  1. just looking at graphics cards from steam's hardware survey, roughly 50% of graphics cards on steam meet min spec or higher. and we're talking some gifts like 3050's being able to run it and 2060's. probably 40% if you weed out those below min spec but can still play sorta. recommended settings is going to fall closer to 10ish %. my best guess is probably 25-30%ish of cards can play the game comfortably without lowering graphics to lowest settings. that's all assuming the rest of the system is up to par. CPU/memory etc. i'm sure there are some people running a 2080 with a 5th gen i3 or something.
  2. that's my main worry. people are going to get around it. beloved hosting companies are going to implement their ways around it. then patch day comes and no one can play until a new backdoor is found. it's going to be like jailbreaking a phone, but with many many more patches.
  3. I've owned a server cluster for almost as long as ark has been out. I've used at least 5 different server hosts, including self hosting for a time. We had Nitrado for 6 months and had nothing but problems with lag, ddos attacks and customer support. We've been with our current host for 2 years, which includes other games that are not ark. it took a long time to find one we truly loved that had no issues and had dedicated people at the helm. Has Nitrado gotten better in the last 3 years? maybe, but considering they were just bought out by a mega corp that only cares about money, i doubt it. You do what you want with your money, but you got no say in what others feel.
  4. not until a server hosting company i trust is allowed to host. Nitrado is the worst of the worst.
  5. The nitrado decision is going to lose you guys a lot more than the 3 million they paid you.
  6. probably need 10,000 followers or some other insane number like the nitrado free server rules.
  7. we knew the bugs would be there. we've come to accept them over almost a decade. what we didn't expect was private servers to be completely hosed. ya'll really f'ed up hard on that one. private servers were the bread and butter of ARK.
  8. refunded as well. I used nitrado in the past and they were the absolute worst server host company i've worked with. we've been with 4-5 different companies over an 8 year span and they're the only one i'd really say no way in hell to.
  9. until they patch it out. they clearly don't' want it to be possible. i know of at least one non nitrado server host that has gotten things working on their end, but the worry will always be - *patch came out and now our hack doesn't work* all progress lost until they can figure another way in. it's like jailbreaking a phone, expect games patch a whole lot more and for better reasons.
  10. Nitrado is the only reason i need to make a negative review. I want to use my current setup. until that's possible they get a negative review and i refund my game.
  11. This is disgusting. Nitrado was one of the worst places to host your server. This is tearing apart communities and other hosts. On top of all that Nitrado doubles their price. DILO.
  12. This is just sad. We've been hosting a server group for years now. Been through many companies. Nitrado was by far one of the worst to work with. We finally found an amazing one a couple years back and have had a 7 map cluster up the entire time, as well as other games. If they don't allow other server providers a large number of us may stop playing.
  13. to be fair the full game is 17.99 right now. So yes the DLC costs more than the incomplete main game.
  14. the guy obviously isn't all there. Just feeding the troll at this point.
  15. They all have DLC. Not one of them releases a DLC before their game is finished. The time they took to make and polish a DLC, could and SHOULD have been put into finishing the actual game that was suppose to be done already. For a very long time having paid DLC on a pre-release game was not even allowed on steam. This is only the 2nd time I've seen it (the first was prision architect and the player base asked them to do it.) People are justifiably mad that resources were taken from completing the game and allocated to making us spend even more money for a still incomplete product. If they had come out and said, "look we need more capital, the lawsuit hit us hard, so we focused on making this awesome addition." sure. But to release it as a surprise and act like they're doing everyone a favor? Horrible customer service.
  16. maybe. I refuse to support such a shady business practice. They've gone back on their word multiple times and their game isn't even finished. I've been waiting for tek tier for ages and now i find out it would be out if they didn't spend who knows how many hours on this PAID dlc? Awful company.
  17. Wildcard you should be ashamed of yourselves. At this point I hope no one buys it and you have to give it away for free. What awful customer service to people who have supported you for years through this "alpha" (paid beta) process.
  18. wonder how many more biomes there will be, or if we'll get map extensions instead (I hope)
  19. Loving the new caves. Gone broke running them, but it's so much fun to see a real challenge.
  20. gas is already efficient. I wonder if it'll be used to craft anything else in addition.
  21. neat event but going to be impossible to find 200 eggs... much less 600.
  22. Armor looking amazing. Wonder how much light it emits. Can you be your own light source at night?
