Is Movement speed Useful in Ark Aberration?
SunsetErosion replied to ZeroFusionDrift's topic in General Discussion
Leveling movement speed is the only thing you should do. Life is about moving forward, do this as fast as possible... Its 2024, everything has to go faster... Speed shouldnt even be written down as "speed", its better written as sped, i mean its faster to type so you gotta do it... Edit: What do you mean? Character movement speed? Tames movement speed? Plans for Aberration? Luring Reapers, scouting the surface? Surviving a Gascloud or Mooshroom cloud, is done by having some HP... Getting around in Radiation zone is usally not done on foot, so why invest in toons mevement speed... -
Some typical Random generated "Females": I dont know whats with the hair. But its clear that the Female toon doesnt have its skeleton made very characteristic... It fits the Male toon a lot more, at least it doesnt appeal to be unrealistic or making it look like an extreme anomaly. (I know there are females that are unlucky and have this kind of body-build, but its not really common, nor does it fit a "young and athletic" toon for a "survival game" After a good hour of work-outs in the character creation I was able to get it to look more to my preferences again and that helps for a better "total-immersion game-experience" again Walking around on the Island like a HillBilly is funny, but it doesnt appeal to me that much...
-
Im not sure if this has any advantage over creating a new toon on your SP world? The UI accesed by scissor is terrible for now. In SP I just take over my old stuff with new toon... My old toon looked elegant and smooth. I cant get the same amount of elegance in it. Not even close. It looks like a "Female" Hooligan at best... I dont want to spend hours trying to get it back. It wasnt too hard with the previous skeleton... Would love to be able to select skeletons or something.

Like the guy that was always "too busy" when you try to reach him. Never to be found anywhere. He made the Steamboat Willy Overhaul... When they found his "work" by lack of better they decided to publish it anyway... And promote it with pride. Turned employee of the year...

My formerly beautyful pretty female character is now looking like a imbred big booby momma with poop in the pants shaking it proudly. And its flexing her butt muscles everytime I stop to have everyone stare...

That big chunk of wood you run into, too high to get over... That little steep cliff thats going to need a ladder to get ontop of... I would like to have less difficulty traversing terrain and obstacles. Let the walk button make you able to get into some kind of climb mode where step-height is increased. When running into a fallen tree. Let your toon make some kind of horde movement, trip and roll animation or whatever. Not hit the chuck like its a wall. Now it feels like everything above 45% angle is beyond impossible. Some other terrain though you can practically run up at 90% angle, like some builders. Higher angles will slow you down for sure. But I think humans would be able to run, climb with hands, crawl upwards, up to a 60% angle. Maybe I need a reality check, but when you run into a 60% angle slope you dont run into a wall. A decently fit person could use momentum to get up pretty high... I guess I would like moving around in general to be more smooth and less limited.

Amazing! I find it weird though that after 70 million years, its just there, only a few meters away from the open sky. I always imagen fossils to be found 50+ meters deep or something. Makes me think what else is below us, right under our feet and we dont know about...

Showing Appreciation to WC and their GM’s

I am not going to give the GMs name. They can probably figure out how well this person does its job internally... But it was also not Rose It was on Server PvE-Island-343 -
Showing Appreciation to WC and their GM’s
SunsetErosion replied to TriniB's topic in General Discussion
I play Ark a long time, I find myself really lucky to not have to deal with any of that stuff big time. No real hurtfull character losses... Though I was really protective of my toons, respecting strict rules for myself I never did anything really breaking any COC though. I only got all my pillars "protecting" Queens Hall in Abb removed. I knew it was too much, I had every facility set up for public acces in that area though, I blocked everything else... I had it pillared for about 2 years before it finally got removed. I was very glad they only removed the pillars and not just "All my structures"... So even though I was "victim" They handles it pretty decent, again... -
Showing Appreciation to WC and their GM’s

