  1. I am constantly amazed how many amazing concepts you have on hand, another absolute banger of a creature, with a fantastic design and a brilliant mechanics behind it. I am a diehard Gorgonops fan but I think I’m going to have to put this as my number one.
  2. I absolutely LOVE this concept, and fully support it 100% it dearly. When it comes to the new Creature Submissions, I am all for two key aspects: 1. Introducing underrepresented groups of Prehistoric Animals 2. Introducing new concepts that make creatures stand out and fit a unique niche in the gameplay of ARK. You submission achieves both those things exceptionally well. I also presented a concept for a mobile generator creature however your concept goes way beyond mine, so I’ll definitely be throwing in my support. Best of luck making it to the top 10!
  3. COMMON NAME: CENTROSAURUS SPECIES: Centrosaurus ferruceros TIME: Late Cretaceous DIET: Herbivore TEMPERMENT: Territorial WILD If I were none the wiser of the origins of the ARKs, I would certainly have my suspicions sparked finding Centrosaurus ferruceros in a location colloquially known as the "Centre". These ceratopsians, despite their larger size and more aggressive demeanor, are less commonly sighted, only residing in locales where soils are rich in minerals, as it appears that iron consists of a high portion of their diet. This diet has allowed Centrosaurus to incorporate these minerals into their defences, developing a 'metallic sheath' amongst its horns and osteoderms, bolstering both the offensive and defensive capabilities allowing it to stand up against even the toughest of foes. I've even seen some more experienced members of a herd even use their metallic sheathes as conductors to overcharge their entire body to stun would be predators in their tracks! DOMESTICATED As long as you can maintain their high metal diet, between their limitless storage of energy and combat capabilities, Centrosaurus makes an optimal mount for any individual looking to traverse through treacherous environments with a sturdy and reliable source of protection. However, it is tribes that have reached the industrious stage of technology that appear to have fully utilised Centrosaurus to its full potential, with (some you would call mad) scientists. constructing elaborate contraptions in an attempt to go even further beyond. **WHAT DOES IT MEAN??** To summarise what I am proposing: -Mid-Late tier herbivore, we need another boss viable herbivore with a unique playstyle -Located in uncommon pockets in "high iron environments" (Centre Floating Island and Volcanic Island) -Territorial temperament, will only become aggressive if you get too close. Drops meat, hide and metal ore upon death. -Taming method is currently undetermined, would like to have a passive method involving using electric prods to overcharge and rodeo to give them a secondary use, but they're unlocked way too late in the engram tree, so open to suggestions. -Preferred food will be Metal Ore, however berries and other herbivorous foods will be edible too -Feeding metal ore, however, will maintain their 'metallic sheath', a stat boost that increases both their damage and resistance to piercing and bleed damage -Secondary ability to 'charge up' and enter an overcharged state. This state increases attack and movement speed, decreases stamina drain, and stuns a target on the first attack -Proposal of a second saddle option, with the design implementing a Tesla coil attached to the centre horn. This saddle works as a generator and can be used to help power up mobile bases for smaller outposts (if you'd like to get crazy with it, I'd also love to see it operate as a Tesla Cannon, used to stun targets at a range to help tame or capture. As for design, one of my initial ideas was to actually have the horns coil to have that Tesla coil appearance, however, they didn't look as great as I initially wanted, so instead I went with the angular horn appearance, which reflects the eneregised nature as well as separating it and providing a distinct look compared to Triceratops and Pachyrhinosaurus already in the game. Regarding the central horn, I was torn whether to angle it forward or backward, as there has been multiple depictions and finds displaying both directions, however I decided to go with the forward facing, again to seperate it from already existing creatures in Ark I.E Coeladonta. The other more speculative choice of the design is the exaggerated quills located on the hindquarters and tail of Centrosaurus. This is purely speculative as quills of this nature have only really been found in basal species of ceratopsids, howehindquartersver I do have a few reasons I decided to implement them; 1. The hind quarters of the design felt significantly empty and required something to make it pop and stand out. 2. It could be used as a more obvious indicator of the different 'states' that Centrosaurus could be in, allowing other players in a PVP setting to identify more easily. 3. Again much like the design of the horns, to visually separate the Centrosaurus from other similar designs. 4. I think it looks cool 🙂 Thank you for reading! I would like to shout out Maximussergio for helping me come up with this proposal, and would definitely recommend anyone still reading to go support their ideas for Sinotyrannus!
