ADude
Today I started disconnecting again about every 30 minutes. I run the steam version and have my own server on my LAN. Is anyone else experiencing this ?
ANewHome
Yes - I've been getting this in online servers for last few 4-5 hrs.
ADude
Thanks. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon. It's hard enough playing ark without having to plan what you are doing in 25 minute chucks.
Nashiq
Many of our players have reported the same thing. I've checked with other server hosts and they're getting the same issue. Seems to be the last patch causing disconnects.
ADude
I connected a VPN when I connected again to see if that makes a difference. When there was that big issue with cloudflare a few weeks back, using a VPN and connecting through another county let you connect. Don't know if it'll help but it's worth a shot. ADude
I connected my VPN as if I was coming in from Switzerland and I'm 40 minutes in and I'm still connected.
TargetOne
Shouldn't NEED a VPN, clearly.
zero064
Yep, same here. It's bloody annoying when you're trying to defend supply drops or element nodes solo, because the drop/node despawns when you disconnect. I wonder if it's an issue with the patches. I see the latest is 319.22, but I'm still at 319.12.
ANewHome
I tried with a VPN - it did not help.
AdligerAdler
I can't even log in on my PS4 server. Getting constant "joining failed - conection timeout" messages.
Wyza
It still astounds me that unofficial private servers should be affected by *any* issues with Steam or some 3rd party system. I'm literally on the same network as my server with a ping of < 5 and there are still disconnects that seem to be related to issues from outside my network. Assuming this is similar to the issue from thanksgiving where there was a problem with cloudflare. I say this because yesterday it was fine, then randomly today it's messed up, and I'm guessing that whatever they do fixes it, without a patch to the game or servers, it'll be fine again. If there is an option to tell my server to not go talking to the outside world except to report it's existence to the server list, I'd love it.... I agree - but this could be the linking of progress back to WC/Steam/Epic Servers to track rewards ?
Wyza
Maybe, seems like it shouldn't kill the entire connection if it can't though. It's definitely 30 minutes between disconnects. Almost to the second (hard to be sure since there is some variability in that initial load time/connection).
xPraetorianx1911
Disconnecting as well, not just island specific. Pc/steam. Host timeout and it can occur after 5 minutes or 30 minutes , can be more than once in 30 min, and ,idle or not idle.
danhimanez
Same thing happening to my entire tribe. Ruins the experience when you get too paranoid to leave base because you know you're going to fall off your dino somewhere crazy... I checked mtr between server and clients and not seeing any loss or high latency... And judging by the number of reports here it looks like there might be an issue with 319.
mvallier45
So whats the deal all day long dissconnected every 30 min with out fail is there fix in the worked we have lost dino's and one tribe mate is trapped on another server forced to make a new survivor to get back to our main so whats going on
Griff78
Same here. DC every 30-60 mins. Running on steam. Seems like the old days. 😭
Wyza
If it was the patch, then I'd think this would have started when the patch went out, but looking at downdetector, it seems that the issues started at about 4PM EST. https://downdetector.com/status/ark/. I'm more inclined to think that the issue is external to our servers/clients.
zero064
If we still had the -rawsockets option it'd be the first thing I'd try as a fix. I'm on a LAN with my server, so there shouldn't be any connection issues at all.