I have had some decent help from the ASE official Gms. But the irritating part is that you have had to scedule most appointments 2-3 weeks into the future. I live EU but most appointments that were open were USA time, so... Because of strict rules and limitation on what you can help for, I doidnt bother many times, i just cryed it out. But the 1-2 times I asked for help, the help was pretty decent. GM On time etc... There was also this one time an official GM came to help someone else on the server and he/she changed the daytime. He said in Global: Sorry, Couldnt see *Anything* In my mind I was taming a Megalosaurus and it waked up and ate all my pets... Not really, but it was a weak performance from that GM, wasnt neccecery i would say... I probably have a screenshot, I record EVERYTHING. I think the GMs name was Raptor or something... >> Joke he said: "Sorry needed some light 😆" and it wasnt GM Raptor. -
[Solved] Is there a mean to spawn a dino with mutations on ASA ?
SunsetErosion replied to Elgar's topic in General Discussion
I think creatures have like this Sample ID thing. I think you will need a mod that re-creates creatures using this ID. I am not sure this exsist for ASA. But I hope i remember this correctly and there are mods for that, at least ASE... -> Looking for it, but cant find it... Maybe it was an option on the dino-recovery ticket form... Im not really helpfull, sorry... -
Hi, ASA: I would like some help getting the creatures in my SP world to have less torpor. I can change the HP, Melee easiiy but I am having a hard time figuring out how to change the amount or torpor both wild and tamed creatures have. I change the Torpor and resistance per level etc, but new dinos dont seem to have lower torpor stats. What can i do to affect torpor levels or torpor infliction? Thanks Pipinghot But I am still wondering if there is a way to actually decrease level amounts of torpor. I really want to make the game more interesting by having way lower Torpor/Resistance levels, so that eg. a Argy lvl 200 cant tank houndreds of bug stings and not have to worry about a thing...

Hi, I am playing ASA singleplayer now and I feel the lack of excitement walking with my dinosaurs across the Island. Is there a way to increase their spawns locations across the map? Not to have them only spawn at their original, way too easy to avoid, locations?
-
If you store them full with Kentros, I think they have the potential power to destroy all the evil in the world.
-
Yeah. To make SP a bit more exciting, I always disable the "Use SinglePlayer Settings" Not sure how its really called but its in the options and gives a SP handicap boost. With SP-Settings every stat gets insane boosts. I think Stats like HP are like doubled. So that makes all wildlife just a bunch of meatbags and they can hardly do more than nibble on your pets toes... Either way, wildlife threats will be gone a few good hours into the game. Once you got your 100% imprint lvl 225+ Rex, most enemies are not a real threat anymore. Then progression is going for Bosses and then wait for the next DLC. Will take some time for sure to get your Boss armies ready for Dragon, Alpha Bosses, Overseer...

I know it partly is. Doesnt make my official-servers experience less frustrating. But its not only my pc. The official servers are laggy as Pego, and for whatever reasons I cant even properly connect. I get timeouts or something I dunno. I dont want to troubleshoot it because its probably an endless battle. The connecting issues, event gifts not working, AI stupidity, general lag, Inventory crashes, the list goes on... I have decent internet and a decent PC, even though its weak compared to modern Pcs... Yet I have significantly less problems running SP, the difference SP - Official is insane. SP is enjoyable for me for now...
-
I quited official. Even though I played official for about 99% of the time on ASE. It isnt playable. I can hardly connect. I play SP for now, but I think I will be tired of it some time soon (Probably when my files get corrupted at some point with no decent possible recovery without a huge rollback to a previous save...)

Yes, thats why I had my egg farm on the far end of my base. To make them go in and out of stasis if i would be doing stuff in my base. Good to know its actually a fact and its on wiki or something. I always had a really strong feeling this was the case. If you want to really boost things up, it might be an idea to have a paracer with a small hut on it, place a bed in the hut. Then have it set to wander in a pen somewhere at a distance it will get your egg farm in and out of render. So that the egg layers are constantly getting the first check for an egg drop. Only thing with this is that it might get stuck or derp out and stay out of render distance. And mind that ASA has a view distance and a distance for stasis. Not sure if they are the same on your server. (You could check this by having a hostile dino follow you. If it is following you and after getting distance, its not visible anymore. You stop. If it wont come back in visual range it means it was put into stasis.) If that set up works in your advantage, it will be eggstravaganza. I hope so...

