How do I keep my Pteranodon safe?

Normally I would not care but she's the prettiest Pteranodon I have ever tamed on any server.  I really don't want to loose her.  But I am awful at accidentally killing my pets.   My small base is to spiky.  I'm going to impale her if I take her home.  I could control her better if I had a saddle but that isn't for a few levels yet.  On Official and leveling up slowly.  So yeah. 

If I put her settings on passive flee will she be safe from predators?  I have to leave her out in the open cause no place else to build (land grab) so no shelter and no saddle yet.  I wont take her hunting until she's got more health.  Tamed her at level 4. 

What do I put her settings at while I am logged out / off hunting?

just build a small structure around her. Even thatch will do as long as its completely sealed up since wild dinos wont even aggro at that point. You can do the whistle land option on a thatch foundation, then just close her in for the night We've done that to many dinos that we couldn't transfer out of a server we weren't built on, and I'm on pvp.

Or find qa neighbour thats willing to accomodate a spot for a flyer, plenty of people dont mind you landing on their roof out of harms way

Just build a 2x2x2 around it until you can afford a saddle.

Ask if anyone would make you a saddle if you supply the mats, or if anyone has a saddle to sell, they are fairly cheap, I have given away loads of ptera saddles.
