Arkal
Hi so how much meat do I put in my wild caught 20k food daedon and 10k food daedons if I wanna heal my baby wyverns? Like do I put like 10k (if it can hold that much) and how long would that 10k last? Should I use several feeding troughs too? I’m new to this and would like to know. Thanks and Happy Halloween. Kristofer
DO NOT use raw with Deadon as it is only worth 10 food (50 to all other dinos). However cooked meat is worth30 and will spoil less. The pig will try to eat from the troughs first but more is better as it will go through lots. If you on xbox i can get you voidwyrm eggs ( Tek Wyvern ) which are raised on raw meat> GT: Kris Nutta11

It should last longer and it also provides more food per piece. Also if you happen to have sheep, you can breed them early, raise them up, put points into their health, then you would have meat on demand. When you harvest them, use a chainsaw or theri, and you will slot cap yourself two or three times over. And since its mutton, it gives more food stat than just regular meat. Granted, its a bit more of a hassle than just throwing out a giga and bronto with 5 cookers on it and chomping everything around. But with that said Iv heard a bit of complaining about meat runs too, so maybe its not that bad of an idea anyhow.
Arkal
Okay, I’ll cook meat. Prob only gonna ever raise babies this method on the event. 3x harvesting is easier so yeah, also can I get some info on how long meat lasts in a 20k food dae? And if I wanted to leave it and a bay or few overnight how long can they last? Thanks.
DirkInSA
@Arkal : Some stuff to consider: Auto Heal is (in the past, dunno about now) is a little glitched, and can sometimes be set on, but not always work despite food fullness and availability. The food usage of a pig is related to how much health it restores, so if you have one kid x, if you have 10 kids, 10 times x. If you leave a pig on auto heal close to any baby it will ALWAYS do its thing because the baby is always "under spec" and therefore injured. If you have more than one pig close to a baby they will BOTH ALWAYS heal because the baby is always "under spec" and therefore injured. So always on auto heal with more than one pig is pointless. Over a long term (like over night) a pig on auto heal will eat you out of house and home. No matter what food you provide where. You also need to consider torpor effects - hungry babies using "health" to stay alive will eventually go to sleep without forced stimulants (berries). And that ain't good! Never mind all that, Wyverns are quite resilent - especially high level guys. In other words if taming rates are also at 3x you may be able to just heal the baby to as far as it will go, and it will survive on its own (no extra healing) overnight. What I have done is put healing on until the babies are maxed for their current development level, and then turn off for several hours. That gives the pig time to eat, and the baby time to not die because it has high health to feed from. ---Edit At 6x growth rates a wyvern will never need intervention, it will mature from egg to adult on its own. Unless you are in a unique "cant do" position (like trying to raise 20 or 30 babies at once), it is way easier to just build a trap, knock out a low level mama and feed the kids. At normal rates, they only require food like once every imprint.
