Yes, that will enable tribute downloads, so anyone from anywhere can bring is something from single player they spawned in if they upload it to the tribute.

So yes, it makes the dynamic gateway work, but it also makes your server vulnerable to...mean folks.

so here is my experience with that stuff

yesterday it was working, a little bit later got fatal error and so one

so I uninstall and reinstall everything

got each server to work with this command line, from the same directory ect, tributedownload is active

start ShooterGameServer.exe TheIsland?listen?SessionName=island?AltSaveDirectoryName=Islandsave?MaxPlayers=4?AutoSavePeriodMinutes=15?QueryPort=27015?Port=7777?GameModIds=731604991,719928795,656525905,552761829 -NoTransferFromFiltering -clusterid=paswy -ForceAllowCaveFlyers -nosteamclient -game -server -log

but still , as both server are visible and and can play in each of them, when I go to a tribute download and click on cluster servers.. there is Nothing, my two servers are not in the same cluster !!

at this point I really don't know what to do as I thik everything is setup correctly

i got it all working now 2 different folders for the servers and one folder for both map saves and cluster using symbolic links works just fine

only problem i have now is that i have to start the scorched earth server first then my center map for it to work or else i cant get into the scorched earth server weird but it works now thanks guys

using ark server manager with 2 profiles

Hm is the Join /w Char Tab grey when you travel back from the center to the scorched earth ?

I have this problem at the moment .. with my PVE Servers all works fine .. but with the pvp server .. you can join from the scorched earth to the island but you cant travel back O_O

Hm i think its the offline protection..  but i dont know.

Somewhat working unofficial dynamic cross-ARK transfers using cluster servers with mods installed.

Currently running 2 ARK servers (The Island & Scorched Earth) and the game ALL from the same install on the same computer for some friends and I. 

I'm able to transfer my player data from The Island to Scorched Earth and back again from Scorched Earth to The Island using the "Cluster Servers" option and then "Join w/ Survivor" option at the Obelisk/Tribute Terminal. There are two options when using Cluster Servers.

"Join" option will connect you to the other server and you can create a new survivor and play. This option won't transfer any player data and just allows you to play on that server as if you disconnected and connected to that server. Pretty seamless and working fine.

"Join w/ Survivor" allows you to transfer your player data over to another server. Clicking this immediately disconnects me from the server and seems to freeze my session and I can manually disconnect from the server at that point. Now when you try to connect to the server you were trying to transfer to, you'll find your player data has transferred over successfully. Although a bit clunky, its indeed working but wish it was more seamless like the "Join" option. You'll wake up with all the items you had in your inventory when you transferred (I have no restrictions currently set) and tribless. When you transfer back you'll still be in your tribe, no worries.

You're also able to transfer dinos & items (also player data if you prefer this way) back and forth by uploading them and then downloading them at the Obelisks/Tribute Terminals (depending on what the server restrictions are).

I'm using three mods on my servers (Naturalism, Metal with Glass Set & Stairs Mod with Rounded Walls). Haven't seen any issues using mods with scorched earth yet, although I haven't really played much because I was spending all my time trying to get this to work haha

Not using any server managers or third party server hosting, all running off of one comptuer using the following batch files, located in 
\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64

Make sure you forward all the necessary ports in your router so you're able to see the servers in the server list.

I tried to keep it as basic as possible with my servers, thats why i run the servers and the game all from the same install. These servers share one set of configuration files which hasn't been as issue yet, but having unique configs for each server would be ideal. But for now everything is kind of working, it needs improvment but im able to transfer things.

Thanks for the valuable information. What about NoTributeDownload=False option? People want only the same clusterid servers can transfer each other. So, is there any solution for transfer characters and dinos with "NoTributeDownload=True" in GameUsersettings.ini?

well i'm missing Something but can't figure out what !

servers are running, clusters folder is created, port are correctly forwarded, I can see my servers in the list of the launch page and the ico ARK+SCORCHED is blue

but at the obelisk I can't see anything in the cluster list ! even with the firewall disabled

mysterious mysteries for me I'm desperate :-(

I successfully spawn, attacked, forcetamed and rode it. Within a few minutes of launch though. Might be bugged now.

how the hell could they release this DLC without having a working & safe transfer system?

isn't there a single person in their team who realized it would be a big problem for unofficial server owners ?

I am having the same problem as you. the servers wont show up on the server list at the oblisk

I have get glitched from my tribe when i transfer between ark servers. When i join all of my stuff is still mine but if i go to tribe manager it only gives me the option to create a new tribe. Doing so glitches me from my old tribe and nothing is mine anymore. The only way to make it show up that i am in my tribe in tribe manager is to relog. I feel like most people dont know this though and will encounter the same problem as me.

