd disclose the fact that when holding an object/creature, the Anatosaurus will not be able to use its LMB swipe attack. THANK YOU FOR READING! This submission WILL recieve minor updates in the coming days, but I hope you like this unique take on a (relatively) obscure dinosaur!
  17. Introducing Diictodon audax! Common Name: Diictodon Scientific Name: Diictodon audax Time: Late Permian Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial WILD: I keep thinking I know just about every species present on the ARK's, and yet in the case of Diictodon audax, there still may just be some surprises still under our noses. Diictodon are almost entirely fossorial, living a vast majority of their lives under the ground in colonies, searching for roots and tubers to feed on. Though most colonies I have found in some of the more drier climates of the ARK, I have been told by survivors that they will settle in any area that has access to crops, where harvests will begin to show a lighter yield than anticipated. Don't let their size fool you however, Diictodon are ferociously territorial and will stand their ground, putting on quite the display that I've seen disorient and frighten most would be predators! Though it must be said, their bark is certainly worse than their bite. DOMESTICATED: I've seen a few methods survivors use to befriend local colonies, however the most common method, dubbed "Diictodon Fishing", luring individuals to the surface with treats and pets. Those of us more impatient have also resorted to more 'explosive' methods of flushing, which albeit efficient, can yield unforeseen consequences if not careful. A Diictodon colony make great additions to any tribes farmhouse. Their knack of the organizational skills mixed with the constant aeration of soil from burrowing allow for crop yield and quality to significantly increase over time, as long as you are willing to share the fruits of your labour of course. I have also seen tribes utilize some of the colonies bolder individuals as a great guard dogs to deter any would be attackers getting to close for comfort. Though they may be good at putting on a show, its best not to stick around, lest the Diictodon's charm begins to wear. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love a new ferocious predator being introduced to ARK as much as the next person, however I am always keen to see new and unique ideas introduced to expand on some of Ark's less focused features. One of which is farming, which admittedly tends to be something that I will usually forget about most play throughs, with times that I do thinking its a chore to work on. This has influenced my design of introducing Diictodon to ARK, with an extra bit of flair to improve overall utility! Summary: To explain what my concept for introducing Diictodon into ARK: -Diictodon colonies spawn as burrows that can be interacted with (think of it as like a structure similar to the beehive in the overworld). -Multiple Diictodon can spawn in a burrow, with the lowest level individual inside usually being the main interactable member. -These "Alphas" will yap, scream and snap at any individuals that come close to their burrow. This will deter most creatures at a certain drag weight to be frightened off or at least deterred from going closer. This behaviour is inspired by many burrowing animals of today, specifically Lemmings that are surprisingly aggressive against anything that approaches their burrows that could be considered a threat. -To tame the Alpha that has been spooked back into their den, the main taming method would involved a survivor placing their arm into the opening of the burrow with a preferred food item on the 0 key, then once successful at luring one to the top, a minigame can play out similar to the fishing minigame to tame your Diictodon. This idea is a bit of a stretch but is based off Noodling, a fishing method practiced by catching hiding catfish by luring and catching them with your bare hands. -Alternatively, a grenade can be placed inside of the burrow to flush out multiple to specifically select your preferred members to tame passively. However expect major resistance from some very upset residents. Again, this idea influenced by another method; Dynamite fishing. -Tamed Diictodon will have two key roles: FARM HAND: Tamed Diictodon can establish new colonies, with these colonies having a radius of influence, depending on the number of members inside. Any crop plots inside of this radius will have similar effects to greenhouse, with the added benefit of helping harvesting. which can be then collected from the main burrow. (Since these individuals will be primarily underground, it wouldn't make sense for them to be able to access a feeding trough, so be sure to leave your workers a little food!). GUARD DOG: As a shoulder mount, you will receive a passive buff from your Diictodon that will work similar to a mix of the Sinamacrops scare and a Ghillie Suit. Smaller aggressive creatures will avoid you whereas larger predators will have a smaller aggression radius. If you have any suggestions as to what you think should be changed or improved, please don't hesitate to share your thoughts! I always appreciate clever ideas being brought up by this amazing community. Do I expect the Diictodon to win? No not at all sadly, however, its always a great time thinking up unique ideas to introduce some amazing animals into this wonderful game! Thanks for reading and happy voting! 😊 Credit for both images goes to Walking with Monsters (2005) by Impossible Pictures.
