  1. Maybe we should have 2-3 "community crunches" and then a specific "dev crunch"...and the dev crunch contains ONLY official wildcard content (no fluff, no mods, no art work). I mean I love mods, but I'm starting to hate these nothing-burger crunches. Why do you guys spend more time on showing off mods/art than offical content? It's weird. I don't understand why WC can't at least release some screenshots of Scorched(or the Center) to hype people up for the next maps. It's only a month away, they must have something they could show off surely?! Not like it would take a lot of time/effort to just snap a few pretty screenshots/vistas from the new maps for each crunch. Or tell us more about how the paid DLC sister pack is going to work with official, servers, how much its going to cost, etc. ...again one month from release (unless that's also being delayed). PS. Gigaraptor is neat 9.5/10 for looks, 8/10 for abilities, 1/10 for taming taming is awful revert your 'no trap' hotfix & let people play how they want; gimmick tames are just tedious
  2. I really like this idea, though personally I would have: winner 1: the creature that wins round one winner 2: the creature that wins after 9 rounds of ranked choice voting winner 3 (optional): 'devs choice' pick from the other 8 ....Not that I see it happening as it double/triples the amount of work for the devs As for the original post: 1. I don't think people with large ark YT/mod followings should be able to submit (garuga, depths, syntac, nexxuz, etc). Edmon wouldn't have stood a chance at top 10 if it hadn't been 'advertised', and this entire fiasco was very unfair towards the Yingi creator. If a big CC wants to submit require them to do it anonymously (and if they're caught secretly promoting it remove the entry) 2. I think people should be allowed to have multiple submissions in round 1, BUT only the most popular one will be pushed into round 2 3. Grace period would be great 4. The downvote trolls suck, but already assumed it can't be fixed without rewriting the entire forum code 5. This ones hard - only solution I can see is breaking up later votes into categories so we can get some creatures in that normally get overlooked or stuggle due to phobias (spiders/bugs, snakes, shoulder pets, small herbivores, etc) 6. I have zero issue with repeat submissions
  3. Have you guys considered changing up the community crunch to bi-weekly and every post has some actual news? I mean c'mon you have 2 games (supposedly) in the works, one that's meant to release next month...and this is the best you can come up with? An absolute nothingburger.
  4. Love the idea of this little guy (and the gif is adorable!); hopefully you can get some traction. Doodled you a little peacock version to go with the original ❤
  5. Suspect it won't be popular enough to ever win (vs another rideable big cat), but just wanted to say I absolutely adore your artwork! I've always wanted an Arkified version of the cat shoulder pets from Atlas ♥️ (also cats with hats)
  6. Like the overall idea, but I feel for this type on entry you should add something along the lines of a cutaway showing how a base would look/be positioned inside the creature, maybe even some art of the player inside looking out. As for the rest...if you want to stick with using AI art, I would highly suggest tracing/using it as a base for your own art specifically for the dossier(even if its just a super basic outline you replace later) - there's nothing wrong with adding with some bonus AI generated pieces as a supplement but ideally keep it out the dossier/what people see as soon as the page loads. Would imagine will likely get more votes/positive feedback and less drama on your entry that way. Here a (basic) example of what I mean using one of your AI images:
  7. While personally I'd be happy to see more felines of any type, I think you're going to have a hard time selling this to the majority who are going to say its 'a sabertooth minus the teeth'. Some side by side art with the current sabertooth pointing out the differences would help (I assume it's lot larger, heavier and muscular than the sabertooth). Even so, I suspect you might need some bigger visual changes to get people on board (think how both speed-kitty entries are very visually unique from the sabertooth). I'm really not sure what you could do to give it a bit more unique visual flair - the spot pattern is good (best to avoid the sabertooth stripes) but I do feel it needs something extra. It's a great start, and I'm certainly interested to see how the concept evolves.
  8. I mean which cat? A cheetah specifically not so much, but big cats that frequently deal with(or hunt in) rivers/water have no such problem. The florida puma, tiger, fishing cat and jaguar all like water well enough (plenty of videos/photos of a tiger/jaguar swimming or even underwater). If we're talking domestic cats, bengals/turkish vans are both known to swim/like water. Not wanting it on map with a tonne of water is fine, but that part is such a weird nitpick.
  9. Glad you're keeping it in - I'm sure there's other people like me who have no interest in aquatic submissions, as Arks underwater gameplay is meh (and adding one more creature to it won't change that). Would be nice for us to keep at least one land based creature in the top 10 (I'd say land or air based, but I'm fed up with pterosaurs). I suspect it won't win as people are dead set on a water creature for the center, aka it'll get slapped by the ranked vote system (but in that case I look forward to seeing it back for at least Valguero). Love the overall look/art. My only criticism of the design is the tek armor - I'm not fully sold on the arm attachments. It takes a nice very sleek, lithe creature and makes it look rather bulky/unbalanced (looks like it would hinder the creatures speed if anything). I feel like the more streamlined/falcon/jetpack type or armor would be more fitting for a 'speed demon'. I'd prefer see something that wouldn't hamper its movement as much (maybe metal plates/claw extensions on the front legs). The visor is adorable though - I do love that idea! Edit: Something along these lines maybe? I'm sure you can do a far better job as I'm worthless at drawing tek armor. Not sure if you're on speaking terms with the giant cheetah team, but I do think their speed-kitty tek armor design was on point. 😅
  10. On the other end of the spectrum you have the Yi Qi where the original was an intimidating fierce dragon/wyvern hybrid creature with a long tail/big wings, and that design was murdered into a stumpy dodo-raptor/terror bird that looks nothing like the original design - sadly wildcard doesn't always stick with the original design. 😅 Seahorses/flying fish are at least interesting designs regardless (weedy seadragons look pretty crazy IRL) and can defintely have some artist license involved. If a water tame must win (because too many people will dump the non-water on rank 9-10), I hope it's at least something along those lines and not a copy/paste of the stuff we already have (ichthy v2, mosa v2, etc).
  11. I'd honestly love to see them officially add the Atlas hippocampus to Ark (a few mods add it, and it fits perfectly). Would be a great ocean fantasy creature alongside the wyvern/griffin/phoenix. It's really too bad players aren't allowed to suggest mythological creatures (but maybe the seahorse submission can reach the top 10).
