  1. Orcinus citoniensis – wolf of the sea Dossier: Common Name: Killer Whale Species: Orcinus citoniensis Time: Late Pliocene Diet: Piscivore Temperament: Loyal Wild: Orcinus citoniensis is mostly seen among the ark’s shallow waters. Some tribes even call them wolfs of the sea, which is a very accurate title if you ask me. Thanks to Orcinus citoniensis intelligence and speed it is an excellent hunter and is definitely the apex predator in its habitat. It developed special hunting strategies to take down creatures much larger than itself. Even the brutal megalodon or the fearsome mosasaurus are no match for an Orcinus Family. Besides hunting Orcinus citoniensis is a very playful animal and tries to interact with humans or smaller animals whenever it can. Especially young animals try to sneak away from their mother just to play with tribes near beaches or rafts. That’s how humans are gaining their trust in the process. Domesticated: Once tamed Orcinus citoniensis is the perfect mount for traversing the oceans and all of its secrets. It is a very fast swimmer and can adept even in the most dire situations. This feature makes it a must have for any sea-based tribe. Due to its social nature, it sometimes takes care of babies of other species. Creatures raised by Orcinus citoniensis tend to be more powerful and smarter than its relatives. That aspect makes even bigger tribes think twice before attacking a tribe which has access to Orcinus citoniensis. Taming: Young Orcinus that swim around beaches or rafts can be passive tamed by playing with them. Orcinus will try to come closer to your survivor and ask for a special item. Depending on the item you need to activate a specific emote in front of the young whale. If it worked the whale jumps out of the water and after some time it asks for the next item. Those items could be trophy drops like Tusoteuthis Tentacle, Megalodon tooth and Basilosaurus blubber or just food like kibble and honey. Abilities: Aquatic Nanny: After some feedback I decided to remove the nanny ability completely since we are getting gigantoraptor with Ragnarok anyway. I added a XP sharing ability to still have something that interacts with young creatures. XP Sharing: Adult Orcinus can share their gained XP with young creatures. If Orcinus reaches a certain amount of XP, it can interact with a baby for a short period of time to transfer some of its XP. The baby getting imprinted in the process. The fully grown-up baby now gets levels based on the amount of XP the Orcinus transferred. This would give it a unique Ability to interact with babies since Gigantoraptor will be the ultimate nanny. So Orcinus could be more like a teacher for young animals. Hunting: Every Orcinus citoniensis can be specialized with a trophy drop. Feeding Orcinus citoniensis a Tusoteuthis Tentacle will give them damage buffs against Tusoteuthis (temporarily). This works with every other trophy drop as well. Megalodon tooth = Megalodon Tusoteuthis Tentacle = Tusoteuthis Basilosaurus Blubber = Basilosaurus Alpha Leedscthys Blubber = Alphas and leedscthys Alpha Mosasaur tooth = Alphas and Mosasaurus Alpha Tusoteuthis Eye = Alphas and tusoteuthis Alpha Megalodon Fin = Alpha and megalodons Ammonite Bile = Ammonites Bio Toxin = Eels and jellyfish Chitin = Dunkleo and eurypterid Etc. Orcinus citoniensis also gets a pack buff like direwolfs or the allosaurus. The pack leader also inflicts a small debuff, where other animals in the pack deal a bleed affect, or just extra damage after hitting the same target as the pack leader. Ambush: Orcinus can ambush out of the water and try to grab a nearby flyer or animal near the beach. Successful grabbed creatures now get dragged back into the water. The grabbed creature will lose oxygen if it tries to escape Orcinus bite. For this ambush Orcinus is able to leave the water and beach itself for a short period of time. (It could work like Xiphactinus from AA) Echolocation: After some feedback in the comments, I decided to build a useful ability around echolocation. Thanks to AudioDK and Gecko1611 for giving me this idea. Orcinus will be able to send an echo into the water. If Orcinus has no trophies in his inventory it will mark any creature nearby that could drop trophies and will collect them more efficiently after killing those creatures. After consuming a trophy and sending an echo it will mark any creature in a wider radius that would be affected by the damage buff of the Orcinus. Orcinus will be able to see its level and health to decide if it wants to attack or not. After killing a specific number of creatures within the buff timer, Orcinus will be able to convert all the farmed trophy drops and make it into a blueprint. (Rarity depends on the amount Orcinus was able to collect during the timer) Orcinus could also locate cave or deep sea drops nearby with its echolocation, making it a valuable creature for underwater caves. Outside of the Cave it could mark the deep-sea crate which is spawning on the map with an arrow pointing into the general direction. So it’s more like a hunt for the drop rather than an accurate position reveal. Drops found with this ability could get a buff in loot quality. Immobilizing Sound: As in the comments mentioned by PrimalNacho, Orcinus could have a call that immobilized and could be disorienting the target. Unmounted and wild creatures would be stunned for a short amount of time while other players or mounted creatures may have their controls switched. (I don’t know much about Ark PvP, but I can imagine this being very useful) I think this would lead to some random but also funny moments. Attacks: Left Click: Bite Attack Right Click: Tail Attack, that stuns the target for a short time, while the Orcinus turns around for a fast escape. Space bar (near surface): Orcinus jumps out of the water. If near a beach or a flyer like Pelagornis is above Orcinus it starts the ambush attack. Pressing Ctrl: Echolocation Pressing X: Send out the Immobilizing Sound. This ability has a cooldown. Pressing C : Orcinus citoniensis consumes a random trophy out of its inventory to activate the hunting buffs. This ability also has a cooldown. And that’s my submission for Center. A friendly but also strong creature in the ocean is something that is needed. Additionally, I think a killer whale would just perfectly fit into the ocean of Center.
  2. Art once again done by the amazingly talented Riskybiscuits Species: Shastasaurus Sikanniensis Time: Middle-Late Triassic Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Passive Wild The Shastasaurus is one of the largest ocean dwellers I have ever witnessed on any of the Arks rivalling the Leedsycthis in terms of sheer mass and being too large for even the mighty tusotuthis to grab a hold of. However, despite its titanic size it is incredibly passive mostly ignoring all other creatures in its vicinity as very few are a threat to it with it only really focusing on smaller schools of fish which it feeds on. If a threat does arrive though such as a group of Mosasaurs or a Leedsycthis it has the special ability of echolocation and is able to detect the threat coming from a mile away. Not just that but it’s echolocation is so powerful that it can charge a large sonic blast with it being able to disorient nearly any hostile allowing the creature to make a quick getaway. Also, much like it’s close relative the ichthyosaurus it is a very social animal living in a tight family unit however due to the sheer size of the Shasta's appetite each member requires an enormous quantity of food and as a result the family units must separate to try and find food on their own to avoid competing for food sources. Sadly, due to the family units splitting up to feed many shastas will never reunite with them and will become incredibly isolated as a result. Domesticated As most Shastasaurus have become isolated and alone due to separating from their families all it requires to domesticate one is simple companionship the best way I have found to do this is with it’s close relative the Ichthyosaurus simply bring a group of them over and the 2 species will begin to interact with the Shastasaurus eventually joining the group and therefore your tribe. Once tamed the Shastasaurus makes for an incredible beast of burden able to carry an insane amount of weight due to this a lot of survivors have constructed a special saddle on the back of the creature this saddle is essentially a submarine as anyone inside it is able to breath and survive the intense pressure of the deep ocean. The saddle also comes equipped with Torpedoes that are essential for any underwater combat as they deal heavy explosive damage. And that’s not even the best part of the saddle when the shastasaurus surfaces above the water the saddle will transform and essentially turn the Shastasaurus into a whaling ship coming equipped with Harpoon launchers these harpoons come equipped with Metal wiring that is attached to each harpoon once fired at a creature it prevents them from moving allowing survivors to easily