  18. Hippopotamus Gorgops is an extinct species of Hippopotamus that was around in the late Pliocene but went extinct in the middle Pleistocene. They were 14 feet long and almost 7 feet tall, With a weight of almost 10,000 pounds. Taming: Hippopotamus Gorgops can be found in rivers and lakes on Ragnarok, In small rare herds of 1-3 who are very aggressive, So you will need to pacify them with giant amounts of crops. If you don't and try to knock them out right away, They will enter an enraged state and charge at you with violent speeds. Gorgops need to have large amounts of crops so they can trust you, Then you can give them small doses of narcotics inbetween feedings of large crops, Then once knocked out they will passively tame, Digesting the food but it will take a long time. Abilities: They have very hard and durable skin and bones, As well as a bite that lets them grab and thrash creatures who stand in their way. They are also very agile in the water, Being able to glide on the riverbeds with ease, As well as swim with good speeds. They can harden their skin, Giving them a sort of armor plate on their back, While decreasing their damage and speed because of the energy lost. Attacks: Bite, Grab, and Stomp.
  19. Gastonia is an Ankylosaur but unlike your typical one, Gastonia lack's the iconic clubbed tail but instead it's body was covered in spikes to act as a good mix of defense and offense, for the case of ARK this herbivore would be unable to harvest metal and such like the Anky, but would be larger in size and more aggressive with attacks such as a tackle and a tail swipe to make it's opponents bleed. In the game one ability idea I had is that it's tackling rocks in order to find flint to sharpen it's spikes (this would provide a temporary buff to it for it's damage), but it doesn't like it when someone invades it's personal space but get's particularly mad when facing large predators or packs of predators which makes it harder to kill and causes it to be stronger. It's spikes also have the ability to pierce armor so watch out when confronting these thorny juggernauts from the Cretaceous! Carryable by: Queztal & Rhyniognatha Base Stats: HP: 700 Stamina: 475 Weight: 650 Damage: 57 (Tackle), 36 (Tail swipe) Debuff's: Bleed (tackle and tail swipe) Weight reduction: Flint: 50% Thatch: 25% Wood: 15% Harvest Rates: Flint: 5/5 Thatch: 5/5 Wood: 3/5 Berries: 4/5 Stone: 1/5 Can destroy: thatch, wood and stone Wild: The sheer oddities of this island never cease to amaze me, but a recent encounter with Gastonia burgei has shown that Ankylosaurids can be ill-tempered. Gastonia burgei is far larger then one's that have been discovered, but this species has got a bad temper as it doesn't like anyone invading it's personal space with the exception of Ankylosaurus crassacutis being the only one's it will tolerate. The spikes of the Gastonia appear to be razor sharp as they leave behind deep wounds onto an attacker to make them bleed, but they seem to seek out flint to grind their spikes against to sharpen them for more damage, even going as far as to tackle boulders to find flint. Because of their ill-temper and spikes, most predators prefer to leave Gastonia alone unless they are desperate or hungry enough to challenge it, I've even seen a pack of Utahraptor's get disposed of quickly as the creature get's stronger when facing packs or large carnivores. Domesticated: Domestication of Gastonia burgei is a difficult process given their power and temper, but they have proven to be a "workhorse" for any tribe. The creatures fondness for flint has made it a common sight within quarries and as a defender. For any war fairing tribe, they've employed Gastonia's spikes to weaken their foes with it's bleeding capabilities and how the spikes can pierce right through armor. I've even been told that roars that are meant to intimidate this creature have shown to do the exact opposite and instead only serve to tick it off and make it stronger.
