Scientists quibble about this sort of stuff all the time dude. It's never been universally agreed upon what constitutes life in the gestational sense. Where extraterrestrial singlecelled organisms are concerned it's still kind of up in the air too unless we get definitive testing that can prove those microbes match all criteria for being considered life. It's just that in the latter case saying you found life on mars sounds better for netting research funding than going "we might've found something that maybe holds the qualities of life as we currently understand it". Right, even though o still hold firm to my beliefs on carcharadontasaurus I've got to ask: has anyone seen any news on it? I don't use twitter so I've not checked there and the players on my server are driving me up the wall since I'm the de facto information broker. Please tell me they've said it's an ark2 thing so I can make it stop.

You must have found a goldilocks tier server or have the patience of a saint. My experience with official pve was nothing but watching land disputes and epeen waving barring exactly one chill server that still suffered the usual official pve issue that was endless pillar spam.

That was a special brand of hellish I'll tell you what. You can't even begin to imagine all of the beach and hidey hole structures I had to wipe when the bobs that were just trying the free game decided it wasn't for them and left their structures and tames to just decay. Some days I feel less like a player and more like a janitor.

They spawn around 10 lat 15ish lon. The arts definitely great but also really bittersweet

I find that the best option is to carry an Ovis over to their spawn location and whack it nearby. When all of the hawks are trying to feed only a few in the group will gain affinity as there's only so many bites that can be taken even if they do the animation. Since Ovis take FOREVER to be eaten through this guarantees that a sizable group can all not only gain affinity but also get a sizable boost due to raw mutton being so valuable. If you're on your own just flip on the tame tracker for the hawks if you require multiple sheep to keep them in sight while you trek out for more, the Ovis spawn a bit out of the way of the hawks stomping grounds so it's pretty useful. Elsewise just have yourself, a tribemate, and any flyers with significant dragweight take turns scooping and carrying them over to be slaughtered.

Bred some desmodus and andrewsarchus, deleted a pair of gates barring access to the bifrost portal that a player put up, set up a public teleporter to the bifrost so people either at the tek era or simply using the community center public tp can get there safely, proceeded to get in an argument with said player when they logged in to see their gates destroyed and the teleported there, pointed out the rule in the welcome message literally saying not to block off important resources and locations, ignored the rest of their whining while I proceeded to try and figure out how to Tokyo drift on an andrewsarchus, drifted off a cliff on said andrewsarchus into a group of deinonychus, had minor heartattack fighting them off, walk of shamed back to base on a nearly dead ansdrewsarchus

Grug throwing rocks is also primitive combat. Not sure about you but if I'm gonna unga bunga I'd rather do the predictions of the rock's fall off in first person rather than over grug's shoulder.

That's a lot of anger for just being told that your console receives less support because it's the least popular. What in the sweet blue hell makes you think the other platforms get proper support? Ark is a buggy mess on every platform. If PC- the platform they arguably consider the most lucrative of the four- can still run like a hot mess what makes you think you'll be better off? That said, because it's the most lucrative they'll probably want to keep that gravy train going. This isn't a matter of who deserves what, it's a matter of the company piling support where they think the money will flow the most and going down the list from there. Now, could switch one day topple pc in the profit department? Maybe. But why bet on a maybe when you can just stick with the confirmed gravy train? As for who I'm defending; I'm not really defending anyone, im just pointing out the ridiculousness of trying to insinuate that a guy with "VOLUNTEER" as part of their title is somehow subject to the whims of wildcards corporate overlords. Perhaps take a second to really get a grip on what I'm saying before getting offended at the word "son" and prattling on about your age or speaking of time played on a platform as if it works as an appeal to authority.

Hey Ced, while we have you here you mind if I pick your brain on the teams decision to make the fenrir incapable of breeding? Considering the work that has to get put in just to get them it just strikes me as weird that we won't be able to do much with them unless we risk the chance something happens that kills them.

So uh, now that I've gotten my hands on a fenrir (not spoiling how, your suffering nourishes me and chances are you'll all look it up anyway) gotta say I'm pretty disappointed. Not making them breedable makes them tantamount to trophies that take far more effort than they're worth to earn. It also really dashed my hopes of having a hardcounter to shadowmanes. Not sure why wildcard thought this was a good move to make. Beyond their ice armor I'm literally better off with the standard direwolves as they beat them in every other aspect.

You know I'm actually kind of glad that they haven't explained how the fenrir is supposed to be tamed, gives players a chance to actually go through trial and error. The fact that I'll have a front row seat to hordes of players throwing themselves quite literally to the wolves and getting subsequently decimated or devolving into a frothy rage as they accidentally kill them is totally unrelated. Totally.

Ark has always been a game that's bugged to hell and back. It's one of the few things the community is justified in getting angry about. That said at the risk of sounding elitist you're playing on what could be argued as the least popular/lucrative of the four platforms ark is spread across and thus your platform will receive less priority. Logically you'll be at the bottom of the heap while they try to please the larger financial draws.

This. I want my black unicorn so I can stunt on people. If it weren't for the fact this this is ark 1's last hurrah I'd be campaigning for Pegasii to be added as well. Kinda struck me as weird we that have unicorns but not the other mythical equine

Hopefully it isn't gutted like CI was. Losing out on crystal griffins and an alternative spot for rock drakes still kinda rubs me the wrong way, at this point the only reason I still keep it on my server cluster is because it's aesthetically pleasing and an easy means of acquiring wyverns for newer players.

Accidentally killed my prized shadowmane with my god mode gun while clearing abandoned and/or rule breaking bases from my server, got salty, contemplated shooting the offending players highest level giga, began a new breeding project with the shadowmane's sire and primary mate instead because a destroyed base is already a massive set back and punishment, redid my servers welcome message to tell people that pillar/foundation spam will result in a flat out ban because its already against my rules, clearing foundations is what led to the mess, and I was still very, very salty.