Force feeding and stim feeding only works for Phiomia in my dictionary... So I dont think you can manualy get them to poop faster. Only wild/enemy dinos you can Roar at with a Rex. If they are small and lower level than the Rex the roar will have effect. They will poop because scared. But its not about poop. Somehow I also constantly mix this pooping up with my reasoning. But it doesnt mean anything in this discussion, the OP questions are about eggs... Anyway its also a method thats will need a lot of prepping etc. Pooping is not the same as dropping eggs. Not sure about it in depth but yes, mainly true. Maybe there is some kind of catch-up system for the server though, like with food in babies in stasis. I mean, Does the server really wait for the breeding to initiate after its cooldown is dropped to 0? How long? Hours? Days? I have logged in a lot of times looking at animals and their CD was reset, but no pregnancy or whatever. Could have been other people there though to render them in ofcourse. Or do "time-outs" nullify that the action took place somehow? Either way, you only have to control and change the males options to manage the breeding sessions. Also you can also breed with ORPed dinos on PvE, if they have mating enabled...
-
The only thing that might give a boost to creatures' laying of egg/poop speed is, what I sayd before, getting them in and out of render distance, or maybe it will help if you cryo them and release them. Every time they are uncryoed they will drop feces. I am very much unsure this will also have a chance to drop an egg. But it could be... Both of these methods are very time consuming and probably dont appeal to you. Maybe try to find a way to lower the cooldown on breeding intervals so significantly, you can just leave them on mating and they will drop eggs continiously. Not sure if possible... Fertilized eggs can serve as normal eggs in almost all circumstances... Edit: Not sure why I forget the obvious. Oviraptor can boost egg droppings. Maybe also mate-boosted 0.o
-
Pfew. I have no guarantees, but: Speed multiplier: The time between dropping the egg on the ground and the popping of a baby. Higher numbers means faster popping. Lay egg interval: THere will be a cooldown after 2 animals have bred, before they can breed again. Higher numbers means they can breed more often.
-
I do not know if this works on ASA also. I didnt have the chance to create a big egg farm yet. But at my ASA official PvE base, I had my egg farm right on the edge of render distance from the center of my base. So every time I would walk around for various reasons in my base, they would get in and out of render distance. I believe this somehow boosted the speed of the eggdroppings. Keep in mind that it is probably also so that eggfarms will probably only pile up 6 eggs. After that, they will not lay eggs anymore unless you pick those 6 eggs up. + If you have PvE mode on your server, and there are multiple tribes on your server. The tribe that is offline will get OfflineRaidProtection. Creatures in ORP will poop and drop eggs at a significantly slower rate.... So if they would check out your base, there is only a small chance your dinos will poop or drop eggs.

What do you mean? Everything working as intended on official servers: https://streamable.com/kb63q7

Cant see what baby dinos need for imprint ASA
SunsetErosion replied to obat2553's topic in General Discussion
What language are you playing in? Maybe its not translated yet, or its text is overlapping and stuff like that. Maybe its an UI setting that makes it not properly show. Then maybe try different UI scale, resolution. I didnt seem to have much problems reading what they want, but though I also only needed to walk them and that was clearly showing in text, not just an icon... -
Some species that have never been suggested New species!
SunsetErosion replied to Matteu's Suggestion in Game Suggestions
Yes i have thought about this before. I see it more of a 1 time tame or something. Something you could capture in a Big jar or something, similar to catching fish in a basket and releasing it afterwards. It would be hard though to cryo an entire swarm, or to manipulate it through commands. Swarms have their mothermind, doesnt feel like it would be "tamable" But with the right mechanic it could be a great debuffer or an anti- turret or trojan horse (invisible for turrets) for PvP. Maybe have it react to the pheromone dart or something.