  4. Glad to see you return with your proposal! Teraterpeton is a perfect addition to the Abberation Roster! Will be having my vote and number one place for top 10! If it’s okay I’m going to repost my one (rather large) suggestion regarding taming methods that I posted on your previous post. -PARASITE TAMING: I love knock out tames as much as the next person but as we go on and see some cool new methods of taming being introduced, I would be interested in seeing something unique for the Tereterpton. I have my own idea but it would require some slight changes to their initially proposed nature and could be considered a little vile. What makes this animal unique is its lack of teeth in the front segment of its jaw, indication that this animal was certainly not an active predator. My go to would be an insectivore, however the implementation of a piercing proboscis like tongue could be interpreted as a Sanguivore, much like the Bloodstalker and Desmodus, so you could go for a similar taming method like them, but what if we went even more unique? What if instead in the ARKs, Teraterpeton's fed on stomach content? Using their proboscis tongues, their pierce through the organ walls and suck out the half digested food of their victims, leaving them in a dazed state with stamina and food drained. From there you could make a taming method similar to the Sanguivores, but instead focus on unique foods rather than blood (a potential for each individual having preferred diets even?)This idea obviously doesn't need to be taken into consideration, as I believe your idea is just as good as well, however I am always keen to see what new and crazy ways we can collect creatures in the ARKs and with the newly described Rhyniognatha breeding method, its good to see the devs embrace the sometimes not so pretty side of the ecosystem!
  5. Introducing Diictodon audax! Common Name: Diictodon Scientific Name: Diictodon audax Time: Late Permian Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Territorial WILD: I keep thinking I know just about every species present on the ARK's, and yet in the case of Diictodon audax, there still may just be some surprises still under our noses. Diictodon are almost entirely fossorial, living a vast majority of their lives under the ground in colonies, searching for roots and tubers to feed on. Though most colonies I have found in some of the more drier climates of the ARK, I have been told by survivors that they will settle in any area that has access to crops, where harvests will begin to show a lighter yield than anticipated. Don't let their size fool you however, Diictodon are ferociously territorial and will stand their ground, putting on quite the display that I've seen disorient and frighten most would be predators! Though it must be said, their bark is certainly worse than their bite. DOMESTICATED: I've seen a few methods survivors use to befriend local colonies, however the most common method, dubbed "Diictodon Fishing", luring individuals to the surface with treats and pets. Those of us more impatient have also resorted to more 'explosive' methods of flushing, which albeit efficient, can yield unforeseen consequences if not careful. A Diictodon colony make great additions to any tribes farmhouse. Their knack of the organizational skills mixed with the constant aeration of soil from burrowing allow for crop yield and quality to significantly increase over time, as long as you are willing to share the fruits of your labour of course. I have also seen tribes utilize some of the colonies bolder individuals as a great guard dogs to deter any would be attackers getting to close for comfort. Though they may be good at putting on a show, its best not to stick around, lest the Diictodon's charm begins to wear. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I love a new ferocious predator being introduced to ARK as much as the next person, however I am always keen to see new and unique ideas introduced to expand on some of Ark's less focused features. One of which is farming, which admittedly tends to be something that I will usually forget about most play throughs, with times that I do thinking its a chore to work on. This has influenced my design of introducing Diictodon to ARK, with an extra bit of flair to improve overall utility! Summary: To explain what my concept for introducing Diictodon into ARK: -Diictodon colonies spawn as burrows that can be interacted with (think of it as like a structure similar to the beehive in the overworld). -Multiple Diictodon can spawn in a burrow, with the lowest level individual inside usually being the main interactable member. -These "Alphas" will yap, scream and snap at any individuals that come close to their burrow. This will deter most creatures at a certain drag weight to be frightened off or at least deterred