  1. Hello, I have had an issue recently in which my single player world has seemingly been lost. I say seemingly because every time I try to open the world my game closes. I am playing on PC and had recently tried to make a custom mod for the game, however I don't know how that could've caused this issue. My world settings are gone, my mods had been deactivated, there's no "Join last world" option in the main menu anymore, and the aforementioned closing when trying to open the world to see what happened. I had tried to revert back to my last save but it won't even allow me to click on the "browse" option when accessing the file. I am truly lost and do not know what to do, is my world just gone like that? That's infuriating if so as I have roughly 183 hours in that world (Yes some AFK but still) and honestly If this issue isn't fixable, I might drop the game entirely as this is ridiculous. Please help me if you know a potential fix as I still do hold out hope for this game. Thanks
  2. Alright I have an update on the boss situation, and my stance has not changed in the slightest of the boss being remarkably stupid. I had taken your advice into account and had reloaded my save to re-attempt the boss fight. The second go around I had gotten him to an absolute sliver of hp meaning that the next time I could damage him he would absolutely die. Only 4 tentacles were left and they were all low and I thought this was it. However, I miss clicked and dismounted causing me to get one shot by a tentacle slam. Would've been fine if the game didn't glitch and save as a I die for whatever reason causing me to loose EVERYTHING in that fight with no chance of reloading (besides the tames). This was my last straw and I honestly couldn't be bothered knowing I had essentially won if it hadn't been for a misinput, I just went into creative and cheated the boss. Is that "Fair", no but is it better than regrinding for everything I brought into that damned fight, yes. I'm not apologetic for this and whether you think it's unfair is up to you but since I'm single player and had pretty much won the fight already, I'm just gonna appreciate the admin gun. Tldr; Boss was easier but still stupid, I caved and "cheated"
  3. So as the title said, I find this boss fight an absolute unfair pain and would like to discuss it. I entered the boss fight with my best pair of flak, a rock drake with 3k+ Stam and 40k hp and an ascendant saddle with 133 armor, 18 megalos each with ascendant saddles 40k hp and each dealing 4k with their primary, and a heavily leveled reaper king. I had a pump action shotgun with 300+ damage on it and just under 2k durability and 800 slugs along with shadow stakes and med brews. So you may be thinking I have everything I could possibly need right? NO, and If I had to guess I wasn't even close. Each tentacle took roughly 3 reloads to take down (14 shots each) and dealth 200-400 damage to my drake even with the great saddle. On top of that, each of the orbs DESTROYED my armor and a good chunk of health leaving me naked before the nameless even started spawning, I later got 2 shot by the orbs as he was roughly half hp and turned of the game. This, in my opinion, is absolute bs. I play solo and can't get other tribe members to help so I'm just screwed unless I can reload to the save I made before the fight and perform a miracle. This could entirely be a skill issue but I don't think I was playing all the bad and it was just a combination of constant orbs, WAY too bulky tentacles, reaper slow, and the stupid electric attack that just made it a migraine followed by a stupid death. Am I the only one who went through this or something similar? I say we scale him down more for singleplayer before abb comes out on ASA to make him less of a hassle, such as making the tentacles weaker as to not survive 15k worth of damage. Tldr: Alpha Rockwell on aberration is too strong and obnoxious and deserves a nerf, sincerely a disgruntled ark player
  4. I went to the mission "cheaper by the pack", easily cleared both beta and gamme with my carch (yes I transferred it over) and than because of how smooth those missions went, I attempt alpha. If you've played genesis, you see where I messed up already. MY CARCH GETS ALMOST MURKED AFTER 5 SECONDS to be fair, my carch has a prim saddle but it does have good levels and it had max blood rage at time and yet I STILL couldn't out dps it. I know this is probably a well known thing but I play switch and had never gotten to try gen 1 till recently. If anyone has a solution/method to beat these stupid alpha mission difficulty curves that'd be much appreciated.