catch creatures. Abilities and features ·When underwater Saddle acts as a submarine survivors will not lose oxygen and will be able to build in it ·Saddle fires torpedoes these are underwater specific projectiles that deal heavy explosive damage upon impact and they can only be crafted in the inventory of the Shasta (similar to the Equus) ·When the Shasta surfaces the saddle transforms into a whaling ship where the submarine dome disappears and opens up to reveal Harpoon guns these guns are manned turrets that come equipped with metal wiring attached to each harpoon and when fired at an enemy creature it prevents them from moving and essentially binds them this can also be done on enemy players and land creatures and if a creature is small enough you are able to reel them in closer even larger creatures can be reeled in if enough Harpoon guns are fired on it. However the guns have their weaknesses to compensate firstly a creature or enemy player can break out of the Harpoon if they struggle enough (similar to the desmodus or Bloodstalker) and the Harpoon turrets have a durability meter and after a while will require repairs ·Saddle also comes equipped with a Submarine scope allowing you to view the surface of the water while submerged it also acts as a magnifying glass and shows the current health and torpidity of a creature ·Cannot be grabbed by a Tuso due to it’s sheer size ·Has echolocation this essentially gives the Shasta a built in submarine radar allowing it to detect any hostile creatures or players in the immediate area and Highlights everything nearby ·Can charge up a sonic blast with it’s echolocation when fired it disorients enemies essentially acting as a flashbang grenade and enabling the shasta to make an escape if the fight looks to be unwinnable this blast also can disable tek structures and gear including tek underwater bases ·Is very efficient at gathering oil from underwater oil veins and gathers Black pearls effectively from eurypterids and other creatures that drop them ·Saddle is similar to the andrewsarchus saddle as it doesn't require anything to power it and will produce oxygen in the submarine mode for no cost ·Shastasaurus can use it's massive tail to create large whirlpools in the water these can trap enemies in them for a short period of time and disorient them ·Can use a type of suction feeding to suck smaller creatures into it's beak and grip hold of them ·If swarmed the shasta can fire off a sonar pulse this will be a concussive explosion of sound coming off the shasta that will push all enemies back when the shasta is being swarmed ·Can only be tamed by bringing a bunch of tamed Ichthyosaurus or other Shastasaurus and putting them on wandering near it this will cause the wild shasta to interact with those tames and slowly begin to integrate into your tribe however if one of it's companions or the shasta itself is hurt the taming effectiveness will decrease and if one of them is killed the shasta will no longer be tameable and If the player attacks one of the shasta's companions or the shasta itself the whole group will become hostile to the player
  3. Aegirocassis is the biggest dinocaridid. They were swimming in the Ordovician sea, and filtering and eating plankton. I submit them as new creatures of The Center. abilities: Can stab the front and attack the back Water breath to medium distance Head has armor Immunity to the poison of Cnidaria Reduce the rider's oxygen consumption Produce the organic polymer (filter from seawater) Get ammonite bile safely from live ammonite You can passive-tame aegirocassis. They prefer ammonite bile the most, and others in the order of angler gel, leech blood, and meat. They eat the same foods after taming. Dossier Name: Aegirocassis Species: Aegirocassis cthuluhutridens Time: Early Ordovician Diet: Filter feeder, sometimes Carnivorous temperament: Passive Wild There is no stranger than Aegirocassis in this sea. Despite their huge body, they can't say that they like meat and fish, and they gather plankton and detritus with the thorns of their arms and eat it. This quiet giant has a developed shell on the head, and uses its pointed tip when taking animal matter or protecting itself from external enemies. They quickly stick out them head and Charge. Although swimming is not very fast, predators who are afraid of being skewered in this way hesitate to hunt Aegirocassis. In addition, one fisherman said aegirocassis can spit out the water flow to beat back an attacking dunkleosteus. Domesticate Aegirocassis can be domesticated with scrap meat and fish fillets, but apparently they prefer softer and easier to eat, such as ammonite body fluids and leech blood. I don't recommend knocking out because they don't like being suppressed. However, if you get their loyalty, the hard and sharp shell like a knight's armor and weapon and the ability to spit out the water flow will strengthen both your offense and defense, and if you skillfully handle the gills on your back, you can extend the time to drown. But…aegirocassis is good at filtering polymer components from the sea. Are you ready to process it ? wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aegirocassis
  4. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INTRODUCING----ANOMALOCARIS Anomalocaris are native to the waters of The Center, and can be found amongst shallow areas, as they are constantly on the prowl for trilobites. These 'odd shrimp' are semi-aggressive but inquisitive , as they often swim up to survivors out of curiosity. -------------------------------------------- LVL 1 STATS: HEALTH:300 STAMINA:250 WEIGHT:200 DAMAGE:25 TORPOR:575 -------------------------------------- -Anomalocaris also serve as an aquatic healer! When fed silica pearls they can heal themselves, but when fed black pearls, can also heal nearby allies similar to the land dwelling Daeodon. -Anomalocaris can also manuever in any direction similar to the Tapejara. -To tame, simply swim up and feed black pearls aka a passive tame. ---------------------------------------------- ARK NEEDS MORE SEA LIFE!!! dossier by: santaclaus470
  5. WILD- Emarginachelys Cretacea is one of the most devious beasts any survivor could ever lay eyes on. You would expect to see Emarginachelys dominating lakes or lying in wait within the spacious waterways of the ARKs, but you'd still be surprised. Despite its massive lumbering frame, the creature has even been spotted clinging halfway up the sides of seastacks thanks to its devastating claws! Its abilities don't end there, since like its modern counterparts, it can sink right to the bottom of any depth of water and lie in wait for seemingly days, until just the right moment to launch out its neck and clamp down on anything it deems a worthy meal. DOMESTICATED- I've heard tales of a single warlord who's managed to tame the Emarginachelys, and the method used was nothing short of insanity. Supposedly, the way this warlord tamed what the others called "Marge the Barge," was using certain trophies the creature deems "treasure" that can be gifted until it accepts a survivor as a worthy master. One would have to seek the creature out while its appetite is sated and deliver the trophy. Only after satisfying the creature's greed will you be able to utilize an unstoppable, all-terrain juggernaut! TECH & IDEAS- -Tames by eating a carcass, then gaining a satisfied status similar to the Carcharodontosaurus. Then, must be hand-fed Alpha trophies to gain taming percentage. Can be fed twice before satisfied status wears off, then must eat another carcass. -Might enhance loot drops from defeating Alpha creatures. -Rocking a massive 30% damage resistance and a deep health pool, unless it is attacked while its neck is outstretched, then taking normal damage, this creature encourages timing and patience. Also ignores stuns. -Has a powerful attack where its head can reach out over it's own body length in distance in front as well as over its body and to behind its forelegs. Does massive damage but takes up to 2 seconds to retract its head, taking normal damage until its neck is fully retreated. -Saddle is located under the crest of Emarginachelys' shell, protecting the rider from dismounts and stuns. -Walks/sprints at around the speed of a Trike on land and has a slow in-place turn. Can sink to the bottom of water/ocean bodies, gaining considerable walking/sprinting speed and can swim around Baryonyx speed. -Can use a tail slap if attacking while aiming behind itself. -Can climb much like a slower rock drake using its powerful claws, but no gliding. Climbing speed is the same as its walk/sprint. -Thank you for checking out my creature submission, I thought having a tanky, aquatic, and tactical counterpart to the Rock Drake would be a great way to accentuate the Center's amazing use of biomes and verticality. Regardless of potential changes, I'm greatful for your consideration and wish the best of luck to all of these excellent submissions, most of them blow mine out of the water Here's a slapped together concept art!
