Grand Fishing Rod Test - From Primivite to Ascendant

Hi everyone

I just spend the last couple of days testing the fishing rods in all kind of effectiveness.

I lined 9 fishing rods up with 50% effectiveness between them:
Primitive 100,0
Ramshackle 155,9
Apprentice 206,3
Journeyman 255,4
Mastercraft 304,4
Journeyman 355,1
Mastercraft 401,4
Ascendant 448,5
Ascendant 500,0

I cut up the testing in two parts.

In part 1 I caught two 1.0x fish with each of the fishing rods.

In part 2 I caught one +2,7x fish with each of the fishing rods.

Here are the quality I got from the difference fishing rods:

So what basically madders to get any blueprints is the quality you get from the fish. It's determined by the size of the fish and how good your effectiveness is on your fishing rod.

It's possible to get blueprints from a primitive fishing rod, but you have to catch some really big fish.

I'll just give you an example:

By catching a +2.7x coel with a primitive "100%" rod, you'll get 2,688 in quality.
By catching a 1.0x coel a journeyman "355" rod, will give you the same quality and it will be a lot easier to catch.
By catching a +2.7x coel with the same rod, you'll get around 9,438 which will give you high change of looting ascendant blueprints.

My advice: Don't do fishing until you get a better rod than the primitive. You'll begin to get blueprints from around ~1.8 quality and above.

Thanks for putting in the work! Its interesting to see the different quality loot differences. Gives me hope, since i cant get my hands on a mc+ rod

i have been searching for some time now but i am yet to find a Fish rod bp, What caves or whos uncle do i have to kill to have abetter chance a getting one.  I like fishing irl actually i would call it my number one hobby and i am yet to fish in the game anything or worth. Just like real fishing tho it is enraging

This script you speak of for catching fish. Is there any way to apply/use that in official. I can never reel in the big ones it seems

Well, I made another thread about that issue. From what I have read around here and Reddit, there is nothing "wrong" by using it. Maybe just the moral of using a auto fishing script, that's considered by many people cheating.

I don't think you can catch above 2,3 without a script, unless you're the world champion in bottom-pushing

I quote a guy who made the fishing script (from the Reddit post):
" To those caring about TOS or vacban, it's screen scanning, not RAM scanning : it's like making a screenshot and test if the image on a.png match with a part of the screenshot. And scripts are tolerated by devs (check on google/reddit/steamthread about it). "

You can find it in the svarmp loot crates, yellow and red air drop and in alpha mosasaurs.

I got around 20 red swamp cave drops, all have behemoth gate bps or other usless garbage btw did you ever test how many clicks it takes per fish depending on their size?

this is great news i do a lot of fishing and have been using my better bps and really getting avg stuff but i did get a asc pike bp from a fish!