  20. Megalochelys: Info Name: Megalochelys' Diet: Herbivore Aggresion: Docile Timeperiod: Late Miocene-middle plesitocene Taming: Passive Megalochelys (great turtle) is one off the biggest tortoises that have existed. Turtles/tortoises is my favorite type off animal and as much as I like the carbonemys it feels like it can be done something more with a turtle tame. Dossier: Wild: The Megalochelys is a huge and heavly armourd creature and don`t realy seem to notice or care about the predators around it. It spends most off it`s days wandring in look for food and water in the harsh desert landskape it inhabit. Even tho it`s behavior might seem to indicate that the Megalochelys is to passive or oblivius to fight back this could not be further from the truth. In the rare occasions where this behemoth actualy feels threatened it will charge into battle using it`s huge weight to crush it`s opponent and in this instant thats not a figure off speech. Contrary to it`s weight and size Megalochelys can pick up incredeble speed.. well for a tortoise atlest. Domesticated: The tribes I have meet that have been abel to domesticate one off these behemoth has found a lot off ways to make use off it`s abillites. Plenty off tribes use Megalochelys as a beast off burden as it`s defensive nature attracts few if any predators. And in the case of a ambush from another tribe they have thougt Megalochelys to simply shut it`s shell close to keep all tools and materials safe. These tribes usly need to find ways to bye pass most water ways as like other tortoises Megalochelys aren`t effective swimmer. But this is far from the most bizzare people have done. Some people thought the best way to utilize it was to strap weapons to it`s shell. I even whitnessed a tribe who straped flamethrowers and rocket launchers. While as silly as straping a gun to a turtle`s shell the results don`t lie. These armed tesudins have became quite popular as seige beasts among certian tribes and feard amoungst there enemies. In game: Megalochelys is gona be the ultimate soaker/tank. Simular to the the carbonemys and other armoured creatures the Megalochelys`s heavy shell reduces incoming damge, but its legs are coverd in large hard scales that also reducses incoming damage ( less damage reduction than the shell). Pretty much only it`s head, neck and tail is not armoured. It will pretty much be a bigger, stronger and more defensive carbonemys. Movment: *Megalochelys is slow and heavy but can pick up speed when sprinting (moves faster and faster simular to rhino and dire bear but decently slower) *It can turn in place. *It is to heavy to swim but it has plenty off oxygen for itself and the rider. Walks along the bottom. *In return off beeing so heavy it can`t be knocked around or picked up exept for the rhyniognatha. Abiliets. *Bite: turtle go chomp. Decent damage *Snapper: the Megalochelys tucks in it`s head and charges up a attack where it shoots out it head in a fast motion and chomps down on it`s target. The longer you charge The more powerfull the attack. smaller creatures (including humans) will get traped in Megalochelys`s jaws where they can be carried around. *Block out: The Megalochelys tucks its head in and shouts it`s shell almost completly closed (only it`s legs sticks out) this increases it`s damgae reduction for incoming damgae including elemental damge like fire. This also protect the rider from whether and enviormental effeckts. I imagen the saddle is placed on it`s neck or in the front opning off the shell so when it closes the survivor is protected within. The Megalochelys can while slowly walk around in this state but it will drain it`s stamina over time. *Lock up: Hold e and a option to lock up will appear this result in the Megalochelys going into it`s shell. This result in it taking no damage but it won`t move or fight back against anything until it`s called back out. This also works as a safe way for it to regenerate it`s healt back up or keeping imortant items safe. *Belly flopp: Megalochelys uses it`s front legg to push up and it`s hind legs to push itself forward to slam it`s heavy body forward, this is a powerfull but slow attack. *Saddle: While Megalochelys is rideable without a saddle equiping it alows you to equip it with some extra fire power. Equipable tool/objects: *Cannon *Flamethrower *Rocket launcher *tek grenade launcher (maby more) No addition rider needed all weapons can be controled from the seat. Place ammo for the equiped weapon in Megalochelys`s inventory and the weapons will automaticly be loaded. Ammo like cannonballs, spear bolts and the likes get a weight reduction. Taming: When you find one you need to use rare flowers to get it`s attention then pretty much talk it for a walk while occasionally feeding it requested items like crops, berries, rare flower or mushroom. If you or it take to much damage the taming progress wil reset so keep an open eye for aggresive dinos. anyway thats my idea so far hope you liked it. Hope you consider give this a vote and help me get this bueatyfull creature into the game. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.