  6. General appearance: A small arthropod posses massive eyes compared to its relatively small body. Dollacaris posses claws used for attacking prey and ones for propulsion. Location: The dollacaris is found in abundance underneath the floating island The Center has become best known for. However they can be found in the open ocean, but much less reliably. Behavior: The dollacaris, while small, is a strict carnivore. However due to it's size and poor swimming ability the only thing on the menu for these unfortunate creatures are already dead creature and trilobites, as neither of those are very good at running away. This gives them a relatively skittish temperament, fleeing from most creatures and survivors. Taming: Due to the aforementioned skittish behavior this creature is a difficult one to get close too, this does not bode well to anyone wanting one of these small allies. And to top it off it is IMPOSSIBLE to sneak up on one of these creatures, no amount of ghille and bug repellent means otherwise. So clever survivors have been able to lure these creatures close with food, aka, a corpse. Once this creature begins eating one can than approach it with its favorite food, pearls. Black pearls work best but a more cost effective method does lie in silica pearls. Tamed: When tamed (luckily for all of us) this creature does eat meat after being tamed. However you don't want this creature for eating your food so what does it do? This creatures massive eyes allow it detect just about anything in nature and even things invisible to the naked eye. This is most apparent when a male and female dollacaris are "linked" to eachother (a setting accesed in their behaviour tab). When activated the male is set to be stationary, able to be latched to various surfaces, and survey an area. This adapted in nature so that the male could gaurd young dollacaris while the female stays with the young. Through the linked female you can access the males view of his nearby environment just about anywhere (his view range is about 20 feet in any direction). The male in this state can see things such as drop contents, creature level, and creature gender. This is not all its useful for, when given 100 black pearls and the dermis of any one creature, this creature can locate any member of the species that the given dermis belonged too in a given area. This can be done up to 3 times as the dollacaris is a small animal with a small brain that can get overloaded with information easily. The detectable creatures seemingly can't be swapped out as the dollacaris grows an affinity towards them and won't let you take away its precious dermis action figures. Misc: the dollacaris can half the weight of anything in its inventory. Despite being aquatic it can survive out of water just find, however, it is remarkably slow on land. Credit given to user Ladyteruka for ideas regarding this creatures abilities
  7. Proteroctopus ribeti Is from the Jurassic period. So after the last vote i have decided to make my own creature. The idea behind it is that is that i would like to create something that will be useful as well as fun! While this dino may have a few more features than most it is a well needed water dino. As the biome needs more attention and this will make people want to DIVE IN! Please leave any comments or suggestions below and please make them constructive! Size: Like most Cephalopods Females are larger than their male counterparts. The Female will be ridable and a bit larger than the Megalodon. While the male will be around a 3rd of that size. Males will be ridable but not able to grapple most sea creatures due to size. MOVES: Attack: Left click will allow you to do a normal attack using all of the tentacles. Harvest: Right click will allow you to harvest nodes. Grab Attack: By pressing C you will be able to grab and immobilize creatures underwater. Perhaps by using stamina and/or playing a short minigame to succeed. This will allow you to tame creatures underwater in a passive way. However this will be ineffective for taming larger dino's like a Tusoteuthis or a Mosasaur. While grappled you can safely dismount and tranq the dino! Dash: By pressing X you can dash in the water allowing the tentacles to slam together behind you. creating a small amount of bubbles as well as forcing you forward at a greater speed! Ink Jet: By pressing Ctrl + C you can shoot a jet of ink temporarily stunning a creature and allowing you to escape! ABILITIES: Gathering: Females only After killing and eating a crustacean (The Octavius treat of choice) you can activate its gathering bonus. This will last for 10 Minutes at which time you will need to find a new treat. The first main benefit for the Octavius is its ability to harvest underwater. While using a saddle it adds small linked chains or metal strips along the tentacles. This allows the Octavius to squeeze underwater nodes harder making them crumble and easier to gather. Granting a %20 boost to resources gathered in this way. Resourses that can be gathered this way are Oil, Metal, Stone and Obsidian. The second main ability of the Octavius is the ability to gather Pearls. Due to its many arms it allows it to take great care when gathering pearls and faster at that. This allows a 20% Boost to the amount of pearls gathered gathered. As well as gathering Chitin from underwater crustaceans. This However does not effect black pearls found naturally. Passives: Paternal Instincts The female Octavius is able to nurture its young in the water and usually dies when does so in the wild. However when domesticated the paternal side of the Octavius helps it to be a great mother. Allowing it to feed and imprint on all underwater dinos in its area. I does require more food to do this as it takes a lot of effort to keep the babies happy. While in this state the Octavius will also use its ink attack to deter and fend off predators. To activate this you will need to have the Octavius Near at least one baby and select "Nurture" option in its spin wheel. Once active the Octavius will not allow you to ride it and will be fully focused on its duties. Deep Sea Oil: The Octavius has a really handy ability. It creates "Deep Sea Oil" This oil when placed with pearls in its inventory will allow the oil to seep into the pearls. This will turn them into "Black Sea Pearls" and will allow you to use them in place of Black pearls. However you will need to create two times the normal amount of Black Sea Pearls as needed by normal black pearls. This can be done with the Male or Female Octavius. Usually this is the preferred job of the male Octavius though because if moved this will halt the production of the Deep Sea Pearls. Octavius are immune to eels and jellyfish. However this comes at a cost. If the Octavius is hit by either it will excite the nerves controlling its Chromatophores. This will cause the Octavius to become a bright blue color which for a short time will cause it to attract other sea creatures. During this time it is recommended that you flee with the ink ability. TAMING: Taming the Octavius is fairly straight forward. It is a passive tame. You will need to tame a Trilobite and find an Wild Octavius (usually on the sea floor imitating a rock) You will then have to provide the Octavius its most favorite treat! It will come out of hiding and feed! Once it has been fed enough it will tame. This process is the same for both male and female. During this time you will need to protect it from wild dinos. BREEDING: Breeding the Octavius is a bit more complicated. Underwater you will need to activate breeding. After activating the event the Octavius will cuddle and interweave their tentacles. Then after the female will take on the appearance of a stone while it nurses its younglings. However due to the size of the Octavius they do not have many babies like they would in the wild. During this time the mother will not move and will need to be fed by a person to keep its food stable. It will eat more than normal and will not gather food itself. If its food reaches zero the mother will start to turn a white color and loose health. This will be your warning to feed it fast. If you fail to do so it will die along with the babies. You can feed the mother with trough. But it will only do so at half the rate. slowing down the food loss but not stopping it. WILD: Octavius are passive in the wild and will not attack unless provoked. usually they will ink and run.
  8. Wild Styxosaurus can be found across the oceans of The Center, typically near shallow waters. It usually hunts fish yet may prey on smaller animals that wander too close to the water. Taming In order to tame the styxosaurus, the survivor must mount the styxo like an equus. The survivor must then feed it biotoxin to put it into a narcoleptic state until it's unconscious. Then the player will have to feed it fish meat in order for it to tame. Domesticated Once tamed, the styxo will be one of the fastest underwater creatures in the game, being able to travel very long distances thanks to its vast amount of stamina. The styxo's primary attack is a simple bite. The styxo's secondary attack is a grab, which is able to pick up smaller prey such as fish, cnidaria, electrophorus and ichthys. It is even able to grab players, including off dinos and rafts. If the styxo gets close to shore, it's able to use this attack to grab players off beaches. The styxo's third attack is a dash that will increase the styxo's speed and allow it to latch onto larger creatures and perform one of two abilities. The first one is a bleed, which makes it especially useful at taking down alphas. The second ability is a narcotic inducing poison that rapidly decreases a creature's torpor. Each will last for 30 seconds. The styxo's final ability is being able to passively heal allied creatures, both marine and land. In addition, the styxo is immune to cnidaria and eel attacks and performs a hooting noise when danger is present. Feel free to leave any other suggestions in the replies.
