Hey Survivors! Welcome to the last edition of the Community Crunch for the year of 2016! First and foremost a huge empathetic THANK YOU to all ARK Survivors! It’s been a crazy journey so far, and the year of 2016 has been filled with many milestones and memories for us here at Studio Wildcard. 2016 saw ARK grow much further and beyond what we had ever anticipated! Needless to say, without your feedback, support, and creations over the past year, this would not have been possible. The passion displayed by the community throughout is second to none and we are proud to have you along for the ride; whether you’re a new survivor from PS4, celebrating your one year ARKiversary with Xbox One, have been here since Day One on Steam - you mean the world to us and we truly appreciate all you do. ARK will continue to march onwards towards its 1.0 Release. There is still a fair bit of content we are working on getting out to you. It’s going to be a very exciting few months with the release of the TEK Tier, Ascension, UI Rework, of course, the addition of many new items, features, and creatures to behold, not forgetting the Ovis! As each day passes, ARK gets one step closer to fulfilling its destiny as the ultimate Dinosaur Survival Experience of our dreams and with your continued support throughout 2017, we’ll get there! In celebration for the end of the year; from the 31st of December at 12 PM EST until the 1st of January at 12 PM EST Survivors can have a chance to win a special exclusive New Year’s Skin! Raptor Clause will be making extra stops for PC players, so make sure to pick up its extra presents to receive the exclusive skin. Console players can obtain the skin on our official servers by Fishing a fish of at least than 2.017 size. Get it? Single-player and dedicated server owners can spawn the exclusive skins to give to themselves and their players by using the command below. Thank you all for an incredible 2016. ARK: Evolution Event: New Year Weekend! To celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another, Survivors across ALL Platforms will be receiving a special Evolution Event perk! The event will run until Monday the 1st at 12 PM EST all Official Servers will be undergoing this evolutionary change: 1.5x Harvesting Rate 1.5x Taming Rate 1.5x EXP Rate ARK Winter Sale! The Steam's Winter sale is now live which means ARK: Survival Evolved can be tamed on PC/Mac/Linux for a 60% discount and the Scorched Earth Expansion Pack is also available at 33% off! Or introduce someone new to the game, this holiday season by gifting them the Survivor's Pack Bundle! Xbox Survivors wanting to join in on the holiday fun can pick up ARK Survival Evolved plus the expansion Scorched Earth from Microsoft's Xbox Preview Program. From the 29th of December, the game and its expansion pack will be on a special sale for Xbox Live Members, check out the details below! And of course, we recently launched worldwide on PlayStation 4. So everyone can grab the game and dive right in! Community Contests! Player Procedurally Generated Maps! The Procedurally Generated Map system allows players to make their own ARK maps by determining a myriad of landscape options from the heights of mountains, depths of valleys, and the number of lakes, rivers or oceans, to the kinds of each biome they want, and more! Compose shots from any position, adjust with post-process filters, capture HDR images in high-fidelity formats, and share the screenshots in 360 via a smartphone, PC or VR headset. There were 3 potential categories for survivors to enter their shots into and they were the following: Three Categories Super Resolution: These should be taken at 8x Super Resolution. Players can optionally use Depth of Field effects accessible in Spectator mode by pressing the [Delete] key. Panoramic 360 Stereoscopic 3D: These should be taken at 4x Super Resolution, in 360 Stereoscopic 3D mode. We will crop them to 2D for web display, while also providing the 3D version for viewing within VR display. Freeform: Any settings, whacky and creative use of Ansel filters are encouraged. Adding humorous titles/captions in Photoshop is also acceptable for this category! And now without further ado, here are your entries!
