  1. You are in the right place to post a picture of your crashes. Scorched was the first paid DLC map. The Center was the first available DLC map. Plenty of players went to University and still have trouble running this game. You aren't alone in your frustration.
  2. Have you tried using an AI image generation tool yet? 'cus if you can't draw, how else will you get someone else to draw it for you? Either you are good at social engineering, or you are mechanically inclined for said task, and now we have a new or - or use an AI tool at some level to give you something to work with. I wouldn't doubt, a large number of these submitters get inspiration from actual creatures that have existed as a reference point.
  3. @Dreadcthulhu - I think your suggestion is the most obvious solution with the least amount of effort needed from WC. If not a magnifying glass modification, then just put the info window on the cryopods by giving a more detailed window option. I used to just name them 44 35 20 20 40 54 23 , then that got confusing looking at 20 at once so i started going 44h35s20o20f40w54m23r ... then I ......
  4. The more you breed, the more able you will be to figure out the mutations faster. it’s not something that remains impossible to tell. Plus we can export the Dino info on the pc version. With that we can parse the information in ASB and tell right away what changed. People can even take pictures from the other platforms and import the pictures to ASB and ASB can do the work to figure it out.
  5. The problem is the mutation would then have to be tied to the stat and they aren’t. once the stat is changed the mutation counter is completely separate from the stats themselves, so there is no look back. this is a problem that could be solved with mods. They had over 5 years to make the change you are asking about. It’s been asked for repeatedly over the last 5-6+ years.
  6. @LegendBrightscales It can happen because of server saves and crashes. If the server crashes shortly after you arrive to a server, it can roll back to a point that the character wasn’t on the server for. the new system they put in place sort of catches those moments but if it restores the character because of that, you will know because your character is now neked when it was clothed before. it doesn’t restore characters 💯 of the time but it does catch most of the problems.
  7. cakes have a cool down timer between consumption. WHen you come back from being away for a long time, the game does the feeding to catch up all at once. This is a problem with ones that feed on things w/ cooldowns between bites. It means the game tells it to eat 10 cakes so it won't die immediately. But it can only eat 1, so the game calculates after that and finds it to have zero health from still being at -3000 / 6000 food and kills it. ALso, by all 3 sharing the same trough - only one of them could eat one cake when you got back to the area. The entire trough would be on cooldown after the first cake was eaten. Then the other 2 would die right away , and then the one that ate the cake would die anyways because the 1 cake wouldn't cut it.
  8. This is pretty much how the game has always been. Using the dino to farm xp is pretty pointless. They almost always gain more xp while in pods then they would being used out in the game worlds.
  9. THey don't like fire, so torches can be handy. Its one of the first things you can make, there's a reason for it besides the games horrible lighting. Also, you can escape them in water. Pump oxy to pump swim speed.
  10. IF its in the cloud, then instead of creating a new char, you should have clicked download character instead of making a new one. It would still be in the cloud, but you can't move off this stupid new one you made. You need to now go to a server that you can download your character to. A good server would be genesisone or genesis2 as both are easy to get to a place to leave the server. Then you have to go back to the original server, and move that new character off. Then you go back to your original characters server location, and then transfer them back to your original server. If you just go and overwrite your new character by downloading straight away back, you might do more damage than you want to deal with afterwards. Follow the directions above and don't try and find a faster route, it *could end badly.
  11. The question is a bit confusing. You spawned in ones with specific colors? They of course have no mutations. You can always take one with a mutation and breed it to your clean line here. Can a dire wolf who has never inherited give a mutation? It can , but its a % chance of that happening. If you are breeding with a dire wolf who has already caugtht a mutation, then its a 55% chance the baby resulting from a mating inherits that mutation. It will inherit the counter 100% chance, but the actual stat itself is a 55% chance of passing on. Maybe refine the question a little if this doesn't help clear things up.