  9. Dossier : while pontolis may look like a common sea lion it is much bigger . The largest individuals can reach lengths of a small elephant. More surprisingly is that these animals despite lacking tusks pontolis is an early ancestor of the modern Day Walrus. Like Walrus pontolis feeds mostly on fish and shellfish but will aditionally go for birds and other small animals when given the chance Wild : wild pontolis usually aren't aggressive but once provoked pontolis won't be scared of using its powerful teeth and body mass to fend of any rival or thread in their territory . Legend has it that a wild pontolis once killed an carnotaurus in the heat of battle. Male indiduals als Tend to be more aggressive than females and will attack during mating time anything they view as a thread to their dominance . In the water pontolis is a good swimmer but is vulnerable to attacks from larger marine predators and on Land its Mobility and speed are low wich makes it a easier target for larger terrestrial predators Domesticated : domesticated pontolis act like the common sea lions you may expect in a zoo . They are friendly and playful. When digging for clams pontolis sometimes diggs out hidden underwater treasures and resources wich has made it an important animal for many Costal tribes as they trade the rare Objects dug out by the seal . Clans also use the animals meat and fur . In combat tamed pontolis are the ideal combat mount as their strong skin Tanks a lot of damage from Blows and ammo. Pontolis saddles even can be Equiped with an small gun similar to chalicotherium Taming : taming an pontolis isn't easy as their tough skin Tanks damage from direct Blows such as punches and from heavy objects . Once kocked out pontolis can be tamet by getting fed with fish
  10. My Deinocheirus is gonna be a mid-game creature! Since The Center’s a Majority water, I wanted to make a creature that could be good for traveling the map but still leave room for some power and utility! So, I present to you, Deinocheirus Amphibidae! It’d be a semi-derpy creature but one that has a good sum of utility! I also wanted to bring a bit more life to the swamps! Something that wouldn’t try to kill you outright, but if you get it angry, you’ll be sorry you did! I felt inspired by some other creatures of past votes! It’d be almost as big as a Paracer, so you couldn’t miss it! So, take a look why don’t you? 🌎Habitat 🌎 Off the bat with a home and native habitat! As I said before, Deinocheirus would make its home in the swamps! They’d also live in the underground area of the map! Figured there could be something down there to reward those of you daring or lucky enough to make the trip! Saddle Seating - 3 Ability - Hydrated Like the Shadowmane and Spino, Deinosuchus would get the Hydrated ability! It’d get a boost in Health Regen, Movement Speed, Sharper Turn Radius, and Melee Damage! It’d seem fitting that a creature whose claws could cleave targets to pieces and can traverse the watery map with ease gets this buff! With a high health stat, yeah, you’ll be sitting on the beach letting your giant derpy duck play in the water for a bit, but it'll be worth it to keep it alive! Ability - Fish Filleting Since there’s creatures that take up roles of some tools, I figured we get one that’d be a living, Sickle! The Deinocheirus in the real world was presumed to eat plants but also consume fish! So, in the game I’ll make it a way you can not only get a lot of fish, it’d also be great for getting raw Prime Fish! Also, it’d have a weight reduction for the resource. Ability - Mobility Switching When the Deinosuchus enters deep enough water, it’ll gain webbing for its hands and feet and act as paddles for you to swim through the sea. Since you’d need a way to get from place to place, this is going to be one of its primary mechanics. Couple it’s decent swim speed with Hydration, it’ll be a very decent swimmer! You don’t have to worry about it going under either as it’ll have a natural buoyancy to it! Ability - Torpor Immunity To add a level of difficulty to this passive tame, the Deinocheirus is immune to Tranq Darts and Arrows! I’d figure since it lives in a biome where a good portion of the creatures deliver a blow to knock prey out, it’d built up an immunity! Taming You’ll have to be quick to feed this creature! It’ll have a preference of food! Ranked from the standard berries (Narco and Stim Berries Included), being the lowest, then Raw Fish, then Crops, then Raw Prime Fish meat! During the feeding interval, you’ll have to watch for the claws as they will swing them around in delight as you feed them! If you're in the path, they’ll do a decent bit of damage on you. So be careful while you try! Dossier Wild its interesting to see a creature in the swamps that can stand toe to toe with the Paracers. However, Deinocheirus Amphibidae is a pleasant surprise! Grazing in the swamps of this ark, they seem to neader and wade in the muggy waters. Grazing on the local flora and hunting occasional fish. It is refreshing to see docile and albeit friendly creatures wander the swamps. It seems to be ignored by most creatures, I have seen only one instance where a Sarco attempted to attack one, only to see the Sarco be ripped to shreds by the Deinocheirus's claws. While I was observing this massive creature, I noticed it has retractable webbing along its claws and fleet. Perhaps it's able to use its size and that webbing to swim from island to island of the center. I've witnessed the Deinocheirus gain a similar effect to the Spinosaurus when it's in the water! Perhaps it could rival the spino… Domesticated The Deinocheirus's claws make for collecting both normal and prime fish meat easy! Especially from fish like the Sabertooth Salmon and the piranha of its native biome. I've also seen that many tribes who want to show a sign of peace go for the Deinocheirus. If I had to give the creature a motto it'd be 'Speak soft and Carry a Big Stick.' This Gentle Giant is a fierce fighter if it needs to be. Especially if it makes contact with the water. Tribes who I've spoken with have all listed the same thing, Deinocheirus cannot be taken out by Tranquilizers or darts. However, they will not turn down being hand fed a free meal of Fish or Crops. They just have to be cautious not to get in the way of their claws that sway while they're eating. I do greatly hope you enjoy the Deinocheirus Amphibidae! It’s my first proper post! So, here’s hoping it makes it!
  11. Common name: Pelecanus Schreiberi Species name: P. Schreiberi Time: Early Pliocene Diet: Meat Temperament: Docile Wild I’ve never seen a pelican so large, but the Pelecanus Schreiberi was a species that we barely had any information on in my time. Even still like many creatures on the arks, this one seems to be bigger than any normal pelican size. This large bird spends its time flying overhead across the coast and oceans looking for food from high above before diving down at great speeds to snatch up prey from below. Domesticated Though not much of a fighter, other tribes have used the Pelecanus Schreiberi to go on hunting trips being able to bring back an assortment of small prey dead or alive to eat or tame. Some more daring hunters have used this great bird to dive deeper into the ocean in search of bigger and more dangerous things to hunt. A giant pelican, reaching sizes similar to the angentavis. Comes with a variety of potential abilities and features at its disposal. (more photos will be added as get them) Aquatic catcher Using its big bill, it can catch live or dead smaller animals into its mouth to hold onto for players to use for other purposes such as taming shadowmanes. Diver Like real pelicans, it will be able to dive underwater and (with a slow oxygen drain) swim around underwater to scout around and find prey to feast upon. Fish harvester Gains higher amounts of prime fish meat and fish meat from fish and other aquatic creatures. Bane of aquatic life Gains higher attack stats while fighting creatures that live within water. Potential tek saddle Similar to the tek helmet worn by players, the can gain the pelecanus schreiberi gains the ability to permanently breath underwater (at the cost of using element). The Tek suit may come with built in flashlights to help see in dark water. In addition It could also possibly have thrusters attached to the saddle to give the pelican a boost while flying or swimming underwater (while burning element) to cover more ground or escape enemies. Other potential abilities Option A: Spitter With things In its mouth, it can spit them back out and fire them at opponents to deal damage at the long range. It can shoot live creatures and also various materials such as stone, metal, silica pearls and black pearls (deals more damage than the silica pearls) and maybe even loaded cryopods to deploy creatures from afar. Option B: baby carrier Using its beak and bill, it can possibly carry babies from point A to point B safety inside its bill (minus bigger babies like Rexs would it would have to carry on the outside). Option C stun dive When high up in the air you can dive down into the water, dealing stun to anything in the area around it (much like what real pelicans do) Other info Taming method: A standard knockout tame, prefers superior kibble, then prime fish meat. (Only eats fish meat/prime fish meat when tamed) Saddle level 50-65 range Tek saddle unlocked by beating one of the center bosses or reaching a higher level like the 90-100 range? Spawns along the coast and across the oceans, hunts fish in the water peacefully unless attacked first then will either engage its foe or fly away If knocked out over or under water it will float on the surface of the water. Not much is known about this animal irl. We only have incomplete fossils of it that show us this pelican seems to have gone extinct with no future dependents. It was also similar in size to the great white pelican (though obviously for this game we have scaled this creature up to be more useful). Overall I believe this creature would be a fun idea and would provide a new way of assisting in taming of certain creatures and traversing the map in ways not seen often in the game. I’d be happy just seeing this creature make the top tens, thank you for the support! (I’m also open to suggestions and criticism to make the best creatures it can possibly be) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelecanus_schreiberi Thanks wiki for the info on this creature.
  12. Platecarpus is a small Mosasaur that lived in the Late Cretaceous around 20 feet long. I have no pictures or real ideas for the animal except three, It would be the fastest aquatic and be a deinonychus of the sea and Thermal Vision as they are closely related to monitor lizards. Plus, a taming method where you have to passively feed it Ammonite Pheromones. And that is basically it. Any other Ideas to add on will be happily used and the person who gave it will be thanked it the replies. Please look at Wikipedia for references of this creature.