  • How Cross-ARK Data Transfer works:
  1. For Officials, you can 'upload' Survivors from TheIsland or TheCenter via the "ARK Tribute" option available at any Supply Crate or Tribute Terminal. You can then 'download' these Survivors onto an Official ScorchedEarth Server of that same game mode. Currently only Survivors are allowed to travel TO ScorchedEarth (they can not have any items on them), in order to keep it balanced for the time being. However, FROM ScorchedEarth you can transfer Survivors, Items, and Dinos, which you can then download (via the ARK Tribute) onto TheIsland or TheCenter. So indeed you can bring all ScorchedEarth Items, Dinos, and Survivors (and thus Scorched Earth Engrams) onto TheIsland or TheCenter to extend your capabilities there. When transferring a Survivor between ARKs using this method, Tribes should be retained. However Alliances will not be retained, and will need to be re-setup on the other side.
  2. For Unofficial Servers, if they wish to allow dynamic Cross-ARK Travel, they will need to run two Servers on the same box from the same directory, and then you can launch with the following commandlines:
    ShooterGameServer.exe ScorchedEarth_P?SessionName=MySession1?AltSaveDirectoryName=Save1 -NoTransferFromFiltering -clusterid=mycluster123
    ShooterGameServer.exe TheIsland?SessionName=MySession2?AltSaveDirectoryName=Save2  -NoTransferFromFiltering  -clusterid=mycluster123

    (the clusterid must be the same between the servers!)
    (to avoid saves from clashing each server should use distinct values for: ?AltSaveDirectoryName=<SaveFolderName>)

    you also have options like:
    ?PreventDownloadSurvivors=False
    ?PreventDownloadItems=False
    ?PreventDownloadDinos=False
    ?PreventUploadSurvivors=False
    ?PreventUploadItems=False
    ?PreventUploadDinos=False
     
  3. Meanwhile in singleplayer, you can just use the "ARK Tribute" option and then go back to the main menu and host on the other map, and download your data accordingly. We will streamline this process soon as well.
     
  • How to Host ScorchedEarth dedicated server
  1. Just like a regular ARK dedicated server, except the map name is "ScorchedEarth_P". You do not need to own Scorched Earth to host the map via dedicated server, of course.
     
  • NVIDIA Ansel and new Cinematic Depth of Field UI
  1. To use NVIDIA Ansel (requires NVIDIA hardware) to take super-cool 360 degree (optionally stereoscopic) screenshots and Super-Resolution screenshots, run the game with the "Launch ARK with NVIDIA Ansel" option on Steam (or run with -allowansel), then specifically in a singleplayer game (without a UI open) press Alt-F2. With the Ansel overlay open, you can alter the various capture settings, and snap away (you can also drag the mouse and use WSAD keys to move the camera)! Personally I recommend entering ARK spectator mode beforehand with the "enablespectator" console command, and there is a new "Depth of Field" menu you can access in Spectator mode by pressing the [Delete] key, which allows you to control and save cinematic depth of field fx (very useful for cinematics creators as well). Note if you're taking 360 degree panoramic screenshots, we recommend leveling the spectator camera with the [Home] key before you open the Ansel UI, otherwise your panoramic screenshot might appear screwed. Have fun and let your inner nature photographer run wild!
     
  • Scorched Earth Cosmetics
  1. If you own Scorched Earth, you'll gain immediate access to the "Safari Hat" and "ARK Thorny Dragon Saddle" cosmetic skins. They're pretty nifty! There are more cosmetics to be gained as rewards within the Scorched Earth map as well.
     
  • Size of PC Update
  1. The PC update was so large because we repacked nearly all Textures in the game (using mip sharpening to make them look better), and all meshes (removing unused secondary UV's to save memory), and all Shaders (to support a new SkyLight rendering technique). We had to do this at some point for visual and memory reasons, and determined that this large update was the right time to go ahead and make this one-off change.
     
  • Primitive+ on ScorchedEarth
  1. The Primitive+ TC is not currently officially supported on ScorchedEarth -- it will be soon, but first we need to have Cedric go through and make sure that you can actually, you know, survive on the map using such simple tools! That will happen in September, and we'll then host some respective servers for that configuration too.
     
  • Xbox TheCenter Update
  1. It's being worked on, and will be released in September.
     
  • PC TheCenter Update, Archaopteryx, Tapejara
  1. These are being wrapped up and should be released in about a week. Stay tuned for them!
     
  • Scorched Earth Dino & Item codes

  1. The Scorched Earth content will be made available for Modding (as part of the main ARK Dev Kit) in a couple weeks. Gotta package it all up for a massive devkit update. In the meantime, as far as we know, existing Mods should work fine on Scorched Earth itself.

  1. Due to the intense heat, generators take damage when powered on Scorched Earth, and most water-containers have the water evaporate over time. Use clean-energy Wind Turbines (at a high-wind location), Molleratops and Water Wells for longer-term water needs!
     
  • Why is my screen all white-streaked and my view input oscillating?
  1. You have likely spent too much time in the heat, and have become seriously heatstroked! Cool yourself down to de-heatstroke, and you can also now make Ice Water by putting a filled waterjar or canteen into a Fridge for 60 seconds, which will cool you down even faster when you drink it (and iced water provides general hyperthermic insulation so it's good to have on you in hot climates!)

I did everything everything exactly as it says to bring over my character, but when i spawn in on scorched earth my character isnt on the download list, i went back to the server i was on and my character is missing....is it because i was on a primitive server and scorched earth isnt a primitive server?

The thing is not only the cluster server can upload their data each other but also servers with x100 settings in the elsewhere can upload their data and attack everything.

I was trying to setup clustering via the guide here but it's pretty hard, found out CitadelServers offer clustering from 15 slots, perfect for me, put in a ticket and got two servers clustered in a few minutes, been a day now, no issues, best host i have been with so far, tried vilayer before and they had terrible support

  1. Just like a regular ARK dedicated server, except the map name is "ScorchedEarth_P". You do not need to own Scorched Earth to host the map via dedicated server, of course.

 

So i read this as i only need to buy the Scorched Earth on the Xbox i would be playing the game on. I updated my server and attempt to load a dedicated server with Scorched Earth and it takes me to the screen the buy the Expansion. Are you telling me i need to spend an additional $20 just to run a dedicated Server for my friends??