  12. This does happen on official servers sometimes. I had one finish on Gen2 rockwell and when I came back I was a totally different character at level 1. I then logged out and back in and I was back to my old char. I'd call that one of the more lucky results. I've seen a few people have to restart new characters and have imprints restored via GM. There are things we do on officials that I don't know if you were doing as well though. WHen you finished the fight, were you standing on the ground? If you were on your mount instead, that might be part of the problem. I don't know all the reasons why, but its been a common thing we tell everyone to stand on the ground. Don't jump, don't ride on your mount, don't hover in the air when the session is ending. This is one requirement for finishing with less issues. edit* -We also dump all our stuff into a tame, so that way if our character does blank, we keep our stuff. edit** - if you want to see what happens when you are teleporting but in the air. Have a friend start a teleport on a tek teleporter, and the moment they initiate the teleport, jump in the air. You should find yourself somewhere far far away from where you were actually headed. Over water maybe even.
  13. I think its more of a problem of too many creatures to vote for in the first place. WC was asking all the voters to read up on 10 different species and then keep all their unique names in mind when ranking all the animals. I know for myself, it gets hazy after my first 3 picks are set. Is it surprising that the animal with the simplest name wins the day? Mentioning the word abuse when trying to describe the voting calculus is distracting and doesn't help to make the case.
  14. Not what I mean. Typical ark animals will have a chance of pooping or dropping an egg when unpodded right away. I was asking if doing that had any effect on hesperonis since that works for other animals.
  15. Have you tried just podding and unpodding the animal?
  16. You can test out how it is going to work using old legacy server saves that are still available from when the official servers were launched. it’s super easy and just note, the player added images are going to shock you because of how large the saves are because of them.
  17. On animals that were set for deletion, this happens. This will happen more often now that few people are playing and clearing out animals on meat runs. so animal was set for deletion before you spotted it, had you left the area and not tamed it, it would have deleted on its own soon enough. You start to tame it and delay that action. if you are present with the area loaded into memory when it finishes taming, all good. If nobody is near it and it’s not loaded into any players field of view when the process finishes, it will blank. the only solution is to make sure you are present the moment taming process finishes. There’s no way to know ahead of time what animals are slated for deletion.
  18. You can get that helmet to over 1k durability with better blueprints and craft skill boosting, carry a coupe extra, and avoid direct bites from gigas regardless.
  19. @Feralkyn - they patched the taming over level 150 ferox a long while back. Ferox do track from what I remember, they used to anyways. I used that a bunch when taming them on fjordur. Sanguin elixir does work on them. Notable animals that it doesn’t work on that I didn’t see mentioned early in the conversation, all water based tames. You can’t use the elixir while floating in water. If you can somehow stand while trying to tame a water Dino, that would be the only way to make it work. notable bugs when breeding ferox. Ferox are 2 different animals in one. That means on the first transformation, that first tame has matching level totals to the small form. Once you start breeding however, the big form total will begin to deviate from the small form total. This will have one complication that’s difficult to work with once you start talking reaching max level. if the combined total of the big form will reach over 500, then the baby will disappear upon birth. So even if you see level 412 on the baby when you use an incubator, it’s not showing you the big form level at the same time. If the big form is inheriting over 500, that baby will not show up upon birth. also, mutations, that is something I never fully understood. I saw mutations effect the small form stats but I am hazy if the the big form stats can be mutated. I can’t remember if the chance to mutate was only small form or it could go to big or small making it tougher to spot the changes as there would be 14 possible places for a single mutation instead of 7.
  20. The epic version of the game is essentially the same game that is on steam. If you back up your game saves, you can probably copy them over into the steam version's save folder.
  21. I have trouble understanding where you get this "massive amount of people" stat from. I've played for 5 years, and didn't see a mass exodus from cryopods or tek for that matter. Considering tek has been in the game since I started, maybe this happened before I started playing? The largest drop in players I've seen came the week after they announced the closing of official servers. But I'm all ears, where can I read up on this statistic you allude to?
  22. It probably doesn't help with all the player added images piling up for each server. Pods just made room for other problems to build up and take over.
  23. On PC, mods can help with this problem. Otherwise, unless you know its name and creature ID# , you are out of luck. This is why its best to catalog the creature IDs of your favorite tames, then you can use the command to teleport right to it.