  13. Wild Never have I seen a creature as good at moving around obstacles as the Nothosaurus. This creature seems to work exceptionally well underwater. It seems little fish flee from it, as though they don’t want to be gobbled up. Domesticated After asking around, I have found that almost no tribe on this ark is without a Nothosaurus. They seem to swim exceptionally well, as well as provide an easy method of moving around this ark. Hello everyone and welcome to my post, please enjoy and keep in mind these abilities are not confirmed if it wins. Primary attack: a bite Secondary attack: swap between climbing and not climbing, like rock drake 3rd move: a decorative roar Passive abilities: Climbing like a Megalania, a water buff like the Spino, and a new aquatic dive. more depth: Basically I do not want this creature to be overpowered, so I gave it primarily traversal skills, as well as weak stats comparable to a Kaprosuchus and a Megalania. Like the Megalania I want to give it the ability to climb over obstacles and up cliffs and overhangs. I also wanted to emphasize the water aspect so I gave it a water buff. Now for the new move: an underwater dive. I decided that if griffons and snow owl can do an air dive, why isn’t there a water version of that? This is essentially a griffon dive underwater. Sorry about no artwork.
  14. Edit made by me, Nothosaurus Model by Johnson Mortimer Hello survivors, I present to you the Nothosaurus, a fearsome quadruped dinosaur functional in and out of water, which makes anyone close to its presence watch out for its unexpected attacks and strange abilities. Such as its great mobility, radioactivity or ability to produce energy. If you want to know more, keep reading: Information Temperament: Opportunistic Diet: Piscivorous Wild “The Nothosaurus Mirabilis is certainly one of the rarest creatures in this Ark. Not only do they have his teeth like daggers, but they are also able to survive in element lakes where life is almost impossible. Apparently because of this they have mutated into radioactive creatures, which take advantage of any moment to stalk and leap on easy prey like survivors. Never underestimate them, as they are perfectly capable of competing with creatures bigger than them. ” Domesticated “Whoever has the skill and patience to tame it has a very valuable treasure. The great mobility of this creature allows pirouettes and jumps from the water or even climbing. Its radioactivity can also benefit you by making its victims suffer the direct effects of radiation or produce energy as if it were a generator. I myself have heard of a legendary soup made from this creature’s egg that assures mutation to the dinosaur’s offspring that consumes it. ” Ideas for Abilities: -Main Attack - Bite (Probability of inflicting radiation effect) -Secondary Attack - Tail Attack (Pushes enemies) -Secondary Attack when held down - Absorbes Radiation (activates radioactive mode) -Secondary attack (in the water) - Propulsion (Spin like the Pteranodon) -Jump button (from the water) - Jump -Jump button when held down and radioactive mode - Shock wave (consumes the radioactive mode) -Radiation immunity when riding -Breathe underwater for 2 minutes when riding -Produces energy in an area when fed element (Small area so that the Tek generator becomes not useless) -Has Hydration effect that allows this monster to spit radioactive liquid for 30 seconds -With the egg and other ingredients you can make a soup that assures mutation to the offspring of the one who consumes them. Size & Saddle Originally Nothosaurus is a bit bigger than a human, but for it to look better inside Ark I consider it would have to be in size between Spinosaurus and Baryonyx: Behavior -Lives in the element lakes of the radioactive zone -The Nothosaurus is opportunistic, it depends on the moment whether it is aggressive or neutral -It's terrestrial and aquatic. -Most of the time in water and swimming like a crocodile -When there are earthquakes it comes out of the water and sleeps on the shore Why should you vote for it? These are the reasons I consider this creature is useful for Ark: 1.New aquatic creature 2.First creature to have radioactive abilities 3.It makes the element lakes less empty. 4.Assured mutations Thank you for reading, be free to tell me suggestions to improve the creature Image made by Robert Fabiani1111
  15. WILD Protostega is one of the most interesting and mysterious animals of hostile Aberration. These turtles inhabit the entire water area of the Bio-Luminescent Chamber, spending most of their day hunting cnidarias. They will not attack the survivors unless they themselves are not touched. The speed of the protostega is quite high in the water but very slow on land, so the fight with it is not difficult. Hunting for protostega is necessary only for the extraction of a unique resource - a shell fragment, and so this turtle does not represent any nutritional value THE METHOD OF TAMING Prostostegs have poor eyesight and in the wild they mostly rely on light coming from the creatures themselves or the environment. That's why, survivor, you need to prepare the setting for a candlelit dinner. Be sure not to forget to cook a Blue Kambucha - the only treat for this turtle, which consists of Biotoxin, Rare Flowers, Aquatic and Ascerbic Mushrooms (made in Cooking Pot). Despite the fact that this drink is toxic to survivors and causes an effect comparable to the spores of poisonous flowers - protostegs love it and willingly take it directly from their hands DOMESTICATED These turtles have a pretty decent supply of health, which gives them an advantage during combat. Protostegs are also a real danger for alien karkinos, get it for yourself and you will get a supply of Organic Polymer for life. And if your dinosaurs are tired of fighting and they need recharging, then protostega can be an excellent replacement for daeodon - the main thing is not to forget to make enough Blue Kambucha. BREEDING Breeding these turtles is not easy. Since these are residents of one of the most inaccessible regions, they mate only at low temperatures around -30 °. Then the procedure is standard - you just need to hatch an egg and monitor the fulfillment of their desires
  16. The prionosuchus was the biggest amphibian in our world and in the ark it wouldn't be different but we're back to the subject and we'll talk about its nature (Image by Thomas Sutton) Wild: The prionosuchus multum is an amphibian unlike any other with its size approaching the length of a megalodon this giant of the subterranean swamps of the aberration prefers to hunt like sarcosuchus but not to be confused they are not in the same family so unlike its reptilian counterpart it has energy for great runs and excellent attacks this great predator has a skull of almost 1.80 m and its attacks are voracious Taming method: Approach the prionosuchus feeding him fish to calm him down remember to always feed him every 15 seconds he will die a violent death with him holding you in his jaws and you hitting nearby rocks while calming him down climb on the back of this beast and ride it like a mechanical bull after a while the prionosuchus will get tired and respect you for having beaten him and now you will have a big predator by your side Tamed and Wild Skills Rotation: makes a spin similar to that of the sarcus Ravenous attack: when taking the target in the mouth, it starts to hit that target in a stone or nearby tree attack that that target dies Bleed: applies a bleed effect to large creatures Bioluminescence: This ability allows Prionosuchus to avoid creatures that dislike bright light Luminous Tail: This skill brings a tail attack that temporarily stuns and blinds the enemy Saddle Skills: Prionosuchus has two types of saddles, a normal one that also works as a mortar and pestle and a tek one that adds 2 new attacks Element Bite: Holding the right mouse button with the tek saddle equipped charges an attack that when fully charged does 200% more than normal damage Elemental Propulsion: This ability allows Prionosuchus to quickly dash forward on land vote for this wonderful temnospondyl