  21. The Chaoyangsaurus was a gentle herbivorous dinosaur with a unique ability to influence plant growth and enrich its surroundings. Here are some features you can add to the Chaoyangsaurus: 1.Appearance: The Chaoyangsaurus has a slender body covered in colorful flower-like patterns. Its skin can range from soft pastel shades to vibrant and bright colors, resembling delicate petals. 2.Plant Influence: The Chaoyangsaurus possesses the ability to enhance plant growth. It can emit a special pollen through its breath that stimulates plants in the vicinity, causing them to grow faster. 3.Healing Aura: When the Chaoyangsaurus is nearby, players and other dinosaurs experience an increased healing factor. The Chaoyangsaurus emits a soothing aroma that possesses healing properties, accelerating the recovery of health for those around it. 4.Taming: To tame the Chaoyangsaurus, you need to knock out the Chaoyangsaurus. Players may need to find specific types of seeds or flowers that it finds appealing. Carefully feeding the Chaoyangsaurus with its preferred food will eventually earn its trust and friendship. 5.Benefits: By promoting plant growth, it ensures a more abundant food supply. Additionally, its healing presence offers protection against harmful effects and speeds up health regeneration. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaoyangsaurus
  22. Original Artwork by Fernando Usabiaga Bustos: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/rAyqla Name: Camarasaurus Species: Camarasaurus supremus TIme: Jurassic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial Wild: Around the same size as an adult Rex, Camarasaurus lives in large Groups traversing through the Arks vast Tundras. Their Herd usually consist of one dominant Male and a couple of Females. When attackted the Female will almost always try to flee, while the Male meet the Threat head on, protecting its Mates. When the Females are alertet by the Males combat belows right before its defeat, they will turn back and try to help against their Aggressor in unison. Males are easily recognised by their large pronounced Headcrest and bulky Body. Taming: Protected by the dominant Male, the Herd must first be seperated before attempting to tame. Otherwise the belowing Roars of the Male will rally up the remaining Herd and reset any taming attempt immediately. While seperated the Females will once again become dossile and let Survivors come close to feed them their favourite Food Rare Flowers. The Males on the otherhand will be to territorial to let anything come close to them, so they first need to be trapped by a Chainbola and only while a tamed Female Camara is near will let it self be feed as it slowly trust the Survivor. Domesticated: While these Sauropod are mostly used for Tribe on Tribe Warfare as the males can rally up any teammember with it Rage inducing Roars, that significantly speed up their attack speed for a couple of seconds. Some Survivors even use their buff as a support for defeating the Guardians of the various Arks. Males can also be fittet with a heavily armoured Saddle that can give them a much higher Resistence against Explosives or any kind of Bullets. Females on the other hand can be fittet with a Saddle that has multiple Loadout Mannequinns on each side. Lowered enough so a Survivor can easily access them from the ground. Some even use Saddles that bost two very large Storage Containers on each side of its body that can be filled with any Material or Equipment needed while the Camarasaurus doesnt carry any of the needed carryweight. Potential Moveset: Camara could be able to turn in place Primary Attack (Left Click): Directional Singular Stomp Secondary Attack (Right Click): Short Tail Whip that covers area behind itself Heavy Attack (C): Fury of frontal Stomps that get progressively stronger and faster Special Attack (X): While sprinting Camara can perform a heavy bash attack, where it quickly forces its whole body to one side to push away enemys. Any creature next to the side its attacking towards will be knocked over or stuned. Depending on the size of the opponent. Roar (Strg): Gives all nearby Allies the Rage Buff Rage Buff: - Provides a short burst of double Attack speed and Immunity to all Stuns. While giving any Creature glowing red Eyes. Saddle Ideas: Male Camara Saddle: - Heavy Metal Armour Plating - Resistence towards Bullet and Explosives Female Camara Saddle: - Loadout Mannequin on the lower side of its Saddle, for easy fast Player Equipment in PvP situations - Giant Metal Storage Containers on the side of its Saddle, for easy Resource gathering or Base relocation Fell free to share your critiques or new ideas!
