  1. Ha, watch me farm black pearls like it's my day job with this one I half-expected it to be a living camera (you know, as an alternative to the surveillance console), but that also works !
  2. Herbivores FTW ! And I don't say that just because I also submitted one. I agree that submissions have been favoring big bad dinos overall. Some good came out of it (the Gigantoraptor is more peaceful in comparison to most, but that remains relative given its size). I like the idea of a scout-focused tame, not built for combat but still useful. I appreciate the thermal aspect of it, too ; The Center has a mean snow biome ! Good luck
  3. The dossier looks cool. I'm just not sure what I'd do with it It might need a bit of oomph but I want to like it.
  4. HOLY F-... uh, holy Ferox. That is one gorgeous concept. I don't know how much use I'd have for it in actuality, but conceptually that's absolutely amazing. Also, this only demonstrates how much The Center needs its own flyer (I also submitted one myself). At the end of the day, this map just deserves one.
  5. Using trophies is a nice touch, those items are so rarely used and it would give them additional value in-between bossfights.
  6. Thank you ! I didn't want it to just give free electricity, and The Center is gorgeous precisely because water is just everywhere
  7. I did the math that we won't have THAT MANY new creatures to vote on. And not all creatures will be flyers. So if we're to add a new flyer, make it count, you know ?
  8. I've been wanting a submarine for a while (though in my head that was a TLC for the Leeds). And the art makes it look super cool. Immediate upvote.
  9. I submitted no less than two creatures for The Center... and I still want this one to win XD Come on, it's overdue.
  10. (you might want to change the black font)
  11. Say no more XD I like that you make this flyer also work with its talons to climb. It's a nice twist that sets it apart from the Argy
  12. Thanks for the compliment ! I checked your profile and you submitted the Haast Eagle \o/ A cool submission also. There is clearly a need for a strong, unique flyer on this map. I don't wish for The Center to get a new Wyvern nest added or anything, so I looked for its own niche. Good luck to you too !
  13. Right ?! And this one has a fun face (plus a lit up nose), I thought it'd be easy to make it look distinctive.
  14. I like that, that's super original. You have a big scary beast and it does damage WITH ITS VOICE. Such a fun twist.
  15. The "lucky whiskers" are a cute idea. It could simply be that while mounted, any pin added to your map (M) will appear in the world with a beam or indicator of some sort.
  16. Thank you so much ! I wanted to give The Center what has long been due.
  17. The comfort of your base everywhere ! Advanced survivors need advanced dinos, get yourself a living hydro power plant : the Aquilarhinus. Main paleoarts : ICRA Art Additional "art" : little old me NEVER RUN OUT OF ENERGY On an archipelago like The Center, water is everywhere. Even on land ! It's an underrated resource in itself, found not just in the ocean but also in its many jungles, large swamps, and glorious waterfalls. Take advantage of the setting of the map, and turn water into a renewable source of energy for your base, your camp, your trap or your FOB ! Look below for a breakdown of its abilities ! The Aquilarhinus is the one of the few large creatures spawning on beaches. It stays where the water is ! It favors warmer climates but can be found occasionally on the beaches of colder areas. With the Aquilarhinus, you don't live where your generator is : the generator lives with you. Access to water is, ideally, natural sources of water (ocean, lake, river, etc.), which will be sustainable as long as the Aquilarhinus is kept safe. But ! It can also be filled water containers in its inventory, though that will require constant monitoring. The engram for its saddle is unlocked late in the game, because otherwise, a wireless gasoline generator would be way too OP ! The Aquilarhinus' main attack depends on whether its saddle is "switched on" : The Aquilarhinus comes with a personality quirk : it behaves differently depending on the night/day cycle ! The taming methods for the Aquilarhinus are not very complicated, but there are two of them and they yield different results. Like the Chalicotherium's, the passive tame of the Aquilarhinus can never be ruined. We have enough problems as it is. Lastly, the Aquilarhinus has a gathering ability that lets it dig the soil on any map, and find mushrooms there ! The foraging ability is slightly less convenient than harvesting, because you can do it anywhere, even if no mushrooms assets are around. But it guarantees access to mushrooms wherever you are, and even some chance of finding chitin. This will be useful in case the remaster doesn't bring DLC resources to The Center. And, well, people transfer maps, anyway. Why you should vote for the Aquilarhinus - Hadrosaurs are cool ! And ASA could use more creatures that are not badass killers, for a change. This is my contribution to that effort - Day/night behavior and TWO taming methods, for more immersive gameplay - Use water access and/or water containers for a brand new purpose - Find mushrooms and small amounts of chitin by foraging anywhere - New electricity-based attack : the electrical pushback ! - The mobile generator expands nomadic gameplay and/or raids PS : having two different ideas for The Center, a map I like very much but in dire need of a TLC, I decided to submit two creatures this time. I thought it'd be fun to be in a competition with myself, see what people respond to. Please also check out the Sinopterus 🥰