  17. With all the features and creatures present in the oceans of Ark, most water bodies are quite empty, or have a lack of interesting fauna and floral biodiversity. A characteristic that my team and I hope will be implemented more into Ark 2 for aquatic environments, though for animals to be introduced to Ark. One taxonomic classification of animalia that is usually under-looked are crustaceans, with only the Karkinos being present in Ark on specific maps. For a new addition, why not a Carboniferous Period crustacean distantly related to Mantis Shrimp, crustaceans who have the fastest and strongest punches in the animal kingdom. For size purposes, most Mantis Shrimp are quite small with only a few species growing up to or around 40 cm's in length (specifically the species Lysiosquillina maculata), this fictional species will be quite larger than its early ancestors, both for adaptive radiation and biological purposes, and because about 80% of animals in Ark are oversized (common trend). Common Name: Aenigmacaris Species: Aenigmacaris tromeronychus Time: Early Carboniferous Diet: Omnivore (primarily Durophagous) Temperament: Territorial Tameable: Yes Rideable: Yes Breedable: Yes Torpidity Immune: No Taming Method: Knockout Preferred Kibble: Superior Preferred Food: Chitin Equipment: “Aenigmacaris Saddle” (Level 71 - Crafted at either a Smithy or an Argentavis saddle) Rider Weaponry: No Humans Can Carry: No https://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/collections-database/arthropods/crustaceans/aenigmacaris-cornigerum-schram-horner-1979-r88/ Wild "Lurking within crevices in the seafloor, Aenigmacaris tromeronychus is a gigantic species of proto-mantis shrimp that lurks in tropical and humid oceanic environments. Ranging from reefs to abrasion coasts, these crustaceans are more robust, aggressive and armoured than their Earth counterparts. Their most notable feature, the dactyl clubs on their raptorial appendages, have evolved chitinous plates and extensions of their exoskeleton that allow the mantis shrimp to strike at speeds faster than a bullet. Enough force to break through mollusk shells, the carapaces of trilobites and break bone in vertebrates''. Domesticated "Survivors who tame Aenigmacaris find that its specialised forearms, its eyes that are able to detect various wavelengths of light, its ability to block the attacks of foes with its telson, and its ability to turn and move at short-timed bursts quicker than a dime; makes this crustacean a perfect siege and shielding mount that can impact its surrounding habitat with the snap of its claws''. Anatomy Discovered originally and documented from 1978 to 1979 by Frederick Robert Schram and Jack Horner, the species Aenigmacaris cornigerum has been found throughout Montana, similar to other Aeschronectida crustaceans. However, Aenigmacaris has more characteristics prominent in this genus, and is considered more closely related to mantis shrimps or modern day Hoplocarida than other proto-genera. A. cornigerum was found in the Late Mississippian subperiod Bear Gulch Limestone, more specifically in the Heath Formation of Montana, while the species A. minima has been found in the Kinney Clay Pit or Kinney Brick Quarry, and the Late Pennsylvanian subperiod Madera Formation/Group both in the Manzanita Mountains of New Mexico. Not much has been documented about this genus, with these shrimp being on average, around 102 mms in length (the fictional species is around 5 ft in length and 4.7 to 5 ft at its thorax to antennae). Like most crustaceans in their taxonomic classification, they had a layered chitinous exoskeleton and were quite abundant in the fossil record in their given sites and formations. Aenigmacaris had the basic body plan of most Aeschronectida, that including 3 long flagellate antenna, an enlarged abdomen, a shortened thorax, 3 segmented thoracic protopods (appendages), cephalic kinesis, pleopodal epipodite gills, an articulated rostrum and their body plan being divided into four segments or tagmata (including a food-processing unit, the pleon (the abdomen of a crustacean) and tailfan (used in propulsion), the walking-appendages and the sensorial unit). The carapace of these crustaceans covers the entire thorax and their compound eyes are stalked on the anterior cephalon of the head. The paleoenvironment of the Late Mississippian Carboniferous Bear Gulch Lime in the Madera Group/Formation in Central Montana consisted of a variety of fauna and flora, such as the earliest Synziphosurina Anderella parva, different genera of shrimp such as Belotelson magister and Sairocaris centurion, Carboniferous Period Horseshoe crabs like Euproops, cephalopods (ammonites, nautiloids and coleoids), a wide array of worms (nematodes, bristle worms and ribbon worms), cartilaginous fish such as Belantsea montana, Debeerius ellefseni, Falcatus falcatus, Stethacanthus, Thrinacodus and Squatinactis montanus, Actinopterygians or ray-finned fish like Cyranorhis bergeraci and Discoserra pectinodon, and lobe-finned fish including early coelocanths. In the formations Aegnimacaris cornigerum specimens have been uncovered, many of these shrimp appear to have fed on small prey present in and around algal growths. Design While the original genus of Aenigmacaris lacked any presence of clubbed claws, the fictional restoration Aenigmacaris tromeronychus has features prominent with Holocene Mantis Shrimps, the only living ancestors that have the closest relations to these shrimp. For the design of this species, A. tromeronychus should have the base body plan of Aeschronectida crustaceans, such as Cragopsis socialis with features like the shield carapace over the thorax, its limb count, feeding appendages and telson: https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Crangopsis-socialis-Salter-1861-OM-B-13970-Partial-reconstruction-Note-the-upraised_fig5_277674538 For a colour pallet, the texture of the Aegnimacaris should vary amongst individuals, with some having bright patterns similar to a Peacock Mantis Shrimp (Odontodactylus scyllarus) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odontodactylus_scyllarus Or The Purple Spot Mantis Shrimp or Gonodactylus smithii https://lifg.australianmuseum.net.au/Group.html?groupId=I5dgCwCr And others might have more bland or camouflage-based colour pallets designed to blend in with the oceanic floor: Squilla Empussa https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthropoda/crustacea/malacostraca/eumalacostraca/royslist/species.php?name=s_empusa While having characteristics present with the original Aenigmacaris, the fictional species should have smasher-type or “clubbed” dactyl appendages to differentiate it from other mantis shrimp species, but would play as an evolutionary and advantageous adaptation for this crustacean’s survival in the harsh biosphere/ecosystem centred around Ark Survival Evolved. The tailfin and telson should contain a reinforced exoskeleton and plating in correlation with its abilities and defensive purpose. Abilities - Aenigmacaris can boil surrounding seawater through the use of their forelimbs, purposefully superheating and vaporising water with the spring of its club-like appendages. This behaviour present in mantis shrimps demonstrates how the intense velocity and momentum created from their claws can result in the production of cavitation bubbles and enough force to result in sonoluminescence. Creating a flash of light (which has a 10% of stunning prey - Stunning Ability) with temperatures warmer than 4000℃. Aenigmacaris can provide heat absorption and warmness insulation effects within a given designation around the crustacean towards nearby survivors, when in combat or spring-loading its claws (which can also boil, burn or deal thermal damage to enemies that are struck by its claws). - Aenigmacaris tromeronychus have a melee attack known as “Shockwave (Shochwaved when dealted to opponents)''. When the pressure in a cavitation bubble collapses due to a shift in said pressure and force from potential energy that increases in a surrounding water body, from the use of their raptorial claws. Modern day mantis shrimp can create “shockwaves' ' that can stun or kill prey. This physical ability could be implemented into this fictional species of Aegnimacaris. - Similar to the 450 different species of Earth mantis shrimp, the compound eyes of Aenigmacaris can detect the multiple wavelengths of the light spectrum, similar to humans, but can detect ultraviolet and polarised light. Allowing these crustaceans to detect and differentiate prey from the blue reflections and background of the continuous ocean depths. Granting the Aenigmacaris a visual enhancing ability that allows the crustacean to detect the slightest movement signals and disturbances in its surrounding environment. - Peacock Mantis Shrimp and other “Smasher-based or non-sparring appendage” Stomatopoda are known for their ability to break through glass and structures with the momentum of a 22. Calibre bullet, capable of easily devastating aquariums. If this was applied to a gigantic species, the potential energy released would be more impactful. Aenigmacaris have an applied buff known as “Splintered”. The longer a charged snap is held, the damage increases and can dent or immediately destroy or decrease the fortitude of foundations, structures and building materials depending on the set or material. - Aenigmacaris have a quick turning radius, though it requires a lot of stamina. - Based on the characteristics present in Aenigmacaris and other Aeschronectida, the carapace protects the thorax and the body parts connected to the head. Providing further safeguarding for vulnerable organs and weak points that can potentially be advantageous for predators. This exoskeleton plating or “shell” blocks about 80% of oncoming melee and range damage dealt to the head. - When in combat, both wild and tamed Aenigmacaris can fold their body’s inwards (in a foetal position) with their telson, tail plates and tailfin bending towards the body. Being able to absorb and deflect incoming melee damage with resistant and relatively thick armour plated or calcified cuticles along the tail that naturally protect mantis shrimp and Aenigmacaris during territorial telson sparring sessions. - Aenigmacaris will naturally hunt trilobites, ammonites, Eurypterid sea scorptions and small fish. While they don’t have a gathering or material collection boost, these crustaceans receive an experience point boost, similar to imprinting, though it applies to specific species