Hello Survivors! We have very exciting news to share with you today, and no this isn’t about the 16ft T-Rex that you can ride on at PAX but instead our battle-royale, hunger-games inspired spin-off is making it’s way onto the PS4 on July 19th! ARK: Survival of the Fittest started off as a fun event to put together using our Dev Kit, to show players what they would be capable of creating back in August 2015. Following the reception from the Community we decided to launch Survival of the Fittest as a standalone, spin-off version of ARK: Survival Evolved just over a month ago! Survivor League will also be making it’s way to the PS4 so that the best players can compete for cash prizes every month. In addition to the prizes, players will also be able to qualify for exclusive invites to tournaments as well participate in future tournaments that we are planning. That announcement was made a while ago about them making mods for Xbox, now giving an exact time estimation is probably just announced. I just love how my friends and people kept telling me they thought it was impossible for mods to come to console. Look where we are now lololol. Mods are no different than DLC for a game1 point

No. You are wrong. We don't even have the full game on the Xbox yet, or the PC.. It's still a pre-release software, a game still in development. We'll have the full game when it releases, not before. As for the rest: SotF is a F2P stand-alone game that has nothing to do with ARK: Survival evolved's development process. A seperate team is working on SotF and PS4 has no early access/game preview program, and this is basically the only way to test any aspect of the core coding on the PS4 platform. Even if the hardware is similar on both consoles, the OS is completely different, which is the main reason i assume they need some way of testing the core mechanics on the PS4, and SotF is an easy way of doing that. If the game is delayed, that's brilliant. It gives them more time to polish the game. Personally, I'd rather wait longer for a game that'll run smoother than having a bug-ridden lag infested game that barely runs. So instead of crying, make sure to report bugs to the devs so they can squash them as fast as possible, and get a game that runs smooth on release. Crying about bugs in an Alpha or a Beta for that matter, won't help the devs, and it sure as heck won't help any of us players.1 point

Some info to clarify a few points: Of course all the Official Mods/Maps will be free. The intent is to give back to the community and get more great ARK content integrated into the official game on PC and Consoles The Official Mods/Maps will all function in singleplayer, etc. We will be hosting & maintaining Official Servers for all the Official Mods/Maps. Because of The Center being added as an Official Map during the Mod Contest now, it will shortly be removed from the Mod Contest competition placement and the next entrant will be moved up. Count me in the pool of people wondering what the heck this means for Xbox. I swear, if Wildcard shafts Xbox like Bungie did with Destiny and a never ending slew of exclusives, I will be very unhappy. Just have a bad gut feeling with the omission of anything about the Xbox.1 point
