    Beginner Servers:

    Tomorrow, May 8th at approximately 10 am PST we will be launching a new set of servers called Beginner servers! Beginner Official Servers are an experience for new ARK players to test the waters without the threat of thoroughly developed tribes.

    Unlike our regular servers, these have undergone some changes. First of all, there have been some limitations on how much a player or dino can progress. Player levels hit their cap at 44 and the highest encounter possible for wild creatures is level 30. Tamed creatures can receive up to an additional maximum of 30 levels. Due to the progression limits, some engrams are not achievable through levelling up but are found via supply crates. Some other changes include the disabling of alliances and tribe sizes have been limited to 5 members maximum.

    Once established on a beginner server survivors can choose to exit into the rest of the official server network by uploading their character and moving to another server for the full ARK experience. Downloads of any kind are permanently disabled on Beginner servers so once you upload your character and leave the server you can't come back.

    Speciality Servers:

    Speciality servers are alternate game modes for ARK that last for a short period of time. Each new theme will bring on a new set of challenges different from that of servers currently available. However, these seasonal servers will wipe and change theme after a determined period of time.

    We're looking for input from you today. We've set up a thread and we'd appreciate if you could drop your suggestions into the separate thread below. Changes will revolve around edits that can be made to the existing config. These types of changes can include many things like: tribe/alliance size, anything related to dino stats and taming, server rates, etc.

    Fresh Servers:

    Tomorrow, May 8th at approximately 10 am PST we will be launching a new set of servers on Xbox and PS4 called Fresh. These Fresh servers have downloads disabled but uploads enabled for a period of 60 days. After 60 days transfers will open and they will no longer be called Fresh servers. Players are invited to play and build up on these servers without the threat of existing alpha tribes before joining the official server network at the end of the 60 day period.

    Community Livestreams!

    Beginning this Thursday on May 10th and continuing every other week on Thursdays, the community team will be doing biweekly livestreams! 

    During these livestreams we will have Zen Rowe, Chris, and Jen bringing ARK news, celebrating modding, and the community as a whole every other week. We'll be playing ARK, showing off mods, and showing off your community creations for all to see. Survivors are invited to join us in the chat (and sometimes even in-game) to play and talk with the community team and other developers.

    At this time we're going to begin gathering up your community creations to be displayed on stream. We are accepting any type of ARK related fanart. This can be drawings, videos, builds, ANSEL screenshots, handmade crafts, anything ARK related!

    We will no longer be running Community Crunch contests here on the forums. The Community Crunch will transition into being our weekly news post, while the biweekly streams will become our new Community celebration initiative. We will instead be running contests on the livestreams, with a chance to win something special if your submission is the best of the bunch.

    Mod Community Updates!

    Last week we made a change to the Mod Tutorial Contests. We increased the length of time for contests going forward to be a full month, and we doubled the awards. This should make it easier for people to participate without feeling like they have to sacrifice on their mods, and for non-native English speakers who found it difficult to put something together under the previous time constraints. This change takes effect with the current Freestyle tutorial contest which is now accepting submissions until the end of the month.

    Now, it's time to announce the winner of the 4th Mod tutorial contest. The theme was "Space Day," a day dedicated to math, science, technology, and inspiring people to take an interest. The winning submission was a collaborative effort between RedDwarf and Pleasure for a Solar Panel mod. They also included a bonus tutorial video that shows the entire process of creating the custom assets for the mod! 

    All of the submissions and links to the tutorials are available in the contest thread.

    I thought there was a 1.5x gestation this event.  I don't see that change.  It's showing regular gestation since the event started.

    Yes but it's not an instant change, it takes a short while for the change to kick in on the servers.

    Can somone tell me why WildCard got rid of the normal 2x multiplier that was active everyday. They got rid of it a while back but I never knew why. If someone can please let me know it would be amazing, thanks!!

    Can you still get a 100% imprint on babies with the 1.5x maturation modifier when the imprint timer is still moving at 1x?

    This update isn't about a evolution event.

    I think the new servers are kind of nice. It will be great for starters to give the game a real chance to get a feel of what official feels like with out the threat of being blind sided day 1 hr 1 by a  alpha when you just got the game. From my experience the game was start on solo or a with a few buddies on a unofficial dedi and run scared from dilos for a little while then after you figured out a little about the map learned about the mats and maybe spawned in some for high end junk for kicks and giggles. You moved on to a pve for about 20 minutes realize it's stupid then move to a pvp where you will find out humans are terrible but, if you dig deep you will find out there are some okay people and after a further look you can make some real friends. These people will be loyal and will have your back through thick and thin. You climb your way to the top of a server. Before you know it you will have alliances, fame and respect from your peers. Not to mention all the Epic battles , Sieges , Hard debates with rival tribes that can decide war or peace by just a razor edge margin. You will have backstabbers , espionage and some real deep emotions will be shown I mean for some real hard emotional stuff will happen where you need a stock of cleanex on hand at all times.

    So much of this game can only be found through this crazy struggle. These new players will have a big stepping stone as these starter servers will let them dip there toe in to get a feel for it. Instead of chucking there ass strait into the fire and saying deal with it.

    You won't even be able to make auto turrets and tame cap at lvl 30. Why would they waste their time? Not to mention you can only reach lvl 44 max. Maybe a handful of sea clubbers but, other then that I don't think you will have any serious trolls as theirs no transfers to the server and as soon as you transfer out you can't go back.

    There mite be a few old veterans going there to maybe meet up with some people to star up ark again in a quiet server to build up a character to transfer but, even on a normal server if you hit the boxes on the weekend you can reach lvl 60 in a matter of a couple hrs.

    plants are a joke. A BS lvl 10-20 rex can munch them to nothing not to mention they can be drained very quickly.

    Sooo I'm a nooby here, and I was wondering where I can find the ip for the beginner servers, because I was knocked out ,kidnapped to a base, looted, handcuffed, and force fed berries plus filled my inventory with rocks so I had no option but to quit the server. So if someone could lead me to a list of link thank you!!!