from going closer. This behaviour is inspired by many burrowing animals of today, specifically Lemmings that are surprisingly aggressive against anything that approaches their burrows that could be considered a threat. -To tame the Alpha that has been spooked back into their den, the main taming method would involved a survivor placing their arm into the opening of the burrow with a preferred food item on the 0 key, then once successful at luring one to the top, a minigame can play out similar to the fishing minigame to tame your Diictodon. This idea is a bit of a stretch but is based off Noodling, a fishing method practiced by catching hiding catfish by luring and catching them with your bare hands. -Alternatively, a grenade can be placed inside of the burrow to flush out multiple to specifically select your preferred members to tame passively. However expect major resistance from some very upset residents. Again, this idea influenced by another method; Dynamite fishing. -Tamed Diictodon will have two key roles: FARM HAND: Tamed Diictodon can establish new colonies, with these colonies having a radius of influence, depending on the number of members inside. Any crop plots inside of this radius will have similar effects to greenhouse, with the added benefit of helping harvesting. which can be then collected from the main burrow. (Since these individuals will be primarily underground, it wouldn't make sense for them to be able to access a feeding trough, so be sure to leave your workers a little food!). GUARD DOG: As a shoulder mount, you will receive a passive buff from your Diictodon that will work similar to a mix of the Sinamacrops scare and a Ghillie Suit. Smaller aggressive creatures will avoid you whereas larger predators will have a smaller aggression radius. If you have any suggestions as to what you think should be changed or improved, please don't hesitate to share your thoughts! I always appreciate clever ideas being brought up by this amazing community. Do I expect the Diictodon to win? No not at all sadly, however, its always a great time thinking up unique ideas to introduce some amazing animals into this wonderful game! Thanks for reading and happy voting! 😊 Credit for both images goes to Walking with Monsters (2005) by Impossible Pictures.
  6. I absolutely adore this idea, its such a cool design and I love the artwork, plus its now introduced me to yet another bizarre animal from the Triassic period. I have some suggestions to make the Teraterpeton a more unique member to the roster. -TRAPPER UNIT: One thing I've been really keen on for ARK to introduce is for more creatures that have special utilities that would assist in catching and taming other creatures, especially agile or highly aggressive animals that would require some sort of man made trap to hold into place. Your idea of an impaling tongue sounds like the perfect way to include this within the game, providing them the potential to be used as a living harpoon launcher that would help slow down and in the case of smaller animals, completely halt a wild creatures movement in place to allow for survivors to easily tame, attack or hold back/distract. This role could be further extended by becoming not only a trapper but a tracker as well, with heightened receptors on their tongue, it would make them adept in not only locating particular resources, but creatures that a survivor would be looking for, with a knack of identifying more powerful creatures too. It would basically become the land equivalent of the Electrophorus, filling a niche that would make it stand out amongst other mounts of that size! I like that you are focusing on making Teraterpeton nocturnal too, but I believe that this should be expressed further. It shouldn't be provided with the same buff/debuff much like the Megalosaur, but I believe it would certainly encourage players to use them more in their appropriate time if they were offered a buff, maybe the group buff is only active at night time just off the top of my head? Perhaps there are other ideas but I definitely think this would be beneficial to again further differentiate Teraterpeton to other mounts of their size. Everything else seems pretty good to me, I could take or leave the ability to dig as I believe that this creature is already pretty loaded ability wise and would make more sense to have it be a climber, especially in the context of the roles i have proposed. My only other thing I would say is if this does not make the vote (which is a unfortunately likely outcome), I would highly implore you to resubmit this if they continue this trend and have a submission vote for Abberation, as I believe in honesty that this would be a much better suited location for these creatures to reside. Anyway, thanks again for introducing me to this cool dude, you've got my vote!