  18. Keep your Wyverns, your Griffins and your Owls, we don't need them : with the Sinopterus, we're finally giving The Center the flyer it deserves ! Paleoart : American Museum of Natural History, NY Additional "art" : yours truly HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO FLY ? The Center is currently the map most in need of a remaster : it's showing its age, it has no unique creature at all... and it has also none of the most advanced flyers in the game. Give The Center some love ! With the Sinopterus, get yourself a creature designed for flight... in various forms. This bird can be used as a fighter jet, a hot air balloon... or, while young, even as a helicopter ! Combine different flight modes, saddles, and attacks, for optimal flexibility in the skies of Ark's oldest free DLC map. Finally. Look below for a breakdown of its abilities ! In its current state, the center of The Center is frustrating : you go through all that trouble to reach the floating island... and there is nothing special to see or do there. Adding the Sinopterus to this area would provide additional appeal to the floating island, and reward exploration. The Sinopterus is high maintenance, and will only go home with rich survivors ! Metal ingots are its favorite, but metal structures, ammunition or flak armor could also work. That said, bringing shiny gifts to this bird is actually the least of your problems... ...Grappling it will NOT work, as the Sinopterus is not grapple-able at all. A lasso, and nothing else ! And yes, this might require an Equus tame first. DON'T leave a tamed Sinopterus unattended while set to neutral : anyone dropping metal nearby could easily lure it away from where you parked it. TWO ADDITIONAL FLIGHT MODES ! By default, the Sinopterus flies at a rather efficient speed. But you might want to look into its two other flight modes, each coming with different advantages. As the Sinopterus is designed to complement existing flyers like the Argentavis or the Quetz, its saddles (plural !) unlock at the equivalent levels : You can still use the hyper speed mode with the basket saddle... but be careful, this is more dangerous for your passengers if you hit obstacles on the way ! With its rather weak health, the Sinopterus might not resist damage very well, but in hyper speed mode, a well-bred specimen might just fly through a turret wall faster than bullets ! All your tribe has to do is to pucker up in the basket, while you fly at the speed of light into your enemies' base... Pteranodon who ? Tip : if you go in and out of upside down mode fast enough, you can do barrels in the sky... which makes it even harder for the pilot of the Sinopterus to be aimed at. ATTACKS & ABILITIES Built for speed and movement, the Sinopterus also displays some light gathering and/or carrying abilities, useful for PvP or PvE. Lastly, the Sinopterus has a hidden ability, available only when it's young. It can't fly yet, but it sure is learning to ! With the wing flap, the Sinopterus can go upwards, and can also be stationary for a short time (it doesn't have the stamina of an adult !). The young Sinopterus' ability is not meant to replace or compete with the Sinomacrops. The idea is only to provide an additional flight mode, that doubles as a breeding incentive. Why you should vote for the Sinopterus - Childhood-exclusive ability : the wing flap - The Sinopterus is a tame that complements having an Argy and/or Quetz : it can't do what they do, and has its own perks - Fly upside down and tranq dinos while in stationary flight - Ride the Sinopterus' basket like a hot air balloon or bring passengers with you, who can shoot while you fly... - Built-in farming ability : gather in one fell swoop small amounts of almost any resources - Pick up dropped packages without getting off its saddle - Travel to your FOB at hyper speed while carrying almost infinite amounts of ammo ! PS : having two different ideas for The Center, a map I like very much but in dire need of a TLC, I decided to submit two creatures this time. I thought it'd be fun to be in a competition with myself, see what people respond to. Please also check out the Aquilarhinus 😊
  19. Thank you ! I'm trying to suggest something else than "Reaper-counters" OP dinos
  20. Maybe ! In any case, it can't hurt. Cryopods are useful and everything, but empty bases can be boring. Plus, if you want to make use of dinos you already have, or that are breeding, it's nice to have options !
  21. In ASE, it depends on your access to resources (polymer, etc.) to craft them. Early game, you might not have cryos for each of your tames yet. But in ASA we don't know if the cryos will be there immediately. Just last month Raasclark quoted Dollie as saying that the devs are still discussing it, and it's not a given at all. So it's nice to have a plan B !