  23. Hi all, I would like to introduce a new way that herbivores could be used to join the fight, Macrauchenia sommesonus! Macrauchenia was a lipotern ungulate living during the Pleistocene epoch until around 10,000 years ago and looked like a giant llama with a trunk. In Ark its trunk could be used for sound-based combat and deafening opponents. Macrauchenia was a large herbivore that would be able to hold its own against most predators on Ragnarok as well as harvest thatch and berries. As a pack animal Macrauchenia is specialised at carrying building pieces, perfect for assisting cave runs and boss fights. Here's some reasons why Macrauchenia would be great for Ragnarok- · Shout attack- the more Macrauchenia are using the attack, the louder the sound! Damage caused by their attack will stack, eventually preventing enemy command whistles and courage roars and doing crazy high damage. · Has a sound buff caused by enemy roars · Reduced carry weight on building pieces · Tamed using wardrums · A herbivore that’s good in combat, and a more unique mechanic to fight with Dossier Wild Since humanity all but disappeared, the Arks became much quieter. That is, except for one creature who’s booming calls fill the silence- Macrauchenia. These giant, long-nosed llamas wander across the plains and communicate at distance with deep, trumpeting calls. And the more Macrauchenia that get involved, the more deafening the noise becomes. Wild Macrauchenia are drawn towards other loud noises; more musical tribes have been able to domesticate them by playing wardrums. They are the only creatures I have seen that even enjoy the roaring of predators and are able to defend themselves against a louder foe much more effectively than a silent one. Domesticated Macrauchenia can be used as a beast of burden just as well as camels back home. They are particularly adept at carrying walls and flooring material to wherever you plan to build. One single Macrauchenia is not very powerful in combat, however a large group of them can be devastating. With enough Macrauchenia you can completely deafen your opponent, making them unable to hear commands. The only protection I have found from this is to wear a fur hat to muffle their sound. Wild behaviour · Lives in the plains, desert and snow (near rexes and yutys) · Only attacks when provoked · If nearby rexes or yutys roar, then will become aggressive to all nearby enemies (and receive a defence buff) · Herbivore Taming · Will move towards wardrums when played · Starts a minigame where you play the wardums to the same rhythm as the Macrauchenia’s noise. Good timing will tame more quickly. Losing the beat will reduce taming effectiveness. Utility Pack mule · Fast walk speed and slow stamina drain · Reasonably fast swim speed for a large herbivore (similar speed to an Amarga) · High stamina (450), weight (800) and health (720) stats · Weight reduction of 50% on all building materials In combat · Bulky herbivore with a similar power level to chalicotheriums and woolly rhinos · Significant power buff when roared at, either by rexes or yutys. Similar buff to bug killer on Megatheriums. · Immune to enemy fear roars · Main attack is the sound attack but can also kick and bite for reasonably good damage. · As it’s a herbivore can eat sweet veggie cakes Sound attack · Attack that has a medium distance and large AOE (meaning they can stand behind your more tanky tames and still do damage) · Disables nearby enemy parasurs · Takes damage twice per second and has fast stamina drain · Very low damage when only using one Macrauchenia but stacks as you add more creatures becomes exponentially more powerful. Damage is also increased by levelling. · Three or more using a sound attack will trigger the deafened debuff- blocks targets from hearing commands and courage roars · Damage caps at six Macrauchenia- at this stage the damage would be insane and probably enough to shred through many bosses · Can be blocked by wearing a fur hat or Tek helmet Damage calculations for sound attack · Starts at base 1 damage per tick if 100% melee · Every Macrauchenia added doubles the power of the attack · Although these numbers don’t seem too huge this attack has a longer range than biting, and is much faster. The DPS is probably not far behind that of gigas and would be much higher than many rexes. Number of Macrauchenia attacking Base DPS at 100% melee Total DPS if all have 100% melee Base DPS at 1000% melee Total DPS if all have 1000% melee 1 1 1 10 10 2 2 4 20 40 3 4 12 40 120 4 8 32 80 320 5 16 80 160 800 6 32 192 320 1920 7 64 448 640 4480 (is this too broken?) · 6 Macrauchenia with 1000% melee will do faster damage to most bosses than Deinonychus bleed (so there may need to be a damage cap to stop this being completely broken). 7 1000% damage Macrauchenia could kill a level 1 wild giga in less than 20 seconds · These calcs are not even using the yuty courage buff or sound buff mentioned earlier- maybe these should not affect the sound attack to stop Macrauchenia from absolutely destroying everything What are your thoughts? I've tried to make this concept a little balanced (but have got carried away with damage calc at the end). Are there any changes you would make? Thanks for reading!
