Jostabeere
I have a wild lvl 100 Giga I want to take down. And have an Ascendant Longneck with 469.2% damage. Calculator says I need ~70 shots. I got 220 shots into this monstrum and he is still running around beneath my Quetz. It is even possible to bring him down?
AndresXXVIII
You need to trap them, if you don't hit him every 7 seconds it losses a lot of topor
Mctoozle
The shots have to be with no delay between them at all and you want head shots which is why you need to get that giga stuck inside a pen of some sort. If you have to chase it around even for a few seconds you are losing a few shots worth of torpor. Also, the rifle has a long reload delay so between each shot you have some torpor reduction that the calculator probably doesn't factor in. Tycoon01
You want to use tranq arrows on dinos like the giga who have insane torpor regen. Tranq darts inflict their torpor much quicker than tranq arrows and when that torpor stops going up, it begins to go down. A dino like a giga will remove it's torpor very quickly. ReasonanRhyme
i use 4 metal dino gates as a trap then use tranq arrows because cheaper and with the amount of health a giga has it has very little chance of actually dieing
m4Marci
You pretty much have to trap it... also any time it eats, it loses virtually all torpor and you're back to square one.
Jostabeere
Any tips on how to build a trap? Assuming it spawns at the Giga mountain near Dead Island.

Metal dino gates, setup 3 of them and a large bear trap in advance. Lure the giga into them, and then as it's stuck in the trap you place another gate to seal it in. Be sure to have enough HP on your quetz or whatever flyer you're using in case it gets a hit or two in on you. Fairly large range so be careful when placing the last gate. There should be several videos on youtube that displays this tactic.

There is no headshot multiplier for gigas (and for several other large dinos for that matter)
kortniechan
Use a crossbow instead of rifle, it reloads much faster and does torpor over time instead of instant, so it stops the torpor from droping so fast.
Jostabeere
So I watched it up and tested it in SP. Surprisingly easy when I get the hang of how to build a trap. Thanks to everyone who suggested it.