of aquatic organisms. There is also a small chance (5%) of a buff known as “Triturate '', where the shells of marine arthropods decrease in defence and health recovery or natural regeneration when struck by a Aenigmacaris snap, breaking opposing shells in the process. - Knockout taming these organisms is a dangerous process. High-level wild Aenigmacaris can one shot survivors given the time and chance, which is why elasmosaurus and Dunkleosteus placoderms are recommended in distracting or degrading the armour and health of the Aenigmacaris to about 15%. Allowing the player to feed the mantis shrimp chitin or kibble (higher efficiency) every 5 to 10 minutes, with its health very slowly regenerating. This process will continue until the animal is tamed. - Present in most mantis shrimp species, both males and females are monogamous and will only have one specific mate throughout their entire lifespan. This creates trust bonds, and coordination/cooperation between the pair that can influence the stats of offspring Aenigmacaris and the imprinting process of larvae. Weaknesses - To balance out the abilities of the Aengimacaris, these crustaceans have a slower movement speed and swimming capabilities. Instead, adapted for a territorial, ambush-based and melee implemented niches/roles. - Aenigmacaris are weak to large or specialised oceanic predators, including Elasmosaurus (are able to manoeuvre and outpace the attacks of Aenigmacaris), Mosasaurs, Baryonyx (stun attack), Spinosaurus, Dunkleosteus (are able to break through the exoskeleton of Aenigmacaris and are not affected by about 75% of the defensive buffs and boosts applied by the Aenigmacaris) and Sarcosuchus (death roll and agility). - Mantis Shrimp and numerous different species of aquatic crustaceans can survive out of water for a given time, though Aenigmacaris have a unique metre that monitors their moisture levels from surrounding influences. Temperature, climate, humidity and weather can affect stress levels and the conditions that allow these crustaceans to survive outside of water. - Based on studies on Peacock Mantis Shrimp (Odontodactylus scyllarus) The snapping of the dactyl clubs on the forearms of a mantis shrimp decreases their overall force, momentum and velocity when outside of a water source. Punching at an estimated half variable/percentage approximately speed-wise when in the presence of air, when compared to water. This applies to Aenigmacaris where melee damage is debuffed by a percentage of 50% or (½) outside of saltwater. - Aenigmacaris larvae are very feeble and infirm, being a potential prey source to numerous predatory organisms including cnidaria, electrophorus, megalodons, mantas and megapiranhas. Increasing the requirements/demands essential to raising and breeding these crustaceans. Any suggestions and comments please reply below. This is still a work in process. 18. Rhizodus was a massive fish from the carboniferous period, the era of large arthropods, it has been proposed rhizodus lunged at land-bound prey much like a modern crocodile. My idea of Rhizodus is for it to be an aquatic creature that can traverse across lands in bursts, and for it to be anti-flier and anti-arthropod (Including stuff like tusoteuthis). Its land crawling ability allows it to reach land based creatures and players, though its not very fast at all, however you can do a lunge out of the water to quickly snatch anything on land or in the sky. When it lunges at a player or creature it will grab them, of which they can be brought back into the water, it can grab creatures that are below-rex sized in terms of land creatures, and fliers it can grab up to Rhyniognatha, but quetzels and wyverns are excluded from this. Other aquatic creatures it can grab as well, plesiosaur size is its max in terms of grabbing. Thrashing is its special attack when it has grabbed something, causing a bone break debuff that increases the amount of damage the creature takes per thrash. (Base thrash does 60, next thrash will do 70, and then 80, etc for example). ============================ Arthropod predator makes it do 2X damage against arthropods and mollusks (tusoteuthis), along with its ability to grab fliers out of the sky makes it pretty well suited to counter against Rhyniognatha. Arthropod predator also has the added bonus of making it immune to resin. Ammonites cannot make creatures aggro onto Rhizodus. ============================= Tanky & high base attack are Rhizodus's strongest points in terms of stats, will health and melee stats higher than a rex, it makes it a dangerous foe to encounter be it the ocean, land or skies even. However it has poor stamina and speed. ============================= Immune to eel and jellyfish stuns, along with tuso grabs. This makes it an effective counter to eels, jellyfish and tusoteuthis along with basiliosaurus, which does make it good for underwater cave exploration. ============================= In terms of abilites thats it, but its saddle comes in handy in one way: Its saddle has various storage containers on it that reduce basilo oil, bio-toxin and prime fish spoil times (on top of other perishable ocean items). This makes it useful when you go gathering resources in the ocean that spoil. ============================= And finally, it's taming method. Its taming requires you to sacrifice Arthropods (or something like tusoteuthis) to it, with either Rhyniognatha or Tuso being the best creatures for taming it.
  19. name cambroraster falcatus time period cambrian temperament neutral diet omnivore abilities none I feel like there are too many animals with gimmicks so I figure we should just add one for ambience. The cambroraster will swim around and is a source of chitin and fish meat but is otherwise useless. This creature should be added because I think it would really stand out from the competition and it is a good looking animal that is not well known and I think ARK: Survival Evolved should really focus on educating the public about prehistoric life as the gamers of today are the scientists of tomorrow. Thank you for reading my submission and I hope you have a good day
  20. My idea for a new creature submission is the Olm i know we have diplocaulus and adding something that kinda looks like a mix of that and eels would be strange, but ark being ark this creature would be a litlle different from the real life counter part being more akin to the the creature from arcane, having a good all-terrain creature but faring better in deep sea enviroment So this animal known as olm is relatively similar to an axolots, this cave salamander is most notable for its adaptations to a life of complete darkness in its underground habitat. The olm's eyes are undeveloped, leaving it blind, while its other senses, particularly those of smell and hearing, are acutely developed. It also lacks any pigmentation in its skin. It has three toes on its forelimbs, but only two toes on its hind feet. It exhibits neoteny, retaining larval characteristics like external gills into adulthood, like some American amphibians, the axolotl and the mudpuppies Olm also has exceptional regeneration capabilities – it is even able to regrow an amputated limb So trying to not stray away from this abilities, the ark olm would be the same size as a Rock Drake so it could be ridable and look cool as heck, it would have a similar ability to parasaurs, it would also be a good oxygen supplier underwater, would regen like carchar, would create some sort of mucus that slow or depletes stamina from enemies and have a bite that either creates torpidity slowly or poisons the target depending how the player toggles it The breeding/eating patttern should be like a diplocaulus I know this creature submission looks a litlle bland compare to others but i dont draw that well and its my first post in this community XD If you think any changes can be made to the design or abillities, write in the comments, it would be great to create a creature most people tend to like and had a sugestion in the creation P.s: Also sorry if my english sucks, not my main language
  21. Eurhinodelphis, a vicious dolphin known for having pack groups up to 5, these savage brutes are extremely agressive and are very territorial, which is very shocking due to their small size. these dolphins seem to have a taste for tusotuthis tentacles, basilosaurus blubber, alpha megalodon fin and a new thing "megalodon liver" these creatures once tamed are proven to be quite formidable and is also to eject a dark-red ink like that of the pygmy sperm whale, this can be used for a quick getaway, or for a suprise attack! Eurhinodelphis can also spot creatures with it's ecolocation similar to that of the parasaur, while this creature is quite formidable, however is not very resistant to electricity and is quite vunrable to it. Eurhinodelphis males and females have different perks aswell, males are able to disorientate creatures with clicking sounds that stun, however this has some endlag making it not the best thing to use, while females have a dash attack that launches them right out of your hands, this attack is heavy-hitting but gives recoil damage. Eurhinodelphis fuctions similar to a seascooter, or for those who have played subnautica, a seaglider. the survivor holds onto their sides with a special saddle and zooms around holding onto it.