  24. The Eobasileus, meaning “horned dawn king”, was a large herbivorous mammal that lived during the Eocene period. A bizarre, superficially rhino-like animal, it had the features we’d associate with other groups of creatures. It had a large and stout rhino-like body, six knob-like ossicones on its head, and a pair of long saber-like fangs coming out of its mouth. These giants are often found grazing on Ragnaroks grasslands in small herds, however, they can be seen crashing through the forest in their search for food. Abilities: -Body slam attack: While the wooly rhino specializes in piercing its target, the eobasileus specializes in breaking through structures by slamming its body into them. This attack when given enough room to charge does massive damage to structures up to stone. When used against enemies this attack does damage and knocks back larger creatures and flat-out stuns smaller ones. This attack can be used to gather resources as well. -Saddle armor: The eobasileus has the option for two saddles. The normal which is unlocked at level 40, and one that can be unlocked at level 65. This higher tier saddle resembles medieval horse armor, and this armor provides much further resistance to damage from firearms and explosives. This armor notably makes the body slam attack do more damage. -Headbutt: A standard headbutt attack with its ossicones that does damage and knockback. -Carry weight: As a large, dense herbivore the eobasileus is able to carry large amounts of resources for long distances. -Living grinder: Utilizing its saberteeth and ossicones it is able to grind up materials when put in its inventory. Appearance: It’s up for debate whether the eobasileus had fur or not, but I think a mix of both could work well. It should still resemble the real animal, but possessing armor plated skin similar to an Indian rhino would add to its design. Regarding fur patterns, there’s paleo art that depicts it with fur resembling that of a bongo or okapi, so I believe that would be a great reference. I’ll leave examples of all in the images section. Taming method: Eobasileus are generally passive, but become aggressive when approached. When provoked they’ll charge at an aggressor, and this is what starts the taming process. Once locked onto the target they’ll start charging, and a survivor can lead them inadvertently crashing into rocks, walls, or trees. This leaves them temporarily dazed, allowing for a survivor to feed them their preferred food, superior kibble.
  25. Tetrameryx is an extinct genus of the North American artiodactyl family Antilocapridae, known from Mexico, the western United States, and Saskatchewan. The name means "four [horned] ruminant", referring to the division of each horn near its base into two prongs; in T. shuleri, the rear prong is much longer. Our ancestors hunted these animals very often and were great for their meat, hides, and horns. Some benefits to this animal are a super fast mount for early to mid game for getting across the deserts fast or getting up steep cliffs to escape the threats hidden in the sands. Another good thing this animal could be used for is it's horns. They could allow the player a substitute for the cantine or water skin. They could also be hollowed out to make war horns. As this animal is a relative of animals such as antelope and pronghorns, Tetrameryx would be able to turn on a dime and allow it to escape anything chasing it. Being able to out run gigas, carnos, and raptors, this beast would make for an excellent mount for across Scorched Earth, Lost Island, and even Fjordur. Tetrameryx are more often than not found in herds of up to six individuals with a large male looking over the rest. This is the beast you want as he is more likely to have higher stats than the rest. His horns would be fully formed and hardened to make even the boldest of carnivores think twice about messing with his herd.
