I appreciate the response Tylanater. Apologies, you are referring to 1x? Certainly not adverse to a slower progression but my understanding was all official servers were 2x? Or are you referring to an unofficial server? I was doing a bit of searching, are these rates on dododex accurate? https://www.dododex.com/rates Our goal is to ascend, but if a little bit of PvP happens thats ok, but what your suggesting is definitely more what we are looking for as oppose to deal with sweat lords as you would say. So might be stupid questions as we have only ascended once on our own private server in evolved and our goal is to ascend through the suite of expansions as they come out with the same characters. Why can the snowy owl and griffon dive while flying but other flying creatures can't? pteranodons, argentavis, wyverns and similar creatures should have the ability to dive, there is no reason why they shouldn't be capable of it, I'm not saying they should add an attack like the griffin but the ability to quickly descend altitude Yes. I'm not talking about rideable insects, insects don't perform this movement

sounds like they are probably max level. You can only get a certain amount of levels after you tame something. Been out of it for a bit but pretty sure its 75 levels for a tamed creature.

On PvP you don't have to ascend at all. You can transfer your character to another server at any time via a drop or obelisk. As far as catching up the honest truth is the PvP meta is rough. You'd probably do better off on 1x servers. The grind is longer but all the sweat lords play on small tribes. All the big tribes on small tribes ARE cheating and account sharing to have 6 people on 24/7 basically. A lot more common to find friendly(ish) alphas on 1x, even if you have to transfer around a bit first.

If you're playing single-player, or running your own server, that's really not cheating. Sometimes the game makes mistakes, or it could just be from random bad luck on the spawn points, and sometimes ARK just has glitches. Doing a dino wipe gives the game a chance to spawn everything fresh and maybe do a better job this time. If you just decided to spawn in the creatures you want, that would be cheating, but doing a dino wipe to give the game a chance to fix things is not cheating, that's just fixing glitches.

Just trying to play through the game without mods or commands... Want to do that at least once before I go and do all that. I'm new to Ark in general. Played a little ASE, but when I did, it didn't grab my attention like ASA is this time. Appreciate your advice though

There are no mods on PS4. ASA is not running there and ASE does not have them for PS.