  5. Hello beach bobs The creature votes are competitive to say the least and it makes sense that collaborating to have the best shot of getting creatures into the game is important. I'm creative and can come up with concepts easily, however my art skills and things to create actually professional art works for said creatures are sub par to say the very least (atleast compared to the frankly amazing art in the top submissions).😅 So if anyone would like to reach out to collaborate on some new submissions for the upcoming votes it'd be appreciated. I can make concepts, draw and rephrase grammar to the best of my ability, ik it's not the best resume but it's something. Please note however I cannot offer pay and credit will be split evenly among collaborators with everyone's ideas will be taken into account, however ideas may be overruled. So if this seems interesting to you I'd happy ad anyone to the creature tribe.
  6. I like this idea but I feel like sarco killing buff is a bit too niche since the only reason you'd really wanna kill sarcos are for the boss tribute (not trying to be rude just i feel it could be changed to be more widespread). Still a giant marine turtle that's actually a turtle would be nice to have.
  7. The dossier for this is a great touch, and this creature has alot of potential if it does get added.
  8. This creature suggestion is actually very unique, I like the underwater healing and food enhancing abilities alot, awesome job.
  9. This is a super cool submission. This offer is entirely optional but I submitted an idea for this creature and since we're both submitting the same creature if you wanna check it out or incorporate its ideas in to yours you'd be welcome to. Might as well collaborate if you've got the same goal imo
  10. Temperment: Docile Diet: Herbivorus Location: The centers floating island and subsequent ocean underneath Size: Slightly smaller than a sarco length wise but flater to the ground Encountering: The atopodentatus is a semi aquatic docile creature that posses a tight pack structure. Even though the phrase "Strength in numbers" is one of the best known out there, yet for this creature, is not the case. When attacked the atopodentatus trys to make a get away to the nearest water source if on land, and if in water, they swim away at a speed that is more than impressive especially for there size. When in water, these creatures become one of the fastest options out there to a survivor wishing to tame the ever aggressive seas the ark world provide. However, when on land, these creatures speed is comparable to that of an ankylosaur. So when they DO breach the surface and arrive on the shores of the center pit, it's typically for sunbathing, one of this species favorite hobby. Taming: While taming this creature, one must keep in mind its sunbathing habit. When the atopodentatus lays out in the sun, survivors can approach them and rub cementing paste on them, this acts as a natural sunscreen for them which can win them over after enough is applied. (Roughly 20-30 cementing paste is used at a time so bring alot) Tamed: When tamed these remarkable speedsters provide some of the best underwater traversal possible, possessing no oxygen star and not rising to the surface when dismounted. However thats not all they're used for, when set on wander underwater, these creatures use their paddle like snout to dig up remarkably rare resources from the sea bed. Abilities: primary attack, a simple bite that can be used while moving. Secondary attack, an underwater "lunge" that can be used for an additional burst of speed that's good for gaining momentum. Third attack, a manual resource shoveling dig that can be used when touching the ground, this however can only dig up certain resources dependant on the area. Diggable resources: Element shards, oil, cementing paste, polymer, scillica pearls, and black pearls (The quantity of these is small and each has a given Rarity for each time they dig for resources) Misc: Their saddle is unlocked at 34 Their breedable and clonable Their stats are better than an icthyasaurus but not by much
  11. That sounds good but I think that might cause problems with people who want specific dinos or who's favorite dino isn't on the list😅
  12. Maybe if it does get a camera type function it could tell you certain things that you can't see from a distance (IE, setting one up infront of a red drop spawn and being able to see what's inside like the awesome spyglass can)
  13. I feel like (for everyone's sake so you aren't constantly getting random dinos nobody cares about) it should be customizable to a degree without luck being a factor. Maybe giving it dermis's could let it detect all of the creature it has a dermis for in a certain range, but you only get 3 slots per dollacaris and they can't be swapped out.
  14. That's actually a very interesting idea, I may replace the "max level detection" ability with that as to let the bulbdogs ability still shine for that purpose.
  15. That was actually my largest concern with it. I'd like to keep its abilities as is but potentially increasing the price of its second ability or adding some other affect may be necessary I.E, making it cost 50-100 black pearls per use or having the creature loose health while the location buff is active (kinda cruel but would make it more balanced)