  22. Thoracopterus (Icari) Rideable Flying Fish. Although its Triassic Era ancestors were small, the Ark Overseers altered the delicate Thora greatly in size, giving it a better chance of survival among predators. The Thora is larger than the Icthyosaurus, roughly half the size of the Megalodon. Powerful fins give it the ability to propel itself out of the water and glide gracefully for short distances along the water's surface. While gliding above the water, Thoracopterus (Icari) gets a Hydrated Buff, giving it a 30 second speed burst. Whether it is an Alpha Megalodon or an Alpha tribe chasing your tail, Thora can zip you away from danger with ease! Above-water glide time length is determined by Oxygen and Stamina Stats. The Thora cannot be out of water for very long. Like the Icarus of myth, the Thora will suffer if it glides too long in the sun. Underwater, the Thora's glide ability transforms to a temporary speed boost, folding its pectoral fins against its body as it rockets you forward to safety, or while diving to the ocean floor in search of its favorite crunchy food - Ammonites. (Dive/boost Similiar to Rock Drake ability) This, and the Thora's ability at making a quick get-away, makes it an ideal tame for gathering Ammonite Bile and black pearls. Thoracopterus (Icari) can often be found in schools of two or three, similar to its distant cousin, Astrodelphis. Unlike its cousin, Thora does not require a Tek saddle, relying instead on materials readily at hand. (175 hide, 80 Fiber, 10 Metal, 5 Silica Pearls) Thoracopterus (Icari) is an early-to-mid game knock-out tame. It's preferred taming kibbles are Fish Meat, Prime Fish Meat, Regular Kibble or Ammonite Bile. Historical Sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoracopterus www.researchgate.net October 2012 Proceedings of the Royal Society B Image: http://www.sci-news.com/paleontology/article00702.html Fish Image Credit: Feixiang Wu Colorized Fish Image Credit: JavaSiren/MamaJava and Bluzare Dossier Text: Common Name: Thoracopterus Species: Icari Time: Triassic Diet: Molluscivore Temperament: Passive Wild: During a voyage around the coast, I witnessed an amazing sight - a large fish, fins spread wide like wings, erupting and gliding across the waves! The fish quickly escaped on the breeze and dove back into the water, far away from the pack of hungry megalodons that had been chasing it. Thoracopterus Icari - for whatever else would I call a Flying Fish? - stayed above the water just long enough to escape. Just like Icarus and his wings, but briefer flight and ever more careful of the air and sun. After days of observation and exploratory dives, I witnessed it folding its pectoral fins close to its body and rocketing down to the deeps to feast on ammonites. It crunched away at the Ammonites for the mollusk's tasty interior bits and left the ammonite's resources to be gathered freely. Domesticated: Thoracopterus makes an able get-away tame in cases of emergency. It is also able to quickly dive very deep in order to reach its favorite food and avoid predators. Taming involves trapping and knocking them out. Their favorite foods are fish, prime fish meat, Regular Kibble and Ammonite Bile.
  23. Yes this was a real animal, i'm not making this up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obamus Infact it was one of the first animals to ever exist, in the late Precambrioan. Obamus would be a giant untamable animal that would spawn on the seafloor of Ragnarok's ocean. After killed, it would give the player a large ammounts of resources like Oil, Silca pearls, Black pearls, meat, and an unique toxin, which can be applied to bows. It would defend itself with said toxin it releases into the water periodically. Now that i think about it The Centre would suit this creature better. Nevermind now. Edit: Ouch, i just realised i accidentally made a foruth wall break in the dossier.
  24. Species: Hippopotamus Gorgops Time: Late Pliocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Highly Aggressive Wild Hippopotamus gorgops much like it's modern day relative spends most of it's days wallowing in the oasis's of the desert and gorging itself on the local plantlife however also like the modern hippo it's one of the most dangerous and fearsome creatures for a survivor to go up against. Hippopotamus gorgops has one of the deadliest bites I have ever seen even putting creatures like the T-rex to shame as i've seen it split smaller creatures in 2 with a single bite and have even seen it crush boulders and even metal veins in it's jaws. The beast is also incredibly fast much like the dire bear it is able to slowly pick up speed as it runs going from a slow trot to an incredibly fast gallop. Domesticated it is near impossible to knock out a Hippopotamus gorgops using the standard Tranq method due to their incredibly thick hide and is also far too aggressive to simply passive tame the only method to tame the creature is to steal a baby Hippopotamus gorgops from it's mother and imprint on it the Hippo will then see you as it's parent and follow you to the ends of the earth. Once tamed Hippopotamus gorgops makes for one hell of a powerful mount with it's powerful jaws survivors can kill most creatures in a single bite or even cripple larger creatures it's bite can even be used to harvest Metal and stone with it's jaws able to break metal veins and boulders with ease. the creature is also a remarkable swimmer able to rival other amphibious mounts like the Spinosaurus in terms of power. The hippo also like it's modern relative produces sweat that protects them from Sunburn and prevents infections however to a much higher degree it actually causes Hippopotamus gorgops to heal rapidly while it is in extremely hot weather making it all the more deadly when faced during these extreme temperatures. the saddle designed for the creature also makes it a force to be reckoned with as it adds a cannon for a second rider to use making this beast essentially an amphibious tank. Abilities Powerful Bite This attack can be charged up by holding the left mouse increasing the damage the longer it's held Can harvest metal, Oil veins and stone by biting them has weight reduction for metal and stone similar to an argie During Hotter temperatures it gains a rapid healing buff this also causes it's skin to turn bright pink Healing Buff extends to the rider as well builds up movement speed over time similar to the dire bear Can Stealth pounce on smaller creatures from the water pulling them under using it's jaws Can grab smaller creatures in it's mouth chomping on them Saddle has a Tank like cannon on it allowing a second person to hop on and fire similar to the Tropeognathus Can harvest Meat, Hide, Keratin, Chitin and berries Can damage stone structures with it's charged up bite can Roar with C Does not lose oxygen underwater Weaknesses Has to build up speed over time so can struggle to get away from a tough fight at first Has a pretty poor turning radius Large Target so can be very easy to hit cannot fire the Tank cannon underwater takes extra damage from Turrets so cannot be used for turret soaking Weak to headshot damage Cannot be picked up by a Quetzel due to the creatures immense weight other misc stuff Can only be tamed by imprinting on a young Hippo similar to the real life Jessica the Hippo however the mother hippo and all nearby hippo will become highly aggressive if you so much as get near the baby hippo and will pursue you to the ends of the earth to get their child back Will be around the size of a Woolly Rhino Will only be found in the different Oasis areas in scorched earth near the obelisks Will be able to be used for either metal and stone farming or straight up combat depending on what the survivor wants similar to wyverns being used for either weight or combat
  25. Species: Rhizodus gigas Time: Carboniferous Diet: Carnivore Size: about 20 meters Sadle unlocks at 78 lvl Stats: 700 health 500 stamina 300 moisture (oxygen) 75 basic damage ??? Speed 600 weight(selica and black pearls weight less in its inventory) About: Rhizodus gigas is giant fish that terrorizes freshwater, sometimes saltwater and even land fauna that got unlucky being near water while Rhizodus is around. Even tho Rhizodus gigas is a fish it can crawl on land to catch its prey, but prey on land is fast so it uses it slimy belly to charge at it and have better chances of catching it. Original Earths Rhizodus was only a Freshwater fish but Rhizodus gigas can also be found in oceans. Abilities: 1. Grab When Rhizodus catches small prey it swallows it whole but when it catches big prey it takes it as deep as possible and drowns it, in fear preys oxygen drains way faster than usuall. If you tame it you can use grab ability to grab your own tames or tribemates and take then underwater without worrying about them drowning cuz Rhizodus will provide them with oxygen. If it grabs another water creature it will start mauling it with its powerfull jaws Deals 70 damage doesnt matter if u grab wild creature or your own tame 2. Tail slap Tail slap stuns small animals in water and does huge knockback + bonebreak(20 sec.) on land. Deals 50 basic damage 3. Charge Charge gives Rhizodus speed boost for 7 seconds and deals 5 basic damage to everything that gets in the way 4. Slide Rhizodus can use its slimy belly to slide on land like a penguin, but can use it only 3 times, if all 3 is used it will have cooldown 10 minutes until you can use it again 5. Fire resistance Slime protects Rhizodus from getting burned or take damage from fire 6. Thick skull Rhizodus will take less damage from being shot/hit in the head Taming method: 1. Use repelant and let it swallow you after which it will spit you out and take some torpor(will drop very slowly) and then wait for it to do it again to knock it out, Rhizodus will eat any sort of meat exept for spoiled one but its most favorite is lamb 2. Become Jeremy and use fishing to tame it! 3. Make it swallow something poisonous to make it fall unconcious 4. Make it swallow carbonemis so it will choke and fall unconcious Can farm: Selica pearls, Black pearls, stone and flint Cant shoot from saddle
